You, sir, are correct. REmake 2 is a fine game but in no way is it a memorable game, as was its original. I remember RE2 and the puzzles and the music and the feel of the game. The dialogue and the exploration. It stuck with me and I played it a lot over the years. I stopped playing REmake 2 less than a week later.

Valkyrie Profile does have a sequel, Silmeria is pretty decent. It's hard af in some places and the grind is very, very real but it had a lot to offer.
