It really doesn't. Even if we just look at P5, the narrative starts to fall apart if you use the calendar system. Why does Futaba sleep for an entire month? Why does Okumura remain sentient for so long if his cognitive self was killed almost a month back?

Because there's more to it than going to a restaurant to level up your intelect. That's just something they had to add because the games don't have enough content to fill the calendar.

I want the next one to be about a supernatural club at a school investigating supposedly haunted locations that turn out to be gateways to whatever other world they use in that game. It would be like ghostbusters meets scooby doo meets persona and the game’s main color would be green.

College-age seems like a great way to mix it up

With backpacking, you normally don't stay too long at the same place
How would the SLink work? You meet random people and they decide to join your group? It's fine but pretty limiting otherwise
