aeris for obvious reasons

Attached: dev's waifu insert.jpg (287x576, 123K)

All established characters in each game while I run with a party of custom generic class characters.
The same goes for other tactics games like FFT unless they force the MC and others into certain missions like assholes.

fucking little shit

that gay art kid from persona 5

>t. soulless

Anyone that wasn't Cloud, Cid, or Tifa

fuck you

Sub tifa for Red/Barret

I didn't bench her

In Lost Odyssey you pretty much shelve anyone that's not an Immortal by the end of the game since they learn every skill from the mortal party members. Only one worth keeping is Sed since his design and weapon are cool

BLAH BLAH BLAH

>that hint of inverted nipple

All non-cute girl sub-four-star servants in FGO except Arash.

Attached: kamikazetime.jpg (707x1000, 196K)

but she's hot and does cool air combos

>got the unique "party member hasn't been in a fight for a long time" skit for raven and Repede
for me it was those two in Vesperia

>Shit AI
>Takes forever to get all the stuff you need to do air combos
>Most bosses can't be air comboed

>”The same goes for other tactics games like FFT”
>not rocking fucking Cloud Strife in your party
I can understand preferring certain custom characters because of the skills they might have, but voluntarily benching ALL “named” characters for no good reason is just being autistic.

You need to equip a chunk of skills and grind up arte usage to even get to that point. She's fucking garbage in your first run.

Attached: Mallow.gif (348x353, 34K)

From his kit to his personality to his look, everything about him is boring

Attached: Kaidan_Character_Box.png (650x550, 265K)

the first time you get to the citadel he has a couple mildly funny back and forths with ashley, as I recall. absolutely nothing after that though

name a single fucking thing this bitch does that is worth having her on the team

anything she can do aigis can do better

Attached: yukari-takeba-shin-megami-tensei-persona-3-9.44.jpg (210x240, 13K)

Really? I was planning on buying the game for her, guess not

Aigis can't heal, hit wind weaknesses or wear sexy costumes

This. Yusuke is the only member i haven't used extensively, and i have no plans to.

cait sith...

yuffie wasnt that bad.

> aigis cant heal

Correct, literally useless character

Morgana's annoying but he's such a god tier support character that you had to run him most boss encounters if you wanted steady team healing, at least til you get Queen

Morgana is also amazing for Crit Fishing. The only way to recruit some shadows is with crits.

the advertisers
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOODS

everyone from p5 that wasn't ryuji, makoto, or ann
ann is a shit character and all but I never felt like replacing her, though yusuke is a much better character and probably would have served a similar role

>Morgana's annoying but he's such a god tier support character that you had to run him most boss encounters if you wanted steady team healing, at least til you get Queen
I think I kicked him out of the party the second it was possible.
I literally never heard bonafide once in the entire game, I don't know why people used him.

Honestly only characters I didn't particularly like using were Yusuke and Haru. Haru would be so much better if she didn't join right at the end of the game and you could build ranks with her sooner. I did end up using Yusuke (and everyone else, really) against the final boss and they each have their strengths

I REALLY want to use him but there's literally no point

Attached: s-l1000.jpg (341x500, 51K)

Attached: Patty_Fleur.jpg (268x594, 103K)

Are there even any RPGs that give you a decent amount of party members, but let you just fucking use them all without the benching pretense?

I think star ocean 5 has like a party of six and you can use them all at the same time.

Berseria only allow you to use the normal 4 but you can swap out party members on the fly (one of the best tales mechanics IMO)

6 isn't really a large amount, but both Xillia and Berseria let you have 4 in battle, but also seamlessly swap out members in-battle.

Attached: josette2.png (200x200, 60K)

you fucked yourselve.

2 most recent atelier games have 6 party members and while you can technically only have 3 out you use the other 3 as "supporters"

Final Fantasy X is designed around using everyone, except Khimari

Little Big Chef is the dopest shit
ya played urself

critical moment is the single best spell in the game. helps shes a better caster than rita.

she's too annoying and doesn't fit with the rest of the team.

He's good for earlier on, but gets replaced by ironically the guy he ends up replacing in the first place Ryuji for me. Yusuke is still the best party member in terms of character though.

Rita is the single best caster in the entire series, so I think that's just your lolicon tendencies talking.

Any male character in a JRPG, assuming there is a female party member that can take their place.

benched and then killed

Attached: traitor.jpg (540x266, 19K)

>not Marta or Milla

Attached: 1526508996662.gif (480x270, 514K)

if you Control her yourself, yes. but if you need a caster in the background just casting high level spells, patty is the better choice since she can heal not only your HP but your TP as well. also, falling ice is fucking broken.

based zelos hate poster.

i guess. wish the dived into her backstory more.

If you're playing single player then Judith is one of the best units easily. If you're playing with friends though she can be a huge nuisance. Karol is the opposite. Pretty bad experience with bots, but with friends I would argue he might be the best unit in the game or at least one of them.

This dumb whore forcing her way into the group has damn near ruined the game for me just 10 hours in. I haven't played it in months.
Without spodles, does she get better?

Attached: Eleanor_Model_Render.jpg (1200x1962, 270K)

>shit support
>shit damage
>shit health
Literally what was this fucker supposed to be good at? If it wasn't for the fact that you don't get your fourth party member until halfway through the fucking game, I would have never used him.

Attached: Kisling.jpg (273x457, 28K)

>Benching Judy

what a fag.

Attached: judy miffed.gif (100x100, 10K)

Thank God for the porn though

Attached: 94386583465872365.jpg (826x1200, 281K)

Eleanor is literally one of the best Tales girls.

>strongest character in the game
>literally no point

You must be a magicfag. STRCHADS know that the ultimate team is Yusuke/Ryuji and then either Makoto to round out that buff trio and give minor heals like the healslut she is OR Gun Haru because fuck you and everyone around you

Carol effectively as soon as Rita joins.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions

Eleanor is best girl. i want to marry her!

Good choice, she's completely useless unless you play her yourself. AI Patty will just fuck you over.

Also she's fucking annoying. I can't believe weebs fall head over heels every time for this genki loli shit.

i like kaidan
i always benched ash bc i played a solider. she is literally useless to me. atleast kaidan can open shit

she's the best character in the game

ok now how about a real answer

Attached: 1391417436951.jpg (542x404, 38K)

I seriously can't fucking reasonably use this bitch.
Any of those crazy air combos you see have everyone else doing nothing for a reason; if there are ANY variables other than what she is doing, all of her attacks will whiff. A very slight change in enemy position or orientation will make all of her shitty, ultra-specific air attacks miss. There's no reason to ever use her outside of making a solo air combo video to get people to suck your dick for being able to fight a motionless enemy.

Now lets see you pull off those retarded fucking moves in a real fight or against a boss.

Attached: raven disappointed.png (562x562, 250K)

I think X had the best idea about being able to use everyone, that I haven't seen replicated sadly. Always 3 characters at the time, but you can switch anyone in if you spend a turn to do so. I wish this caught on.
I hate having a cast of cool characters only to be restricted.

she redeems herself to the point where immediately after finishing the game I pulled up her theme on youtube and teared up

>Rita is the single best caster in the entire series,
Yeah dude I sure love being motionless at the edge of the map pressing a single button.
Instead of having my spells be melee attacks by tapping instead of holding them like Milla.
Or seamlessly transitioning between melee artes and spell artes like Eizen and Magilou.

fuck you, I bet you actually like Futaba too

You can barely even do basic combos because of the retarded tech out mechanic bosses have.

She's there to make everyone else look even more insane by comparison. She gets better in that she stops being weirded out and starts accepting everyone, trusting them, and following their lead instead of pushing her stupid ideologies on them.

luna crush-jump-luna talon or moonbeam. thats all you need to do.

Yeah that wasn't the case in the 360 version. I specifically remember infinitely comboing Yeager in the memories dungeon with Yuri into a mystic arte twice in a row. You can't do that anymore in the definitive edition since they made the bosses tech out and Overlimit WAY more often.

I guess I'll give it another shot then

Literally useless.

Attached: 1534626693638.png (810x400, 370K)

i thought so at first but she really grew on me as the game went on. she's one of my favorite characters now

>Be the only Adept Rogue in the entire fucking game.
>Switches from Gun to Broadsword when you fight him in the arena.
>Talks about how he's not going to seal his Broadsword anymore or be ashamed of his retarded past.
>Gives you his member address.
>Never uses his Broadsword ever again.
>Literally just a steamgunner who can wear heavy armour.
Matsu you absolute useless piece of shit.
To make matters worse you don't ever get a party member who uses broadswords except yourself.

Sadly the dog in Dragon Age Origins.

He isn't funny like Torneko or as killy as Alena, so I almost never used him beyond his own chapter.

Attached: 1537623468055.jpg (1024x768, 222K)

Fucking what
It's one of the best

>benching
>not swapping out regularly to keep your team unpredictable and fresh, learning new synergies at the same time

Attached: 3324754281_b58531d9c8_b.jpg (768x1024, 139K)

>ME1
Ashley (guess who dies on Virmire)
>ME2
Thane (fuck this guy) Samara (too squishy) Grunt (boring tank) Jacob (useless)
>ME3
EDI (she's the ship. stay on the fucking ship and put your giant metal tits away)

>DAO
Dog (useless) Sten (no second spec, no unique equipment apart from his sword which is shit and you're not going to get until late in the game usually. the bioware stepchild, like his character though)

How am I supposed to like this guy when the only real development he has in the game is relegated to his optional side quests?

Attached: 088ccf89d82262c325bc35fe6f961bbb.jpg (730x1095, 126K)

He is a very good healer though

why do people like vesperia again? you have to wait so long for anything that makes any of the party members useful to pop up that by the time you do have a useful set of skills and the retarded artes grinding bullshit out of the way the game is over or you're on NG+. though i don't know why you'd want to NG+ after the taste left by the laughable last act of the game.

>not using and learning every character

I never believed in benching. To me, every character is part of the game's content and I paid for the full experience.

Attached: cat-sc-neko_00325-360x360.jpg (360x360, 30K)

>shit stats
>bland personality
>class doesn't even function as its meant to in the vanilla game

Attached: image.png (210x330, 116K)

Because of the characters and story? The gameplay is always incredibly easy in any tales game in the main story and you can win almost every fight by just smashing your face on the controller.

>characters and story?
Both of which are really weak, even for Tales. People like Vesperia for its end-game combat and the cel-shaded visuals.

>play vesperia
>beat gattuso
>karol says :"huh, it hardly put up a fight"
>bench him for the rest of the game

use the mod that turns him into a summon.

>benching your cows
Disgusting OP

>Playing Trails in the Sky SC
>End game has very unique dialogue and cutscenes depending on who you bring to the final battles leading up to the final boss
>Have to bring out the benched party members to get these scenes because they're actually pretty cool and worth doing

>Playing Trails in the Sky Third Chapter
>Final dungeon requires you to make four different parties of 4 members out of all 16 characters
>70% of the cast is underleveled
>Luckily the final dungeon gives you 9999+ EXP to help these benched party members level up

Okay, fuck you still for doing that, but at least I wasn't put into an impossible situation.

Attached: fuckness.png (491x365, 262K)

>suddenly forced to use a perma-benched party member due to story

Attached: worried.jpg (964x912, 60K)

But Cloud is shit in FFT
Even more so if you play the PSP version
She's one of three healers, the second being Ken who only has single heals and the third being (you) who is better off attacking
>.hack//
>broadsword
I thought you were forced into twin daggers?

The scenes where you beat Walter without Zin and Luciola without Schera are so disappointing that they may as well have just forced you to bring them along.
For the ones with just some little unique dialogue though, like the Cassius fight in 3rd, I think it's neat that you get different dialogue depending on who you bring. If anything, the fact that I felt the desire to go through the cutscene before the fight with every single character just to see what they'd have to say is an indicator that the story has done its job with having interesting characters.

If you haven't gotten to playing Zero and Ao yet, they mostly fix this problem by having the whole party show up to cutscenes regardless of who your main 4 in combat are.

the Galthana kids from FFT
One of these playthroughs I might bother trying them out but not this time.

I hated her even after she got "better".

What
>reduce Malak's faith to 3
>his Untruth skills deal lots of damage
>he is immune to magic
The PSP port even makes his and Rafa's skills slightly more reliable

I dunno mate, FFT magic in general just left a sour taste in my mouth but I never thought either of them were bad units, I just never got around to using them. Sending an exploding frog to threaten me was a pretty slick move, though.

i hate it when games have a limited party size and you cant hotswap in fights, feels like half the party are useless bystanders

What didn't you like about magic? The charge times, friendly fire or faith dependency?
If you use Samurais their Draw Out skills are instant and (I think) ignore faith.
If you use Summons they don't have friendly fire (they're slow though...) and the Time Mage's Short charge skill lets you use shorter chanting times.

And then there's Suikoden with its 70+ playable characters.
I mean, you have a six people party but it's still impossible to keep everyone at the same level.

Useless in PQ and P3

Attached: 1442188565115.png (497x785, 277K)

>P3
I wanted to use both Junpei and Korodog in my party but it wouldn't make sense since they're both fire users. I always have to bench one of them and it's pretty depressing.

>missing out on free rng overlimit

No she is fucking awful and stays awful. Just a garbage party member ruining what was almost a perfect cast. Gameplay wise Shes not even fun to play the retard devs didnt even playtest her to make sure her kit works, half the shit in the game refuses to stay in the air so you cant chain your break souls

She's great in both games, are you retarded?

>forced to use benched party member because of plot
>game doesn't auto-level benched members
>have to waste time grinding the benched character so he/she doesn't die instantly

Attached: NOTSUREIF.jpg (800x450, 40K)

>Shitty physical user with no magic coverage
>Great
Lol

A combination of charge time, my own poor planning resulting in my mage getting throttled while charging because I'd try to be preemptive instead of taking advantage of a more reactionary position and the fact I didn't catch onto being able to target a unit or tile and then retreating while still landing that spell well out of his current range. I have no idea where I got it in my head that a spell would only land if it was within the casting range on trigger. To further compound my stupidity, my mage was not only an astrological horrible match to Ramza and two others I frequently used from the beginning, he also had 45 faith. By the time I had the tools to fix all of that (Swiftness, Orator to raise faith or hell, Beowulf to just temporarily apply max faith) I had other units (Alicia was a perfect match to my Ramza and a solid one to the two generics making her my designated support mage) and took a liking to physical units in general so offensive magic just took a backseat to how I put together my band of misfits.

Were I a smart man, I'd have just recruited a new unit early on who could sling some spells instead of letting Gembert spoil my early exposure to an allied spell-slinger.

Judith is unfortunately the most fun character to play due to her ridiculous air-game.
But, there is almost no reason to use her ever, since Rita exists and completely destroys Judith's potential to combo single targets with field-covering magic.
I co-op'd Vesperia some 10 years ago and everytime my friend played Rita and popped an OL to spam Negative Gate or Tidal Wave or something, I had to just kinda sit there and do nothing, because attacks won't do shit on downed enemies.

In q she's one of the best characters in the game since physical attacks are so much better than magic.
I never finished 3 but a character that has -kaja spells can never be bad in persona.
