It can't work in modern day as there are far fewer CDs or DVDs out there that people have ane ejecting discs stops games outright. The tech is simply too good to do it.

Who says they are going to use disc? For all we know, it could be a gatcha by scanning QR codes, or by taking pictures, or screenshots, or face recognition etc. It could be a fucking pokemon GO knock-off, but I don't fuckin care. If it means it's going to resurrect a long dead franchise, then I'm going fucking in.

Three and four are kind of good, Advance 2 is pretty great. That's about it!

They haven't done anything I would care about since the DS games. I doubt we'll see a 3ds game this late. A switch game would be great, but I'm not holding my breath.

1 and 2 were my favorite games, and I even bought a copy of 2 last year just to play it again. But in my mind the series died after they translated the last DS game.

MR2 and the GBA games were the best ones. This one was pretty fun, but I dont consider it the best.
