Civilians are for distracting bugs and drones while you drop aristrikes on both
>got this game just recently in the humble bundle thing
>play normal difficulty up to level 35 (the one that starts you out right by 5+ dropships all spawning enemies at once, including ones with hectors and flying drones)
>die repeatedly and accomplish nothing
am i a shitter Yea Forums?
They have plot armor anyway, have you ever seen them die?
35 stage you say in 4.1? one where you look at the bridge?
The radio tells you to do it one by one, if you aggro way too many - you'll be easily overwhelmed.
It's chaotic on the scene.
start up a server and lets beat the mission
yeah, that stage, enemies spawn by other dropships won't go for you if you don't aggro anything near them. work by taking down one dropship at the time without firing ANYTHING in direction of other ones.
And keep your AI troops alive as a meatshield via health drops.
It's probably one of the first challenging missions
Yeah that's the one.
Oh shit THAT's how aggro works? That'll make things easier
Aggro depends on stage I think, but in that mission you need to be careful to not pull more enemies than you can manage. Just observe their behaviour, and you'll manage. After few dropships go down it'll become manageable even if you aggro way too many of them.
I think we always failed horribly when we tried to get rid of every hector right at the start of the mission, which caused to all spawns to aggro on us. It's been more than a year so I don't remember as clearly all the details.
So yeah, listen what radiochat tells you and just observe who is passive or not, and you'll pull thru it.
>Aggro depends on stage I think
Indeed, in some missions all the enemies on the map will beeline toward you as soon as you try to shoot a transport/boss
Also EDF 5 for PC when?
>This is not a world war.
>THIS IS A SPACE WAR.
I love these idiots so much.
probably sometime this year, like summer or autumn.
4.1 done reasonably well for them, so I see why they wouldn't
>so I see
*so I don't see
Also don't forget to bring the right tool to the right job: many missions can be easily completed on Inferno if you bring the right weapon/class
>"have you ever seen them die?"
have you even played the game user
is wing diver any good?
I tried playing her on hard difficulty (huge mistake) and kept losing and not getting any weapons, does she have any weapons besides grenades that don't need to be charged?
>Iron Rain looks like another Insect Armageddon
I'm glad I bought 5 instead
I don't know...
Overall, I'm kinda disappointed in 5.
Not the least because the new "upgrade" system seems to have cause all the weapons to be nerfed into the ground so they could be built back up.
Dash-hopping with Fencer was way more fun than dash-canceling though.
about 100 hours
maybe I just don't react on anything without hitpoint gauge.
I always assumed they just flail around and then disappear into nothing.
it doesn't look as bad as IA, tho that isn't saying much
Wing Diver is the best class for solo, and you can just play Inferno without getting hit, once you learn how to manage the energy
I played my first EDF, EDF4.1 starting last week because I got it off humble. I wasn't expecting anything, but by god, it actually single handeidly revived my love for fucking video games.
It's like a celebration of all things video game.
It's so fucking fun.
>Hey, got a girl waiting for you back home?
>GOOD QUESTION!
>Not the least because the new "upgrade" system seems to have cause all the weapons to be nerfed into the ground so they could be built back up.
on the other hand there is less "well this gun is good so I keep using it for another dozen of stages ignoring literally every other weapon".
I'd say 5 has worse stage design than 4.1 for sure. Some stages are hard and fun, some feel like a filler to have a radio chat going.
got this game in the recent humble bundle monthly and i fuckin' love the randomly generated conversations that happen
>whoever kills the most bugs buys dinner!
>we'll see about that
>Hey, got a girl waiting for you back home?
>Hey don't get your hopes up.
>Hey are you getting married when we get back?
>Hey are YOU getting married when we get back?
EDF is what happens when you use all the next gen advances just to cram more fun into the game
>when you first play Brute Force for the first time and see all the damn enemies they crammed into it
Yeah, it really started to grind as the mission count went higher...
That, and the giants just weren't that fun to fight. Some of their weaponry was just bullshit, like the shotguns and laser beams. Both did way too much damage, and the lasers basically blind you for the duration if they hit.
Wing Diver has a good arrange of weapons, but it's glass cannon type of character. You need to really be able to dodge and control energy well for it to do play solo on hard right off the bat.
If we are talking 4.1 here, there is one stage you can farm even on inferno with weakest weapons because ants can't climb trees, if you really need highlevel weapon hard.
And there is also infitiy armor gain setups with it.
>My home is gone!
>Don't worry i'll get you home safe
its the simplest shit
>I FORGOT BULLETS!
hey on the pc version of edf 4.1 how do i change the voice command menu stuff? is there a way to change it because i couldn't find it in the menus
>That, and the giants just weren't that fun to fight. Some of their weaponry was just bullshit, like the shotguns and laser beams.
I don't mind weapons, I mind armor, dodge rolls and regenerating limbs.
It's all combines into being annoying in not a fun way.
Blinding is a thing too, yeah, screw it, aside of beams there other weird things going with lighting at times.
Lets not forget the scripted mission dialogue either
>progress faster than science is impossible!
Does anyone want to play 4.1 hardmode?
me and my friend played through the entire campaign, just finished it last weekend
while I think 2025 (we didnt play 4.1) was better overall. this game had some pretty hilarious dialogue and some cool surprises
>that final boss
"noone could have survived this.."
"OH YOU THINK SO EH?"
based sarge
She has plenty of weapons (especially in the mid-range electric category) that have big-ass magazines and only need to reload and drain your jetpack energy occasionally
>first mission in europe
>frogs appear
I bet it was set in france
>yakuza 0 gets put in a humble bundle
>kiwami gets a pc release date shortly thereafter
>edf 4.1 gets put in a humble bundle
>???
a man can dream
I just want to get 5, my only friends who play it are all foreigners who have already moved on to it while I'm stuck with 4.1 which I still love of course. Being a poorfag sucks
If you're playing 4(.1) her best weapons are the thunderbows. I imagine its the same in 5, but I haven't felt the urge to pick it back up after clearing the story on Fencer. Due to arcing, it actually makes her one of the best for tunnel missions. She can clear waves of ants before they even come into view.
The next thing is energy management. Don't just hold the fly button unless you're going for altitude. Rapidly tap to glide or sustain altitude.
In 5, she gains an emergency dodge that actually doesn't consume energy. So staying aloft is somewhat easier.
I have 4.1 on PC, but I heard 5 is worse than 4.1 in almost every way.
Is that true?
man, air raider in 5 is just too good.
in exchange of vehicle arsenal to give to ranger
what vehicles did air raider lose?
nah, it's not worse in every way.
It's better in some things like overall equipment and abilities of classes, and technically worse in some other things - like some enemies and stage designs.
It's still really good game, just after playing 5 quite a bit 4.1 seems a bit better.
5 also seems a bit more solo friendly thanks to change of classes and some weapons, while 4.1 you had to rely on team way more and solo classes were hardly as fun to play cause you couldn't use majority of weapons there
It's just different a bit, that's about it. But to go as far to call it worse? nah.
Railgun, Nereid Helicopter, Bikes, and new EMC tank is ranger only.
THEY LOOK JUST LIKE PEOPLE!
>Railgun, Nereid Helicopter and new EMC tank is ranger only.
So like the best vehicles, nice
Newbie here playing 4.1, How the hell do I beat the mission with the Giant Walker? The Hectors keep turning me into mincemeat when I try to snipe the walker at different angles
... Kinda.
The missions drag on, and a lot more fill like filler so they can hit a higher number than 4.
There is a literal tutorial mission.
The translation is pretty bad, and the delivery is less cheesy, so the story comes off as half-baked. There was never a moment where I felt shit just got real... unlike in 4 when the dragons attack all the support units...
The biggest enemies are just stage hazards for too long... literally telling you not to bother shooting at them over the radio.
new bike is spectacular, didn't use EMC yet so can't say, helicopter is as always but with fuel.
but Railgun is not as useful as in 4.1 I'd say. And I used it almost all the time in 4.1.
there are no huge amount of dropships to kill and they are usually too low or off to weird angle to hit right. Not to mention no new type of airship as in 4.1.
And while killing hectors was the railgun duty, now aliens use cover way too much, it's easier just to use sniper rifle as ranger.
It's kinda weird separation honestly.
Kill the hectors first?
>If I die, PLEASE take care of my family
>Other soldiers says no
>"are you a Ketchup or onions sauce kinda guy?"
Kill all the enemies before trying to shoot it, also spawns are tied to its health, so you'll just get overwhelmed if you try to alpha strike
also kill the guns on it
they hurt a lot
Yeah its always good to have at least someone who can snipe the turrets like a ranger with snipers, it's imperative I'd say
>Please tell me what we are up against
>HOSTILE FORCES
God that kills me everytime
That thing is really well designed too, hard to get right angles on turrets, not to mention on weak point.
I love and hate it at the same time
Man oh man.
Me and two buddies just beat Demon Army on Hard in 4.1 after like a year of having the game. That mission was so bullshit. Me playing Wing Diver, I had to just act as bait and kite the horde around while my buddies (Ranger and Air Raider) picked them off and dealt with the hives.
Finally making progress in the game after so long feels great. Easily one of the hardest missions in the game.
The worst part about it is that you NEED teamword to beat that mission
One retard aggroing everyone is enough to end things
I feel ya, it took about 3-4 months for me and my friend as Ranger/Air raider team to beat it on hard.
for two playes it was really hard, but that bloody satisfaction when you finally do it.
OH FUCK GUYS I CANT DO IT
I CANT SHOOT IT, IT LOOKS JUST LIKE US, I DONT WANT TO BE A MURDERER
I FORGOT MY BULLETS
I BET IT'S WEAK TO WATER
IT LOOKS LIKE IT SHOULD BE WEAK TO WATER BUT IT ISNT
IT LOOKS INDENTICAL TO HUMAN
Why would you shoot a fellow human? Look at it, two eyes, two legs, two arms. Just like us
I like how they don't have such confusion when greys come out
The frogs were hilarious, but he soldiers really got to me.
>shoot off this cool armored looking robot thing
>tiny grey alien head underneath
Ayyy
They're obviously not human. Theyre robots
WAIT THEY ARENT ROBOTS AT ALL
>It's been seven years!
I wonder if they do sequel ot EDF 5?
Would be fun.
>world is repopulated with nothing but EDF soldiers
>aliens invide full force into fortress world like Kadia.
>silver man is an enemy grunt
dat would be neat.
>nothing but EDF soldiers
Perfection
>Sandlot will never make WH40k game
bummer
bump
You know all your images with master in the filename are resizes, right? You’re not saving the originals
I didn't knew that, but resolution is high enough to not bother honestly, it's not like it's highly detailed art anyway.
