Does it have to be an MMO though? Most Isekais are more like single player RPGS. Shield Hero only has 4 people that would even be considered player characters so its hardly massive.

It's the one that everyone tries copying if they're not copying Sword Art Online. One of the best out there. It's the only one that makes active use of the stats, and doesn't drop them right away. The author clearly has played an MMO in her lifetime, instead of just hearing about it through anime.

Isekai makes writing fantasy stories easy. You get to use a modern character and the reader learns about the setting because the modern character has to go around asking the same questions the audience would be asking. Don’t really care for most isekai because of it but I think Shield Hero’s webnovel handled it decently, I really wanna pick up the light novels now.
