7/7 when it was released, aged like shit though

best radio and frustrating game mechanics make it worth a play today

Greatest game of the 21st century so far. it's formula still outsells nu-formals people think are good and ahead of it.

GOAT until Vice City and then San Andreas came around.

>GOAT until Vice City
VC is just the awkward half finished expansion to 3.

It certainly didn't stop that from being what many consider to be the best in the series.

>You will never get to play a cohesive game on the maps of III, VC, and SA all merged together.

Brilliant.

Liberty City Stories is an improvement on it though.

>what is gta underground
A bloated project suffering from scope creep whose devs are too busy working on Midway/Chicago to notice.

Even if everything was working, it's pure sandbox.

I know a place in the Red Light District where we can lay low, but my hands are all messed up, so you better drive, brother.

They already implemented VC and LC along with all the vehicles and content, even the same trails for each city so it would like the original game.

Also the ton of custom content in it is worth it.

I'm having a good time playing it so far, but the first mission you get after leaving Portland is kicking my shit in.
Cruising around to Double Clef FM is magical.

Attached: 1535497398444.png (294x291, 58K)

It's my favourite one, VC and SA were great and had a ton of cool new mechanics, but GTA 3 was properly gritty, the map wasn't too big and you could learn it in a few hours, and had a classical station. Also the factions were akin to the old GTAs and Claude was an uncaring asshole, which you'd need to be to do all that shit to begin with, never married to one faction and focused on taking revenge.
It also helps that it was the first GTA I played after the top down ones, so it's the one that impressed me the most.

>7/7
That's a perfect score.

>It also helps that it was the first GTA I played after the top down ones, so it's the one that impressed me the most.
>when you change the camera in GTA III to top down

Yesterday is gone forever...

Attached: 131328225158.jpg (290x174, 9K)

Oh yeah, that too. That shit was sorely missing from the later ones, it felt like a great throwback to the first two games on the PS1.

I was absolutely shit at GTA 3, but I wanted to see the rest of the map. There was a code that let your car fly for a little bit. I died several times trying to clear the gap in the bridge. When I got there, it was pretty exciting. Still a classic. SA destroys it.

I liked III, but it's still weird how much I liked it more when I changed the default control layout to match the SA control scheme.

Is "Lucy - Forever" the greatest original GTA song? I'm a big fan of Craig Gray's Fade Away too: youtube.com/watch?v=eOI6f83YizA

>STRETCH ARMSTRONG IS NOW IN YOUR WORLD

Attached: 1541383620049.jpg (400x318, 13K)

I played it when I was little and didn't understand English so I didn't do much.
Aged like milk on the middle of the desert though.

youtube.com/watch?v=u1vFZe-PWf8

OP here, I've replayed it recently and it was still good, but I had to install some mods to make it playable.
Agreed!
I prefer Head Radio and Lips 106. Also that mission shouldn't be hard, just go to the roof.
Claude is a fucking badass.
I can't take it no more is my personal favorite song.

Though not the first one I played it is the one I am most nostalgic about.
favorite city as well.

It's mainly getting to the place in time that's giving me trouble mostly. You mean the rooftop in front of the club?

>It's mainly getting to the place in time that's giving me trouble mostly
Just take time to plan the route to the bridge before taking the mission

Yes. And driving to that place should be easy. Good shit tho. What about GAME FM and Scardy Movies then?

Niko > CJ > Tommy > Franklin > Claude > Michael > AIDS tainted indian shit > Trevor

Attached: 26f830ccfedbbdd8.jpg (1000x707, 632K)

Who do you mean by AIDS tainted indian shit?

Claude has nothing on Tommy desu. Tommy was the best protag hands down. Only comparable one was Michael from GTA 5

shit produced by an indian male/female, which has been cummed on by someone with AIDS

youtube.com/watch?v=l7uTUE3UWxs

Oh, k. For a while I thought that was about Louis from EFLC or something.

not a character from the series but the actual product of an afflicted India native

Best GTA game, from when scenery and wandering still took a backseat to police chases and spree killing

Not a bad game but Vice City and San Andreas outdo it in every way

Booting this game up in 2001/2002 Serbia felt surreal. The grit, grey surrounding, first time playing a game where you're the criminal. Blasting DnB while driving a Sentinel, visceral shooting, gibs system, total freedom of movement/action. Huge step in technology back then. Once in a lifetime experience. An actual feeling of nostalgia - sadness that you will never get that experience ever again.

SA was overrated. My favorite are 3 and VC.

For me it was Poland in 2004. My first PC with Grand Theft Auto installed and no internet connection till 2007... That was a time when I just started to learn how to use computer, install stuff and shit. Once in a lifetime experience indeed. Back then I was a kid so I can say that this game goes with me through life.

Still creeps me out to this day.

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 68K)

It was much more friendly in LSS

Attached: latest[1].jpg (480x272, 21K)

Luis was actually a good character.
Only thing that annoys me about GTA is that every single main character has comic reliefs that always try to bring him down.
Like CJ and Sweet, or Luis and his two friends (one that was retarded), or Niko and his cousin, or Johnny and Ashley, or Franklin and Lamar.

Rockstar should get some new fucking writers.

"Come to daddy hahaha" - this shit creepes me out more.
youtube.com/watch?v=xWPTfw5gOZg

Attached: daddy.jpg (1280x720, 141K)

And the PS2 version.

At least that's meant to be terrifying.

Attached: GTA-pic-7[1].jpg (686x400, 57K)

Yeah, Sweet and Lamar were so fucking annoying, like:
>leave this shit man, we're gansta yo bang bang who cares about anything else
but it actually tells us how things goes in those environments so maybe they had a point here.
>Niko's cousin aka Roman
He was just retarded.

GTA Series Videos is maximum youtube Kino.

I loved the city as a character.
it's vibe felt more genuine, more as something on it's own then the sequels that were imitations of movies and stereotypes from other eras.
and 2002 me spend time making his own story with a different home and my own missions to drive everywhere.
I lived overlooking the park in Portland in the apartments

Attached: always portland.jpg (1280x740, 187K)

the biggest leap in gaming, whose design and systems are rarely matched. 10+ years later.

one the last games from the era when games journalists were passionate and knowledgeable about games. and therefore publishers, demanded developers, produced quality and innovation to impress journalists. as opposed to the toxic relationship between journalists and publishers we have today. where the developer is a third wheel.

GTA 3 and Vice city felt more arcadey, the maps were designed to be used as a game first and realistic second, there are so many more jumps in the 2 compared to any ofthe later games and theere was a flow ofrunning from the cops and doing an epic jump to get away

I wish taxi missions had more destinations

Brilliant channel, isn't it.

I made my own missions too. There was a GTA fansite years ago that had loads of invented missions, but it died.

>Game tells me that my target will be getting into a taxi, and I should follow him.
>I pull up in my own taxi and let the target climb in.
>The game lets me do it.
I was hooked at that moment, but I kinda wish there were a lot more opportunities for that kind of shenanigan.

youtube.com/watch?v=Hd99ylizMm0

IN THE NAVY

Most revolutionary game.
Going from gta 2 to gta 3 was the biggest technological jump in video game history

This.
Tfw the first time I played LCS and VCS was in 2016 when I found my old ass PS2 and installed some mods on my memory card. That was totally worth it :3
There is also one thing about the whole GTA series that I love. They parody reality by references to culture and stuff from era they're creating.

Attached: gta3 2018-05-01 17-48-02-02.png (1920x1080, 1.62M)

fucking hell that sounds shite

Based Greenalink.

Why does artwork Misty look nothing like in game Misty?

Bingo. It was fucking groundbreaking at the time, I put so many hours into it. Played it recently though, and it's pretty poor. Even VC is awkward to play, just because it's all so cumbersome.

>tfw no new GTA game in nearly 6 years
I'm so fucking bored of GTA V and Rockstar's shitty excuse for multiplayer they forced on it and RDR2, I wish they still made new installments every couple years like they did with the III-era games.

Attached: gta seagull.gif (480x270, 3.73M)

>set self on fire

toggle targetting with the shotgun for unlimited fire rate was also a good time.

I ended up finding all the radio stations on Youtube a little while back, nostalgia out the ass.

>F-F-FLASHBACK FM
>WHERE EVERY NIGHT IS A DANCE PARTY
>*Scarface soundtrack starts up*

Attached: Das it Mayne.png (414x499, 454K)

I've seen videos of GTA Online and am genuinely appalled at what it's become at times.

All that TrackMania style shit makes me feel embarrassed just watching it.

PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT

Attached: flashback.jpg (300x168, 10K)

Agreed, been watching their stuff for over a decade now and they're still the best LP channel out there.

Also their collection videos are really comfy:

youtube.com/watch?v=BuYZqC7wUSs

GTAO could've been good, but they realised pretty quick that they can churn out shite with minimum effort and make a killing for it. They had no need to make actual content when they could just spit out another overpriced supercar and watch people pay for MTX because it's impossible to earn proper money.

>all those fucking laser blasters, flying cars, demolition derby, orbital cannon and other shit that conflicts with GTA V's modern setting
The game's more confused than fucking TF2 and Saint's Row at this point, I mean I know Rockstar was working on RDR2 for a long time (which was my GOTY last year) but they must be big enough at this point to be developing the next GTA or some other games in the meantime like LA Noire or Bully.

gotta love old shitty digital apartments.
they gave you that trashy sense of freedom that felt like an actual glimpse in the adult world

Attached: nostalgic sleeze.png (1788x1304, 1.88M)

The graphics just weren't all that great. if you were playing for realism, you were there for the wrong reasons.

It's no problem to kill you gringo
I am just some random guy from the internet with my own radio station called "mp3" :D
GTA Online is boring af. I would rather play MTA again or something

I've played it couple of years ago. It aged like horse cum.

sure but hair, make up, outfit it all changed from the art that I assume was drawn up in beta but never corrected.
guess it's just sloppy as many games were/are with last minute changes and small details folks like me get hung up on.

me as a kid looking and safe houses in GTA: "what a mess, what a shithole"
me now: "I wonder how much would the rent cost"

Something inside me is broken, I want my innocence bacc.

>get an update last year on GTA IV for steam
>think it's going to be something for the 10th anniversary of the game's release
>rockstar just removed music from the game retroactively despite having no reason to do so for existing copies
Fuck you too Rockstar.

Attached: gta iv hotdog.gif (430x334, 2.94M)

Having a place you can call home really amps up the comfiness in this kind of games

CHU GONNA BE SAAAAAWRY!

I think this is one of things I didn't like about V, all the safehouses seem too clean and pristine besides Trevor's trailer and you can't use anything trashy after beating the game out in Los Santos.

Any good mods?

Attached: serveimage.jpg (1280x720, 110K)

Fucking BOOST PADS?! This isn't Wipeout or F-Zero for fuck's sake.

>I am just some random guy from the internet with my own radio station called "mp3"
Was an attempted joke regarding Vice City but whatever.

youtube.com/watch?v=ldEAZFZbtec

Did you guys ever realize that in the End of the Line in GTA SA the phrase "motherfucking piece of shit" is said two times in a row by different characters?
I know it's autistic to even notice, but it always made me feel like it was kind of odd.

I miss back when Rockstar made handheld GTA games, it feels like the company just doesn't have the same fun charm anymore.

Attached: gta psp games.jpg (640x387, 102K)

I actually think it's aged much better than GTA IV and even GTA V. The decision to port it to phones makes it a top tier mobile game.

>Fucking BOOST PADS?! This isn't Wipeout or F-Zero for fuck's sake.
They should just remake GTA 2 in 3D at this point, that game was bonkers and wasn't ashamed of it

Yeah, but it is understandable though the start from rockbottom has been done to death and all characters were all established LS locals.
So even though we miss out on that I could apreciate not starting out flat broke in a ditch

what game is that bottom left

Ah :D Phil is so calm in GTA 3...
Also >that mission
Holy shit, it was so hard for me when I played it for the first time

I kept a shitty apartment for my GTO character because all the higher tiers were just too empty. Maybe some jab at LA and plastic people but rockstar isn't clever about their social commentary so I'd be giving them too much credit on that one.

Vampire the masquerade bloodlines kiddo

I think it sucks.

The 3D universe was perfect.

4 was my personal favourite because it had some degree of realism to it
i know that wanting realism from gta games is stupid, but there's only so much quirky real life satire commentary i can take

i honestly can't stomach talk shows in gta 5 because it's always some ironic funny negative commentary about today's society and culture

this ones pretty good, you should try it! :D

>spent ages wondering who is the glasses dude on GTA III cover
>it's a random mafia goon

>spent hours of my childhood seeing if I could fuck misty
>there's like 1 good image of her on paheal

Attached: doppel_aubergine.jpg (245x222, 16K)

they've always been like that, user. The problem with GTA5 is they didn't try to be clever or even entertaining about it, it was bare minimum reference 'humor.'

It still is :) With some mod, patches and shit but..
except for LCS and VCS,cuz there is no PC release
Sucks to be you
>4 was my personal favourite because it had some degree of realism to it
Nothing wrong with it. It was still a fun game do play. Also Vladivostok FM :3

SA still feels fresh
I installed VC and it feels outdated.
Havent play GTA 3 cuz i was a poorfag.

Isn't it nice and comfy?

*bang*

Why did he try so hard for her when he was just going to end up killing her?

4 is my favorite one too, I feel like it has the best city atmosphere I've seen in any game besides Max Payne and I agree about V's radio shows being absolute garbage.
Funny enough IV feels less cynical to me than V does despite being a commentary about the American Dream being dead.

What the fuck is wrong with you.

It's a classic but VC is comfier and SA is the best GTA

Attached: vice city.jpg (1920x1080, 366K)

>125 HP
I always forget you can bang hookers in this

VC had better vehicles and guns but I really love the atmosphere and characters of III more.

It's weird how there are so many bright, vivid colors yet everything feels so soulless.

I liked the mood of VC, but I was always frustrated at how quickly I always ran out of road. I don't know that the map was small, but it felt small.

Map was better then VC, as were the radio stations which were actually memorable and not just meme 80s greatest hits. Otherwise, it was surpassed quickly, but i still like it and come back for it every now and then, especially since every car was updated to HD.

>I don't know that the map was small, but it felt small.
Doesn't help that the mainland feels dead as fuck compared to the East Island.

is IV any good? i think my laptop can handle it.
V would make it explode tho.

What saddens me is they finally brought back demolition derbies and other vehicular arena combat but it's all presented in the same disconnected style.

100%-ing it fucking sucks to get and isn't worth it.

Like, 4 always had some shit twist about the american dream. TLaD was the greatest commentary on old boomers I've ever seen in a videogame.
5 is just "haha HOLLYWOOD am i right guys? am i right? HOLLYWOOD and GLOBAL WARMING and KARDASHIANS other COOL and HIP millennial issues! we have cara delevlelavelevlelavevigngngnene as a radio host!!!"

can't wait to have a "retro" 00s GTA made by zoomers

GTA needs to go back to using older time frames like Vice City in the 80's or San Andreas in the early 90's, I'd play another one in Liberty City if they based it off of 1970's New York during the height of its crime wave.

Any good mods for VC? I'm still stuck on the helicopter mission on PC.

I wish Rockstar would revisit this title and Vice City. Those two are my all time favorites but I find myself modding the heck out of them to enjoy them these days.

Yes it's great, though for some reason the game has some weird bugs on PC with certain settings.

t. laptop used to be able to run it until some update in 2013 bugged it out

Anything but one of those stupid GTA-ish 40's games.

I think it's because it doesn't seem realistic whatsoever. You have to have some sort semblance of realism otherwise it's just completely off the wall.

You mean with all the raised areas and that? Yeah, it's as if it's rewarding lack of creativity.

Its moody atmosphere is something Rockstar never managed to replicate. Also the radio is fucking great
youtube.com/watch?v=eMkdtMQH7WM

I honestly avoid anything that would change gameplay or make it easier. i think it's goofy to change the cars and props into real life looking objects. At most, I might throw in some directx related thing to get better reflections and shadows and junk.

You always liked this guy's art.

>Cruising around to Double Clef FM is magical
It is. I always preferred driving around Portland in some shitty beater (Manana or Perrenial) listening to K-Jah under rain, or racing in the city in Banshee or Stinger with Rise FM on.

Attached: gta party.jpg (1093x731, 188K)

I also like Vice City, but I don't get the idea why people like San Andreas this much.
I am doing this on my every playthorugh since that one day when I discovered this feature
Definitely worth your time imo, it's still gta and still a decent game
>5 is just "haha HOLLYWOOD am i right guys? am i right? HOLLYWOOD and GLOBAL WARMING and KARDASHIANS other COOL and HIP millennial issues! we have cara delevlelavelevlelavevigngngnene as a radio host!!!"
This, but I still had my dose of fun because it's GTA
also >ayy weed lmao
>GTA needs to go back to using older time frames like Vice City in the 80's or San Andreas in the early 90's, I'd play another one in Liberty City if they based it off of 1970's New York during the height of its crime wave.
THIS
Same goes for me. I still have high hopes for this series.

>I had to install some mods to make it playable.

Awful taste.

gta5 ruined lazlow for me, as a character

Too bad they fucking killed for no reason by making anything GTA 4 and onwards to be in another universe.

Fuck those cunts.

Widescreen fix, 2dfx, silent patch, some textures and stuff like that.
There is a whole guide on steam: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=641839127
In Vice City and III I've thought that he was some tough guy.In 5 he was just a plain pussy from Hollyweed...

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=720574899 also this guide can be helpful too

considering the way the franchise has gone, that was probably a blessing in disguise

Thanks

I beat GTA V recently are there any good money making methods after beating the game? Income from properties is pretty minimal, and robbing security trucks is like $5000.

HD cars and wheels, free SA style camera and leaves falling from the trees, 60FPS limiter plus bugfixes - that's what i usually run with.

gaming the stock market was a solid method and it was profitable enough for them to actually dial down the potential returns in the re-release. Let that marinade for a moment; they reduced payouts in STORY MODE.

One of my favorite games; I still remember the first time playing it at a friend's house. In its own way it has become as much a nostalgia trip as VC and SA were with their settings. I also appreciate that a lot of the radio music was made in-house rather than licensing out a ton of pop songs as per VC and SA.

this is the best radio in SA.
if you dont like it you are a fag

youtube.com/watch?v=N04mX-Zyr1U

That's what I did. This is massively nostalgic. Still holds up.

>when you time the explosion just right so it explodes as the loop ends

GTA III had a lot of this anyway, but I'd take an early 2000s setting over the '10s again any day.

>unmemorable
Exactly. Ask yourself: how many of their songs associate with GTA:VC only by being the hip and cool shit from the 80s?

GTA III had the misfortune of releasing in 2001 so alot of the era apropiate political subjects had to be cut
if the era got another shot Rockstar now has the freedom to make it more authentic

GTA IV had the best physics out of any entry, I don't care what anyone says.

V has no sense of speed and I hate it. The cars feel like RC cars

>I don't get why people like San Andreas this much
Scope. That's literally it. SA felt like a bloated game to me, and that's why I think it's overrated, but even to this day the amount of shit in the game is impressive.

VCS HD WHEN?

>SA felt like a bloated game to me, and that's why I think it's overrated
Same reason I didn't like Skyrim or bethesda games; there's a lot you can do, but what can be done, isn't really good. But GTA SA is a fun game.

take it easy

i wish stories were ported to PC

>Helicopter in the top left
Why did Chinatown wars ignore that little recurring detail? Even IV and V kept it intact

Pre-Fallout 4 era Bethesda games are a pretty good comparison actually. They were mindblowing in terms of their epic scale at the time of their release, but upon closer examination they're mostly unrefined and have many pointless features and questionable design choices. San Andreas is the same.

One thing I don't understand is why no one gives SA shit for introducing heavily scripted missions to the series.

It doesn't sound like you're too far into the game so I think you might need a fresh install for all this shit and remember to get the Vice City 1.0 exe
Silentpatch fixes a handful of things
GInput if you have a controller
Widescreen Fix to fix the stretched HUD
SkyGFX for better graphics
and sharptrails if you don't like the trail blur

Who cares? I also like III and SA music because they're good at capturing the atmosphere

>One thing I don't understand is why no one gives SA shit for introducing heavily scripted missions to the series.
Most probably remember the goofy aspect of the missions in a fond way, like "remember touching the weed fields" or "area 51 jetpack!".

going from gangs to jetpack theft is rather stupid once you think about it

No what's stupid is it was OK when SA did it but people lost their shit when GTA online did it.

That's what I thought. I really adds to my view that SA is style over substance that people fell for because they were young and impressionable when they first played it. I used to think SA was the best GTA too. Then I replayed them all when I was older and now I prefer VC and IV.

Most would bring up that the originals would do the same and have outlandish missions, but it really messed up with the main tone of the game. Though GTA SA wasn't the first, 3 and VC did it too, especially the latter with Tommy getting drugged/ mind controlled by the Haitian lady.

SA didn't go TrackMania Sunrise tracks in the sky stupid (officialy, at least). People lost their shit because the single was all about looking realistic, and MP went all Saints Row.

Hey Tommy

NICE ASS BABY

I felt this way until Micheal's family left and you got to see his house go to shit.as he starts leaving pizza boxes and beer bottles everywhere

Don't you mean WHERE'S MY FUCKIN MONEY, TOMMY

>I used to think SA was the best GTA too. Then I replayed them all when I was older and now I prefer VC and IV.
Same except 3 and CTW instead of VC.

Tommy getting drugged was part of a totally optional side story and was the only instance of magical realism in the game.

I will say that the more I think about SA's tone, the more I realise that it's a fucking mess. Los Santos has you doing gangbanger shit, then you're sent out in the woods to do random fetchquests, then you go to San Fierro to do shit involving the triads, martial arts and drug smuggling, then you go to Las Venturas to do Mafia and Secret Agent shit before the endgame.

There's just no consistency. The only merit I'd say this structure has is that it does a good job of making the game feel like an epic journey.

It even feels inconsistent during mission strands, let alone the different cities: gta.fandom.com/wiki/Missions_in_GTA_San_Andreas

Big Smoke's strand goes from chasing down Mexicans to a shootout with the Russian Mafia.

>tfw sitting down with some homemade burgers to watch all of GTA VC in GTA series videos

Attached: comfy4.jpg (1100x700, 184K)

Honestly when it came out it blew my mind more than any other game i'd played. Like if you weren't around for release you really have no room to comment on it, because it was genuinely a game no one had ever experienced beforehand.

>The only merit I'd say this structure has is that it does a good job of making the game feel like an epic journey.
Yeah I guess it did, going from Los Santos to the desert and robbing casinos and smuggling for the Chinese.

>Big Smoke's strand goes from chasing down Mexicans to a shootout with the Russian Mafia.
Did the Russian connection even go anywhere?

TOMMY VERCETTI? HAH, MMMSHEET

>dat intro theme

I miss 2003

>Did the Russian connection even go anywhere?
Barely.

>A Russian mobster makes a cameo appearance during Key To Her Heart, when Millie Perkins walks out of Caligula's Casino into her car. They make a final appearance at Big Smoke's Crack Palace, attempting to protect Big Smoke and eliminate Carl Johnson. Ultimately, the Russians, alongside the other gangs, are defeated.

Great mission though, I won't fault it on that front.

What I liked about SA is that all the side shit felt worth doing. You can complete the firefighter missions to become fireproof, you can get over 10k in the burglary mission for infinite sprint, you can do the paramedic missions for more health, etc. Hell the casinos finally gave you something to do with all that fucking money.
In GTAV you pretty much get jack shit for all those collectibles and exploring the map doesn't feel worthwhile at all. Even the cheats are lame as fuck, it's sad really. Also SA shits all over V singleplayer in terms of character customizability.

6th greatest game of all time

>the remixed version at the start of LCS
youtu.be/EbmKLXYkPbs?t=155

They've updated it since then a couple times and now it runs better than it originally did on PC more or less And got rid of all the good songs

Worst of the 3D GTAs but it was also the first. It's pretty good for what it was.

Was amazing and ground breaking at the time. It was really a mind blowing experience the first time I played it back near release but it has aged horribly compared to VC and SA.

Damn, they could've done so much more with the Russians and the Mexicans too. You can't tell me the Blacks control all of Los Santos, ever seen Colors? They had lot of power in California too.

This and San Andreas still my favorites. Great maps with great missions and characters. Say what you will about Vice City, but it has the worst and most constricting map.

There was a lot of missed opportunity on that front, especially with the Mexican gangs. Never seen Colors but that was an interesting trailer. Must watch it some time.

can we just take a moment to appriciate how great this ad was?
youtube.com/watch?v=HOf62HfqPWE
Rockstar could have taken the lazy approach like playing some rock music with some narrator but instead its a slow melodic opera song that has soundclips of the various mission characters while theres pure gameplay in the background
this is one of the best videogame ads

So much soul.

This is why I installed a mod to force to fuckers to always have bats. I've played and replayed this game enough that I never want to deal with this shotgun bullshit ever again.

quite impressive how much the game changed in those 6 months before released
they completely removed Clauds voice

>laughs from within my bulletproof vehicle

>shit's so bad they make them non-hostile in Rigged to Blow

>ad is basically a clipshow of the mission structure + doing whatever the fuck you want

>There was a lot of missed opportunity on that front, especially with the Mexican gangs.
The Mexicans were gaining serious traction in the underworld after the Colombians fell from grace during the mid-to-late 90s. It would've been cool to seem some of that.

Oh that was added in for promotional stuff and is not canon.

Song used in the video was Derrick May, Chaotic Harmony, if anyone liked it.

Claude never had a voice at any point in development, someone just looped in one of the pedestrian lines for effect.

FUCK THEM!

So is the Liberty Tree: rockstargames.com/libertytree/

>Hot after his inaugural celebration newly elected President George W. Bush is making Liberty City his first stop on a nationwide big city tour. "I'm so sick of seeing the guy's face," store owner Rudy Chi said. "I wish'd he'd picked somewhere else." The President's first day will be filled with meetings with the mayor and local city officials followed by a dinner and reception where he will address a local chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

>Local city advocates are hoping to meet with Bush and bring to light the city's rapidly increasing crime infestation. Education, investment in the arts and child care are also hoping to be discussed, but most agree that little can be accomplished without the President first attempting to tackle Liberty City's expanding illegal trafficking problem at its major ports. John Norris a city inspector for all shipments in and out of the airport, says, "No one can control this airport, if he can he's a better man than I am!"

>Two local teams went head to head, but there was only one outcome at Bush Stadium yesterday. The Cocks creamed the Beavers, with a display of power finishing and aggression that the Beavers had no answer for. It was wham, bam, and thank you Ma'am, as the Cock's Iranian striker, Ma'am, scored three times, after powerful thrusts down the wing and some very clever approach work through the middle. Each time he bored down on the Beavers they had no answer to his questions, mainly because they were posed in Arabic.

Going to these lengths to promote the game is something you don't really see nowadays. Unless I'm completely out of the loop.

What did Rosenberg do to be kick out by Tommy?

GTA 4 has to be the greatest "remake" of any game ever. It feels simply lightyears ahead of GTA 3, despite the fact they're really only about 6 and a half years apart. Rockstar is a valuable company.

Attached: gta-iv3.jpg (1500x938, 203K)

Watch Carlitos Way, since Rosenberg is a direct reference/parody of Sean Penns character.

This. I can't can't how many hours I've spent watching their playthroughs

The shotgun was so satisfying in that game

>a gun so broken in the hands of the mafia that they had to patch it out in the digital releases
I still remember the sound of the shotgun blast hitting the side of my car

Attached: 1542662369330.png (1200x630, 178K)

I think that's why people put it on such a high pedestal. On it's own, it looks like your stereotypical brown/grey open world sandbox. But when you remember that this was the game that came after GTA VCS, it puts in perspective how sharp the improvement was in almost every aspect

M8, it was the game that made the blueprint for the brown/grey sandbox. Despite how divisive public opinion on the game was, it still shook the industry in such a way that even Saint's Row 2 and all it's attempts shit on it seemed small in comparison.

GTA VCS was a better and more fun game than 4 with more to do. 4 was a real step down.

It's still far ahead of every sandbox game in most aspects.

IV could take up to 70 hours to 100% though. Did you not do the assassinations, the vigilante missions, the repo missions etc.

50 of those hours are just driving from point A to point B. I don't care how much bloat it has.

>tfw you always turned down the volume when the moan came in

Pretty much impossible to show your face in Portland with these guys around.

>Sweet
>comic relief
What?
Sweet was anything but the comic relief. He was what CJ would be if CJ was a real person; dedicated to the gang until he ends up in prison.

I know he's not explicitly comic relief, but his inability to think about anything except "m-muh hood" is hilariously annoying.
He also has the gall to complain to his brother, who got involved in government bullshitery just to get him out of jail, that he isn't "real" enough.

PERFECT example of what a sequel should be
rockstar was the master of GOOD sequels
