Why did we stop caring about this series?
Why did we stop caring about this series?
We didn't.
Because it was always shit?
because its shit
Black Flag came out when there was a drought of pirate/sailing games and people loved it for that. Now there's no reason to suffer through more Ubisoft open-world bullshit.
Somewhere around Unity/Syndicate. Odyssey was the best one by far though, too bad people got too tired of the shit to know it
Having not played AC since Black Fag, I bought Odyssey at a discount.
Alexios is a cool guy.
Only good ones are those which aren´t considered "pure AC games" such as Black Flag or Oddisey. You tell me.
Both Origins and Odyssey broke sales records for the franchise, so it seems we didn’t
Because the only ok one was the pirate game and the study part of it was the ass creed parts.
Imagine Black Flag without any animus or asscreed influence.

Terrible combat and ground-level exploration, shallow sea level gameplay that runs out of steam 2 hours in?
Odyssey was the best selling AC game in this gen, meaning it outsold Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate and Origins.
Origins had that spot before that, it outsold Syndicate 2:1
I played all of them up to 3, and then dropped them out of disgust. More than anything I hated how they pissed away Desmond's story. It felt like they were really going somewhere with that, and then just dropped it.
>End of 3
>"What the fuck just happened? Wait...I don't care. Fuck this stupid series."
Odyssey is an offline MMO grindfest at its worst. It's one of the most low effort cashgrabs in history of vidya selling only due to brand recognition and excessive marketing which probably costed more than 10x of production budget. Everyone who praises it is either a shill or a person who has never played a videogame before.
odyssey was shit, downgraded, retarded origins
not surprising from the studio that did syndicate, the downgraded, retarded unity
I stopped giving a shit around 3 because by fuck I don't care about the American revolution
Nigga I never started caring
after black flag
it became glaringly obvious that the less about the actual assassins the game is, the better it could ACTUALLY be
but we're fucking stuck with it
Because they stopped caring about it. They let it's body continue to run off for so long without a head that it took a year of no one buying it to get them to make any kind of meaningful changes. Now they just turned in into an RPG that I don't even know has assassinations in it anymore. AC had such an identity crisis over the years. They would take a hundred darts every year and throw them all at once at a dartboard and see what sticks. I don't think this series added a mechanic that was universally praised since they added sailing.
around #30 iirc
been a while
but Origins and Odyssey are both great games with lots to do?
Rogue is the best one.
