Platinum and BW2 made it obsolete.

A lot of improvements over gen 1. I can't really answer though cause I only played it well after playing gen 4

That's not a 404'd thread.

Explain.

I see so much love for Gen 5, particularly BW2. Why is that? Mind you, I played and owned both BW1 & 2, and I beat them (as in, beat the E4), but I didn't spend a ton of time on them as I was playing other vidya.

Gen 5 has arguably the best post game content in the series after Gen 2. That's why, a bunch of places to explore, side missions to do and the PWT that includes every single past gym leader to fight

Gen 7 might have been linear as all hell and still have an absolutely garbage post game.
But it had the most soulful cast of characters and interactions with the story.

>best post game content
>a bunch of places to explore, side missions to do and the PWT that includes every single past gym leader to fight

Wow, that sounds amazing. Kinda upset that I didn't get to experience that, honestly.

I agree. I actually really liked the characters. They hit the mark with the whole "islanders" theme.

You're not even mentioning the White Forest/Black City, that part was insane.

I wish the URS got more screentime.

X and Y are the shittiest games in the franchise. Convince me otherwise.

Seems to be from /vp/

sun and moon exist

I won't deny that Sun and Moon are generally shit, but X and Y is shittier. How do you see X and Y as better than SuMo?

I don't know what's with me but I just can't get into BW2 at all. I've played B/W a decent amount and I'm not huge on it but I was able to see it through to the end at least once. I've started no less than 4 or 5 runs of BW2 from the vanilla game to randomizers to nuzlockes and I just can't get into it. I always lose interest around the 4th-5th gym. The music is clowny garbage and every city/area leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The rival is shit, and the token team rocket is the worst in the series. The only thing I like about it is the females are top tier.

PSS. Fuck the Rotom Dex.

SOUL

ORAS exist. They only had to adapt R/S/E and maybe improve it a but but they fucked it up and shat out this abomination.

>404'd

fucking hell

It's been far too long since I've played either to really explain, but after X&Y I was still willing to give the series another shot. S&M disgusted me to the point that I'm not even interested in whatever garbage they're cooking up now.

ORAS

ORAS is the second worse set of games in the entire franchise imo. It is only saved because it is Hoenn, and because of characters like Steven.

Oh I feel you there, I hate how the Rotom Dex won't shut the fuck up, and it is fucking retarded that there wasn't a National Dex. Though I still feel like there were enough decent features and fresh ideas to keep the game above X and Y. (Regional variants of older Pokemon and the move away from gym badges was neat).

>the token team rocket is the worst in the series
The fuck? There was actual depth in Team Plasma and multiple motivations between major characters within it. Some legitimately cared about Pokemon and thought they were really doing a good thing. Others, like Ghetsis, were using that as a front, and were waiting until they had the power to exert their control. There is no fucking way they are worse than something like Team Flare from X and Y. Who's entire motivation was self obsession and the need to save the world by committing fucking genocide.

Attached: 1539059167452.jpg (431x473, 54K)

>The rival is shit, and the token team rocket is the worst in the series.
The rival was fine, but that last part, no Plasma was infinitely better than what we got in Gen 2 with the reformed Team Rocket, that shit was weak.

I always thought that the reformed Team Rocket was meant to seem weak and pathetic, because they were clinging on to something that was clearly over.

HGSS did a better job with the reformed Team Rocket, though it was still really fucking weak. Plus, the Celebi event that cut a bit of it out was lame as fuck too. It would have been more impactful if you could have experienced just how close the revival of Team Rocket was without having to have a fucking mythical Pokemon that is impossible to obtain legitimately anymore.

I'd say that I enjoyed them more, but they have zero replay value. Don't really care about the online much, I only like trading and stopped liking negotiation stuff when they removed random matching of it after BW2. XY was just an incredibly forgettable game. The things it did well were mostly done better in ORAS, the things it did poorly were mostly present during the story part. Also the designs felt less strong, especially as a bugfag coming off the high of Gen 5. I know there's tons of popular ones in there like Hawlucha or Tyrantrum but it felt like Mega evos overshadowed them too much, and I dislike how temporary mega evos are. Fairy felt like they kind of squandered it on too many "safe" designs that could be easily identified as "fairy" in 6.

Fucking pottery.

Ichinose is a fantastic composer but is an absolute hack arranger. I have no idea what the fuck his damage is or why he has to make every arrangement as complex as possible.

Damn right. So many amazing girls in every gen, and 7 still manages to claim two of the three top spots for me. Not to mention an especially based professor and the chuuni.

Most of all, pic related.

Gameplay:

Graphics:
Why?
Overall value:
Johto and Hoenn are incomparable in many aspects due to Johto being mainly for the original Game Boy line of the Pokemon games, Hoenn was a soft reboot targeted for a newer audience with intentions to include features to bring back veteran players.

There's a recurring theme in gen II about moving on from the past and how things can never stay the same forever. I think there's a good reason that a lot of actual genwunners complain about it, it directly challenges their outlook on the original games.

This. The HGSS version is the definition of an over-produced song. The original was beautiful in its simplicity, the remake completely missed that.

I like HGSS's soundtrack overall but being as complex as possible is a good criticism for some of the remixes

Like Route 29 is one I like mostly, it's hard to put into words but it feels like it tries too hard to be nostalgic

It does remind me of when JOHTOOOOOO was a thing before geewun fauxstalgia took control, which is nifty.

that slowpoke is brimming with soul

Maybe I just didn't get far enough into the game to see them get good then. All I saw of them is they were literal old men that just paraded around around looking ominous. I never even got to battle any of them other than the grunts that looked like shit.

Cianwood in the remakes is the orignal one

Attached: cc26213a48934bcd7424280e779099cb.gif (500x500, 140K)

It uses a lot of frills and the like to cast a whimsical sensation, but falls flat because, well, it's over-using them. Also instruments typically associated with childhood, like a xylophone and clarinets. You're spot on in saying it sounds like it's trying to hard to sound nostalgic.

Oh yeah, I was in your boat as well. The early game of Black and White are a bit of a slog, and it takes a while for things to get going, but it is well worth it when you get into B2W2. Seeing the region change was great, and the memory link showing some extra backstory from the first game was awesome as well. The entire region was really fleshed out and the motivations of Team Plasma and the people within it were actually given enough room for nuance and depth. Something that hasn't been seen much in newer Pokemon games.

I agree with this list except I don't really care for Virizion
Genesect is great. Wish it didn't take so long to get a bug legendary. Arceus-Bug doesn't count.

The only thing I liked about ORAS was how cringy wally's battle at the end of victory road was. Like it actually made me laugh because of how bad it was.

I used to like going to space and fighting Deoxy but the more I thought about it the more I decided it wasn't worth doing the autism episode and putting up with that retard to see it.

>Wish it didn't take so long to get a bug legendary.
Arceus can be bug type. So there was a legendary bug available since Gen 4.

>tfw gamefreak fell for le trumpets meme and any RSE track that relied on the trumpets sound just has nothing and sounds really flat in the remakes

ORAS's sound track just sounds really weak compared to the originals in general honestly. The new E4 theme is a fucking travesty.

i still can't believe they removed the clapping from the e4 theme
tragic

if you're only gonna play one pokemon game then heartgold/soulsilver is probably your best bet

Started a new game on crystal today:) never actually beat any of them from this gen, comfy so far. Rollin a totodile

The Deoxys battle is the way mythical Pokemon should be introduced in these games, and it is a fucking shame how these Pokemon are introduced in newer games where they are just handed to you from some fucking delivery man. Actually showing the origins of Deoxys and really making battling it as alien as possible by fighting it in fucking space made the overall Pokemon memorable.

What the fuck can you say about Pokemon like Zeraora or Magearna? You don't get to see their power like you did with Deoxys, or get how they fit into the world with Pokemon like Darkrai who had proper events attached to them. Fuck Game Freak for being so god damn lazy, I shouldn't have to see external media like the manga or anime in order to make your "mythical" Pokemon actually seem like they are anything more than dex fillers.

They really butchered it. Remakes outside of HG/SS have been lacking in this department too in my opinion. Which is dumb because when they do their own thing (Zinnias theme for example) it sounds really good.

>not youtube.com/watch?v=OKVrafnnu0Y

Attached: 1356502226069.png (840x442, 223K)

Mythicals always existed for IRL events that never come to your country, the only differences now is that they got lazy.

I'm fine with their exclusivity nowadays since you can trade all around the world. Something you couldn't do in Gen III games. It frustrated me that I couldn't get Deoxys in Gen III because no events were nearby to distribute the pass for it. It's still really fucking lame that new mythical Pokemon don't get any ingame attention, and expect the player to go out to find out how these Pokemon live up to the "mythical" title.

>>/v[/ is a containment board for the autistic manchildren that still play the pokemon games

i was just listening to that route theme, makes me extremely nostalgic. i have so many memories attached to the first three gens. gen 1 makes me think of playing through pokemon blue with my mom before i even knew how to read, accidentally erasing the file and playing through the whole thing again on a family roadtrip, stopping every once in a while to get out and see some weird sight on the road. gen 2 makes me think of going down to texas to see my grandparents and hanging out with my cousin who had an action replay which was the coolest shit in the world. he also showed me missingno in gen 1 which blew my mind. gen 3 specifically makes me think of being in the living room of my old house on summer break at like 9 AM on a hot and sunny day, laying on the couch right next to the air conditioner with advanced generation on the TV. why did it all have to go so wrong, bros?

I really liked the Victory Road theme in ORAS.

I decided to replay Heartgold and I forgot how fucking addicting voltorb flip was. It's a really fun balance of strategy and luck, and if you can reach the later levels you get shittons of coins way faster than you'd ever get from slot machines.

What I'm saying is Voltorb flip is the EU's only positive contribution to the world at large

This. Mew was a missing link stumbled upon by the scientists in Kanto. Which led to the Mewtwo experiments that destroyed the Cinnabar Mansion. Mew is intrinsically linked to Kanto's history. Celebi is a time traveling sprite that returns to Ilex Forest every once in a while (is Dialga just cool with that?) The people of Johto revere it and made a shrine to it. Celebi is a part of Johto's history.

What the fuck does Marshadow have to do with Alola? The pokedex only says it slinks in the shadows. The only info we have on Zeraora is that it has claws and it rips stuff to shreds. What the fuck does that have to do with anything?

That's because they are barely mythical anymore. Pokémon GO has already introduced Shiny Meltan (and consequently Shiny Melmetal) barely 3 (count 'em—three!) fucking months after Meltan was introduced. Pokémon is a soulless husk feeding off retards with blind brand loyalty.

Voltorb Flip is incredible, I wish the flash versions were as good as the real one.

I love both of those tracks. I remember when I first went to face Steven. I was going over my friend's house and my dad was going to drive me there. I was playing it on my White GBA, and then my dad said for us to go. I didn't shut the game off the entire way to my friend's house. My dad just driving me meanwhile I'm playan GBA in the passenger seat, about to beat the game. Good little memory there. R/S/E means a lot more to me then G/S/C does, even though G/S/C meant a lot to me.

Attached: Lego Racers 2-190113-010841.png (1620x1080, 705K)

I always get teary-eyed when I think of the moment my parents drove me to the shopping plaza. My dad drove us and I remember my mom and I walked into Toys R Us. Growing up very poor, walking in there was like heaven to me as a child. All these amazing, cool toys and video games that I unfortunately couldn't afford. But I was happy. We go down the aisle and my mom tells me to select a Game Boy Color. I choose Lime Green. And she also said I needed a game so I got Pokemon Gold. So I pulled the little paper from the plastic sleeve (remember that?) and brought it over to the Redemption center. I was so happy that night. My parents working so hard to buy me that. Will always cherish that moment. Anyways, I remember when I had to save my game. It asked me the "Saving will overwrite your existing save file question?", and I was like, "uhh... no, I don't want to lose my progress!". Ha. I had to ask my friend at school the next day what I had to do.

Thanks for sharing your story, user.

Gen 2 Team Rocket.

Flare, Rainbow Rocket, and Gen 2 Rocket are the worst.

Only redeeming part of Rainbow Rocket was the interactions with previous generation villains who come from worlds where they succeeded in their ambitions.

CUTE & SOUL

Attached: cute.gif (394x238, 1.92M)

Magma and Aqua are really retarded in RS/ORAS but work better in emerald where they're reworked to be rivals to each other and you being caught in the conflict. Goals still dumb but they're a lot of fun that way.

Reminder that this is the objective proof.

Attached: Irrefutable.png (1032x537, 865K)

All of X & Y was forgettable, minus the Eiffel Tower city. So yeah, Team Flare, and Team Skull was pretty lame. Though, they fit the role of being a little mini-gang around Alola pretty well. Kinda goofy, too. Didn't like their meme movements though.

Rainbow Rocket as an "organization" was dumb but I enjoyed it in the game. One of the few times GF's kanto spree remembered other gens existed.

What could Gen 8 do that would redeem the franchise in your eyes?

Why do people meme that the battle frontier is actually good. It's fun for awhile but the farther you get its mostly just bullshit with max EV perfect moveset shit and it doesn't even feel that rewarding to win since you get practically nothing from it.

I see what you did there

>doesn't even feel that rewarding to win since you get practically nothing from it.
this was my biggest gripe with it (or any battle facility that wasn't BW2's tower/treehollow)

Roster rebalance so the majority of monsters don't suck the dick.

Massive amount of available pokemon available during the main story/early on.

No "3rd version" bullshit.

GOOD FUCKING POST GAME.

That's literally it. Give me the fucking Battle Frontier from Emerald, please. Throw in the Pokemon World Tournament as well. Just give me something to do afterwards. I love the Pokemon games, but find myself being lost on what to do after the main story(ies) end.

Attached: 1549930947462.jpg (225x225, 4K)

Some of the Team Skull grunts had some character. They weren't exactly evil, they were just goofy misfits who weren't good enough for the island challenges that came together to form a team. The interactions were charming too, like that one Team Skull grunt who couldn't do the pose right and was thinking of leaving the team until other members came together to help him out and treat him as a part of the Team Skull family. There aren't any interactions like that with Team Flare. They're just a bunch of assholes who keep talking about their suits and money. The only interaction between members you see in the game is between Flare Admins.

Kick out Masuda

Sun and Moon had really good writing, I will say. Absolutely devoid of content afterwards, however. What a shame.

Remind me what Rocket gen 2 did? I only remember the Slowpoke thing.

That's about it. Rocket was really phoned in in gen 2.

I think they did a few more things with then in Gen4 but I don't remember much except for the Giovanni sidequest that you can't do without an event pokemon that doesn't get distributed in your area.

I saw some little bitch boy talking shit about Gen 2 and its fans in the other thread. I just wanted to tell you to FUCK OFF because there's no other time that made me happier to be a Pokemon fan than around the time Gold and Silver released, and then Crystal was just a perfect continuation of those games not long after. Not only that, but years later HGSS came out and once again blew me away with how great the region could be even with 4th gen content mixed in. I don't give a fuck if it's nostalgia to a similar degree of the Gen 1 fags, I loved Johto and there's nothing you can do about it, sucker.

Literally just Pokemon BotW

It would bring back features that Game Freak keep cutting and readding for no god damn reason. Vs. Seeker, Following Pokemon, Ball Seals, Difficulty options, Battle Frontier, leader rematches, Dex Nav, Triple/Rotation battles, Game Corners.

I want to emphasize Ball Seals, it's such an underrated feature and a neat idea. Customizing a bunch of effects when you send out your Pokemon is just nice. It makes the Pokemon feel more personal.

Rocket was way better in Gen 2. They felt intimidating, taking over an entire city (the biggest city in the region no less) despite being in shambles after they were dismantled in gen 1.

Cutting off the tails of pokemon and selling them on the black market. Utilizing tech to force evolution on shit pokemon to make them good pokemon to up their power level.

And while not canon (or maybe it has some implications from the manga, but not the game), that art of rocket having their way with whitney and her gym always made me feel a sense of fear from gen 2 rockets.

I wish the Vs. Seeker had a feature where the Pokemon of people out there scales to yours, that way, it's challenging.

>good online and reasonable means of getting good Pokemon without save editing, nobody has time for their stupid shit
>lifelike Pokemon that feel unique and important like they did in the Stadium games while they battle
Probably even more than that, and I don't even have my hopes up. With each new generation I get closer and closer to just wanting some kind of massive reboot to tie everything back together into a more coherent experience, but that would be risky and GF knows they aren't in a position where they have to take risks yet.

Can someone explain this soul meme? What does it mean? Where did it come from?

I always want to say that I hate how modern pokemon games always force you to catch box legendaries but I have to remind myself that G1 G2 and Emerald are the only pokemon games that don't do this.

It's fucking annoying, use them in the plot or whatever but catching shouldn't be necessary, or at the very least just let you kill them now and catch them later (I'm pretty sure a handful of pokemon games let you do this but I sure as shit aren't trying it). The worst is when they decide to do legendaries as consecutive battles. Battle Ghetsis, catch Reshiram, fight N is awful. Catch Rayquaza, fight autismo, Catch Deoxys is fucking cancer. It's a wonder why people would even think people don't just hack in those pokemon for comp.

There is something about a more purplish tiny and contrast that has a lot of soul. Modern games tend to look so washed out

what the shit?

Tf is PokeOne? Actual alright MMO?

Damn, that's a great piece of art right there.

Ultra Recon Squad is not an evil team.
A small team of 4 blue skinned alien people who came to ask for help with suppressing Necrozma.

Some Pokemon threads on Yea Forums are better than any discussion on /vp/. This thread and the one prior are examples of this. Plus like said. These threads are faster paced.

I see, thanks, sorry for being dumb, I didn't think it was an outright ban but forgot

Yeah the Ultra Recon Squad aren't inherently evil, but they have no problem working with antagonists like Lusamine if it means they can help accomplish their goals. I could see how they could be argued as an evil faction.

It's fun if you have friends, you can group up and do all the trainer fights together as double or triple fights.
Only has Kanto/Johto, uses 3D Sun/Moon models and doesn't require ROMs like all the others.

>good taste and an appreciation for beautiful art
Not with that shit level scaling and pokemon distribution you don't

>I guess it's still not as bad as re:burst (senran kagura)
always a chuckle and then I cry because Senran Kagura used to be fun and halfway decent

>that last quote
I miss the childhood innocence of thinking gamefreak was a good developer.

Gen 2 had the best pixel art the series has seen + a great OST and a day/night cycle that really enhanced the games charm. It definitely has its issues like a bare bone Kanto and poor level curve but despite its faults it had a lot of heart. Facing red for the first time as a secret final boss was fantastic and my favorite moment from any pokemon game.

I've probably been here longer than you. I forgot that the archives section exists now, and assumed all threads still just 404 afterwards. Simple mistake is all. Don't worry, you don't have to be fearful (omg we r being ivavded by

>after Gen 2
Kanto isn't post game though.

They don't know that Lusamine is an inherently villainous person, and she acts sugary and sweet to people she's trying to exploit or "befriend" like the URS (who serve as the way she gets access to a wormhole without Mohn's UB research). Remember, these are the people who don't even know how to properly battle using Pokemon.
The URS are entirely innocent. They don't even do anything but ask for aid, and when Lusamine breaks off on her own they realize that she's not to be trusted.
On top of that, they barely do anything in the story. They're friendly dimensional tourists.

Sounds neat. Might be worth a try,

Is it just Kanto/Johto region or only Kanto/Johto Pokemon species? If it's the former I'll give it a try, but if Shedinja's not in (since it's a gen 3 Pokemon) then no dice.

>uses 3D Sun/Moon models
I should clarify it only uses them in battles.
Overworld is closer to HGSS (and even has your pokemon follow you like in those games)

Attached: soul-soulless.png (611x252, 166K)

Other gen pokemon are in it but they are usually events or special areas on the map (shedninja is halloween event only)

Attached: 250px-292Shedinja.png (250x250, 61K)

eh maybe next time then

>literally blueish grey humans
How hard could have been to create a unique extra-dimensional species.

based hapufriend

It was always weird to me that "level" was abbreviated as ":L"

pokemon is as much video games as mlp is comics and cartoons

:L

S&M could've been highlights of the series. why'd they have to do it like that

Attached: 1532444384600.png (789x750, 18K)

Another user made a good point on how the 20th Anniversary of Pokemon and the Switch coming out probably impacted S&M development.

>not youtube.com/watch?v=OsW_BCoeQZA

I never noticed this until now
god damn you, user

Not hard at all considering the UBs, but these are intended to be humans, just from a world devoid of all natural light. Hence the visors and the blue skin.

>S&M
what did gamefreak mean by this

They are descendants of humans that were originally taken by Ultra Wormholes and after generations of oppression by Necrozma and lack of light they adapted different features, some of which being their unique eyes and their blueish skin

Attached: u l t r a.jpg (318x318, 29K)

it's kinda funny that in the anime, Team Flare is by far the most imposing one.

Spergs and money
it's the primary audience

I couldn't even play more than an hour of the Gold remake because of the absolute hack job they did on the music
>hmm this sounds pretty good
>but I think it might need a few more midi instruments layered on
>adds 50 layers of shit
>done
FUCK
One day I might demaster these tracks

>all 4 of them have pretty neat designs, even Phyco's amusing facial hair
>barely any screentime
fug

it wouldn't be so bad if they gave you the original music item from the very start

most soulful was that hypno hack that lets you hypnotize the female gym leaders when you win

the remake was a necessity to bring him back to our world

Attached: Crash Bandicoot 2 - Cortex Strikes Back (USA)-181027-161209.png (1920x1080, 181K)

The expectations for me are so average there's no way it'll meet them. At the very least I'd want a really solid post-game as good as Platinum, more Totem Pokemon-like fights, good new Pokemon designs, and challenging battles without much hand holding.

This

Kahili fits in literally any Pokémon gen but feels out of place because she’s a literal who in the Elite 4 when at that point in the game, you are familiar with everybody else

This but unironically. The crash remakes didn't even need to be good (they were though) I just wanted them to do fucking something with the brand after close to 10 years of complete silence.

this is semi-hard to interpret. most of them are obscured.

That's not the only thing that's semihard

Here you go.

Thank you OP for making these threads on the regular, Pokemon Crystal is the first Pokemon game I've ever played and also my favorite one in the series.

Lads, post your favorite tune from GEN 2?

youtube.com/watch?v=IXqmIkCYOSM

Attached: nini.png (809x547, 43K)

it's cliche, but what the fuck else am i supposed to pick?
youtube.com/watch?v=2XjouKSkSeM

thanks :)

>ORAS
While gen6 was the start of a huge decline in quality of the series, ORAS is still better than XY. But as far as remakes go, still flawed and lazy.
ORAS is still the better gen6 game. I have a soft spot for it cause it was nice revisiting Kanto but man, fuck Masuda ans Ohomori. I wish we would get Morimoto back.

Honestly, the game has so many good tracks

youtube.com/watch?v=SOPEn9Mi8WI

I miss getting a special item to go to a new area to catch a mythical. It was so fucking cool and it still made you feel like you earned the catch. Being able to fight Deoxys was honestly my favorite part of ORAS, I just wish sky tower wasn’t gimped and we could save between the deoxys and rayquaza battle

youtube.com/watch?v=a9DJRhRuG3o

Attached: duane.gif (480x320, 719K)

I think that Gen 6 was the worst generation of Pokemon. Gen 7 was shit, but it tried a few new things and introduced fantastic new concepts like regional Alolan variants of Pokemon. Gen 6 followed up Gen 5 by being shallow dogshit. The only major gameplay feature of note was mega evolutions.

youtube.com/watch?v=91qulbGHLxE but unironically

I love a good ear-rapey tune

God I fucking wish I could rebattle the bosses. Captains, kahunas and other strong trainers too. I just want to be able to rebattle strong trainers through out my journey. Is implementing the vs seeker again so hard? We couldn’t even rematch gym leaders in ORAS. Fucks sake gamefreak. Rematching the elite 4 gets boring, especially since I keep getting Hau or Gladion as challengers. The kanto gym, battle buffet and gamefreak duo are a snore too and I’m tired of ultra space and battle tree.

rebalance stat and movepool distribution for all the mons and make more them more viable so it’s not the same fucking teams all across the meta.
Vs seeker - be able to rematch every trainer across your journery, this includes gym leaders, notable trainers, team bosses, admins etc.
Something like the PSS- it was goddamn perfect and easy to use. Fuck the abomination that is the festival plaza.
Decent postgame - something similar to the battle frontier, a challenge area - a dungeon with strong trainers/wild pokemon with a legendary or superboss waiting at the end.
Better trainer customization, skippable cutscenes/tutorial, no handholding, hard/challenge mode.

the ridiculous high demand of the battle frontier is what made me retire from pokemon and I was fucking 12. I really wished I played Crystal when it came out in 2001.

>kanto
meant to say hoen

Do something genuinely new with the series. It's basically been the same shit since gen 3/4 just with a reskin. A lot of the game's systems need polishing like shiny hunting and EV training, and no I'm not talking about the repetitive minigame crap in X/Y. The training and catching systems need a complete revamp.
You have to have some level of genuine autism to enjoy doing the current systems of shiny hunting and EV training.

This. When I rematch a leader or a strong trainer, I want it to be more challenging and a stronger team than the first time we fight. Emerald, Plat, HGSS kinda did this, but teams always capped around 45-60. I’d love to fight trainers with teams well above the 60’s almost pushing 90’s.

>be able to rematch every trainer across your journery, this includes gym leaders, notable trainers, team bosses, admins etc.
I'd like to add onto this, more notable trainers other than Red. He's the only fucking MC to get any spotlight. I want to see Gold/Crystal, Brendan/May, Hilbert/Hilda etc.

I now want to play a ntr__ rpg game in this stlye where you play the cuck___

Attached: 1548087297353.jpg (500x489, 68K)

Rip this thread

genwar thread two blocks down killed it, sorry mate
did you get your 3 battles in the competition for that shiny tapu bulu prize?

These good fucking lord, it would fix the game so much

what does that have to do with pokemon? you just want a old school style ntr rpg?

I know Heart Gold and Soul Silver are often considered to be some of the best remakes ever. However there is just something about the original Gold and Silver that is really magical to me. I remember the first time I played it I thought it was the coolest thing ever. It felt like such a step forward compared to Red and Blue with its day/night and mobile phone and stuff. I remember getting really excited on the days when I could do the bug catching contest.

The originals are great it's mostly just zoomers saying otherwise to discredit opinions that don't align with their own.

Gold/Silver were the biggest step forward in Pokemon full stop. Every successive generation has been a shorter step, and gen 5 was pretty much a sidestep, along with every successive gen. Games are fucking stagnant.

It should have happened since gen 1.

I feel like gen 3 was the biggest step when it comes to the actual battle mechanics since it added stuff like abilities and natures. Although I always found it pretty weird that it didn't have night time even though it had a time system.

Most soulful hack is Clover.
>plenty of attention paid to game mechanics not just a joke mod
>self aware
>still feels grounded in Pokémon and isn't overly edgy as you might expect
>lots of fun original music, original region and 250 Pokémon

speaking of gen 2 I just started to play crystal clear, I was going to earlier but then it shut down and I didn't bother finding it nice so far
