Basically the Rook became the Judge, a silent masked figure who defends New Eden with a bow and arrow, after Joseph fills Rook with guilt for all of what happened in 5 while in the bunker and ends up becoming a party member after you meet Joseph

It's wasted on this hard pass of a game.

What makes this massively improved version of Far Cry 5 a "hard pass"?

Too bad I haven't heard any of it because there's no option to adjust different volumes in-game aside from "master volume" and the music volume is way too fucking loud.

Okay, I've been a big fan of big Ubisoft games in recent years like AC Origins and Odyssey and FC5, but New Dawn is virtually identical to 5 in terms of gameplay. It feels EXACTLY the same.
I like the game, but it's definitely not a "massively improved" version of FC5, it's literally the same game with a different coat of paint and some more content for those that finished 5.

Should clarify that there is a "mute music" option, which I used.

They completely changed the story progression system.
They added expeditions.
They revamped player progression. And resources. Made things like hunting meaningful again.
They added outpost escalation.
Also they added superpowers. Game changing superpowers.

It's an improved version of Far Cry 5 in the same way Fallout New Vegas is an improved version of Fallout 3.

Hunting is not meaningful though. Clearing outposts and locations as you find them and killing whatever attacks you will net you easily enough resources to make whatever you want. If you want to craft legendary stuff do a couple of expeditions.

Far Cry 5's story progression was automatic. It attracted a huge amount of backlash. New Dawn uses Primal's system instead. Gather resources, gather NPCs.

Finished the game in 9 hours, the specialist you need to rescue cringed me so bad. You don't have to make autistic character to make them interesting Ubisoft. Literal manchildren, crackhead, and some forgettable one liner characters. Joseph and Judge are the only person that speaks normally in the game. Literal artificial difficulty with it's bullet sponge enemy. Especially that 2 niggress that take fuck long time to kill.
optimization in the game is surprisingly good though. Is AC Odyssey well optimized like thus game?

Here's my thoughts on New Dawn as a whole
>5 had a better atmosphere of rural American heartland vs the same location becoming a really generic post apocalypse scape
>Story is so fucking short that it leaves no impact, Twins have nothing to offer as villains and the relationship between Joseph and Ethan doesn't get time to give you reason to be invested
>Thought that the Highwaymen blasting mumble rap while your side listens to old tunes gives a humorous "Boomers vs Zoomers" vibe
>The whole design of weapon/enemy levels just feels like a worthless gimmick since levels only cap out at 4th rank with Elite enemies and boss animals and both get wiped the fuck out by elite weapons so easily that nothing is threatening when you craft level 4 weapons
>Expeditions are the best part of the game, as the snatch and grab style is more exciting than clearing outposts
>Everything else is just copy pasted from 5 but sometimes worse in some aspects like how you can now only have one GFH at a time

Every single character is so fucking bad. Every interaction with good and bad characters made me cringe with their retarded dialogue. It wasnt even in a fun whacky way, it was just 'my dude' and other cringy shit. Im glad I pirated it, I couldnt imagine paying money for this game. It makes fc5 seem like a masterpiece in comparison. origins and odyssey are pretty great open world games with cool exploration, but they feel more like rpgs than actual AC games.

No, AC:O is significantly harder to run at consistent framerates. It does look better, though, I think.

That's taken from Primal. Primal only let you have one GFH and required you to use resources to revive them. The problem with 2 GFH was that it made FC5 way too easy.

They're both good. New Dawn's composers went out of their way to make New Dawn sound nothing like Dan Romer's work, which was a somewhat bold choice. Kinda like the GoldenEye film soundtrack which had zero Bond cues in it on purpose.
