Does anybody else find it funny that other characters make a big stink over Yuri killing people and then proceed to mow down waves of human enemies right after?

I thought the implication was that human enemies just get "knocked out" or something since they fall over

Oh y'know what, you're probably right. Still kind of silly though. Especially when Estelle says something like "Prepare to meet your doom!".

I don't recall them making a huge deal out of it, hell, Estelle even agreed that there was no way to bring them to justice.
I mean fuck Flynne, but who cares about Flynn.
Also Rita didn't seen to mind too much either.

Karol and patty seem bummed out about it. I care about flynn ;_; I know he's a moralfag but I like how out of place and autistic he is around the rest of the cast

Yeah, I mean getting hit with fireballs isn't something you just shrug off even if they don't technically kill them

Now I'm just imagining some guy lying on the ground after getting hit by stalagmite all fucked up with a broken spine, paralyzed for the rest of his life

They defend themselves. Yuri slaughters like 3 separate in cold blood while they're unable to defend themselves.

Lets say someone draws a knife on you and demands your money. You say no and he attacks you, you bean him over the head with a pipe you find and it kills him, thats self defense.

Now instead of saying no you pull a gun on him, he drops the knife, and then you blast his ass anyway, thats murder, because at that point he was not attempting to cause you any physical harm. Intentions and conclusions are not a basis to go on taking someones life. Would those men have kept being evil and doing fucked up shit if yuri hadn't killed them? Almost undoubtly, but the key word is almost, and in a just system they'd have gotten their deserved punishments, be it death or what may come. Yuri is a product of a broken system, a system that everyone WANTS to believe in, because they don't want to do what Yuri had to, because in an ideal system that would make them criminals. Yuri is simply stuck doing the job that nobody else wants.

I dunno, Patty didn't seem to judge him for it, sure Karol was bummed out.
Been playing the game for a few weeks, gotta say, Yuri might be my favorite Tales of- MC so far.
Not afraid to get his hands dirty, not indecisive either.

Most of the time it was self defense. There was a small plot point in Abyss.

Yuri murdering in cold blood is a different beast altogether

Flynn himself doesn't make too big of a deal out of it. From the start he's conflicted about being unable to being corrupt members of the imperial council and knights to justice and he only warns Yuri that he's going down a dangerous path rather than spouting total moralfag drivel at him and instantly apprehendiing him. By the end they come to the agreement that Yuri's extreme methods are an imperfect but acceptable compromise as long as Flynn is there to keep him in check while Flynn makes the effort to change the system from the inside.

Also, if you watch the prequel OVA, Yuri and Flynn end up killing a corrupt imperial researcher in self-defense. Flynn's already experienced and taken part in Yuri's vigilante-style determination to obtain justice since before the game starts.

there's a difference in criminal intent between self defense and pre-mediated murder

At the same time, its the only way to explain Rita's hyperviolence

Holy fuck the transition from act 2 to act 3 is awful. I have no motivation to keep going

I still prefer Lloyd because he's a lovable dumbass but Yuri is pretty cool. He's a little bit too much of a sarcastic, smug "cool guy" anime character at times but yeah it's cool that he has a bit of a dark side. I was genuinely surprised when he killed Ragou.

So if I walk up to a human enemy and blast them with the sorcerers ring rendering them defenseless before killing them does that count as defense? :^) nah I'm just kiddin'. You're totally right about that I just thought that it was visually kind of funny going from those scenes of Flynn ragging on him to fucking up generic thief and guild member enemies.

The party meanders for a while doing technobabble, but the last part from when they get to Aurnion to the end is worth it, soldier on.

Flynn and his backup dancers were the ones that made a big stink about it, not the party.
Judith is Judith.
Estelle hesitantly accepted it.
Karol and Patty didn't support it but understood why it needed to happen.
Raven and Rita were fine with cracking some eggs to make a society omelet.

Damn, I'll have to watch the OVA then. I remember enjoying the ToS ones back in the day.

I'm probably gonna play Abyss after I'm finished with Vesperia. It's interesting that they bring that up.

Honestly I just finished the Heracles section and hoo boy was that a boring slog. I think overall I prefer Symphonias dungeons and world map.

>Damn, I'll have to watch the OVA then. I remember enjoying the ToS ones back in the day.
The Vesperia one is a bit different in that it's a movie that shows Yuri's time as a knight rather than adapting the game. I really recommend watching it, it kinda spoils Alexei being a villain but you're beyond that part so you can already watch it. You can find it here for instance: nyaa.si/view/512717

That's just Estelle being cute

The implication is that its okay because those enemies are trying to kill them while the people Yuri killed where defenseless and begging for their lives.

well, I sort of found one

What did they mean by this?

something something War something something. But seriously that's always been a big problem with JRPGs. At least one Tales game give you the opprotunity to kill an opponent without going on and on about how killing is wrong except for Ridou, the one person you actually WANT to kill then you get moalized at by Gaius a guy who was about to commit genocide a year prior

Attached: maxresdefault (3).jpg (1280x720, 50K)

Gaius is all about self sacrifice. The genocide thing in xillia 1 was never about morals
