Tried getting into Apex Legends over the weekend, but BR is too autistic of a genre for someone who doesn't have time to slowly run around for 20 minutes just to get flanked and killed by some kid with purple armor. Titanfall 2 and single player action games are definitely more of my speed.

Yeah she got preggo when I was doing GTAO. I managed to get 93% of all achievements but the remaining stuff is dependant on other people. Since I’m not in a static friend group who can grind the hiests in order without dying I’m not doing them.

I typically find a game with a approximate 30hour play time to finish and get maybe 80-90% of the cheevos in a single play through by some grinding then do a different game. I like story based games rather than indie thingys so it’s a pain as I drift about a bit between games because I don’t want to start something I know will need undivided attention for 3 hours to get through a tutorial and learn the mechanics. Fitting that in in the evening means ignoring wife. As a result i save it for my shift break when she’s at work lol.

When I first entered real adulthood, I didn't have any time. By the time everything settled down I realized that gaming is just mindless hedonism and false achievement and my time could be better spent on the Word, improving my real life skills, and planning for my family's financial future. So now I am gaming less as a choice. Still playing shit and even collecting gaming shit but not spending a part time job worth of game time a week anymore. It's not worth it, except as a mindless bit of relaxation like a movie.

I don't want to lie to you, for some people it's too late especially if you got that far in life through all the social hubs you went through without making long lasting friends, socializing requires effort most loners never even put in young or old, it takes breaking boundaries and getting out of your comfort zone long enough for it to grow bigger, observing people in different situations to learn how to act, from parents to friends, etc, but regardless you need to get in shape, it's extra important if as you said it's affecting your confidence and self worth, as long as you're fat you'll never be happy about yourself, and as long a you're unhappy you'll keep getting fatter, if not for confidence and looks do it for health.

If you haven't already I strongly recommend lurking /fit/ for a bit, at the very least for the entertainment value, and you can always go out with work buddies or close family, infiltrate their social circles and make one of your own, I wouldn't advise going out to social venues alone, it'll just depress you even more.

I guess I'd have the time for vidya if I wanted to, but it's more the fact that my attention span now doesn't last until update patches download, my hands hurt gripping controllers for too long, my eyes hurt staring at screens and my reflexes are absolutely shocking.

Oh man I know the feeling I'm 26 but I hit it hard in my teens and early twenties. Now I struggle to stay up for 24 hours.

I work on projects now too, but I still play games, I just tend to play quick, pick-up-and-play stuff, which is fine as I've always done that anyway. I just don't play for long blocks of time anymore.

Feels like I'm way better at games now though, I have more patience and will wait and analyze things more.

There's other stuff to do when you're living alone. Cleaning, groceries, cooking etc. Plus, not everyone works 9-5. Six days a week I wake up at 6am, I'm dead tired by 11pm. I only get 3 hours in the afternoon to play.
I'm quitting on Friday though, will probably triple that time in the next month.

Single, live alone, work 20-25 hours a week with enough money left over every month. I like it this way, I don't like relationships that much and I don't see the point of working more than 30 hours max when I don't need the money.

I worked the night shift for 8 months. It was comfy but I couldn't handle not having a social life at all. I mean, I'm not a very social person but I'd like to have the option.

I'm just a cleaner actually, but I work nights for two days a week and then a couple hours in the evening for several other days. I usually have about £300 left over every month when every bill and groceries are paid for.

I prefer cleaning to anything else because you're not stuck with people for hours.
