A sequel in what regard? Neku's story wrapped up pretty well before a New Day. I wouldn't want them to just reintroduce drama into his life for the sake of using them again.

If Sora is a Player, where is his Player pin? Why did he seem so confused? Neku and his memory loss are an anomaly, normally the rules and such are explained to Players before the choose if they want to play. Josh knows Sora so I doubt he'd be that much of a dick to just drop him there, assuming he wants Sora's help with whatever shit is going down in Shinjuku.

Maybe Sora was never supposed to end up there in the first place and since Josh has some omniscient abilities he saw Sora fading away and somehow managed to pull him to Shibuya for a second chance

TWEWY is clearly the result of a person’s vision and passion, it’s holistic and complete. It’s the build up of a person’s love of a neighborhood and city and mood that was fully realized.
Making a sequel would ask for a new wave of that passion and investment from a creator and it’ll probably just end up being a more shallow copy of TWEWY rather than a new experience that brings that same wave of intrigue and interest and immersion that the first gave me

The series is pretty fun but the story is absolutely retarded (which is part of the charm for me). Just go in with an open mind and you’ll probably have a fun time.

Fuck, there are so many things that support the theory like Josh explicitly having the power to travel between the realms of the living, sleep, and death, like the Power of Waking and everything you've mentioned. Plus how Shinjuku is suddenly important in TWEWY and that's where Riku wakes up, but something just doesn't add up for me.

I'm still thinking it isn't the same Shibuya, a different dimension like Another Day at the very least.

Plus Yozora and the guy in the black coat also seen in Shinjuku are big question marks

You say that like no other cities have their own unique style that you could base a game around. It'd be one thing if the story of Neku and crew hadn't wrapped up nicely too, but it did and at the very least a sequel should have focused on new characters with maybe Neku acting as a mentor or something at most. The character growth was a bigger aspect of the story than the setting, although both played off each other I'll admit.

Maybe the worlds of TWEWY and Verum Rex merged somehow.

That is certainly possible. I know Disney doesn't allow their own worlds to merge but I'm sure this is ok. Not like Verum Rex is even an actual thing yet anyway so this is basically like FF characters in Radiana Garden.
It still begs the question of why Yozora appears in Toy Box as a video game character though and how Riku got there.

If you prefer gameplay, DS all the way. Uses the dual screens in a fantastic way, and once you become good, you'll be playing on both screens in a rhythm for satisfying results. Downsides, the music is compressed and 1 minute loops, but it's the original and still a fantastic OST.

If you just want to experience the story and care more about the aesthetics than gameplay, Switch. Improved visuals, and the OST is massive (I still recommend the original over the New Switch OST in the settings), and high quality full length versions of the songs.

I highly recommend the DS version first, though the Switch one is passable when playing co-op motion controls with one person. Menus are very janky with motion controls, however, and having to re-connect co-op so often is annoying.

Switch has an added post story, which is basically a giant sequel hook and has a noticeable drop in quality compared to the base game.

I kind of get why people wanted a new cast of characters after A New Day, but I think there could have been a better way to try new ideas without abandoning Neku as a major character.

Well the final boss of the new day is a "Dream Eater" so I can see Nomura pushing more TWEWY in KH.

I'd hate to say it, but this game is retardly bad. I'm 5 days in and just barely getting by due to the horrible controls and broken combat system. Controling two characters when one needs to use the stylist is next to fucking impossible and the writing is like some emo anime mellodrama. Yea Forums is wrong again as usual.

They wouldn't have done A New Day unless they had future plans going forward, if it's a new game or part of kingdom hearts though that remains to be seen.

Nomura didn’t have much to do with the gameplay dude, other than helping throw together ideas for the dual screen gameplay and for TWEWY making use of the DS hardware.

Twewy will never be popular unless Square start putting effort into the game's ports and game-play needs to be changed to be less obtrusive, it works for the DS but because it designed around the DS both ports lose the partner mechanic. I like twewy but unless Nomura or whoever directs 2 if it ever happens need to change the gameplay not be touch focused. Also don't have your final boss be a bullet hell after Uzu and Kirya already did it better.
There's so much clothing in twewy to the point that is extremely unreasonable

TWEWY is too good to be a part of KH, I hope it's not made part of the same canon.

It already was as of Dream Drop Distance. That wasn't a cameo or alternate version of characters, those are the same exact ones that appeared in TWEWY (but not the another day ones)

It seems Nomura is gonna put it in the next KH game along with versus XIII. I guess it's his way of venting since SE doesn't want him to do anything besides KH and FFVII remake for the time being.

That way it'll just be watered down and probably rehashed for new audiences, it's a shitty compromise. I hope they at least get Ishimoto to make some new tracks for whatever the fuck that game will be.

Well Square Enix seems to be pushing Nomura pretty hard this past decade so hopefully he can use some influence to push back at them for a sequel.
Though what they would put hypothetical sequel on is the next question. I guess Switch would be the most likely candidate.

I'm thinking Hype Chan is going to be Neku's Partner actually. I'm also thinking she'll be deaf or will have lost her sense of hearing as her entry fee to give kinda act as the final communication barrier Neku has to overcome, someone he literally can't speak to.
