It did?

I was sticking with Trigger

That was Asia alone OP, worldwide it's probably a lot higher.

this game really needed more unique missions like the tunnel section on the elevator

I was sick of ground missions

I hope we'll get over a million, our boys deserve it

not even this place is autistic enough for flight sims, OP.

Retard

>Ace Combat
>Flight sim
Is this perpetual shitposting or is modern Yea Forums just this fucking stupid? Calling Ace Combat a flight sim is like calling Metal Gear Solid a stealth sim.

Yeah I would've been fine with 1 score attack mission. I did enjoy the variety with the ground related missions though, huge step up compared to previous entries.

Well that much is obvious.

How can IGN ever recover?

Attached: 2019-02-24_0739.png (752x602, 58K)

to be fair, for someone not in the know about the series, it is a retarded naming convention. 'Casual' and 'Standard' would make more sense

Avril is cute
CUTE

Attached: ace-combat-7_Avril.jpg (1400x787, 118K)

someone should reply to this very tweet except change it to call out Kono for not implementing DirectX standard flight stick support API's in the PC version of AC7. The fuckers even touted third party stick support as a feature when they were marketing the game for PC last year. Yet they ended up using a walled garden (despite the fact incorporating standard stick support would have been trivial since the API's are all right there in DirectX)

How is it "not fair" to assume an IGN Journalist reviewing the 7th fucking game in a series wouldn't know the BARE MINIMUM CONVENTIONS in a series that has been around for 20+ years?

I wonder why even have casual and actual control schemes when you think casual control mode is for shitters and is terrible? Just so you can point and laugh? That seems like a lot of effort for nothing. Shitters are going to suck at AC anyway.

if you make a game that requires series knowledge for such basic terminology, then that's simply bad game design

You're a fucking moron. That has nothing to do with design and everything to do with an editor not spotting the mistranslation of the word 'standard'. When an idiot reviewing the game doesn't bother to look at what the various settings in a game they are reviewing actually does they are not doing their job.

nah user, it's a fucking dumb naming convention and to imply someone should know this coming into a game or do research about it prior, especially if the implication that 'expert' is the normal setting, well, that's just shit design

watch out everyone we got a HOTAShitter here

Attached: pc gamers.png (637x382, 34K)

Careful. AC fans are autistic spergs who will legitimately defend said convention.

Threadly reminder that Trigger, momemts after hearing about civilians being executed, pretended to be launched from the mass driver in the middle of a warzone, for fun.

Attached: 44abf2277a6f5e595971b850a5e913ab.jpg (1280x720, 126K)

again a naming convention has NOTHING TO DO WITH GAME DESIGN you fucking mong

if it leads to an inherently lesser playing experience, then yes, it is

Trigger being a dumb adrenaline junkie was the best part of the game especially with all the dumb shit you have to do to spawn Aces like flying under Stonehenge's cannon

Attached: Trigger.png (463x426, 85K)

If you don't bother researching what you're reviewing and you don't bother experimenting with the settings in a game you're reviewing, you suck at your job.

Attached: 1521623426549.png (1912x1460, 669K)

>and you don't bother experimenting with the settings
I wouldn't argue with this, though, you're right, the reviewer should have gone back and tried the other setting at least

>look up gameplay

We really need AC8 using the current engine and set in the 80s

more like drone combat 7 lmao

you guys do realise calling AC a flight sim isn't ignorance and is in fact bait, right?

Why do you even include casual as an option is the real question Mr serious Japanese man.

Attached: ace-combat-7_Avril2.png (500x483, 110K)

I'm about to buy AC7 to tide me over until DMC5 next week. It will be my first AC apart from the AC4 demo that I played as a kid. I'm pretty keen.

nah it's gonna be electrosphere

This 100%

I love this game.

The themes are actually quite good too, (not just talking about them music themes).

Your nemesis flies a super MiG-21 with canards and thrust vectoring

7 is 20 years prior to electrosphere, we're not getting there anytime soon.

Here, playing AC7, AC0, RE2 and Yakuza Kiwami

The final boss flies a Spitfire

God damn, and DMC 5 coming up.

Don't forget sekiro.

If this happens we need an ekranoplan superweapon

Attached: Lun-MD-160-1.jpg (1280x720, 130K)

UE4 is good, just because someone on YouTube used it to make a shitty tech demo with stolen assets doesn't mean it's bad

in what way did it save gaming?

This is just in Asia. Boys, we are getting AC8

what is that thing?

I started the Ace Combat series not long before 7 was released and now have played all the strangereal games besides 3. I may be a latecomer to the series but it's great and I feel good about helping this series stay alive. Ace Combat has a really comfy community.

...an ekranoplan

what does it do?

Has anyone ever used the "normal" flight system? I thought it just maps roll and yaw differently.

Nice, play 3, it was fully translated by a bunch of enthusiasts and there's nothing alike in the entire series.

I think hes just upset that the reviewer who gets paid to review the game doesnt play it on expert not that other people dont

Welcome user

Attached: FgT0.jpg (515x327, 46K)

"standard" is literally starfox mode, "expert" has rolling and yawing

>Shitters are going to suck at AC anyway.
This. Completely new to AC and every mission seems to give me trouble. Took awhile not to spazz out everytime a missile locks on to me.

>A vehicle that is designed to attain sustained flight over a level surface by making use of ground effect, the aerodynamic interaction between the wings and the surface
It was meant for fast invasions

is it going on sale anytime soon? I haven't played an AC game before but I'd be interested to try

did it work?

It's definitely worth it and is the best game this year besides RE2, idk if it is going on sale though soon.

yes but it was never used because $$$
have you heard of this cool thing called google?

It is barely a few weeks since release mate.

I still don't get why casual mode is an option. Ace Combat is a very niche game, similar to Armored Core. The only people interested are the dedicated fanbase who likes the game for its challenge and complexity so the harder and complex it is, the better. So having babymode still looks like the Ninja Gaiden joke where they give you a pink ribbon and call you a faggot for sucking at the game.

bamco has a lot of publisher sales so I never know what to expect

Give me one good reason why you aren't listening to this right now
youtube.com/watch?v=2o_XGQ3EcrI

Attached: 1550703774935.png (225x225, 62K)

Ever played War Thunder? That has a mouse control scheme where you point at where you want the plane to go, and the game tries to adjust ailerons and elevator (roll and pitch) to make the plane go that way. AC7's "normal" is kind of like that, only terrible.

It's a ground effect vehicle. Kind of like a flying boat, only it doesn't have enough wing lift for true flight. Instead it relies on ground effect to stay airborne. Payload of a boat at the speed of a plane.

>Asymmetrical braap action.
That is so hot

Fuck Cold War shit.

Prototypes worked just fine. Development ended when Soviet Union imploded and everything went to (even worse) shit. Smaller versions are still in use around the world, but nothing like that Lun-class superbird.

I'm pretty sure that in the previous entries the current "expert" was "standard" and current standard was something like simple. But yeah it's starfox controls.

Trigger is a most based pilot in the series.

That a Viggen? Nice bird. AC could really use more eurobirds, even if most of them are a bit outdated by now. Lots of fun little things, like the Draken, first flight in 1955, being the oldest PSM capable plane.

To be fair, the writer of the review said he was an AC veteran if I remember correctly.

That was the most inexperienced veteran ever. Did journalism erode any skill he should've picked up if he truly was a veteran?

no one i know has ever talked about this game outside of this board, and it barely made any major gaming-related headlines. while it isn't a bad game by any means and the Ace Combat series is certainly a good series, its rather niche and doesn't have a very noticable effect on anything outside of flight sim autists. No disrespect though, I think the series is pretty cool and the fictional world it has is neat.

>cannot be attacked from the above
>need to fly meters above water level at mach 2+ and use guns to take it down

Could be cool

Trust me, I agree with your completely. Those are his sentiments, not mine. I knew he was talking out of his ass when he said he had a hard time understating what the objective is or what his targets were. Theres literally a huge red TGT and the minimap had bright red dots. That's without talking about the constant exposition in your ear about your current objective.

AC8 will be about how General Resources and Neucom take over the planet and how Yuktobania and Osea lost their superpower status. We will fight for Sotoa in Verusa, calling it now.

>flight sim
Dude.

Too early for that.

you know what i meant, man. people from and around that crowd. planefags, dude. its not a flightsim.

They will introduce the reason why Neucom and General Resources have the path cleared for them assume absolute control. Basically, AC8 will be the last game in which you will fight for a nation.

>flying in circles
Said no one who knows how to play the game ever.

>inb4 it was valkans all along

I'm loving this game but it keeps crashing in any cutscene at mission 7. Is there any known fix for this?

AC8 will be free2play cuz AC (8) infinity.

dogfights are all like that even with the drifting mechanic, or you just say fuck it and you go after that other nigga that isnt flying like a spastic.
Or is there some secret I dont know (apart from getting a plane that turns faster)

it's too hard

And bad times for the western games. EA and Ubisoft will be flopped soon and its seething fans are invading nip-related game thread

Yea Forums not singing Journey Home to 0repare for AC7 was a damn shame. Someone should've organized it.

hold triangle that will make it easier to get them from behind by adjusting your angles, dropping your speed etc, the only mission where i had to fly in circles was mission 19 since there's a shitload of drones that keep locking on to you.

Metro was good though, wasn't it?

be honest with me

I have never even seen gameplay of previous games, I don't even know what this islike, all I know is jets are involved, I never play driving games, haven't bought one in my life

will I enjoy this? is this some weird niche that only certain people like or can any faggot join in?

Just emulate older games. 4,5,0. That will give you an idea if it's something for you or not.

Ubisoft maybe, ea never. EA make more money of sport games in a month than entire gaming studios do in 3 years. fifa runs all. also apex legend is being played by millions and being bought

however anthem is a trashfire which is flopping, good.

There's not a single gaming series out there that can legit give me body wide chills like Ace Combat. If you like japanese military melodrama and want to taste thr greatest player enpowerment in the history of this industry, play Ace Combat.

This post explains everything you need to know.
The answer is yes.

Also can you do comfy free flights or is it always anime full blown we're under fucking attack status?

Attached: 1523932609631.gif (235x240, 1.93M)

I'd legit start reading reviews again if they were laconic and on point like this one.

You don't have to worry about the slavs. They can hold out on their own

>Also can you do comfy free flights
You can.

>For Us All
It's going to be a disaster with everyone singing off sync

There is a free flight mode

There's free flight mode where it's just (You) flying around the map so yes.

>Also can you do comfy free flights or is it always anime full blown we're under fucking attack status?
Yes

there's a free flight mode, you can adjust difficulty settings but don't be faggot, play on the max difficulty available, the games aren't that hard

It's not hard hard, but it does take a while to get used to. Took me a couple of hours to realize that no, not every enemy is an evasion master, this dude's been going in a straight line and the only reason I'm not getting a bead on him is because I'm a dumbass who keeps circling him.

And yeah free flight mode is in. No benefit in using it, but if you just want to cruise and look at the scenery porn it's there.

You can do free flights with no enemies after beating the games. It's not very hard but getting used to the controls takes a little while. Remember to hold triangle to lock the camera onto your target

>Spoiler
AC7 IS one of the tougher games in the series, IMO, but it's never been all that hard. It's always been one of those games where I don't get mad at game overs because I enjoy playing the game so much.

>Free flights
Yes. They are pretty comfy.

As long as you don't fly straight like a dummy target, then you're fine. Heck, there's even a
part that could let you regenerate your HP partially. And yes, there's free flight as well.

There are missions that left me seething but I always eventually beat them. You'll git gud along the course of the campaign.

Can you still get the free AC5 if you buy AC7 now, or was that only for preorders? Is there no other way to get it?

Anyone else has come around to really like the story of AC7? Took a few weeks but it finally clicked with me.
Even the cinstant squad jumping made sense. You're supposed to be a shadow of Mihaly. The next generation Ace.

You have to learn from trial and error sometimes, and it might be a bit frustrating. But it'll be worth it when you finally pass that hurdle and reaching endgame content.

I don't, it was just "dumb retard starts a war and gary stu has to do everything"

I like it because I've never been super invested in the stories of AC games besides 04 and 3, which I'm currently playing for the first time.
It gets the job done, that job being melodrama, conspiracies, and stupid badass shit.

>AC7 IS one of the tougher games in the series
Uh, I don't know about that. Didn't find it harder than the trilogy. It's probably the easiest and newcomer-friendly, it even has the checkpoint system.

I finished it and it felt short to me. Is there anything to do after you beat the campaign

If you're planning on starting straight with AC7, don't listen to anons who want you to jump into the fire. AC7 is by far the hardest game in the franchise.
Play it on Normal, and maybe go down to easy if you want to. The game is meant to be replayed several times so you'll eventually climb up to harder dificulties.

Multiplayer? Or better yet, have you played other ac games?

Really? Maybe it's just been a while since I've played the trilogy. Then again, I don't know AC7 as well as I know the trinity, so that might've played into it.

Try unlocking the whole aircraft tree by redoing the campaign.

Or do a:
>no damage run
>MG only run
>speedrun (total time less than 4 hours)

nah i hate multiplayer

I'll try 5 on an emulator since 6 can't be on PC

Agreeing with this. Missiles don't do much damage on AC7, even on Ace difficulty. In comparison, missiles will completely take more than half of your HP on the harder difficulties of the older games.

Try other difficulties
MG-only run with MiG-21 and MGP

I JUST WANT TO PILOT THE ADF-11
THE MODEL IS IN THE GAME
JUST LET ME FLY IT ALREADY
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Hopefully you purchased the Season pass

Come back in 5 years when there's pre-electrosphere game with cooler planes.

The only missile that deletes you is the one in mission 9.

I think they compensate this with the amount of enemies going after your ass.

How hard would you mark out if its employs AC3's UI?

You didn't har thos from me, but the ADF-11 will be a free a update in mid March.
DLC will be Nosferatu, ADFX-10 and ADF-02 Falken

DESU if AC8 doesn't have multi-platform vr I'm going to be a bit miffed. I'm still hoping some of the dlc for 7 includes it too.

>autists pretending to not be autists pretending to be autists baiting other autists

Isn't VR like an exclusive to sony's platform for only a year?

Exactly. It has like 3-4 mission too.

Still didn't stop these people from REEEEEEing.

We're 20 years away from AC3 by now right?
It'll take 2 or 3 games to get there I think.

So since Galaga takes place in Strangereal too, how long until an alien invasion plot? It would explain hownthe belkans got so much advanced tech. The Grey Men were literally Grey Ayy Lmaos

On the other hand most enemies seem to fire two missiles at you in rapid succession, effectively doubling the damage when you screw up. So even if one missile only does 30% damage you only have room to fail once.

Doesn't really mean anything, after a year they'll be finished with development, Kono already said that they plan on getting 8 out pretty quick due to the massive positive reception. If they're going to do anything vr related for 7 they're going to have to start from scratch, either that or it'll get some quiet release way out.

>Beats a squadron of overrated rejects and a slow as shit anti asteroid weapon useless at close range
Mobius is overrated. Southern Cross fought better Aces who used fucking invisible planes

>He was too busy winning a fucking war by himself without the need of an anime squadron.
Just like the rest of the protagonists? Except Mobius flew in piss-easy missions with very few targets and ample time limits as you often have to wait 5 minutes for the timer to pass despite all targets being gone

Solo Wing Pixy > everyone else

What's trash about it apart from not supporting some hotas.

First contact with extraterrestrials is in 2243. First large scale conflict with extraterrestrials in 2279. A whole bunch of invasions happen afterwards, with peace finally happening in 2340. Next big conflict is in 2407, which ends inconclusively. Then in 2459, Earth falls.

>Wins the battle so hard that he gets the free time to fly around for a few minutes after styling on all those Erusean jabronis
I don't see how that's a bad thing.

Trigger goes toe to toe with the guynwho trained Yellow squadron using an experimental plane while Mobius spends half the game running from them. Mobius sucks

Wins the battle so hard because there's about five targets in the entire mission vs AC6 or 7 with 700

Yeah, because they all turn tail and run when they hear the ribbon's in the sky.

Talisman has command of the entire Emmerian military. He should have been promoted to General halfway through the game honestly

ACZ is the only game where the enemy actually flees from you though, thus Cipher is much scarier than Mobius

>Grand Marshal Talisman

So the official timeline is:
AC0>ACAHL (AC2)>AC4>Ridge Racer R2>AC5>AC6>AC7>ACX>AC3>Galaga

There's at least one plane in AC4 that flees, and a half dozen or so in AC7. Admittedly the latter ones are "aces" only there for you to steal their skins.

Their reaction to Mobius lacks something compared to sheer terror enemies felt and the lengths they went to in order to stop Phoenix

>beats the husk of a fearsome squadron
He's overrated, many aces has long since superseded him. He even lost to a predecessor in terms of achievements for gods sake.

Based.

Also whatever is coming between 7 and Electrosphere chrono-wise.

The Circum-Pacific war lasts way longer and is far more devastating for Osea than the Lighthouse War though.
In fact, the Lighthouse War was over as fast as it began.

>AC5 ends

>AC7 ends
>"Our bridge of peace to the skies will definitely unite all nations this time around!"
Poor Harling

>Virgin Blaze need to fake death and goes undercover for a long time to end the war
>Chad Trigger end the war in a swift to prevent more casualties and manage to unite the countries far more quicker than Yuktobania-Osea

CUMMED IN OVER A MILLION TIMES

I was one of those Erusean rebels, don't ask me any questions.

Harling was a dumb retard peacemonger, his actions directly led to Skynet

Lucky for the Princess, the Scrap Queen's love is a rehabilitating warmth. She'll be happy once again.

I'm pretty sure one of the reason the world regime of nations falls it's because the relied too much in the space elevator and when the big fragment of Ulysses 2.0, which nagase missed, destroys it along some permanently damaged territories in Osea and Yuktobania it will fuck up the world order so much that everyone relies on corporate companies.

Holy shit

Nagase used the bridge of peace to go into space and do a Bruce Willis on a mega-asteroid on collision course with Strangereal Earth, avoiding a repeat of the events of AC4 and 6. I'd say it was pretty worth it, also probably why Harling sacrificed himself to save the elevator.

>Just realized the princess has Cosette in the name
INSPECTOR JAVERT IN ACE COMBAT FUCKING WHEN

I'd wager it was because of the Kessler effect which was the perfect time for both Gründer and General Resource to swoop in with their technomancy and put their satellites in place.

They didn't though. Grunder repurposed The Lighthouse as a beacon for data transmissions for the revived ZOE projject. Harling didn't know. He wasn't even the president anymore.

I still think it's fucking insane my childhood question of "What the hell are those secret red planes in AC2" was answered 5 games and over 20 years later in AC7

Screw corporations, Osea is well on the way to turn into a mess of corporate interests overriding governmental priorities, Grunder keeps growing fat and with more and more power over the place despite LITERALLY having committed treason at least TWICE now, and Osea does nothing to fix that.
Only one power can save us now.

Is Stratos 4 /ace/ material?

Man, I kept waiting for those creepy drones to suddenly start talking to me and reveal that they had gained santience. Too bad it never happened

>they start talking in Mihaly's voice

just wait for the sequel

Attached: 1546984162969.gif (400x221, 344K)

>if you fail mission 20 there will be over 9000 of those drones

One thing about the drones that I find refreshing though, is that there's LITERALLY nothing wrong with them or their programming. They're doing exactly as they're told, following the orders of the "legitimate" Erusean radical government. The problem is that with all communications down they're forced to operate autonomously and they don't care that if hostilities are supposed to be dying down.

Attached: Magic.jpg (1600x900, 201K)

I found that weird, Erusea breaks into a civil war with people saying WE HAVE GONE TOO FAR WITH TECHNOLOGY, yet the drones do exactly what they were programmed to do, I was expecting some kind of "OH, NOW THEY ARE SENTIENT"

They start repeating Brownie's scared pleas for help as you chase them down.

Give me the context, I've only played 7.

Nah, I'd rather they cycle through like in regular multiplayer, but stick to boss themes.

Wait, really? I didn't notice this, that's pretty creepy and cool if it's true.

It felt to me it was more like a reactionary "look at the radical faction and their magical toys, they always say it's going to instawin the war and here we are getting Farbanti pounded to the ground FUCKING AGAIN. GET 'EM BOYS." kind of approach.

Damn, that would have been really good, actually.

Fuck, seems like a missed opportunity.

Them trying to learn Trigger's flying style is pretty sentient. Most of the game Schroeder has to record Mihaly's sorties and code them manually, now they can somehow make out that Trigger is the best out of 10 fighters in the area and learns his shenannigans in 5 minutes

Because I'm listening to Zero, as I do during all waking hours

Ace Cobmat 7 was very disappointing. It was still a good game because the bar for fucking up an Ace Combat is a high one, and it's only ever happened once, but it was still a disappointment. It felt like MGSV-lite.

>by shoving set pieces and characters from the holy trinity in your face nonstop.
Harling, Stonehenge... what else?
I don't know, ever since Dark Souls 3 I'm very, very wary of Anons making noise about "cashing in on nostalgia" because it often is used like some sort of empty criticism by idiots who do not understand the value of continuity, as pointless as saying that a game lacks "soul". As far as setpieces go though, that's always been prevalent through the games, it has always repeated stuff like canyon runs, tunnel runs, fighting giant space planes... Though that might be more a case of not fixing what isn't broken, as far as I can remember the Bunker Buster mission has never been done before, and it's definitely not one of my favorites.

To the town of Chopinburg rode a stranger one fine day
Hardly spoke to folks around him, didn't have too much to say,
No one dared to ask his business, no one dared to make a slip
The stranger there among them had a big drone on his sky
Big drone on his sky

but the ADFX-10 is the small drone lad

That's a harsh title. The game is doing better than anyone expected apparently. We're getting a whole lot more of Ace Combat in the future.

Farbanti, mass driver, ZOE

the fuck are you sucking trigger's dick for, he's a complete nincompoop

Boy you better hope you're still dreaming, because the season pass DLC release is confirmed in summer time, and its ADFX-11 Raven, Morgan, and Nosferatu. Hope you enjoy waiting literal months

>complains about the presence of Farbanti
what kind of logic is that ?

Attached: 1547330618358.png (540x720, 488K)

Why did we quit production of this, again?

You consider references to ZoE to be a downside? Really? That's always the coolest thing, when you have a modern game acknowledging plot points from literal decades in the past, reinforcing a series' mythos, and it's done in such a minor way too... it's not like you're, say, being told to go break down Megalith again with the exact same mission structure. Stonehenge and the Mass Drivers make an appearance again but the structure of their missions is completely different from the original, too.

Osea was neutral in the war because Harling was president at the time, who ran on a non-interventionist platform. ISAF was made up of just Usean nations.
After Harling's presidency, Osea reverted and began to project power with the IUN.

Attached: 1549767584407.jpg (1043x245, 56K)

Kestrel and Nagase

>disobeying orders
Trigger only disobeys orders if you're a casual and need to rearm on mission 6.
>keep his wingmen from shooting EACHOTHER down
That's 100% on Bandog
>drones are able to guide it
The drones didn't guide his missile into Harling, the missile that shot Harling down came from a drone and you can literally see it happen in-game.

AC:Zero
You play as a merc from Not-Poland

I've also heard the song that plays when you fight Pixy play in multiplayer.

t.Grunder

It's the Motif that is used in both games, since they are both related.

One of them did. In the tunnel run. Too bad Trigger doesn't understand machinespeak.

All of that is true, and it's also legitimately a good thing. AA space for games is always more comfortable and less stifling than AAA, it's where the true magic happens and franchises like Ace Combat and Armored Core are allowed to stretch their legs.
Also makes for better threads too

That moment was kino. Only way it could have been better would have been if instead of a helicopter, Harling was being evacuated aboard the Kestrel II

I seriously thought the Kestrel II was going to play a big part in the story but nah like wtf

Why do the A-10 and SU-34 have their cannon at an angle? It just makes it harder to aim, and if you try using it in level flight to attack ground targets, the attack window is too small anyway.

Fuck this game has so many kino-moments its mind-boggling how good the devs are at it.

Drones are more economically viable and sustainable. The drone that they based the cargo ones on will likely only a few million dollars apiece -- drastically less than can be made by selling an old fleet to a non-firstworld air force. It also need to be able to compete with the cost effectiveness of China's drone program who reportedly have similarly low prices per unit.

>Firing jet guns flat

You's supposed to fire angled cannons at at angle, on a pass, while in mid turn, to make yourself harder to hit from ground targets. Firing flat just means you get shot down by AA IRL

For casual players to be able to actually see what they're shooting at in third person camera mode.
>the attack window is too small
The A-10's whole selling point is that it can fly slow enough to extend the attack window. But all that's pointless anyway when you can pack 50% more bombs than an A-10 can carry onto a fucking F22 and outperform dedicated attack craft in a stealth fighter.

It used to be "novice" and "standard" prior to either AH or infinity but shitters whined they were being called novices.

>Like a Phoenix Rising
I could see that and also The Journey Home.

but ground targets are more annoying than the trilogy somehow
yea...about that

You can emulate the earlier games while you wait, if you haven't played those yet.

The retard is right about one thing, this game and Uncharted shouldn't have the same score, AC deserves much better than that

You're aware that you can pirate it right now?

But the game is on torrents afaik.

that's what I was trying to imply

The constant crescendo, until the whole thing spills over at 2:15 and becomes pure greatness is incredible.

Word, Uncharted isn't as fun even if you're a fan of 3rd person shooters.

I would tell you to emulate the PS2 trilogy first but that's just my opinion.

Uncharted is a lazy Indiana Jones. Fucking lazy as shit on Naughty Dog's part. I miss the Crash and Jak days

>we still don't know half the lyrics because we only got half the song in taiko
Goddamnit

What if AC3(US) stuff makes into the real cannon? Human UPEO playable character along with Aurora AI incorporated in the whole mess of the Intercorporate Wars.

>What if AC3(US) stuff makes into the real cannon
Forget about it, we will be lucky if anything from ac3 becomes canon at this point.

>Best story
The branching structure is pretty great, but the substance of the story itself is really very lacking, in no small part because the nature of the whole thing as a simulation where nothing really actually happens makes it very hard to even care.

>Best story
Branching paths and the mission variety is dope but I'd say the game lacks in every other department. I mean, there's very little radio chatter, 52 missions but most of them can be completed within 3-5 minutes, even the full version feels very empty in comparison to any post ac3 game. I realize that it's mostly due to technical limitations but still.

Surprise surprise, largest military exporter in the world gets away with everything. Plus they're an Osean company now and as far as we know didn't really do anything illegal, just sold their stuff. It was Erusea and some rogue Belkan scientists who actually used it.

The mass driver wasn't from AC5

A couple anons already posted what should be the first set of DLC; ADF, Falken and the Nosferatu. It's expected to be a summer release.

Hell yeah buddy!

The best time to be a pilot is when war gets chugging, standards for pilots go down once existing reserves start taking punishment and the industry pumps out planes as fast as it can.

>ZOE
>only direct reference was the incredibly minor stripe on the prototype drone, and maybe that hal looking bit in once cutscene

You don't have to transfer shit, user. 99.9% of the time, games save your save files to a specific location regardless of where you got the exe from. Sometimes platforms like Steam or Origin use cloud saves, but I've never seen one that didn't let you opt out and load saves from your own computer instead. Are you new to PC gayman?

ZOE was an AI that used red planes in ace combat 2. It's why the Falken is red as it flew that as it's final plane.

It was just a testbed and demonstrator of the tech. Also proving flight operations on a carrier isn't something you can really do in secret considering the amount of eyes on it. You can remain fairly sure that we've got a successor already available in small numbers for deep strike missions that require expendable UCAVs.
in AC2/AHL, Grunder Industries sent out 5 Z.O.E planes in the middle of the Usean coup de etat. You have to hunt down and kill them all to get to the final mission, where you fight one that has a ADF-01 FALKEN.
They are drones that can learn from fighting against other pilots (in this case, Scarface 1). After AC2, they kept developing them for over two decades in secret. the AC7 drones the result of that very same Z.O.E project, to the point where the last drones use ADF-11's (again, a continuation of the ADF-01 FALKEN)
60€ is a robbery for this little content. No mission generator, no side objectives, no dynamic objectives or anything to do outside campaign. Who gives a fuck about replaying same shit over and over again with slightly different planes (and you end up using same, most effective special weapons anyway).
AI allies are retarded and you're the only unit doing something on the battlefield. The rest is shouting into comms but not doing shit which really hurts the gameplay and immersion. Why would I care about some random dots on the sky if they are not meaningful in any way and it's me who has to kill 1000 enemies to complete an objective.

Remaking a game with over 50 missions takes alot of money and could kill the series unless it were literally the Witcher 3 in terms of success and Ace combat is too niche to do something like that.

Getting enough money to buy all the planes engraved Mobius' pattern and Zero into my brain forever. I could do the Gauntlet with my eyes closed now.

>creating better weapons is illegal

the only solution would be to divide the game in sequels then

Yeah but most of 3's missions are barely 5 minutes long.

>these niggas don't know about Operation Katina, how Mobius 1 soloed the entire thing, AND faced 5 Wyverns at the same time in the end to boot, all with extremely limited ammo and strict time limits.

Attached: katina.jpg (480x360, 23K)

Pasternak and his drones were much tougher than 5 Wyverns

Solo versus having an entire army behind you

>500,000 units in just Asia
>It got number 2 through all of the slog of shit in the UK charts
>Most AC fans are in the West and no chart for that yet
So what are sale prediction boys?

Yeah, those allied planes sure were useful against Pasternak

Reminder that it was almost number one on Xbox for like a week when it came out and the multiplayer is still heavily populated.

>How dare is this game asking 60$ for ultra high quality and polished content made to respect my time?!
You're the reason why so many games fucking sucks.

>doesn't the navy also support you?

>beat out minecraft
Yep, I'm thinking ace kino is back on the menu.

Never seen them do anything against Pasternak but I suppose they technically do. I've always fought him over the airfield.

Nah, it doesn't really need a remake and that's coming from someone who spent a lot of time playing it. It's better for them to come up with an actual story of what happened during that corp.war instead of remaking ac3 that was basically a simulation. What people don't understand is that AC3 is pretty bare bones. Fans are used to radiochatter and prolonged missions. AC3 doesn't have any of that, it's basically short missions that you do until you've opened an ending and then you do it again taking different paths. If you play it right now then you'll see how "lonely" it is for the most part.

i'd really dig that as well desu, especially if they can come up with more futuristic plane designs

>first yellow he shoots down is one girl with a busted fighter
So.... this is the power...... of Jesus in an F-22A

o-oof, the big sweats and it's still winter here
I want to FUCk i mean DESTROY this big bird with my PENIS i mean MISSLES

Well, the futuristic planes are there and if the corporate war is canon then you'll see them anyway. It's just that I'd prefer a finalization of that corp.war arc rather than remaking the simulation part of it.

I still can't believe this track didn't make it to MP.

Is there any reason why I shouldn't use type b on high g turn? It seems to me you can turn tighter by only decelerating, but type b allows for the same type of turn as type a if you accellerate at the same time

It was mostly for people who were long-time fans. Lots of love towards the PS2 games in that. Not worth it at all to newcomers with the grinding, fuel system, and the lack of proper campaign.

>you can read about the enemy pilots in Zero
Oh fuck this is awesome.

>Outnumbered 10 to 1 by the enemies

how does the 3ds game hold up compared to the original PS1 game ?

Attached: 1549129491896.png (539x356, 70K)

What is the point of setting the game in the 80s? Most of the planes in ac7 are from before the 80s

Only the f35 and su-57 are from after the Y2K
Hell the f4 is from the fucking sixties and the f104 from the fifties
Planes are old as fuck

it's different and good enough. Play both, just turn off Maneuvers (basically QTEs) in settings for 3DS.

Also
>getting raped on hard
Fun as fuck though. Do I get anything if I disable an enemy instead of killing him?

Leaving yellow targets will take your ace style meter more towards Knight. Destroying them will take it more towards Mercenary.

It's a mix of Zero and 2. If you want another game with Squadron Battles then I would definitely play it. I actually like it more than the original.

>mission 16
> you have to escort this car
> there are ennemies on the road and the sky
>also your radar doesn't work properly so you don't know which vehicle/planes are your ennemies and which are your allies
>to solve the issue you need to keep aiming at them and then after a few seconds the game will tell you if it's an ennemy or not
>don't kill enough ennemies and the person you need to escort dies
>kill too many allies and the mission is over
>also it's during the night and there are clouds lol
Fuck this mission

This mission was fun as fuck.

I barely remember any clouds in that
also funnily enough for both 16 and 17 I swear most planes end up to be hostile anyways so there's not much point
the scenery blocking missiles was dumb though

Pro-tip:
Hold the triangle while passing by, makes it easier somehow.

This thread is now in solitary.

There's a reason his theme is called "Daredevil"

Hey it was cool concept and it would have been amazing to play. Don't judge

That mission is kino.

ok thanks anons, i think i'll buy it on my 3ds

Attached: 7 NUKES NOW WHAT.jpg (474x266, 24K)

Reminder that for all its faults, Assault Horizon has way better NPC AI who have actual tactics for and against you.

That's the best mission in the game though

Way better compared to what?

>>saved vidya games
>7th on the january sales chart
>#1 was kingdom hearts, the worst vidya series of all time
It didn't save vidya, it was just a light in the dark.

That's Cape Rainy Assault though

7. 7's NPCs don't do anything. And even when they do managed to shoot at something, their missiles do a small fraction of the damage yours does

I would've preferred either a Zero style competent wingman or 6 style competent overall military, yeah. I can't say I care that much though, at least they're not as pointless at in 5.

At least they tried to do the wing command thing with 5.

>wanting npc wingmen to steal your valuable points

>youtube

Attached: Ace Combat China Stronk.png (1066x456, 56K)

Coming to this from having played the trilogy, gotta say it feels this game was substantially harder. I S ranked all missions on Ace for all the trilogy games, but here I'm struggling to S rank all missions on normal.

That was just pointless though. Shouldn't have even included it since the AI is so braindead. At least in Zero and 6 they do things.

I only hated it because it's slow as fuck and you have to wait for the plot. AC vet btw

If you got a hit in and they (somehow) manage to finish it off, you still get the points.

I remember getting use out of it. At the very least it got them to engage other fighters so you're not the one plane in your squadron that literally all the enemies are shooting at.

>brought 8AGM into that mission
>mfw

At least it has it uses during the ambush at the end of the tunnel.

Attached: 1549065015036.png (160x198, 56K)

The mission itself was fun, the unknown targets thing made it annoying. Especially when units that the game says are allies start shooting missiles at you until you identify them so you fail the mission if you return fire.

no, AC7 unironically has the best enemy AI in the series
>Non-TGT flankers still can pull kulbits on you
>Tanks can literally shoot you down Batllefield-style: youtube.com/watch?v=AkPJpxTBFY8
>AD Tanks can shoot down your missiles
>A-10s will fly upside down to visually acquire their targets before they attack
>Drones can protect the Arsenal Bird by flying into your missiles

Attached: 6n8I6MdptKdj4iO_.webm (1280x720, 665K)

I'm a little more forgiving, but I still think it's playing a bit too safe and needed more room to breathe.

That was great. Actually trying something different for once.

>Non-TGT flankers still can pull kulbits on you
>Tanks can literally shoot you down Batllefield-style
>A-10s will fly upside down to visually acquire their targets before they attack

Wow never knew that, pretty cool. I found out about the AD tanks, CWIS on aegis cruisers and Arsenel bird drones the hard way.

7's AI is braindead. AH enemy pilots would try to trick you into slamming into the water, would lead you away from targets if you're focusing too much on them, etc. I like 7 but the AI is garbage.

>AH
>AI
its literally scripted bullshit and 100% predictable and against you

Ah yes, "tricking" you into slamming into the water through DFM bullshit like this, truly a marvel of computer programming

WELL YOU SHOVED IT IN MY FACE

I really want to try this game solely to get a good whiff of it, but its pulled from stores

can't forget this one

Attached: 1551029788895.webm (360x225, 1.98M)

They released New Dawn as a budget title anyways, I don't think they were planning on riding off of its success since its the Blood Dragon and/or Primal for Far Cry 5

Reminder that RustledRodriguez praised this game in a review saying it eliminated boring circle dogfights

At the player wasn't slammed into the ground? I guess?

good thing his lapdog b-reviewer liked 7

Every time I think I know how bad AH is, the game always finds a way to sink even lower.

Attached: 1549489886299.gif (500x374, 1.89M)

say all you want about AH, but the soundtrack is baller
youtube.com/watch?v=NPy85BftsYI

They slam you into the ground through the same way as the webm, through dfm cheating

say all you want about AH, but the soundtrack is baller
youtube.com/watch?v=-DkKuUGy5qM

Would you like to try again, user?

You're right, that's a pretty amazing soundtrack you linked

your deleted post had better sound design desu youtube.com/watch?v=NPy85BftsYI

The soundtrack was good, and the bit about Warwolf 1 realizing he was living his dream was kinda cool.

Everything else about that game was dogshit.

I don't know about DFM cheating. I meant bugs. I got locked into DFM a couple of times and as the game was trying to set up its BIG EPIC MOMENT I got dragged into the ground and fucking crashed.

Pretty sure I saw a plane fly through the environment as well. I understand what they were trying to do with DFM but holy hell did it not work.

Attached: Mihaly.png (1920x1080, 2.1M)

Amazing

Beautiful. This is a work of art.

>Everything else about that game was dogshit.
Hey now, don't forget the planes using appropriate language warnings for at least the Japanese and French jets, I really liked that. I understand why it's not in the strangereal games but I miss it.

Ahh.... So this is the power of an AH fan.

but im not even defending AH. the soundtrack is the only redeemable thing

That was literally the only thing I liked about AH and I was disappointed they didn't keep it
I miss my A-10 daddy voice

Oooh yeah. I completely forgot that was a thing.

Sure, I'll admit that's a cool bit of attention to detail.

What if I told you that Ace Combat 04 is the reverse of Ace Combat 2, where Fortress Intolerance is in North Point, and Megalith is in the Fairy Islands?

If Osea, one of the leaders in Aerospace uses a Mass Driver, why the fuck wouldn't the Usean Space Programs use mass drivers? Its obvious thats how they do things since the vertical launch pads of AC04 are a rarity in strangereal now

Attached: 1550642059384.gif (750x545, 1.53M)

>fires a missile so dangerously close to a protected asset that drones are able to guide it into the fucking president's fuselage
have you even beaten the game?

Attached: 1510002883671.jpg (690x720, 77K)

How long is AC:AH? I want to play it for the soundtrack alone.

But how would they shove F-22s everywhere if it's in the 80s?

4 hours tops

if anything I was disappointed they didn't even seem to mention what happened to Megalith

I think the YF-22 was made at the very, very tail end of the 80s. That's their way in.

But honestly, as awesome as the Raptor is it's been the signature plane of two different games now. The F-14 and F-15 (C and E) have had their time in the limelight. There's a lot of other aircraft that deserve the spot.

YF-19

YF-22
>inb4 1990 first flight
The F-22A saw service in the Belkan War in 1995, so it would make sense the YF-22 was developed earlier in Strangereal

Fuck, it was removed from Steam? Is there a way to get a cheap key?

just pirate it lol
