I buy mostly digital for Switch, it's nice being able to just jump right into any of my games on a whim. Also I don't have to lug around a bunch of carts if I take it anywhere.
With how easily a company can decide to ban you over 'toxicity' I'm honestly more for physical then ever.
Me, why would I regret it?
Now that nintendo deleted all digital games on their wii store I have decided to go mostly physical again. Pretty sure all my PS3 games will disappear soon too
You know you can easily hack either of those and just download all the games?
I buy only digital because I don’t give a shit about trade ins or used games, have good internet, and have no shelf space for discs or toys.
I prefer digital over physical, but feel the US needs to pass better digital ownership laws regarding licenses.
It was good but now we have to pay taxes
Hey now
For all you know he has a mental condition that leaves him incapable of doing simple tasks like that!
Shame on you
>i like to call people faggot, cuck, nigger, etc on online matches and i'll get super offended when i'm banned even though i know it's against community standards.
you could just be a decent person and enjoy digital
>kill female player
>Your have banned, reason: rape
you know it'd be more like
>kill female player
>tell her to go back to the kitchen
>banned
you're the problem, not rules.
I just buy digital when games have an interesting sale, for the rest it's only physical
no, thats fucking stupid. what am i gonna do in 10 years when i want to play bloodborne but only have it digital and the ps4 store closes?
Ps3 psn store closing won't be the same since you can just set your ps3 to download games from the main site.
Why would you need the qtore for? because you deleteted it? why owuld you delete it in the first place?
More like
>kill female player
>Hey, better luck next time
>banned
Banter doesn't exist anymore. Its best to just stay silent when gaming these days.
cause the hdd is so fucking small and need room for new games or any number of reasons.
You'll be able to download the Bloodborne ISO and play it on your hacked PS4 by then silly
lol being this afraid of women and reluctant to be a decent person
By a fucking exterbal drive they cost nothing, store games in them and problem solved
>choosing one or the other, all or nothin
Nigga just get whichever is cheapest, when convenient
there will be some loophole in the contract that a future lawyer can exploit to make sony give you the game
Only because I've stolen like $600 in PS credit in the past three months from GS. Every time I post proof and how no one believes me so I've given up on mentioning it.
Worth noting I don't play console games online.
I found a GameCube game in a box the other day that's worth $200+. I'm sticking with physical.
Or you could just kill her and move on to the next target. I seriously doubt you send a message to each person you kill.
Digital only for piracy and game sharing with friends. Anyone buying digital only on their own is a mental abortion.
Case in point:
I buy both, not sure why'd you limit yourself especially when digital almost always costs more than physical.
bullshit
i don't regret it at all
i have too much shit
>posts the service with the fucking worst network and download speeds
I go half-and-half, usually based on how big the game is memory-wise. Small and short games, I'll download, but the rest I get a disc for.
I did, best parts for are it's way cheaper and easier to buy, no regrets
always buy new games physical and only buy digital on sale. mostly out of principle. but i also like having physical copies of games i love. for the games i do buy but end up not liking enough to hold onto the copy for collector's sake being able to get some trade in value or resale value on the item is always a plus. plus i also like picking up used games for cheap. works out even better when the used games can be flipped later on for new games. infact i haven't paid full price on a new game in a long time (i've been taking advantage of the trade 3 games of $10 trade in value or more for 1 new game deal at gamestop).
>playing Overwatch
You unironically deserve it.
>you could just be a decent person and enjoy digital
So much this, I've been playing online games since their inception and I haven't gotten so much as a warning for conduct. It's genuinely not hard to have a relatively pleasant and worry free experience online.
Digital is retarded unless you get a really good discount or you're positive its a game you will play for a long time. I'm an adult on a budget so getting money back from shit ill never use again is more valuable.
>on a budget
>buys things he doesn't need
>sells them later for a huge loss
yeah bro, you got it....
This. I sold my old games a few years ago and made almost 3 grand.
?????
I buy current games years later or on sale. I've literally bought games from gamestop on sale and then traded them back months later for all my money back. I'm not retarded.
.
Digital on console is a fucking scam.
>current games
>years later
you're honestly not helping yourself, but I understand your point
PC gamers did. Oh wait, they didn't have a choice lmao.
If only digital PC games were easier to crack and backup than console games
>"Dude you gotta buy physical if you don't then you're getting screwed"
>buy physical game
>have to install it onto the drive just to play it
>have to download day 1 patches or it's unplayable
>lucky to get coffee money for trying to sell it back off
You get fucked either way, at least my SSD has faster loading speeds than the disc reader.
You transferred your consciousness into the net?
Been more or less digital only for a few years now since I went exclusively PC. I really enjoy it. Can't think of a downside that isn't hyperbole or fear mongering about something we have no way of predicting right now.
Might regret it in a decade but right now the convenience is great and I'm spending less on new releases than I would physical.
I was forced to go digital only because PC went digital only, but I am forced to exclusively pirate because PC is digital only and I am not willing to pay for digital distribution. I have never and will never pay for a download.
Without fail. A few days ago I took $250 in steam and a razer mouse and my grand cost was $0, but hey, whatever floats your boat.
Unironically based. If more people had your attitude, I guarantee you PC would get physical games again in less than a year.
Or companies would just stop selling PC games
Current gen, excuse me. Last year i got tlou remaster 14.99, the evil within 9.99 and some other shot buy 2 get 1 then they raised the prices and i traded them in after completion to break even. So.e people are good at finding deals. Pic is steelbook pc games i got + steam key for 97 cents each.
And how'd you manage that? I assume you work there or know someone who does?
Is there a hack for the PS4 firmware 6.00?
Digital games also force you to download day 1 patches. Literally the only downside to physical is disc installs, and you can't sell digital used at all.
If you can't make even half back from selling physical used then you're either really bad at selling or buying sports games
>Digital games also force you to download day 1 patches. Literally the only downside to physical is disc installs, and you can't sell digital used at all.
That was literally the point brainlet, you're fucked with modern games in general so all the "flaws" people point out with digital also apply to physical.
I buy completely digital. The games I bought when I first got my PS4, I wish I had bought digitally instead.
There is one caveat, and that is pricing: digital games are just more expensive, even at launch. It's retarded. I think it's because retailers just wouldn't stock a game if they knew they would be undercut on the PSN store and that would kill a lot of sales.
>have to download day 1 patches or it's unplayable
Pure hyperbole. This only applies to AAA games with heavy online components most of the time. I've played every single game that I own on my PS4 without patches, and they all work. Sure you occasionally get a completely broken game like AC Unity that barely works without patches, but it's still not as common as you would think. This become even less of an issue if you play nip games, since their games will often not have any day one patches at all (even when it does, it's often for minor bugs). I wish digitalcucks would stop pushing this nonsense in every thread.
I only dislike optical physical like DVDs and Blu-Rays, because even when you're careful with them, it's very easy for a slight mistake to seriously damage them.
I'm exclusively digital for my PC games, and I buy a lot of small games digitally on my Switch, but for big games I tend to buy physical. I have a 32GB mSD for my Switch so Smash, XB2, BOTW and MK8 are all physical which saves a lot of space to use for smaller titles.
Yeah, I became pure energy, burning brighter than the brightest star.
I regret to live in a third world shithole where physical games cost 20 bucks more than digital. Of course i would love having physical copies but it's almost the same thing when it comes to reselling. You buy shit for 80 bucks, sell used at 20-30, you paid 60 for it. You buy used shit at 30-40, it's actually a great deal but no one sells used switch games at the moment.
Not true for PC. Almost every game I've purchased in the last year I've been able to get for less than the base MSRP for Deluxe Editions; MHW, RE2, DMC5 and DQIX. PC games are consistently cheaper than physical console launches.
Digital is only acceptable if you pirate.
You could stop being a clumsy sloven and take care of your belongings. DVD is one thing, but you have to be intentionally trying to damage a blu ray to damage one.
i used to steal a lot of stuff, but the cards i am pretty sure don't work until you ring them up. I had a friend who used to steal ms live cards but he didn't have an xbox, so we couldn't see if they work or not
he later found out they didn't
Liar. The cards don't activate until scanned at the cashier. Imagine telling lies on Yea Forums of all places. Source: I work there.
What he says is correct, as long as you keep the funds in Gamestop's ecosystem. As an example, a few days ago, you could buy Pokemon LG Pikachu from them and trade it back in for about $5 more with stacking promos. It traded in for $51. Two years ago, you could trade some Switch games back to them for $59.50.
Even when I post receipts no one believes me, so instead I offer you to do this: Go look at the price of the LG Pokémon games, subtract 33% for the old Elite pro they have (that i, for one, still have until 2025) and an easy to apply promo code. Go look at the current trade in value of it and add 70% for the promos that were stacking until yesterday, as one disappeared. Its base was $3 higher a few weeks ago, but you'll get the picture.
Their shit is fucked up around the 20 minutes they have maintainence and you can manipulate their API to allow multiple purchases to go through simultaneously with the same money.
Digital is extremely expensive, even if on sale for $1, when you take into consideration that you get nothing in return for your money.
That's what I was saying earlier. The only way this works is if someone is actively working with them or they work at the store.
I only buy digital these days. Physical is too much hassle and everything gets cracked anyway so I can grab that if everything goes up in flames. Physical or Digital, the problem moving forward is service based games. Everything is moving towards online integration in some form to try and stop you from playing the game outside of their control. You can't host your own servers any more, everything has some account linking with extra ingame unlocks for online stuff.
Correct, they don't work until scanned and paid for. I "pay" for them.
Not really. Multiplayer games are likely to have their servers shut down before the digital game store.
Blowjobs in the back room isn't true payment
This. I keep my PS4 offline like 90% of the time and I recently finished both RE2 and Ace Combat 7. All without downloading any day one patches. The people that claim that PS4 games are unplayable without patches must only play always online trash from Activision and Ubisoft. Most Japanese developers still release fully functioning games.
Atelier regularly cuts content reserved for a $70 DLC season pass and look at just how different Final Fantasy XV is.
Technically, it can be, but that isnt what I'm doing.
That's the disconnect. You say you're stealing but what are you doing do activate them? Paying with "cash?" So basic employee fraud?
Server dies
Bye bye games
Yup, I sure haven't gotten 200 hours of playtime out of MHW for my $50.
If only I'd gotten a plastic disc to insert. Maybe I'd have gotten something out of it.
You've got a lot more to worry about than losing some video games if the server just shuts down.
Sure, but you can still finish those games without buying DLC shit and without the QoL improvements. Saying that they're unplayable is complete nonsense.
I'm not an employee so by definition it can't be employee fraud. I use one of their trade in cards, worth say $55, to make 8 $50 purchases.
The only reason why I went to digital only is the ease of access and the far superior sales available for them. I also got fucking sick of local stores not having what I want.
Seems pretty fucking retarded to not have a mix of both digital and physical. Frankly just get whatever is cheaper. New games you are better of getting physical, like I bought Resident Evil 2 for $69, after completing the game and getting all the records/trophies,etc I sold it for $50. If I ever want to play it again, one day it will be on sale for like $10
Server dies
Uh oh you can't download an update to your "offline" disk game and it can't be launched
Then shut the fuck up.
Problem solved.
Why play a half finished game?
>older games are only worth buying from playstation store if discounted
>new games cost like 20% more on playstation store compared to retail
I don't know if it's just where I live but fuck that.
I have all the ps/xbox/switxh games digitally also have all the pc digital and all for FREE
I just buy whatever's convenient. If I know I'll play through a game once and never touch it again I go physical so I can trade it in afterwards, but digital's easier most the time. I'm obviously all digital on PC too, no complaints here.
No one should regret it, YET.
I love it currently but it definitely doesn't have the same secure feeling as owning physical copies.
God knows what will happen in the future.
Being this much of an attention seeker on Yea Forums. Sort yourself out user.
I got MHW for $0 because I pirated it. It's fine if you don't want a physical copy, that doesn't mean it is alright to pay for a download.
>superior sales
Refer to
>every game you buy you get 200 hours out of
Fine then go digital but i usually finish a game once ane never plsy again. Straight dumb to buy digital for me.
Because DLC is usually not worth buying and adds very little to the core experience most of the time? Are there people here that unironically buy DLC now?
I prefer physical media on consoles. I have some digital games on them though.
Most single player games don't actually need patches, you're just conditioned to believe this because you play shit AAA American "release it broken, patch it later" garbage. I played persona 5 and shining resonance refrain recently from disc and neither had a patch
You can't complain about that stuff if you pay for digital since you are voting with your wallet for it.
>Digital
Mainline Pokémon (not changing price for years unless it’s pure garbage and my collection is safer) and Multiplayer games
>physical
Single player games and indies so I can sell them when I’m done
I only buy digital when i catfish virgins into buying them for me
I'm still frugal with it, but since console and steam money isn't really a big deal to me, I buy a lot. I didn't buy Blue Reflection's wasteful season pass, but I bought DBZF's.
>each Yakuza games gets like 6 or 7 patches with every release
>they all just give out free DLC since most Yakuza games are already incredibly stable and can be played from beginning to end without updates
This is why I only pay for Japanese games these days.
>2019
>still paying for unfinished western trash
Why the fuck would anyone do this?
Based and nippilled
I'm 100% digital with over 200 games in my library.
It's called having money, twerp losers. Try it sometime.
Meanwhile, Atelier Firis on release was god awful and is still buggy.
I have money.
I don't have time to play 200 games, especially 200 mediocre PS4 games.
I call people nigger and spic and gook via psn messaging all the time.
I hope Sony finally figures out their game preservation strategy for PS5. I don't understand why PS1 games are only available for PS3 and PS Now is shit. Their PS2 library on PSN is pathetic as well and they rarely add any new ones on there.
you should've bought a better camera instead of these shitty games
There will always be exceptions of course. Doesn't change the fact that most nip games released on PS4 can be finished without patches. While this continues being a thing, there's no reason to buy digital on consoles outside of digital sales. Physcialfags still have most of the advantages on consoles, this isn't debatable.
>there's no reason to buy digital on consoles outside of digital sales.
Are you being stupid on purpose? How about not having to swap discs?
Fucking digital only faggot. Immediately goes into wahcism and pro-censorship.
>How about not having to swap discs?
Imagine being such a fat lazy fuck that this is actually a legit reason for giving up physical to you. I guess the 20 seconds it takes to do this must really be a burden on you, huh? Jesus, I hope you're baiting me.
When have you had to swap discs in the current gen?
I'm a physical guy but convenience of digital is nice.
I think he means when playing a different game
Ah, I suppose that is a valid point then.
post proof with a timestamp user
What you're arguing is not purchasing at all, not physical versus digital.
You don't own any of those digital games and $ony can take them away at any moment.
I did, its great not having a bunch of games lying around in my room.
Minimalist lifestyle
if you buy digital, you are the cancer that killed the videogames industry.
Physical is for poorfags that have to buy and sell used games to maintain their hobby.
Not so much regret as much as being aware of it. Digital means paying less, but I can't sell games back. With the switch in particular it's really bad because used games lose very little value. In Steam I only buy reaaally steep discounts. Rest I just borrow anyways so I don't care.
I buy both, i guess that most people buy digital these days because sales and you can play the game without having to put a disc or cartridge in your system. We even get physical releases of indie games.
However, most people buy physical on Switch, i guess it makes sense since people don't want to spend on a microsd card and you must be extra careful with your downloaded games
That's fucking stupid. A handheld is the kind of platform where you want digital games most, so you don't have to carry your entire library around. Consoles are better for physicals because you can just keep your games with the device.
Data shows that many Switch owners buy more physical than others
I buy digital for games I don't plan on sharing, physical otherwise
