Why can’t they ever release a game on schedule? Their excuse is always “we’re experimenting with new state of the art tech” but when their game comes out, it always feels dated. Spider Man and God of War had better graphics and more revolutionary gameplay than KH3 and FFXV.
Why can’t they ever release a game on schedule...
post 10 seconds of you developing anything
KH3 felt on schedule.
FFXV was in development hell for 10 years and still needed multiple DLCs (inculding Multiplayer), a movie, and an anime to tell the story FOR ONE STAND ALONE GAME
>Spider Man and God of War had better graphics and more revolutionary gameplay than KH3 and FFXV.
baitimus maximus
Tell me what was so revolutionary about KH3 and XV. Spider Man gave us a damn near perfect recreation of Manhattan and great open world traversal mechanics. God of War pushed gaming as a while forward in terms of storytelling and did away with loading screens.
KH3 literally feels like a game from 15 years ago and XV is nothing.
Holy shit am I literally on GameFAGs right now?
Spider-Man didn't do shit that the PS2 game didn't do aside from the Manhattan update.
GoW had shitty western-designed combat like always and "walking-and-talking-AssCreed-style" loading screens is not the absence of loading screens, dumbfuck.
>KH3 felt on schedule
KH3 didn't take all that long after they actually started developing it in like 2016.
Just because it came out 13 years after KH2 doesn't mean they were working on it for 13 year or even half of that, retards.
Unlike FFXV which really was in development since 2006.
I can tell you’re underaged and never actually played Spider Man 2
>Why can’t they ever release a game on schedule?
Because they care more about graphics than gameplay.
It’s literally the abscene if loading screens because there is no SCREEN, idiot. Of fucking course loading still exists.
This and like the OP said, their graphics always feel dated when their game comes out. XV doesn’t hold a candle to Far Cry 5 or Breath of the Wild.
It's always been bad. Square Enix would make announcements a year in advance, while Enix would make announcements then fall behind schedule by two years. Now both companies are almost a generation behind with their releases.
>Dissing GameFaqs
That site is still literally the best place to go if you are stuck in a game. The only difference is now you scour the forums instead of faqs.
>Just because it came out 13 years after KH2 doesn't mean they were working on it for 13 year or even half of that, retards.
I never said it did you fucking tool. KH3 felt like a hastily assembled mess that was just a showing off for what would come in the next game.
FUcking try me bitch
Manpower is spread too thin.
Their insistence on using in-house developed engines hurt them a lot.
Also they try too hard to go toe-to-toe with western studios that pour millions into visual fidelity.
I kind of wish they developed exclusively for the Switch, not because of fanboyism but so that the hardware limitations would force them not to go the graphics route.
Gamefaqs is based you fuckwad. Also I don't think GoW or Spiderman were revolutionary but they sure were better than FFXV and KH3.
Too much focus on cinematics. The guy that made Spirits Within didn't get fired, did he?
>Too much focus on cinematics.
That's literally what Square is though.
Other companies contract out work with SE just to do their CGI work.
I for one am glad those niggas still make CGI movies.
But they're a video game company.
>Spider Man and God of War had better graphics and more revolutionary gameplay than KH3 and FFXV.
I definitely wouldn't call the gameplay of Spiderman or Gow "revolutionary". They had completely standard/typical gameplay (spiderman is typical 3d beat them up, god of war is basically just souls/nioh without stamina).
Designing FFXV was definitely a much more difficult job, like how would you turn a typical party based and turn based rpg combat into real time action combat (the thing everyone wants these days)?
as for graphics, both Spiderman and GoW was made by dedicated studios with pretty much infinite amount of budget on their hand, backed up by Sony, meanwhile SE is a company that is constantly juggling their limited amount of money, end oftern reports losses for whole years.
>Spider Man gave us a damn near perfect recreation of Manhattan and great open world traversal mechanics.
that was a thing since ps2 spiderman games
>God of War pushed gaming as a while forward in terms of storytelling and did away with loading screens.
gow still has loading sections (slowly opening a gate, or climbing through a cave, etc.). They are just less obvious but basically they still take your time
as for story, it's alright, but nothing amazing. It's just another story that gets overrated simply because it is more "grounded/realistic", so even people with crappy imagination can more easily relate to it.
Imagine some people unironically think that new GoW gameplay is good or moreso - "revolutionary"
My fucking sides.
You could make a game with highly specialized people slaving away in the PS2 era. Much harder to do now.
