Mabinogi was a pretty awesome MMO that broke the Trinity mold, but it was ruined by Nexon
Ragnarok Online was also great, but it had its fair share of problems as well

I'm playing it, I like it. But KoG will probably ruin it inevitably and the koreans love pay to win memes.
Currently being forced to pvp rank to B and it's like pulling teeth, I can't catch people lag feels real and sometimes i face really good players who fuck me with combos and shitters who spam BLACK HOLE.

Yeah The pve is really lacking it's a shame, I don't know why they haven't got mabs or zones or anything and just made it a boss rush.

Any tips? I've never managed to avoid black hole if a mage feels like spamming it i just take the game as a loss honestly.

My issue with the game is a lot of it's core mechanics are absolutely fucked from a design stand point.

>Need to grind said shit skills in boring PvE missions to actually use them for PvP

You can use a controller yes.

You have two ways to counter it, first is just time a dodge to the end of the spell animation (2 second cast time) second is using a knockback attack or dash attack on the caster to take them out of the animation, sword's leap and half of bow's kit is good for this, black hole does have a 10 second cooldown.

People panick and try to mash dodge while being sucked in, to dodge all you have to do is sit still for press dodge as it about to explode, the vacuum effect doesnt do damage its the final explosion that does and its aoe is pretty small.

Yeah this is bullshit, the affinity system feels so tacked on and random, I've picked the same character ever since i started playing but It seems like the game makes me meet whoever the fuck it wants whenever it wants.
Also I don't understand that dating sim like conversation tree the game wants you to have with them is it random? am i meant to read the korean translated gibberish and pic the right keyword? What the fucking is going on.

Koreans love grinding is 5% when you're on grand chase level but yea the low drop rates are not encouraging.

Gauntletts have fun moves, being able to hold someone hostage in a grab when you know he's out of stamina is fun, shame they're almost useless on the bosses.

I don't think the damage increase in rank is that noticeable honestly, well not for gauntlets at least.

Yeah that's a shame, i don't know why they thought making it a game of musical chairs was a good idea, it really is almost random who wins at the end.

CTF is a weird one, I've had games where it's easy and games where i could not for the life of me catch the person with the flag, or we'd knock them down and they'd just wait out the knockdown with immunity.

And a stat system you couldn't touch until after you used the rebirth i'm pretty sure i never saw the stat window until after i rebirthed.

I guess I just need to git gud and stop panicking, sometimes I do escape if i can tank the gauntlett long range chase move.
I always roll too soon to avoid the explosion.

I just got mine.
I've just been waiting for open beta and cursing the devs since usually if it's not that easy to get into closed beta if you didn't apply early enough.

I just started and I already hate it. Korean autism story, awful optimization, the controls are jank as hell, walking around the plaza area is awful because your character slips and slides all over the place when you try and turn. Oh, and even if you ATTEMPTED to get into the autistic story thats generic as fuck, the subtitles just might be in korean even if you set it to english, and then you get a mix of both korean and english subtitles because the fags who are making this game are incompetent.

After playing some more, all I can say is that its trash. Don't touch this game even if you're curious, its not worth anyones time.

I found a pretty hard boss early on.
The login screen.
Nothing happens when i type an ID and press login.

It's... okay.
I really don't understand some of the balance decisions in this game.
Most games have melee doing more damage than ranged. You have to risk getting within range of the enemy and are rewarded with more damage.
Now in this game, melee does absolutely nothing. It's not good, does no damage, boring combos, etc while ranged is king. Ranged inherently has more damage from the start. You can use ranged and just kite around shooting for big damage without even risking getting hit.
Maybe it gets better later on? Maybe there's something I'm missing? I'm not sure

The way I understand it, melee classes are Breakers and Ranged classes are slayers.
Breakers the most damage a bosses stamina?/Endurance bar and some to hp, which put them into a vulnerable knockdown state when it's deleted
Slayers do the most damage a bosses hp bar and some to endurance.

I think the real problem comes where in pvp, players don't seem to have an endurance bar, or rather it's so small and easy to knock someone into a combo the whole breaker thing loses its niche. A archer can as easily, maybe even more easily tbqh stunlock you and combo you and he's will do more damage to boot. Melee have increased physical def going for them but the same magic def as everyone else so a mage will fuck them if allowed to get casts off.

So far it seems people think the ranged classes shit on the melee classes in pvp, in pve though they serve a purpose. well almost sometimes I've seen a mage just kill a boss with his damage output and not need to worry about stunning it or wearing down the endurance bar.

When i start the game, it goes to a screen with a text box and "ID" and some moonrunes (probably about the id length and characters) i enter an ID and press login and nothing happens.
Is it supposed to just login without that or what?
