GE is shit. I only played Runescape back in 2002-2003 when I was 12 and finally went back to try out OSRS. I had a Rune Scimmy on my first day of playing. It's so fucking easy to make money and skip the entire early and mid game content because of the GE.

If there was no GE someone will just make and app or website that the vast majority of people use that basically does the same thing. The internet ruined MMOs because most people will always use outside tools. It's why most of us remember the early 2000s as the last time MMOs were good. We and most other players were young and naive and didn't use guides and wikis while playing.

The game already takes hundreds of hours to do anything significant, having to spend god knows how long just trying to get materials is mental. However, since so many more reliable sources of almost every material have been introduced, I do wonder if the game would work smoothly without GE. Perhaps if there were designated areas for different kinds of trade, for example West varrock for mining/Smithing, East varrock for herblore and farming, and so on

Literally just play the RS at your own pace you fucking idiots. The community being shitty min/maxers is not interfering with your ability to have fun. That's the best part of RS is that you make your own fun. If the min/maxers are making you feel bad thats a problem with you.

Pre-GE, if a Jew was being a Jew you could just call them out for being a Jew and not trade with them. Post-GE, you literally have Jews that get groups of shitters together so that they can artificially inflate prices and do insider trading, which is illegal as fuck IRL, but somehow not against the rules in RS. Merch clans were one of the biggest reasons I stopped playing the game.
