Do you think the DLC/patches will make jump force worthwhile?

FUCK NO

Fuck no

If the patch is downloading a completely different game, sure

I mean come on man, Kaiba is getting in. this is the first time he's ever been in a fighter

Nah, there is nothing that can really be done at this point as the game is fundamentally flawed, down to the bones. Maybe someday it'll have so much content for such a cheap price that it might be worth it just for fan service reasons (like Xenoverse) but I don't see them sticking with this game for that long.

Even DoA6's future looks more promising

______ ___

Ok can i have a rundown,
how shit is this game ? aside from the visuals who look like those shitty "4k remake of ocarina of time" nr 34687

I was gonna buy it when it went down significantly but is the gameplay really that bad?

Why are games programmed so crappily nowadays?

no
anime 3d fighter are made to be flashy trash so that any casual faggot can get into them
if you want a good one just buy soul calibur VI

it's fine if you like mashing buttons but atrocious to play competetively.

i got the game on launch day, and boy was i expecting something different
the camera jumps around like it's trying to follow a fucking pebble that flies away
the roster is really small for how many characters there are in every anime and the "supers" are just flashy at best but i dont feel the punch behind them
Also why the fuck are Jotaro and dio the reps for jojo again?
they could have gone with a lot more characters than just those 2
>No giorno/fugo/mista or Narancia
>No joseph, cesar or Lisa Lisa
>No Polnareff

What makes it awful for competitive play, if you don't mind expanding?

>no Kinnikuman
I'm not touching this pile of shit, not even gonna pirate it.

That's even worse than what i thought, i knew jump stars and burning blood were bad but i didn't know they had mechaniics that literally rewards mashing

The Kill la Kill game is going to be a better, more balanced arena fighting game than any of these Spike Chunsoft garbage titles.

Only part 1-4 are shonen jump you jojofag

thanks doc

KLK looks pretty bad aswell desu.

but Lisa Lisa, Cesar and Polnareff are from part 2-3, heck, place Speedwagoon somewhere there and i'd be happy

thanks doc

no, it looks mediocre as fuck

Are there no ultra jump characters in the game? At all? That's fucking sad.

Bad art style and bad animations same thing as Mvci and it died fast who thought a realistic art style in an anime game set in the real word was some great idea Americans would love?

i'm gonna pirate it eventually just because of Kaiba and Yugi.

Mods will.

>they give up on the game and open for mods
>Grande padre, regla de todos, el golpe and gohan blanco get added
>they have more love and detail put to them than the official characters

The modding community is a beautiful thing.

honestly I always thought the idea was that they were supposed to look like action figures that came to life so I didnt mind the artstyle that much. although I will say I absolutely fucking hate the special effects that came out every attack, putting those annoying gaudy bright sparks that you see on every unpolished unreal engine turd after every hit connects makes me fucking nauseous

To give you actual details:

Defensive options are far too strong and refresh far too quickly, resulting in a whole host of issues.

1 - real combos are less viable and braindead special move chains are encouraged by the escape system which lets you just get out of combos if you have any stamina at all. If your opponent is slow enough you may even have time for a free punish as a result of LOSING NEUTRAL
2 - Pressure is pretty much meaningless as the only mixup is between regular attacks, and charged attacks and charged attacks are extremely easy to react to and punish. Combined with #1 the most efficient playstyle is to never ever make the first move, keep running backwards to make sure you have stamina if you get caught, and just wait for your opponent to do something.
3 - Characters with disjointed attack hitboxes like Yugi have a massive advantage as even their most unsafe moves leave them a considerable distance from the enemy as the thing actually attacking (Dark Magician) disappears

That's not even touching on CaC's being allowed in all online modes and the fact that most characters can do 60-100% if they start a combo on someone without any stamina to escape
