FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE improves upon the classic FINAL FANTASY XII, now more beautiful and easier to play than ever. The high-definition remaster introduces several modern advancements, including reconstructed battle design and a revamped job system.
We've added all-new features to the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One versions: - License (job) reset function - Customize the jobs of your party as you desire, to match whatever situation you're in. - Gambit sets now increased to three sets from one - Improved New Game +, now you can carry over items that were obtained in a previous play-through. - Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION)

Do you think the PS4 version will get these as a patch?
Dominic Murphy
Most likely.
Grayson Peterson
ITS NOT FAIR I BOUGHT IT ON PS4 AND PC DAY 1 REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Daniel Brown
This shit still being 50 fucking bucks on PC is retarded, especially when theres a SE sale right now. FFX/X-2 was always 30 bucks and is two fucking games. All the other ports are 20.
Leo Thompson
So who the FF artist now?
Henry Foster
When does it come out?
I’ll buy it if it’s easier. Hope they do the same for X.
Juan Smith
>Improved New Game +, now you can carry over items that were obtained in a previous play-through. How the fuck is that not standard for NG+?
>- License (job) reset function >- Customize the jobs of your party as you desire, to match whatever situation you're in. >- Gambit sets now increased to three sets from one >- Improved New Game +, now you can carry over items that were obtained in a previous play-through. >- Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION) But can I choose to play with the original job system?! Are they really THAT ashamed of the original version? The original was much better.
Tyler Bailey
It'd be broken, for one. >carry Dark Matter over into new game >carry various motes and equipment into new game Although it'd be cool to carry the Tournesol into the new game. That's actually pretty cool. Once the Switch stops being shit, I might get this with it.
William Cook
>Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION) >The Switch cant run a PS2 game at 60 >The mighty 1X can only occasionally reach said heights.
Easton Campbell
I have to say. This spunky gal absolutely destroyed my younger self as I couldn't stop beating the meat.
>Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION)
Get fucked Nintentodlers. Switch is a piece of shit and even fucking Square Enix knows it. You know you are fucked when Senixs shits on you
Grayson Bell
>modern console can't play a 15 year old PS2 game at 60 fps even in 720p ayy lmao
Benjamin Nelson
>carry over items in new game+ who cares? You can get shit like deathbringer 10 hours into the game and it one shots everything until the very end, its essentially the same sort of game breaking
Eli Cruz
she never really did it for me. her attire in ff12 ws kinda meh.
now if were talking about her dancer look in the ds game now thats a different story
Joseph Williams
>- License (job) reset function I'm pretty sure the other versions already had it >- Customize the jobs of your party as you desire, to match whatever situation you're in. Does it mean that people were losing even when all the cheats were turned on? And why have a reset button for jobs if you need to change between them? >- Gambit sets now increased to three sets from one Good, it saves time >- Improved New Game +, now you can carry over items that were obtained in a previous play-through. The entire point of '+' is to make it harder >- Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION) Up to?
Ian Bennett
I don't understand why a remaster of a PS2 game needs the power of an Xbox One X to run at 60fps.
Jack Clark
>Using Deathbringer That's a nice sword you got there
I'm tempted to get the physical edition, I really like the cover art for both
Sebastian Johnson
>- Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION) This read like a fucking bait. FFS Square wtf are you doing?? Just hire fucking durante, he specifically made a studio for devs like that. UP TO 60fps (so not even constant 60 fps) on Xbox One X, fucking X.
>steam >get a shit load of ff love >nearly every ff mainline game on steam >several spin offs and sequels
>all of a sudden focus on switch and xbox >still no ff1+2, tactics, or dissidia on steam >still no tactics spin offs, crystal chronicles, or crisis core >still no bravely default or kingdom hearts or star oceans other than 4 >well probably get the shitty arcade dissidia instead of the superior psp dissidias
I guess im asking to much for non ff games but this is really pissing me off
SE can't into optimization. All their games run and look like complete ass on all platforms. KH3 is the most recent disaster.
Josiah Young
user, its not on ps4 either.
Andrew Williams
Why do they bend over backwards to give this port good stuff, but FFIX is a glitchy mess, FFVIII is non-extanat, and all the 2D games are absolute monstrosities?
Hudson Phillips
What I hate about almost every FF after 9 is that they always have some dumb "system" they add that's almost always convoluted and not fun. Also the series has become too linear. 10,12 and 13 were the best examples if this.
Juan Foster
is the NG+ in that game rebalanced around you having end-game gear and levels?
Isaiah Martin
>Also the series has become too linear. 10,12 and 13 were the best examples if this >12 >Linear
I love 12 so much. it's the last square game that is untainted by noumura's autism
Hunter Fisher
Just like with KH3, when the update comes for PS4, you'll be able to get 60fps on PS4pro by forcing 1080p.
Anthony Davis
>Adding features to make an already piss-easy game even easier The absolute state of modern gaming.
Mason Nelson
I doubt it. The ps4p couldn't handle it.
Ian Taylor
The fuck? Nomura had nothing to do with 13 aside from designing Lightning, that was all Toriyama. He also had nothing to do with 14 and was taken off of 15 so singling out Nomura is fucking irrational.
Thomas Cruz
Cool. Are they fixing the mess that is the FFX remaster, too?
Cameron Hill
This. The most he has ever done in any FF game was co-write the story for VII with Sakaguchi. The rest he was just a character/monster designer.
Liam Peterson
he needs to get the boot like kojima did all the pompous 90's faggot directors need to die off already. Mianigger too.
wtf are you on about you already got ff 12, its one fucking game dont worry steam will always have your little anime fap games for ya kido
Matthew Mitchell
This is my favorite final fantasy game, all the characters aside from Vaan were pure quality, the job system is great if you're not retarded and the story is super grounded and realistic (like you can understand everyone's motivations).
If the nips weren't such unmanly insecure faggots this would have been the best game ever made.
Cameron Mitchell
>50 fucking bucks
Why is everything so fucking expensive on this god damned console? Even FFIX is worth 20 bucks.
Jack Stewart
>The original was much better Fucking based opinion. I hated the new job system. Idiots couldn't create their own canon so they had to make the jobs simpler for them. Fucking casuals.
Aaron Lewis
Star ocean? you can emulate the 1st 3 and the last two are on pc. Like seriously you sound like a bitch.
Chase Morris
I dropped Zodiac Age when I got to Archades. I was enjoying the game, but I was in the middle of moving states and ended up moving on to something else after getting settled in a couple months later. I have a vague memory of what was going on in the plot. Should I pick it back up?
Wyatt Martin
I don't understand why they don't just have an option when starting a New Game whether you want to use the original License Board or the Job System one. Seems like a no brainer.
Gavin Reed
Same. FFXII was a really really good game
Levi Thompson
>- License (job) reset function >- Customize the jobs of your party as you desire, to match whatever situation you're in. >- Gambit sets now increased to three sets from one
This all sounds like it just breaks the game even harder than ZA did, so they'll have to beef up some of the enemies to compensate.
THREE sets of gambits = literally just start the fight with Yiazmat and come back in an hour.
Gabriel Peterson
>THREE sets of gambits = literally just start the fight with Yiazmat and come back in an hour. Still need to go into menu to switch between them I think?
Jordan Price
They most likely lost the source code/high res static BG assets to all their old games pre-FFX.
Liam Hill
They also lost FFX, if the look of the remaster serves to anything.
What happened with FFIX, though? Was thinking of getting it once it got a sale.
Brody Bailey
Thank god the waifu project makes it way easier for modders to undo that mistake then.
The original licence board practically had defined jobs anyway. They were just distributed across the board, and hidden in a way that made you have to find them and making educated guesses based on the path towards them. Of course the common criticism I hear is that the original licence board carries with it the potential for every character to learn every skill and that it would somehow make every character the same. But I don't get that, the characters aren't the same even so and have different stats in the end anyway. Which makes them differently suited for certain roles, and can take different approaches towards the same roles. And at that point in the game where you've literally fully unlocked the entirety of the board with all characters, then what of it? At that point you deserve the choice that comes with it. >b-but it breaks the game! So what? As if all the other Final Fantasy games weren't highly breakable too, and as if the new job system isn't breakable regardless. And even if you do make that argument, just rebalance the game. Discarding the original system into the trash is just a knee-jerk reaction and way overdoing it. For all its flaws, at the very least it gave the game some character. Forcing the new system onto the game kind of leaves me feeling like it's a jack of no trades, master of none, since it's just a generally awkward combination. You can tell that it wasn't originally designed for the system, and does that make the game automatically trash? By no means no, and I can even see how some could prefer it somehow. But you can tell that it's not doing it as well as the Final Fantasy games that were designed that way from the beginning, and now it doesn't even have the system the game actually was designed with initially for the initial release. So now you're kind of lacking the charm of both.
Oliver Bailey
>> Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION) POWER
its better to just emulate ff1-9 user the steam versions are all mobile ports save for ff7 and ff8 which arent great and require modding to be comparable to the playstation counterparts
Xavier Lewis
Switch is exactly the same as the PC version, with the exact same bugs. SE are lazy fucks.
Bentley Hall
The true test of raw power. A PS2 game.
Aaron Cook
PS4 version has all that already and it runs at60fps lads
Luke Morris
It’s ok user, 10 and 13 are very linear. Maybe you just misheard one day
Gavin Hall
>require modding to be comparable to the playstation counterparts
?
Kevin Russell
>I don't care for him being in the narrative >if he were removed entirely I would have enjoyed the game much, much more >I don't care >if he were removed (...) I would have enjoyed the game much, much more Huh?!
Carson Sullivan
Good post. It's baffling how stupid critics of the original game are. They were legitimately complaining about a JRPG trying to become more "role-playey" than others before it. They always complain about how most JRPGs are linear and you always have to follow the golden path, but the original FFXII gave you choices and it was up to you to decide if you wanted 3 characters with two-handed swords at the end of the game or not. Choices man, hard concept I know.
Henry Hall
Yes it is. All that stuff was patched in to the PS4 not too long ago, and the Pro does 60fps.
Bentley Cruz
Yes it is, eat shit nintentard
Tyler Ward
theyre the original pc ports from back in they day and dont support xinput controllers hell i think theyre even missing some from the console layout because you cant run away from battles normally in ff8 for sure ff8s pre rendered backgrounds dont scale for shit bc SE lost the originals and the whole game looks like shit honestly and someone is remaking or fixing all the backgrounds iirc as a passion project i mean its not a huge deal and you can fix both with mods and then some but my recommendation is to stay away from ff1-9 on steam and just emulate them
>Pro does 60fps >Implying the base PS4 can't >Base PS4 can't run ps2 game on 60fps Amazing
Juan Cooper
the original system was broke as fuck if you played more than halfway through the game, by the time you were at the end everything on the board was unlocked and every single character was almost exactly the same so you basically had to self-impose "roles" on the party instead of everyone just being a master at everything
Grayson Williams
colloquially, "I don't care for [object]" is a phrase synonymous with "I don't like [object]
but you're an autist like vaan except without abs, and who's particularly unattractive
Julian Carter
>PS4 version has all that already and it runs at60fps lads No it doesn't why are you lying on the internet? The PC version is currently the only version that runs at 60FPS and neither the PC version or PS4 version has those features listed.
Luke Wright
>License (job) reset function >Customize the jobs of your party as you desire, to match whatever situation you're in.
Those two features are literally cancer.
Luke Howard
Base Xbone cant run it at 60fps either, only the XboneX can. SE is something special when it comes to incompitence.
Kevin Sanders
yeah and everyone else failed it lol
William Wilson
>to self-impose "roles" on the party Not hard when you've got limited actions and with the characters being differently competent at the roles. You won't play your best attacker as a heal slut just because he has mastered healing. Likewise you won't play DPS with your best healer just because.
Of course you self impose roles on them. You do the same thing when you choose a restricted class to assign to them. This just gives you more choice.
Ian Cruz
You can run away from combats in FF8, it's just that they fucked up the UI if you switch buttons around on your controller. Also the guy who is remaking the backgrounds has remade all but Balamb Garden, because of some weird bug so that's the only place that's vanilla backgrounds. But it's not the same guy made monsters and battle backgrounds look better
>switch cart This game is like 42 fucking gigs on ps4. How are they fitting it on a switch cart? Also if they fit FF12 on a cart why the FUCK is X/X2 half cart and half download?
Jayden Bennett
>steam >>>>>>>get a shit load of ff love Laughs in FFV and FFVI mobile port. Fuck Chrono Trigger was in the same boat but Square Respected CT enough to fix it
What are you on about? XII Zodiac was 50 on release for ps4 and pc as well.
Bentley Reyes
What does?
Dylan Green
It's probably getting an obligatory download. The real question is why can't I just buy FFX-2 on its own.
The filtered background looks kinda okay (not digging the result on the bed sheets and it's so minimal I'd rather not do anything at all), but that Squall is ghastly.
Sebastian Rivera
the smudgy 2D background textures w/ high resolution squall standing on it
Caleb Anderson
yeah i knew you could still run away just not normally the config menus make it clear its a port from over a decade ago and i honestly didnt feel like playing anymore after i finished modding the shit sad ff8 gets no love cause its my favorite one
Still damn expensive! Switch games take a lot longer to drop prices on second-hand, too.
Grayson Kelly
>wearing someone elses cum sock
James Ross
This game felt way too easy with the new dual class system. I want the old one back even if it slowed character building down
Christopher Diaz
Just get an exploitable switch, SX Pro and never pay for a game again.
Sebastian Carter
Sure.
Are they still banning people or is there a workaround?
Colton Wright
Characters are a different mod, pic related, you can choose between upscaled, and two other character "fixes" people have made High res Squall is a different texture pack It does get a lot of love from people who want to make it look better though
I’m not Final Fantasy XII for the fourth time. I failed to beat it the other three times, I doubt i’ll beat the game if i buy it again. Story is absolute unengaging ass. I’ll stick with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and then move to Tales Of Vesperia and Octopath Traveller. Then I’ll be sure not to miss out on Dragon Quest XI: Echoes Of An Ellusive Age when it releases for Switch. Fuck this game, Final Fantasy X was better and even Final Fantasy XIII was
Benjamin Taylor
>Story is absolute unengaging ass >I’ll stick with Xenoblade Chronicles 2
>no one cares exactly, nobody liked 12, It goes from 10 to 13 in the real world and 12 is treated like a spin off
Jordan Barnes
The original IZJS on PS2 was absolutely retarded in that job selections were permanent even though you could only use 6 of the 12 jobs per 100+ hour playthrough, the game didn't tell you what each job unlocked, and the best skills on each job were often locked behind OTHER permanent one-time choices. Just "get fucked if you don't play this game without a spreadhseet".
But the remake already let you have 2 jobs, and didn't make the enemies stronger to compensate. Letting you reset at will is going too far in the other direction.
Wyatt Phillips
that new art is great i would kill for a new FF in the ivalice universe
>I just want the bosses to have more defense so I don't melt through them. Been playing through XII on PC recently and everything just dies so easily I've been surprised how easy it is as well, I wasn't even that young when FF12 came out (14) and still remember having a difficult time with it. Now I am playing through it again, and MIST is so horribly broken that I laugh at most boss fights.
Easton Gonzalez
it's obvious FF10 brainlets like you would suck 13's dick since it's the spiritual sequel
literally a poison to the series
Parker Kelly
You do know about Return to Ivalice in FF14 right?
Landon Smith
XIV new expansion is pretty much Ivalice universe, I'm no fan of MMO's though so it's a skip for me
Jonathan Mitchell
I haven't even been using Mists
Christian King
Oh wow oh no you actually have to plan and build each character for a purpose how horrible cry more faget
>This game is like 42 fucking gigs on ps4. This fucking uncompressed audio and game assets meme is fucking terrible! And no, having compressed assets does not even equate to quality loss. There are plenty of lossless compression available, and they won't even bother with that! Inexcusable!
Landon Jones
FF12 was horrible. Worst cast, worst story, horrendous gameplay.
Cameron Brooks
If you liked FF12, an offline MMO in the worst sense of the word, FF14 would blow your mind with how much better the gameplay is.
So I gave two criticisms of the franchise and gave a few games as an example - did any of you brainlets see me ever claim, specifically, that the linear criticism was too 12? When it comes to 12 I was referring to the dumb "system" point. Try not being retarded next time.
Zachary Davis
>it's obvious FF10 brainlets like you would suck 13's dick since it's the spiritual sequel Not him, but I love FF10 and FF13 is fucking terrible, awful, garbage through and through. Your post offends me.
William Morgan
Is Fran becoming Alita battle angel now?
Bentley Williams
>Improved New Game +, now you can carry over items that were obtained in a previous play-through. Wyrmhero Blade not entirely useless anymore.
Fuck off nigger I play netflix all the time on my Xbox One X
Dylan Cooper
First Disc of FF8 is the best segment in all of Final Fantasy's That Intro Cinematic Balamb Garden Dollet Mission Timber Train Heist The sorceress assassination
>- License (job) reset function >- Customize the jobs of your party as you desire, to match whatever situation you're in. Might as well make the entire license board open to everyone again like in the vanilla version.
Gabriel Bennett
that's not fran, just a viera passerby
Ryder Ramirez
This is one of the worst tries to move the goalpost I've ever seen in my life.
Ryan Reed
It's unclear, but I think you might be stuck to your jobs, it's just that you can re-spec them.
Liam Watson
I always thought this game in particular would benefit a lot from having character costume changes, and it looks like we still won't have them. SE is stubborn about not changing the character looks.
Owen Myers
I don't usually support preordering, but preorder that shit xbro, when the physical release of World of Final Fantasy came out for the xbox I had to go to 5 different stores to find a copy.
John Gonzalez
I can see that, but the post was very badly worded, then. Use something like "12 is guilty of the former, 10 and 13 of all" or something.
Alexander Baker
>- License (job) reset function >- Customize the jobs of your party as you desire, to match whatever situation you're in. Why even have the fucking job system in the first place then?
>- Gambit sets now increased to three sets from one Objective improvement and what I always wanted >- Improved New Game +, now you can carry over items that were obtained in a previous play-through. It wasn't like that already? >- Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION) Cool, I guess. Not like FFXII is really something the benefits from 60fps; it's a jrpg.
>mfw you can do all of those on Steam with the workshop anyway and go past 60 fps Except the gambit thing but it's a bit redudant
Jaxon Morgan
what is that thing they are riding? I dont remember "motorcycles" being in FF XII, at least not as a civilian commodity.
Brayden Cox
It's Balthier & Fran's vehicle. They used one in Rabanastre to catch Vaan and escape
Mason Walker
I played through the PS4 version without assigning any jobs until I got to the temple in the desert that unlocks the ability to assign a second job. It was a neat challenge that made me appreciate all the tools the game gives you to survive. I started my perfect blank slate save for future playthroughs and then I completely lost interest.
This doesn't make any sense. They are fundamentally different.
The MMO attack is stupid, not even FF11 plays similarly to 12
Jose Lopez
Correct. Only brainlets will disagree.
Noah Davis
How are they fundamentally different? It's obvious you haven't played both, unlike me. FF14 is what FF12 would be if the combat wasn't boring and the plot was more fleshed out.
Alexander Moore
Has always been this way, now better than ever. Even then, the Switch is probably going to have the shit share with FFXII due to it being inevitably compressed. Bad and unpatched audio, maybe?
I do hope the port is good, I've been wanting portable FFXII since the concert leak with the vita.
Jace Smith
They don't play the same at all, you don't even do similar things.
FF14 borrows heavily from Ivalice for the story and worldbuilding but FF14 is not FF12 with better combat.
Grayson Bennett
Literally every single FF has a new “system.” What the fuck do you even think you’re talking about?
John Barnes
I'm a big fan of the X, and giving games the bone up treatment. It's far better than a remaster.
That said, how can only the X handle a 15 year old RPG at 60fps? Kinda worries me.
Connor Cook
>- Up to 60 FPS Capability (ONLY AVAILABLE ON XBOX ONE X VERSION) You're telling me this PS2 remaster didn't already run at 60 fps?
Thomas Myers
>FF14 is what FF12 would be if the combat wasn't boring and the plot was more fleshed out.
This is one of the dumbest fucking things I’ve ever read in my life. And I read Atlas Shrugged
Luke Bennett
and you think 720P is ok?
the fucking absolute state of nintendofans...jesus christ.
Zachary Hill
It's mindboggling. As an equipment completionist autist, I would love more RPGs had NG+. It allows me to acquire rare/unique equipment at my own pace with no fear of missables.
Daniel Cruz
Define "easier."
Brayden Gomez
Seething
Gabriel Brown
First Dragon Quest, now the best FF. Thanks for beta testing, Sony fans.
Asher Perez
>gameplay is so shit it needs to be changed not once, not twice, but THREE times
I have a Switch, PS4, and a PC capable of playing most games. I still rarely buy multiplats on Switch because they always look way worse and run worse too.
I hope they add the new DQ/FFXII features to the other versions of the game as an update or DLC or something. I'd rather not play them on Switch.
The PS4pro upped the resolution instead of the framerate.
Benjamin Howard
DQ IXs features are confirmed exclusive. Not sure about the others.
Landon Gomez
Probably the HQ mapped textures on Squall's polygons.
Ryder Cook
SE was asked about the additional DQXI content for the other platforms and they said that they were undecided.
Not like it matters too much anyways. I don't care about the Japanese audio; DQ games don't even have VA in their original releases and I'd much rather play the games without any voice acting at all, so whatever. The 16 bit thing is kinda neat, but I can't imagine I'd play the game that way for more than a few minutes. Orchestrated music is nice, but I can always listen to it outside of the game so whatever. The only thing in the switch version that I'm interested in is the additional story content, but I don't know if I want to buy and play through the game again on an inferior platform just for what will probably only be a few hours of new content.
I just want another game with Gambits and the same loot mechanics
Thomas Thomas
3 times is actually pretty low compared to most games today that get patched every month
Aiden Perry
Idort here, I usually buy multiplats on switch because the only appreciable difference is portability.
Daniel Morris
I never take my Switch out of the dock. I really only play video games at home, and if I'm playing on a big 1440p monitor then the resolution and framerate is more important than the portability I'm never going to use.
I mean I usually only use it in handheld mode in other rooms of the house because I’m over the age of 20, but it’s still an advantage. I also have a weird setup though, most of my consoles are plugged into a projector, including the switch, but that room is a bit awkward to play in for certain circumstances so it’s nice to be able to just grab the switch and move. PS4 is essentially a NetflixBox because nogaems so that’s in the living room. Netflix + handheld Switch mode is P comfy
Hunter Fisher
>still no 'Don't have to play as Vaan' update
Nah I'm good.
Leo Butler
Fuck this that box art is so much better than PS4's.
Jace Martinez
Vaan is neat. Balthier a cuck.
Charles James
they don't care about the inferior game i think the remaster is too old to warrant updates like those
Anthony Ramirez
You only have to play as him until you get 4 party members then you'll never have to have him in your party again.
Chase Hill
The latest trailer states "exclusive content", bit honestly who know. This day and age nothing is never true with advertising. Im getting it on switch but hopefully the folks who supported the ps4 release get the bonus stuff.
Alexander Wilson
>sky pirate >leading man >personal skimpy bunny girl that follows him around everywhere >cuck
user...
Luis Cruz
I bet they're only saying that now so it doesn't affect the Switch sales and then after the Switch version releases they'll announce that they'll bring it the content over to PS4 and PC as well.
Lucas Walker
kek
Hunter Lopez
Do you think they're a couple and they're not showing it openly or is the game unironic in thinking they're just business partners
because it's a remaster with lighting and ambient occlusion and new shaders and shit
The ambient occlusion in FF12 PC even makes my 970 kneel at full resolution
Asher Thomas
Cool, might buy these games if they're 60FPS. I hope for at least 1440p on both too.
Grayson Powell
No, it runs at 60 fps for a different reason. PC version of FFXII always ran at 60. Since the PC version of FFX is still locked at 30, it likely won't happen. Someone tried to mod it to 60 a while ago & concluded it would require re-animating the entire game as animations are baked at 30 fps.
Christian Perez
Oh shit, I forgot about this. Yeah, probably will be locked on 30 too, thank you user.
Colton Cox
>they're still "fixing" it Enjoy your absolute trash ffxii shitters.
Let me guess >that’ll be $59.99 for the thrice time + tax + tip
Mason Brown
not for this game's NG+ mode it only offered you two NG+ modes and nothing else, an Easy Mode with everyone starting at near max level and a Hard Mode with everyone locked at Lv.1. in both cases you carried NOTHING over.
Robert Reed
sometimes i feel weird liking penelo because she's completely irrelevant and pointless
>Dude what if we made literally half the cast be inconsequential to the story >Dude what if we made a cast that barely says anything and almost never interacts with each other >Dude what if we made multiple cutscenes where the main character has no idea what's going on and just stands in the background while people who matter speak >Dude what if we made a character who's literally just a random girl off the street >Dude what if we made a villain who has zero emotional connection to the heroes and doesn't even meet them until the last ten minutes >Dude what if we took Final Fantasy Tactics' setting and made it a poor man's Star Wars >Dude what if we gave the narrator a comical Apu accent >Dude what if we made a political plot and then ruined it by turning it into standard ancient god shenanigans >Dude what if we made a plot where the heroes have almost no impact on what happens until 95% of the way through the story and spend their time traipsing through non-descript caves and ruins >Dude what if I'm Captain Basch >Dude what if we took everything 100% seriously and had zero levity >Dude what if we wrote all of the dialogue to sound like a Renaissance Fair >Dude what if we we had no overworld and all travel was handled by a menu or floating teleport crystals >Dude what if we made a battle system where you set everything up in advance so that you don't actually play the game >Dude what if we made summons useless except for opening doors >Dude what if instead of fun side quests we had only fetch/kill quests like in some generic MMO >Dude what if instead of having fun side games like the motorcycle chase and Triple Triad we had nothing >Dude what if we had really shitty music
HD is HD You’d be surprised at how much shit is still 480p
Hudson Clark
Why did you buy it twice
Justin Gutierrez
So is the game finally not shit?
Luke Davis
imagine being this much of an incel
Liam Rodriguez
it has stopped being shit all the way back ever since IZJS got out and received a translation patch TZA is nothing but a IZJS remaster
Nathaniel Walker
This is all I ever wanted. If they added in costumes that change depending on your job I would have bought this day 1. Every other FF with a job system has it.
Tyler Williams
Dude what if you ended yourself
Jaxon Sanchez
i just want one (1) depiction of penelo with a camel toe
Nathan Davis
MY CROUCH

Getting a collection of the official final fantasy games on one system is a wasted effort.
The disparities between the games are so different that a supposedly different series like Bravely Default has more in common with the early games than FF15 does.
12 is basically a spinoff of the tactics series, which itself was a reskinning of the ogre battle series after the team left.
Then you have 9, which has different elements from the games before it, but also has a few things from Vagrant's Story of all things, Then there are the Crystal Chronicles games that carry on the artsyle of 9, as well as the Wii-E-shop exclusives My Life as King / Darklord which are also in the Crystal Chronicles world.
What do you mean? Vaan and Penelo want to become Hunters They can't reach the location of their missions without the right transportation though, so they pretend to help a princess and her pirate companions with their plans to save the world so they can take advantage of them and become the world's best hunters.
Weather you actually finish the princess's mission is just a sidequest.

Is 7 better? That was the one I was planning on playing first, but this one's box art is what made me wonder
Asher Adams
Not really. It's completely different from any other Final Fantasy game (but the same could be said for most of the post-FFIX games).
I would say start with FFVI, but not the Steam or mobile versions. One with the original graphics. If that isn't an option, FFVII is another good place to start if you aren't put off by primitive 3D.
If you are put off by primitive 3D, maybe FFIX instead.Q
The original game SHOULD have had unique boards for each character, even if they would've all had the same tiles in the end. Having a single board type shared between 6 characters really killed some of the mystique of unlocking new tiles.

Yeah it's a great one. Lots of content and a great story with a political tones à la Games of Throne
Vaan's pretty pointless even if you pay attention to everything. One of his pivotal moments where he tells Ashe "War is lame but I'm not angry anymore 'cause ya know" could've just as easily been delivered by any random NPC.
Brandon Taylor
Finding some unlocks by chance with one character, even though you really want it for another character, was part of the fun and lead to some pretty fun decisions.
Christopher Barnes
Just play IV (PSP), V (GBA), or VI (GBA). VII, IX, & X are also good starts.
Angel Rivera
But did they give Vaan a shirt?
Aaron Johnson
Yeah a good game, what's your point?

Do you stick around in areas to grind or move along to progress things? I found sticking around too long in places makes you over-leveled as fuck, while only fighting things on the way to the boss generally presented more of a challenge.
You have to realize the remasters are literally nothing more than a fresh coat of paint. To add anything more unique than smoothed and upscaled textures would be more work than they're willing to put into it.

I've zoned out on Final Fantasy after 9. Tell me if I'm off with this list
FF 10: Blitz Ball and HAHAHAHAAHAH FF 11: Online FF 12: Not online, tied into Tactic Advance games? FF 13: Lightening's game
Aiden Walker

FF8 looks pretty bad on PS1, i think people forget how it actually looked

10: More linear than previous entries, but still plenty of side content, some likable characters, and good world-building. 10-2: Great combat, lots of side-content, pants-on-head retarded story. 11: Online, in its heyday an absolute masterpiece, unrivaled to this day. Modern-day 11, however, is a watered-down, casualized shell of its former self. 12: Takes place in the Ivalice universe, thus loosely related to FFT, FFTA 1 and 2, and Vagrant Story. 13: The definition of average, fun battle system that isn't actually used properly until some post-game fights. Story, world, and characters are uninteresting for the most part. 13-2: More like an actual RPG, changes up the combat a bit, fleshes out the world more, characters are still not terribly noteworthy. 13-3: Originally a Valkyrie Profile game, combat is stellar, sidequests + timelimit are interesting, story is quite possibly some of the dumbest yet.

Sad desu senpai

>13-3: Originally a Valkyrie Profile game you buggin
Jose Campbell
I'm not, tri-Ace was developing a Valkyrie Profile game, square had them turn it into 13-3 due to their success with 13-2
