A little less variety when it comes to builds, but the combat is faster, and a bit more fun imo.
Lore, story and world-wise, I'd say they're both about as interesting as you want them to be.

As good, at least. Stays good throughout without any bs like Lost Izalith

Nothing anywhere near as bad as Lost Izalith or Crystal Cave, but you can tell they started running out of steam by Mensis. The whole area was really poor and MWN was a joke of a boss fight. Would have been much better if the Brain was not optional.

No. It's an 8/0 due to laughably bad ng+, covenants sucking, invasion and pvp being trash and chalice dungeons being boring rehashed lego rooms over and over.

Dark Souls 1 is better.

Dark Souls up to getting Lordvessel > Bloodborne > Demon's Souls > Dark Souls after getting Lordvessel > Dark Souls 3 > Otogi > King's Field IV > Dark Souls 2

Among the best this decade had to offer. Just needed some more arcane tools and more that should've been in the initial areas. So much of the good stuff is late game which is annoying for arc builds.

imo ds3 shits on the rest solely because of rosaria allowing you to respec your stats and change your appearance
in bloodborne for one character i had to re-beat half the game 3 times because there was no option to tweak the skin color which was critically important for the fashion i was doing
i've also had playthroughs where i would accidentally level a stat too high and i couldn't respend my souls on an actually useful stat
