I learned this last summer of 2018 when I became homeless from a stint of unemployment.

The local Salvation Army was full of cunts who treat you like shit and talk to you like a dog and they embezzle most of the money they obtain.
Full of felons, druggies and general weirdos. I unironically felt safer wandering the streets than going to a shelter. If you're a woman, its not that bad since you're separated from all the men, but if you're a guy don't expect to be treated like a human being.

what's the actual deal with the Panoramic Map?

1. get the satchel that increases carry capacity of meats at least if not the legend of the east satchel
2. kill alligators for big game meat
3. eat 2-3 pieces of meat before quick travelling/sleeping/missions to gain weight

Weight decreases/increases in stages. 1 is underweight, 10 is perfect, 20 is overweight. You can only move 1 stage at a time, unless Arthur has TB in which case you can drop 2-3 stages at once if you eat nothing.

Yes, but it's trickier because the game will only update your weight every half hour of real life time or so. So you can't just sit at a parlour devouring $5 meals and sleeping and be stage 20 weight in 15 minutes.

it feels like half of the clothing options don't fit his style.
modifying guns to be extravagant also don't fit his personality at all.

A lot of the clothing fits his style, his default outfits that he presumably had himself were pretty varied and there are some fancy options in there. I could see Arthur getting some animals carved onto his guns and shit as well, he's literally the camp's weapons guy and he shows an appreciation and taste for guns in the story there's no reason he wouldn't have custom guns.
