The basic idea of the Turtles in feudal Japan isn't bad in and of itself, it was done a few times in both the comics and even the 80's cartoon. That's what makes the movie so fucking garbage, that they could have done something really cool to see in live action but pissed it away severely.

There are some bad spots, yes, but Nick TMNT was pretty solid overall, and all of the nods and homages to practically every single other Turtles media throughout it was incredible.
