Death Stranding

realistically speaking, what is the gameplay going to be like?
>"protag has a fear of touch that he slowly overcomes"
>"brings people together"

Cinematic tps with stealth sections

i hope it doesnt rely too much on online features. id like to play a single player campaign without interacting with anyone.

open world delivery game with environmental puzzles.

kojima said something about it not being about sticks but about ropes. thats not vague at all. thanks kojima

It is in development hell and will be cancelled.

How many years has it been since this game was announced and we still don't know how the fuck the game will play? And yet people are sucking Kojima's balls.

That means it'll be a linear story.
But unlike a movie game, you'll probably have more freedom and choices.

So Kojima's just going to make a choose your own adventure movie

Has to be at least 4 or 5 years by now.

Yeah but look at all these actors you've heard of that are going to be in it!

some of his ramblings about sticks and ropes:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_Stranding#Gameplay

It was announced at E3 2016, we're only closing in on 3 years.

I'm shocked how anyone can have hype left for the game at this point. It's not even the fact that it was revealed years ago, it's how there's still not even a hint of what the actual gameplay will be about. At least with MGS you could be pretty comfortable with it being a stealth action game. I keep forgetting Death Stranding even exists, and I was excited like most Kojimafags when it was first shown.

I'm not hyped, I'm just curious what will come out of it.

The gameplay will be a generic 3rd person shooter where the character breathes heavy and flops around when you're low on health.

Kojima is too busy plowing white interns to work on his latest movie.

The game can't even be in development for more than 3 years considering when MGSV was released you tards (and I doubt the development of DS started instantly after that)

5 years development is completely standard these days for AAA games, so we might not see DS released for another 2 years. None of this means that the game is in any kind of "development hell" like how you assume.

Stealth action in comfy post apoc Iceland.

does Yea Forums seriously consider now MGSV to be a moviegame?
these memes are really getting ridiculous

How is it not a movie? Kiefer Sutherland is in it.

This. I actually think it's going to be a pretty normal game but with weird and wild story told in cutscenes.

third person cinematic experience with some stealth moments and a LOT of walking forward simulator sections. The story is going to be 2deep4u and have an online element that plays a lot like Dark Souls' online features

I have a feeling that the gameplay is going to be something like this

your goal is just to get from point A to point B through a large, open landscape, and basically survive it. There will be all kinds of supernatural and realistic hazards and you will be probably able to equip/find all sort of equipment and consumables.

there will be also a dark souls like summon/invade system, where other players can hop into/out of your world through your whole journey (or maybe your worlds become "shared", so there is no real host/summon relationship, and you can both advence with the story)

that, and ofc the occasional scripted scenes, bossfights

>third person cinematic experience with some stealth moments and a LOT of walking forward simulator sections.
so basically Red Dead Redemption2?

It's going to be a disaster and flop hard. But I like the concept and designs

walking simulator like all the trailers have shown so far

>flop hard
no. Because it's kojima, mainstream review platforms will give it 10/10 scores automatically
regardless of quality

do potential customers take much notice of reviews to influence their purchase? if i thought the game looked a bit shit i dont care if game website x gives it 10/10.

Carrying a bunch of shit around and then trying to not lose any. Iniitially it's just one bag, but later on you're carrying a lot more. Being forced to leave some behind, or temporarily stash to cross a bridge, then return to get the remainder. Finding means to carry them more efficiently (see; the shot in one of the trailers where a bunch of drones are equipped with packages and they follow his footsteps). Defend them and yourself in ocassional shooting sections. Stealth around the weird supernatural elements. Finding the optimal route during traversal.

At least, this shit is what I took from it as gameplay elements from the trailers.

>Carrying a bunch of shit around and then trying to not lose any.

is it just me or does that sound not very fun to play?

I think it's got potential. MGSV already tapped into this with saving the POW's, with the most well-realized example demonstrated in Ground Zeroes.

Loving del Toro just chilling out with all these fantastical characters.

>gameplay
It's a movie. It's going to be 6 hours worth of cutscenes and 4 hours of gameplay.

there better be a lot more to the game than delivering packages if they want me to buy it.

Fucking god damn does this look comfy. I wanna spend my evenings sipping tea and playing this.

Yeah, but with 3 years of development, we should at this point at least know what kind of genre this game will be.

Will it be an action adventure game? A stealth game? Turn-based RPG? Survival horror? A walking simulator? What kind of game will it be? At this point, why is Kojima still being tight-lipped about the basics of this game?

But I'll keep comin'!

It's going to be visually impressive walking simulator with cutscenes and expensive voice actors.

It's an open world TPS. Kojima said this years ago.

>implying kojimbofags alone wont prop the sales up

Personally speaking, I just want this game to be weird as fuck
I want Kojima to go full bizarro mode and throw as much weird nonsensical shit as possible
I want it to scare off all the normies and leave me alone so I can just delve into the zany shit. Give me upside down french actresses. Give me babies getting used as batteries and giving thumbs up. Give me norman reedus giving birth. Give me cryptic philosophies that have a 50/50 shot of being either intensely deep moral quandaries or incoherent ramblings

I ant a AAA budget game that the journalists are getting paid to mindlessly praise, when in reality they have no fucking clue what's going on
I don't even give a shit any more. I just want Kojima to have complete freedom to ramble about hitchcock and el topo and whatever shit that comes across his mind

>Give me norman reedus giving birth.

out his penis?

He explained this years ago for christ's sake.

Attached: STICK and CORD.jpg (612x181, 31K)

If possible, Kojima, wont want us to know shit about the game and keep everything a surprise when people actually play it, of course then theres marketing department so we´ll see

Yes
why the fuck not
I don't even care any more

game looks like boring, pretentious trash

If Sony is funding it to the tune of tens of millions (if not more) you can bet it's going to be a lot more pedestrian and normal than what you're probably hoping for. I hate to sound like a rusefag but Kojima isn't exactly known for being honest with his trailers.

>Doesn't describe gameplay

>STICK
>CORD

what the fuck por favor

I'm confident this game will be good because as of yet Kojima hasn't made a game with bad gameplay.

In fact, his strength has always been in gameplay and not story. Something most people miss out on.

Attached: Death Stranding.jpg (1636x1381, 724K)

At the very least, whatever engine Kojima is using looks incredible. I look forward to more games being made on this engine. With the game being a PS4 exclusive, I hope that it means they'll spend a good amount of time properly optimizing the game.

It's not the engine specifically but the team. It's the same engine as Horizon and that game was ugly as fuck outside of highly cherrypicked shots that hide the shit draw distance of eternal fog.

he said the stick is striking, shooting and kicking but i dont think hes explained the chord part.

"For tying yourself to what you find important"

There was that strange apparatus the guy in the trailer had on that tethered him to his men with long cords. Also there's the baby Reedus.

Proper development started in early 2017 so just about two years now.

its still not clear how that will influence gameplay.

Gameplay is gonna be sweet, I can't wait to play it in 2025

>MGSV shows most of its content in it's trailers
>Yea Forums hates it and wishes there were more surprises
>Kojima intentionally withholds info about DS to keep it a mystery
>Yea Forums gets upset and wants to know everything about the game

For killing yourself after you've played DS.

Sounds terrible and plausible.

Ikr I'm scared too

ah inserting his native japanese culture.

there is still no actual gameplay out there tho, we are still at a phase where we don't even know what the game is about at all.
they only showed a teaser so far which was just a landscape showcase. Real gameplay presentation is probably going to come at PSX

The Japanese voice sessions are in the middle of recording, so that probably means the cutscenes are all finished. Mike Cerny also said he had never seen a game being developed as quickly and efficiently. I don't think we'll see it this year but I have a strong feeling it will come out in 2020.

The tutorial in mgsv takes about 2 hours to get out of with all the cutscenes and the guy crawling on the floor

kojima is being fucking sneaky. will he ruse us?

If that's most of the content then that means there's almost zero gameplay and that's worrying. It might turn out to be a real walking simulator

I'm not going to defend the first mission because it's undeniable dogshit (especially since you have to play it twice) but it's such a small part of the game. Most of the main game has very few cutscenes or large scripted sequences.

>it's undeniable dogshit
consider suicide

hahaha that webm
