I love the new direction. But I hope it changes again.
It's an okay game. I don't like the new RPG lite direction.
Last AC game I was able to finish was Unity. Syndicate and everything that followed was trash. It was either too easy or had the completely retarded levelling system that made the game less about stealth and more about making your numbers bigger
All long as they keep scratching my collectathon itch they'll be okay in my book. It's not an amazing game but considering that it was made by Ubi it's pretty impressive.
>Do you like the direction the series took with Origins?
yup, Odyssey is a little worse than Origins though, less detail, more copypaste
I have high hopes for A team next game now. Hope it's not set in Rome or another 17th c+ period.
I will play and love every mainline AC game but if it's in Rome for a 3rd time after Brotherhood and Odyssey, I'll be fucking livid.
>Do you like the direction the series took with Origins?
No.
Could have been awesome if it wasn't so focused on realism.
I'm never going to get my modern game about the greek pantheon god fucking damn it
I'm a sucker for equipment showing on my guy so I enjoyed it. Just hope I can customize skin and build in the future.
>focused on realism
Kassandra was a literal demigod. She had a spear that allowed her to anticipate opponents moves, she continued to live until 2018, she could jump from any height and land safely, and she defeated all the classical Greek creatures.
Greece is very different from Rome contrary to popular belief. But yeah, I really want game set in middle east again. Persia would be the best, but I'd take arab conquest times too, Ubi probably don't have guts to tell the truth about that.
.
I would love an AC game filled with Prince of Persia references and feel.
>Playing as the girl
Ew.
If I only wanna play 1 should I go for Origins or Odyssey?
I didn't want to. But I like the overarching story so I had to follow the canon.
I don't like the loot, or the RPG parts of the game. The actual combat is okay, but it often hits a point of a 1v1 taking too long if cooldowns aren't up. It also tends to just promote cheesing Mercenaries or even large fights when you try to assassinate cultists members by using LoS and stealth grass to reset the fight and regen HP + allow rush assassinations. You could easily take on a fucking army in this game despite what people tell you
Odyssey improves in every way
Persia is a magical place in reality, but not THAT magical.
No, not at all. This direction completely killed the franchise. The combat is garbage and stealth is useless. Last good AC was Unity.
China or Persia is their only choice, and they're not picking China because that's going to seem super-racist.
They might pick something more modenr like Russia. If they're fags.
Just pick one. I played both for over 90 hours each and I think I still prefer Origins' setting and character.
I don't think this is true. They're really very close gameplaywise. In fact the changes I noticed the most like the bow system is a downgrade.
Origins - more handcrafted things, less RPG elements, world feels complete
Odyssey, a bit too many fields and filler, but RPG elements are Gothic tier(yes) with diablo collectathon.
Origins got better people making it, it's clear as day, Odyssey got better ideas behind it. Hard choice, depends what you like more greece of egypt.
Best VA 2019. Kas is charming character, Alexios is a buffoon.
>No sailcloth like in Zelda
>No riding dragons like in Shadow of War
Why would I play a game that lets me do less things than other games?
The abilities you can map to keys change up the basic combat/gameplay in a massive way. Otherwise they are basically the same combat system.
>Gothic tier
Hell no. The quests are so fucking bad and 90% of them are in areas you would probably go for a checklist anyways. On several occasions I would clear out a fortress, only for a side quest to tell me some soldier/officer took their families valuable after slaughtering them and to get it back. Which would only be looting something you previously could not loot in the same fortress
It's a grindy mes full of micro-transactions and you are all sheep for not noticing or having a problem with this.
Fag.
Well, my only real issue is that I preferred the system of equipping a shotgun or machine gun bow rather than having an arrow equivalent that you sort through. The light bow, quick fire thing wasn't in Odyssey at all if I correctly recollect.
that's what gothic quests were about, go replay it
it was also about collecting and clearing places, or fighting someone on guard
by Gothic tier though I meant how conversations are set up, I liked that.
it had same system with bows as Origins, it's simply that they moved it to skills tree instead of bow types
bow types are still there, though, it's about how fast they shoot now
YOU'RE the fag. You wanna be a sexslave? Women in Athens were fucking executed if they could read and write.
Says the fag who likes a plank with a manface.
How's Unity now? Did they improve its optimization?
friendly reminder that 86% of odyssey players chose to play as Alexios, not Kassandra, and trying to say that kass is 'cannon' is solely because of jewbisoft being unable to accept reality.
 I believe you but I'm pretty sure I just had to finally stop after 120 hours. I should've caught that but I just trashed the inferior bows as they flowed through my inventory. That probably would've been helpful to know for the legendary animal parts.
I don't know. Now that I hear it's canon I feel like I need to play her.
You better not be bullshitting me like with Mass Effect though. Girlshepard was fucking terrible.
They made it clear that she's canon. And not "cannon" like a ball. It really doesn't matter.
I seriously hope they take the choice shit out next time though and take us back to a relevant time when the Assassins exist.
>Women in Athens were fucking executed if they could read and write.
you are stupid and don't know shit. The only restrictions was on wives not to attend celebrations. Heterae were very educated, rich and free women, they weren't Athens citizens though, minor inconvenience.
im actually not. google it.
actually fuck it ill google it for you
gamerant.com
there you go. 2/3rds of all players picked alexios
>big open nothing
>retarded combat
fuck no I miss italy, and cool architecture, that is populated.
Kas is really good, I tried both, Alexios VA was directed wrong.
She's canon. There are female mercs everywhere in the world. None of it makes sense. If you play as Alexios, you're just asking for bad acting, things that didn't happen canonically, and further juxtaposition between the equality warrior world you're presented.
Yeah. 'cuz they'd be dead if they were. This is like 1000 BC, women were just drooling piles of vagina outside of Sparta.
again, your lack of education shows. Heterae weren't for sex fyi.
So-so game. Kinda off the rails for an Asscrud game since you do very little assassination. Shame about all the SJW rewriting of history though. Makes a 7/10 game a 3/10 in my book.
Origins was amazing
ODyssey is fucking garbage
See I don't get this. People get angry because women are treated like people, which they are, while nobody bats an eye at Julius Caesar AKA one of the greatest men who ever lived is treated like a fool, which he most certainly wasn't.
One is rewriting history and the other's remaking it.
>She's canon
in the novel no one reads and it's a complete ass pull, animations are based on alexios, she was added after
i likee the rpg mechanics but i don't like that enemies that are so much as a level or two above you will almost instantly kill you
Who said anything about women you double-nigger? SJW rewriting includes the negative portrayal of great men like Julius Caesar. A highly politically charged change no less.
No it doesn't. It's about how women can fight. Nobody cares about Caesar.
I know that they had to change the formula eventually, but I miss the way AC2 and Brotherhood played.
At least there was some sort of semblance to the PoP games, if they decide to turn AC into Witcher-light they could at least reboot Prince of Persia again to scratch my parcour itch
