I know I shouldn't blogpost. But I've been playing as a girl character the whole 2 years of playing this game and I've been purposely acting like a girl so people would treat me better.

I made a ton of friends in my FC and they wanted me to get onto voice chat for a good couple of times but I would always refuse for obvious reasons. They haven't treated me poorly but I can tell they feel a bit distant and awkward towards me now because they're starting to know I'm a guy.

As a MNK main I really hate that they share gear with SAM. It would make more sense to put MNK on the NIN token and put SAM on the DRG token.

Keep seeing armor that just doesn't fit by either having too much heavy armor for SAM or too much light armor for MNK. Kind of upsets me going forward as the armor consistency will only continue to get worse.

I've said it before in these threads, but Self Destruct would be a cool, unique piece of situational utility. You basically trade your damage for the next minute for a big chunk of up-front damage. Use it for pushing phases.

I avidly avoid any raid groups with couples. Shit is fucking pure cancer 100% of the time. Stuff will always go wrong or you end up having to argue with 2 people instead of just one.

What you want is just a combination of both. Allow people to gain big chunks of progress that's time gated (get like 5% of relic every day for roulettes or something) and allow people that want it faster to grind fates or eureka and shit.

Because Yoshi-P just reused Allagan assets and used the BS excuse of "Eorzean" to justify armor that would look generic as shit in-game. Hell bet most players would not have thought Rathalos were it not locked behind that fight. On top of MH's team actually going out of their way at making high quality models of the DRG AF and taking the Limit Break to make a interesting Kinsect alongside it. Then consider how well they took XIV's Behemoth's moveset and translated it to MH combat and compare it to XIV's Rathalos fight, really shows how much work got put in to the crossover on both sides.

The bar for alliance raids will never be high. This is the game with people who had trouble with a boss that requires them to know elementary level math. A savage tier 24 man would be more like doing ultimate with the type of braindead retards that do this catch up content.

The only gimmick is that the people outside need to clear a FATE to make him killable. Once that's done, the only thing you do in his fight is see what color he is (light or dark) and move to the opposite color for every mechanic. It's pathetic.

That seems to be the intent. There are plenty of ways to make it less awful.

it's pugged on jp at least, portals are a free for all, people form up with whoever gets in and just go. At most you occasionally disband after raiden if 5-6 tanks didnt get in, but otherwise pugs have av on farm here and only wipe to ozma. Give it a couple more weeks and even that will probably be farm status.

Why they still don't release modding features for people and make the shit more open like WoW does is beyond me. Like people are going to use this shit anyway so why not build it into the game or make it easier for people to do it.

Yes, it's essentially a job application process if you don't have a clear. They ask for evidence of your Ozma prog status, and nothing you can say will convince them otherwise to take you. Even if you've cleared savage or done ultimate, content which is objectively more difficult (since Proto-Ozma is on the difficulty level of a tier-start savage fight like 1S/5S/9S, if that), they still won't give you the time of day.

They will prioritize everyone in their clique, which leads to about 50/56 people a run already having cleared it. I can understand not wanting to take anyone that hasn't at least seen the fight, but it's honestly the type of shit you can see once and know how not to fuck it up. For those 6 remaining slots you need evidence you've either seen enrage or died at like 10%, and they won't accept healers or tanks that haven't cleared no matter what.

The game offers no incentive to really do anything with an FC. You have a Static for raids and maybe EX Primals, nothing else or more. Engagement after doing the new dungeon once, EX weapon obtainment and maybe at least one Savage clear drops hard and considering only around 8% even clear Savage you can imagine how much lower that bar is for the casual players. At this point FFXIV is the paid version of Second Life where you stand around to look pretty and talk to people with the occasional game to do.

The MNK katars aren't as bad as the PLD weapon. They're bad but the PLD weapon is just pure shit. It wouldn't be good for cutting, and it wouldn't be good for stabbing. It's over-designed but not in an aesthetically pleasing manner or anything remotely close to it. The sword isn't symmetrical, while the shield is, and to top it off, both the sword and the shield dye like absolute shit.

Curved swords are ugly, the sword should have been a symmetrical longsword. RDM got a better sword than PLD did.

The sheer naked horror of what they're saying, the blase quality with which they're saying it, it creates this brutal paradox that almost rapes the player's basic sense of what is decent.

At least the Anima weapons had unique glow effects for each weapon. Holy shit did they ever look cool.
My biggest issue with the final step of the Eureka weapons is actually about the glow, and how it ruins the weapon models.
