Are we finally willing to admit this shit was stupid...

Are we finally willing to admit this shit was stupid? Like I know the first few months of the switch was a little rough but we're past that we don't have to keep pretending this shit is good. It was up there with people who bought launch ps3's trying to say Lair and Heavenly Sword were good.

I Will never understand why this game is so shitposted here.

It's probably my favorite fighting game. If I had more time to devote to it on a competitive level, I'd still be playing it, and I hope they decide to go for a sequel.

I can't help but think the majority of people talking badly about it either never played it, or never learned how to actually play it, and are basing their experience off of getting beaten in low level gameplay and not bothering to learn why.

Yeah fun is so stupid
FUCK FUN
Now lets go buy more sony products

this shit is too fucking tough
I bought it three months ago thinking the skill ceiling was low
then i get my shit kicked in by everyone who's been playing since launch

My guess is either pokkenfags or splatoonfags.

No one ever cared about Pokken

Nah, fuck you. This game is amazing and has great characters and sold very well for a fighting game. Keep seething tho, maybe then we will believe the game flopped.

It was and always will be just a filler title between games people actually cared about.

Shovelware
BUT ON THE SWITCH!

It came out in the first 3 months of the switches life of course it didnt flop. People thought fucking Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was good because it came out in the first year of the Xbone and PS4's life cycle

COPE

I watched a couple of tournaments for ARMS and it looked fun. Shame its dead.

What am I coping for?

You are unreasonably mad for this game doing well that you had to make a thread 2 years after release. Its sad.

I loved ARMS. Only things I would add is a nice story mode and character specific super moves. Not just that flurry punches stuff. Also maybe some more online modes like being able to play ARMS test online. I had the most fun with that mode.

Pokkenfag here, I don't mind Arms, and i'm one of maybe 4-5 people on Yea Forums at most who actually cares about Pokken, so I doubt it's us.

It's just general shitposting and console-war shit, I feel.

That being said, I do think the relative amount of attention Arms gets is a bit undeserved. Functionally speaking both Pokken and Arms have similar amounts of content, primarily being designed around MP with little to do for SP, yet from a mechanical perspective there's a lot less going on with Arms then Pokken, yet Pokken gets less attention

That's really not a problem with Arms though, moreso just that Pokken is insanely underrated, with it never having gotten any sort of big marketing push, and what marketing it did get protraying it as this casual arena fighter, when in reality it's a legit fighting game with attack height systems, multiple attack buttons, just frames, cancels, etc; and a really well balanced and good playing one, at that.

Legit my favorite fighting game of this gen alongside KI, and nobody cares because it's too much of an actual fighting game for casuals, and the console it's on and retarded marketing means the FGC ignores it.

Just cause you say someone is mad doesn't mean it's true. You're mad that this thread exists why else would you be getting all worked up

At least your game wasn't wagglan shit disguised as a deep competitive fighting game.

Then why did you made this thread if you weren't for some reason mad that this game did well. You could just ignore it.

>Character specific super moves
Yes please. Keep spring man using the flurry rush and give everyone else a unique special attack. I'd love to see Minmin's dragon arm turn into a real looking dragon head and fire a flamethrower out of it or something. Mummy could shoot his bandages forward and do a damaging life stealing grab.

>buzzword buzzword buzzword
If this is the criticism that AntiARMSfags give then they must not be very smart

Nah, you're just low IQ.
ARMS is only for high IQ players.
Otherwise you will just keep losing against both humans AND the CPU above level3.

Then why did you come here all worked about nothing if your aren't mad that someone said a negative thing about ARMS?

I'd prefer it if Spring Man did a really powerful punch like this. The rush just seems way generic.

I want Arms 2.

Good idea!

Why are you still replying if you weren't angry that someone disgrees with you? Again, you can just ignore the game and its fans instead of being the one that made the thread in the first place.

I think the rush suits spring man, it plays off the "springyness" of his arms. A solid hard punch like that doesn't suit Spring man at all.

Not really, it was really enjoyable as a fighting game and brought some new ideas that were pretty interesting.
The biggest issue is it didnt have enough to justify a full $60, even after the updates. A little bit of single player content would have done a lot to add to the value.
Honestly, it should have been either $40 or maybe even included free with Nintendo Online
Still, one of my favorite new fighting games of the past couple of years.

Honestly I don't care but if I don't say anything you'll think you're right and you've won. This isn't even about ARMS anymore I'm just saying that saying someone is mad doesn't make them actually mad that's not how the world works. You don't have super powers that make people mad by just saying it. You're being silly so just admit it this is a battle to see who has the last word

>new Nintendo ip
>good switch game
>not on any other system
It's the same reason why anyone shits on Nintendo here.

The character designs were so ugly it turned me off of the game entirely. I had the same problem with Splatoon, and I hope Nintendo stops using putrid art for their multiplayer titles.

That would be helpful for sure, it'd make the use of each combination of ARMS different for each character even more.

>Functionally speaking both Pokken and Arms have similar amounts of content
Eh, not really. ARMS does have a lot more variety in gameplay all things considered.

Why not both? Have him use the rush as a start and then have him make a big "Spring Punch!" or something like that at the end.

So rush and then a wind up cinematic if you land most of the rush hits?

I'd like some close-range melee attacks if we ever get a sequel, or at least some other basic offensive option besides the full commitment of a punch or grab. Unique moves for each character would be great too

I didn't buy it but I had fun playing it, lol

It was fun, but it was a fighting game so it was doomed from the start. Also small roster, even with added fighters.

And yet they added proper controls for the game and you still whine about motion controls.

>can't criticize games [arbitrary amount of time] after release
What kind of fucked-up mindset is that? Is this the epitome of "old game good, new game bad"?

Yep

You might as well start crying about how ET atari was bad.

You can't say bad things about ARMS

Are you arguing that it wasn't?

You can't say bad things about any game because of drones.

He's not saying you can't criticise it, he's saying you're mad about a harmless game for no reason.

It's a ton if fun, but sixty is too steep for what you get. I paid thirty and was very satisfied.

It could use some more robust single player options. The world and gameplay are SCREAMING for a beat em up style mode

Only needed a bigger moveset to not make it the wait&punish shit it became

I'm not the first guy, and they didn't seem mad at all.
All-capsing "COPE" however, does make a person sound like they can't handle other people's opinions.

Toldosaurus Rekt

No, it's the Pretendos.

New Nintendo IP syndrome is the tendency for people to pretend that every new Nintendo IP is doomed to failure.
