Is it me or is this game actually really good? I started playing it a few days ago and I'm having so much fun. It kinda reminds me of the first AC (which is still my favorite). I thought the series was dead until this one.

Origins was better. Holy shit the copy pasta in Odyssey got unbearable. At least some of the tombs in origins were fairly unique and interesting.

Nah, they saved the series with Origins. Play that too if you like Odyssey.

>not enough rooftops
All kidding aside I really hate openworld games that are regioned locked (why the fuck are wolves on one island tougher than another). Also the grind is pretty real. That being said it looks amazing, the boring current timelne shit is kept to a min, and rpg aspects are pretty good.

I stopped playing at AC: Liberation. So I think I missed Origins and probably the one before that. But then this one got really good reviews so I thought why not give it a try.

The one before Origins is the same as the others, sucks. Origins they really changed things around.

I didn’t think the grind was that bad but I’ve never been the type that rushes through the main story. My main problem with the game is that the open world is probably twice the size that it needs to be. A lot of the game is you running from point a to paint b.

it's literally you

You know you can fast travel right?

the story is shit, quests are all shit and a chore combat also shit the world isn't interesting at all it's a grotesque bloated piece of shit that has zero soul.

I think the world is really pretty actually. Lots of nature and trees and mountains. I definitely prefer that to climbing rooftops.

Taking a break after finishing Brotherhood. Fuck whoever decided to make the flying machine mission. That shit was frustrating to get 100% sync rate.
I’ve played (and finished 100%) 1, 2, and Brotherhood. Are there any more missions that are as annoying as that particular mission? It’s not that it was hard, but tedious to get through the mission only to get hit by a stray arrow at the end of it, forcing you to redo the whole damn thing.

for me, it's kassandra

Attached: kass.jpg (879x1023, 138K)

yes it's fun to look at for maybe like 2 hours. Origins was exactly the same it was pretty and actually had better gameplay than this and actually had shields and I could only stand to play it until after Alexandria and that's only because i'm an ancient history nerd so they cucked me twice with these games when the last AC game I played was Black Flag I could only play this until the first region battle then I never touched it again.

Too bad it's shit and it lacks the most redeeming factor of Origins, the Messenger

Attached: 7i3iuoqe.jpg (829x531, 107K)

I, too, prefer my women to have pecs instead of breasts

And note that I'm playing on low graphics and I still think the world looks great. I wish I could run it higher but it's very poorly optimized, that's one thing I really hate about it.

I just really like this open world outdoors feel it's probably THE best thing about the game. It's why I liked AC3 while everybody else hated it.

it's pretty good. combat gets ultra tedious because your attacks do no damage

the game is beautiful and has a lot to look at appreciate and enjoy

>AC creed
Garbage, always was always will be. No amount of shilling on Yea Forums will ever get me to spend money for a Ubisoft game ever again

thanks, the door is right there

The voice actress is actually mega cute. Too bad she sounds infected with the feminist virus.

No wonder you like that shit if the repetitive thing that AC1 was is your favorite in the franchise.

I kinda like that the combat feels challenging and you actually have to plan your attack and use stealth. That whole "unstoppable killing machine" in previous games was not assassin like at all.

Wow I've seen butt-chins before, but never a butt-nose

incel

I bet I get more tit than you, faggot

Only games who render horse pussy instead of cock

>feels challenging

when the fuck does it ever feel challenging? does the bamham generation think bamham combat is ever hard?

the combat feels like garbage because its bamham comba where it takes literally 200 hits to kill enemies

It has the best designed maps/missions. You needed to calculate your approach and escape. Also it has the best setting (you were ACTUALLY an assassin). The story was really good and quite unique at the time too.

In 1 it didn't matter how you approached any situation, you ended up fighting and/or running away in every mission, you had to follow the same steps in every mission too. The story was pretty eh for me, but that's kind of subjective.

>because its bamham comba where it takes literally 200 hits to kill enemies
I wouldn't call it challenging, but you're not right either. I'm playing an assassin build and I can one shot elites on hard. In fact I would call it too easy. +30% armor penetration, +25% damage to elite/bosses, +100% damage, +50% assassination ability damage and the chance to deal assassination damage on hit. Hero Strike and auto attacks destroy anything.

>build

you grinded items for hours to get to that point, that speaks to the game design regarding items, not the actual game design regarding combat

at the point i am in the game, without having grinded for items ever, just using generic stuff of my level, individual enemies 1-2 levels above me take 2-3 minutes to kill. its ungodly tiresome

yes op, it is good. Funny I'm playing it right now after not having played it for months. The graphics engine is incredible and the combat is decently fun, story is meh tho. Also exploring the world is very nice

Don't worry OP, the enjoyment will die fast.

I haven't played one since Ass Creed 4 and I am having a blast with it. I enjoy the open world collect-a-thon.

What do you mean, "grinded"? They're 100% drops from specific locations and cultists. You just got to the location, loot the chest and you're done. There's no grind lol.

Ubisoft is s such a fucking dissapointment. Imagine the premise of being a mercenary in an open world setting of ancient greece/egypt you get to travel the country doing rpg type quests etc and the open world is there the setting and attention to detail is there but they manage to make it shitty and unplayable in every other sense with their shit gameplay their shitty Assasins creed plotline the shitty quests and side missions it's like someone was making a work of art liek the sistine chapel they painstakingly went through the layout took accurate measurements hired the best architects and masons and when it came to the frescoes they got the best painters the best paints but had all the frescoes depict pigs being fucked with a giant dragon dildo

Holy fucking shit you nailed it.
That's exactly it I couldn't put it into words, Its like a perfect game but super offensive at the same time.

>Skyrim +
>Souls +
>Ass Creed Odyssey/Origins

100% erect dong

I thought it and Origins were pretty solid. I pirated and then bought on sale. The only real criticism I'd level at it is I hate the bits that are still asscreed. They should hang it up and put their work into fleshing out these settings more.

I also found New Dawn a lot of fun, at least a significant step in the right direction. I never would have thought Ubisoft would be the ones to stop shitting the bed first, as Bethesda and bioware continue to screw the pooch while reeeing at fans. It's not much, but damn is it nice to see some tiny semblance of hope in this apocalyptic wasteland that is video games in 2019.

Attached: 1546750627146.jpg (700x933, 257K)

Origins was better

>tedious combat

wat. What build did you run? I did a simple poison assassin/archer and make quick work of anything within 5 lvls above, one shot'ing anything undetected.

Isn't this game extremely grindy, forcing you to do lame missions and challenges just to unlock the main quests?

Never played this one, but didn't like it in Origins.

i dont go for undetected, its not fun

using knives, i think knives just additionally do zero damage is the problem

you notice how this op is literally nothing but a massive vaguity written in order to try and subconsciously coax you into sharing an opinion?

you notice how it's not parsed like it's written by a real person, but rather just an independent, pre-formed thought?

oh no, i'm being coerced to share my opinion in a place where i come specifically to share my opinion

i thought this game was pretty good and i'd like to see the team take 2 years to make AC: Legion which I would then also buy.

What are you implying, user?
Just curious btw

It's almost like Yea Forums was made to share opinions and not just repeating dead memes ad nauseam

>i thought this game was pretty good and i'd like to see the team take 2 years to make AC: Legion which I would then also buy.
I'm more curious on how they'll handle with AC Japan. They're very aware of the fan desire and jokingly addressed it in their Ask a Spartan video.

>If you have a positive opinion about a game i dont like you must be a shill
Fuckers like you are the reason this board is such trash. Please do us all a favor and blow your tiny brain out.

There's no point of AC Japan with the current RPG like gameplay

>I'm more curious on how they'll handle with AC Japan.

it actually will not ever happen. they'll stick to western settings mostly. you will get one in ancient china though.

I never ran into issues but I also usually do some side quests whenever I find new towns

>muh corporate shills

kys

Origins was better as an AC game but Odyssey was more enjoyable in a lot of ways, it just wasn't really about assassins.

You have to be extremely bad at fucking ubisoft game to grind

Your own doesn't count

I had a blast with it. The evil route was so satisfying.

AC Japan/Asia is the fucking plebbiest thing to ask for

>it just wasn't really about assassins.

i dont think there is a single person on earth who cares

they need to shed the ties to the original storyline somehow and move on using the same name

We already had one in Ancient China.

it is grindy it's designed to wear you out with their shitty grind and make you buy the timesaver that's what it's desgined to do

I thought Origins was the first one? wtf?!

2d sidescroller doesn't fucking count

If you're extremely bad at it just the casuls who ubisoft aimed at. I played it for 30 hours and I've never grind, as long as you do sidequests

>I've never grind, as long as you do sidequests

what do you think side quests are user

the propensity of people on this board to abandon all logic and discourse in order to feel safe insulting other people is just sad...it's sad how it never changes or gets any better

i dunno why i would expect it to i guess

> you can spend time to play my shittily made sidequests OR spend the ten dollars and get on with your life

Assassin's Creed 1-Origins:
>HOW DID THIS GAME BECOME SO POPULAR? WHY IS THIS STORY-DRIVEN, SCIENCE FICTION SERIES WITH A HEAVY EMPHASIS ON HISTORY AND FICTIONALIZED LORE AND PARKOUR SO FUCKING POPULAR? I DON'T UNDERSTAAAAAND, HOW MANY OF THESE STUPID, REPETITIVE GAMES ARE THEY GOING TO CHURN OUT?
Assassin's Creed Odyssey:
>wow, an AC developed by the C team, with heavy notes of SJW undertones, history revisionism, by the numbers combat, checklist-esque quest system that gets so bloated by the time you reach level 20 that you're drowning a sea of sidequests, terrible fetch quests, terribly written characters and caricatures of historical figures, dumb game design that was obivously inspired by a board room full of suits (Shadow of War style bounty system, window dressing "romances"), a new and terribly obnoxious Mary Sue protagonist that somehow replaced Desmond. Yeah, I think I finally get why AC is so good now. What a great game!

I hope you, and everyone like you die a horrible painful death and then burn in the 13th layer of hell for all eternity for having such irredeemably shit taste.

Attached: 1436364772181.jpg (800x1064, 134K)

> Don't like the same Video Games as I? Go die

If this isn't autism I don't know what.

>playing contents is grinding
Let me guess, you also like how Skyrim lets you finish the main quests on level 1? The game has no paywall where you need to extreme grind like fighting bears continuously to continue. The pace is okay if you naturally if you explore and do sidequests. The fucking game is called Odyssey.

ubisoft games could be good if they were about 1/4 of the size and actually had some focus and handcrafted content. they should take a page from rdr2 open world design

The first Ass Creed was the only good Ass Creed because of it's story and novelty, it was really focused on actually behaving like an assassin, and there was a great deal of moral ambiguity to the conflict - all of the marks generally had legitimate reasons for what they did, justifying their crimes.

Totally agree it's been complete shit since, though. Also man am I salty they wasted something as amazing as the French Revolution on their worst, buggiest game.

but odyssey is better than all the other games combined?... soo.....

cry more ching chong faggot.

This is the equivalent to becoming a Front Mission fan with Evolved, and thinking all the Front Missions before it were shit

Attached: 1480717383535.gif (500x228, 1.95M)

>comparing Skyrim to this shirt
the quests and exploration in this is much worse than fucking Skyrim was. Every single quest in this is a variation of fetching some shit, or going somwhere to murder someone, or going to a fort to murder/burn/take some shit and you jsut want this shit to move further along to unlock the next piece of shit territory to progress the storyline so you could finally get over with it and finish this piece of shit

>N-NOOOOO!!! THEY DON'T LIKE MY SERIES THE RIGHT WAY!!!!!! THEY LIKE THE GAMES WRONG OR IN THE WRONG ORDER

Don't you have to shine your naruto headband?

As if the fucking Assassin's creed series really had much of any value historically? rofl

>Let me guess, you also like how Skyrim lets you finish the main quests on level 1?

yeah, who wouldn't like that? You probably also have the exp/drachmae boost item, don't you

I want an Aztec or Mayan AC.

>using knives
>not using stealth
you are weird

>>comparing Skyrim to this shirt
>the quests and exploration in this is much worse than fucking Skyrim was. Every single quest in this is a variation of fetching some shit, or going somwhere to murder someone, or going to a fort to murder/burn/take some shit
Kek you just described Skyrim with its Draugr caves. Next thing you know, you're defending Skyrim unironically.
>actually defending the cancer they introduced since Oblivion
No wonder this board is gone to shitter. I can't even defend the level scaling on Origins/Odyssey and yet you do.

Attached: jeffries.jpg (760x661, 84K)

You have to go back. Probably to the place that actually enjoys history revisionism and feminized writing. Hmm, I wonder what place that could be. It starts with an R I think.

>sneak around slowly and hit enemies in a way that they can't engage or attack you back in any way
>this is satisfying

i have never, ever, ever, ever, ever understood this concept. I do not play video games to do stealth. Ever. It's like tuning in to watch a football game where one team stands still and lets the other team score on them

At least in Skyrim you could self insert as some thundercat while ploughing NPCs in copious amounts of sex mods. Can't say the same for Odyssey, whose quests actually do feel worse and more repetitive than Skyrim's, as odd as that sounds.

I know its cliche to say at this point, but goddamn I want feudal japan. I'm not even a turboweeb, I just find the era fascinating. Second pick would probably be Mesopotamian, broing it up with gilgamesh, sargon, asherbanipal, and hammurabi just seems dope.

Attached: 53d.jpg (500x375, 62K)

I will unironically defend skyrim over this shit. Skyrim has real replay value you can mod in your customizable castle and be the lord of your waifu harem and slave plantation and then occasionally go out of your holdings and take the waifus on a stroll of questing and adventre in the nearby abandoned dwarven ruins

>he still cares about the modern day plot
why are you doing this to yourself?

>b-buh muh mods
And what's that had to do with grinding? Speak for yourself casual

Ubisoft missed their window, and they may regret it if Ghosts of Tsushima makes mad dosh at the Game Box Office

>broing it up with gilgamesh, sargon, asherbanipal, and hammurabi just seems dope.
absolutely none of those people were alive at the same time or in the same region

The fun is in going undetected. It's like watching football where one team acts as sentries and guards and the other team has to sneak around undetected, losing points when they're spotted.

>Finally got an AC: China game with a cool aesthetic
>It's a fucking side scroller
FUCK YOU
U
C
K
Y
O
U

Don't kid yourself, you never cared about the modern story to begin with. Only now that there's been a hundred games, and Desmond is now dead after a terrible batch of terribly written segments do you finally become Captain Hindsight and say "See, the series is much better now without the focus on modern day. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to do more fetch quests for every single NPC on the map."

does it? isn't the messenger the isu girl you hear in the atlantis vault (where pytagoras is)?
you go to the corridors by the side and interact with some panels she talks on running interference on first transmission that is, if not outright said, heavily implied to be those messages on origins

they'll do another ancient mediterranean one but them they'll have to change the setting i think
if they intend on keeping the formula (MC a mercenary with ample sea to explore and command a ship) any of the more war torn periods of china or japan might work
in the present layla has a former yakuza jap on her crew if that matters

Anyone?

If you take all the RPG nonsense out, it might have been.
