Unironically how can you positively represent LGBT characters in video games without being forced stereotypes. Most game characters in general are stereotypes as it isnt a medium well suited for deep story telling, outside of experimental indie titles. The whole dont even mention it thing makes no sense as then they might not as well even be gay to begin with, the Dumbledore method is retarded.

The only thing I can think of is a gay protagonist, so TLOU2 might be the first one.

Please try to stay in topic and not devolve into /pol/, even though its seemingly impossible.

Bill was already a well done gay character in TLoU before Cuckmann made the Niggy DLC that shoehorned in 'muh lesbeens'.

Don't do it like Tumblrspinner, where every single character in the game is some form of polyamorous queer. Really put a hurting on my enjoyment of the game.

The only right answer.

By not insisting that all reps be positive, for one. It’s a mindset that is terrible for this.

I dunno, make them fun, and don't make them so serious? We play games to have fun right? Characters should be likeable in order for us to have a good time right? So, maybe, they're gay but also they crack funny jokes, say impactful lines and also give the hero helpful upgrades ever now and then? And maybe don't subsequently parade them around like they're the USP of your game and you're so bold and subversive for doing it when it's already been a thing for a long time and everyone else is doing ti?

Bangalore goes to forced stereotype territory. Others are fine though.

If threads on Yea Forums have taught me anything, it’s that there’s simply no way to make a LGBT character that everyone will agree is a good character. It doesn’t matter how good the writing is.
