Shadow of Tomb Raider is the best TR since Angel of Darkness. Prove me wrong.

>entire emphasis on exploration
>deep, immersive and sometimes very articulate environment
>beautiful detailed landscapes and the setting is very reminiscent of the first TR
>nicely made riddles, lot of tombs everywhere as a good TR should have
>shooting sections placed where they should be in order to not make it seems like Uncharted

Rise was better

Rise setting was boring and not as complex as Shadow.

I still enjoyed it, however Rise was better. The main flaws are:
>uninteresting quests/story
>talent points feel worthless
>machine gun which you get early is the best weapon of the game
>forces you to wear certain costumes to interact with people
>physic system is flawed. You will fall to your death often even though Lara can perfectly make the jump

I just beat the first Tomb Raider in the new trilogy. Around the 75% mark, I started to rush the game and skip the optional tombs. I own the 2nd one. What am I in for?

>>forces you to wear certain costumes to interact with people
No problem with that, I liked the aztec outfit.

The last two Tomb Raiders took it too far. The game should be about exploration, not supernatural bullshit. It hit Uncharted levels of retardation.

Seriously what the fuck is up with the facial expressions? Someone had to make these and the guys were just like ''yeah sure that doesn't look like porn at all, this is good go ahead make more of those faces when you Lara gets impaled through the throat and torso''

A better game

>implying you wouldn't bang this fine lady as hard as possible

first one was awesome but too short which makes rise the best one in the serirs.

From Steam Reviews

However, such additions are buried by a bunch of issues that slowly but surely chips away the enjoyment of the game for me. First of all, the environment does a bad job communicating with players on where Lara can go. For instance, there are areas where the ledges on the walls look like it is within Lara's reach to grab onto. However, since the game does not want players to go onto those walls, Lara suddenly forgets how to grab and does nothing when I jumped onto those ledges. This makes moving and navigating around the game environment really inconsistent (and this inconsistency appears in a lot of other different forms in game), and it has gotten to the point in which I usually have to go through trial and error to get to the right path, which gets really annoying.

Furthermore, the upgrade system in this game feels kinda useless and uninteresting. I remember getting excited when I get a new skill point in the 2013 Tomb Raider game, because the each upgrade in that game feels important. In this game, there are upgrades that are just pointless, like the one that provides visual aid to indicate that the player is pointing at the enemy's head. Why?? Also, the way the combat levels are designed is not fun for me either.

didn't play any of the nuTRs except the first, but do you even remember the ending of 3? If there was a canon for TR, multiple ancient culture's gods and myths are all real
how bad could it be?

part 2

Next, the puzzles are so uninspiring... I think of all the puzzles that I have played in this game, I have only really enjoyed 1 (the one where you have to rotate the mirrors around), The rest are either just too bland and straightforward, or too convoluted that makes solving it feels more like I guessing game. For instance, there is a hidden tomb in Cenote where Lara discovers the giant Spanish ship. Cool, that looks awesome! But it's never clear on what Lara is supposed to do to solve that puzzle. So I just basically ran around different parts of the ship and do what I think the game wants me to do, and "solve" the puzzle that way. Yayyy, soo interesting...

Furthermore, story and dialogue is not great either. I think there is only one part in the story that I really enjoyed, but for the most part, I watch the cutscenes with a poker face. In the 2013 game, I remember shedding a tear for Alex when he sacrificed himself for Lara, and for this game I feel nothing for any of the character, including Lara herself.

Lastly, this might be just my computer issues, but there are really annoying optimization bugs. There are parts in which the lighting gets messed up, and the light flickers as if the sun were a broken light bulb. It makes the game really irritating to look at.

this game was complete trash. It had a boring storyline. All the enemy fights are setup for you to win. the graphics weren't that good. nu-lara has a fat ugly face and no tits.

>All the enemy fights are setup for you to win
like ltierally every game ever?

>Since Angel of Darkness
AoD was fucking trash, what the hell?

I don't like new Lara Croft. Her character sucks.

>the graphics weren't that good
lol

on rails platforming games like uncharted sucks in general

>since Angel of Darkness
the worst game in the entire franchise?

well I don't. what's the point of having so many modern outfits if you can't wear them.
