I don't understand the hate surrounding epic store.
What's the excuse? People say "It's spyware" then don't go any further into explaining what they mean?
Is it a meme?

Epic paid a lot of money to release Exodus exclusively on its Epic store to try and gain a monopoly. These are scummy business practices. Combine that with all the spyware accusations and you piss people off.
No, it's not a meme.
On the other hand it's good Steam is getting some competition a they desperately need some if they ever want to shit out something good again.
Fuck both companies though. I pirated the game.
Thats exactly what steam did with skyrim
Tencent
>Combine that with all the spyware accusations
So you take games from steam and then "It's spyware"
I get it.
Epic is in bed with the Chinese
Chinese spend every waking moment trying to infiltrate America
valve paid bethesda?
Not like America isn't doing the exact same thing. Mutts are just mad the chinks are competing.
>+2 social credits has been added to your account
The Chinks aren't competing, they've already won.
Epic has ties with chinese investors and will likely sell your info to whoever.
Not to mention I don't want to install yet another fucking launcher.
Steam drones throw out false accusations of spyware at every new competing platform. I have seen this for Bethesda's, Ubisoft's, Blizzard's, EA's, and not Epic's. They have a dumbass tribe mentality to their video game download client.
It's literally just seething steamcels.
2011 was a different time zoomer
>not
*now
>install Epic Store
>next day get on my browser and all my websites are in chinese
big think huh
i don't feel like supporting epic
Baed and Yarrrr pilled.
If I can avoid it, I will not contribute to the Chinese economy. I already did this for years now, not buying anything that is produced there. The fucking Chinks steal our technology, copy it and try to sell it back cheap because they have literal slave labor, which wrecks our own economy and all the traitorous company fucks see no alternative then to work with them to stay competitive.
Epic store is their attempt to infiltrate the gaming market in the west, I don't care how they "don't interfere with Epic's business", they make money off of it, and I will not give them a fucking cent.
The big think is that you are lying.
The people claiming it's spyware are retarded. All the companies that use Unreal Engine would absolutely be suing the fuck out of epic if it were.
TIANANMEN SQUARE MASSACRE
the epic store is a piece of shit and I dont like what their executives are doing
the chinese thing and the paid media mouth pieces and shilling on Yea Forums is just the cherry on top
I dont give a single fuck about epic
call me in 10 years when they might decide to make an unreal tournament again
Epic claims to be pro-consumer
Meanwhile it only seems to give benefits to publishers
Game reviews are opt-in by the publishers
Epic has been paying publishers/developers to sell exclusively on Epic after advertisements and product pages saying Steam was the place to go
As far as I'm aware, there are no differences in prices for games on both Epic & Steam (excluding Exodus which had a $10 discount for North America only) despite the much lower cost to publishers
Also Epic has some wild shit in their ToS/Eula (which would never hold but I digress) about using/exploiting user generated content for profit and moving all costs (from lawsuits and such) on to the user who made it even if they never even knew Epic was using it
Overall, Epic is kinda scummy and a clearly worse alternative to Steam from a consumer standpoint. That's glossing over the fact their launcher is nowhere near as feature rich as Steam
>say one thing
>say another unrelated thing in the following sentence
okay Lee, it's time to leave
Cringe
Steamdrones don't want to see their precious monopoly challenged because they hate the free market.
>it only seems to give benefits to publishers
Exactly this, you don't benefit shit from that. If they would reduce the average price of games by 10-20% and start a real free market competition, from which Europeans actually benefit, they can go to hell.
Free Market
>an economic system in which prices are determined by unrestricted competition between privately owned businesses.
Limiting the sale of a product to only one market seems awfully restricted
Epic isnt in bed with Chinese.
It is owned by China.
value post. You'll get nothing but ad hominem around here though
+2 social credit points have been added to your score
>monopoly
You might not want to use words you don't understand.
>be america
>claim to support free market

every tiem
Not so easy to do in China since they have an army a million strong.
As long as someone reads it and understands, it's worth it
I don't like to have 10 account to manage my games.
And it will only get wrost
I’ll at devils advocate and say it only costs $50. I’m sure if it was on Steam it’d be $60 baseline.
what if neither ameridumbs and chinectoids existed
Pirated it
Release the game on BOTH stores. Exclusivity deals are fucking cancer
Half the world's problems would be solved instantly.
I made an epic account, never touched it for a year and yet somehow my account was hacked with email/password leaked online along with thousands of others.
I have used steam for 7 years and this hasn't happened despite me using it all the time.
>+2 social credits has been added to your account
But it's already -983
>Steam is getting some competition
Yeah, no. Stop spouting this absolute bullshit.
Exclusive titles have existed on other publishers storefronts for awhile now.
If Steam was actually getting some competition, the other launchers would be offering more features and better services but they're not.
You have to be even more delusional than the average amerimutt to think that manpower is the deciding factor in a conflict. Just read up on what happens when China (or Russia for that matter) tries to field/mobilize their entire fighting force.
>mods block a Tienanmen Square post in this thread
Yea Forums confirmed epic games store exclusive
>Not so easy to do in China since they have an army a million strong.
China would get devastated if they went to war with the US. China has a long and terrible history of military failures against small and tiny countries. The US doesn't bother attacking China because they make all of America's consumer goods really cheap.
pretty sure last light was $49.99 and there was a 10% off deal as well
rule 10, fuckwit
>Steam is getting some competition
how is paying a for a game to be only on your platform competition?
Nigga mutts couldn't even handle a few sandniggers in rags and rusty AK's without dronestriking the shit out of everything first from 5 KM away.
Chinese probably know they suck at war.
They would just nuke everyone.
Huh I had no idea. I don’t think I got LL until Redux came out.
I'm not supporting any company that gives Chinese investors an in-road, a foothold into the gaming industry. Specifically pc gaming. At no point do I think I would use the epic store. Again, this is strictly because I dislike the chinese, not the store itself.
>challenge steam
>just buy up shit for exclusivity rights on your launcher that has fucking 0 options and is garbage in every way compared to steam
Literally just put effort into your shit and people wont take a fat sloppy dump on it all day? Also don't be owned by chinks and have your shit be literal spyware is a start, go fuck yourself
and this
The only reason I have Steam installed is because I have games that require Steam to be installed. My Desktop has always served well as a launcher for my non-Steam games.
Yeah but we're supposed to rule the world.
If that ever happens we're all fucked thanks to your jew overlords.
>game autosaves in the middle of my car flipping
>permanently fucked, every time it reloads I just start spinning wildly and die
>only one save slot
You have no quicksaves?
>China sends the order to fire their nukes
>due to cheap wiring, some of the launch orders don't happen
>Many of the hatches that do get the orders don't open due to faulty mechanisms to swing them open
>the missiles crash into the silo doors and break the soil apart
>the few missles that get out of their silos start to sputter out as the rocket fuel was mixed with water as the provider was saving money
>the one that makes it to the US had a fake primer put into it so it harmlessly crashes into some Homeless camp in LA
>Everyone declares war on North Korea finally, thinking they were the ones to send such a shitty missile
>China sends a military response to protect their ally
>most of the guns they have are just prop guns
>the tanks are the same way or don't even start
>China gets humiliated on a global scale as they suffer the most causalities, even more than North Korea
windows is a spyware
This reminds me of the time that I listened to Yea Forums about not getting windows 10 for free and now I’m still stuck with shitty 8.1.
I don't like the epic store because it's downloader is a piece of shit
>These are scummy business practices
No they aren't, they're just normal business practices. Epic did nothing wrong.
I pirated the game, it's great. I would honestly buy it this instant if it wasn't an epic store inclusive title.
>inb4 steamshill
I much prefer GOG. I'm just really not comfortable with installing chink shit on my macine, giving money to Tencent, and the whole last minute switch was kind of scummy.
I hope the deal was worth it for A4, because I honestly enjoyed the game, and while I think Last LIght was superior I can tell there was real talent and passion behind this game as half-baked and buggy as it is sometimes.
Oh well, I'll grab the redux version in a year I guess.
whats stopping you from installing ltsb 2016?
1989
Tencent has strong links to the Chinese communist party, it's a matter of morals.

>Carlo Ivo Alimo Bianchi, CEO & Founder, Storm in a Teacup, said: “Our relationship with Epic and the decision to use the Unreal Engine have provided fantastic opportunities for our studio, enabling a greater creative freedom and the ability to double-down on quality for our games. To launch on the Epic games store feels like the perfect next step and we are delighted that our partnerships with both Wired Productions and Epic Games will help propel Close to the Sun to achieve our ambitions.”
>“It’s great news for independent developers and publishers that Epic has opened up these incredible opportunities for its partners,” said Leo Zullo, Managing Director, Wired Productions. “Success in this industry is hard to come by and the industry relies on each other to drive progress. Great games need great developers, who need great tech, who need great publishers, who need great distribution opportunities.”
>Close to the Sun is an “atmospheric horror game” developed by Storm in a Teacup. Set in 1897, it takes place on a ship complex created by Nikola Tesla in the pursuit of knowledge. In this alternate version of world history, many scientific breakthroughs have already taken place and had a major impact on world society. As a young journalist looking for her sister, you quickly realize that something has gone terribly wrong, as the entire ship complex is deserted, with a single word painted over the entrance: quarantine.
Gaben is watching his empire slowly crumble around him like the movie Scarface, except the white powder is the stuff from doughnuts
>I don't understand the hate surrounding epic store.
Everybody uses steam and people hate inconvenience. What's there to understand?
>Combine that with all the spyware accusations and you piss people off.
Why doesn't it piss Steam drones off?
>Great games need great developers, who need great tech, who need great publishers, who need great distribution opportunities
And a great firewall too
Fucking chink shill
I guess because I don't care about minor inconveniences it doesn't bother me as much. I've got no problem having games from Steam, Epic Launcher and GOG. Would feel the same about Origin if it wasn't fucking EA.
NOOOOOOOOOO YOU MUST HATE EVERYTHING THAT ISN'T STEAM
Exactly this
Tim knows he offers no benefit over Steam to consumers. So his only tactic is to target the devs that make the games. Good thing this whole store is being propped up by a shitty trend mode thats on its way out. He can't keep running his store the way he is forever
They dont have that many nukes, they dont have good launch capabilities. Also, they suck at invading because logistics is a nightmare on their end and in their region. That said, they cannot be invaded either. The only way they can win is through economy and subversion - both being entwined.
