Thief Thread

Favorite Missions/FMs? When did you start playing? Also Thief 1 is the best and you can't convince me otherwise.

T1 is literally the worst but its better than """""Thief"""" 4

Thief 3 is my favorite and the seaside manor is my favorite level. Fight me.

I first played Thief 3 on xbox after my bro played it at a LAN house. I played Thief gold a few years later then Thief 2 when the newdark patches came out.

Thief 4 would've been good imo if they hadn't removed all the lore and drawn cutscenes . The Keepers, Hammerite, and Trickster stuff was one of the more interesting aspects of the franchise.

Just finished Gold a few days ago for the first time. The Sword and Song of the Cavern were amazing.

No it wouldn't have been good retard. It doesn't even have jumping.

That """"game"""" still has too much problems. The old lore and cutscenes wouldn't have fixed them, user, but at least it would have made the entire experience feel less bland and mediocre overall.

Did it not? Honestly the plot was so forgettable that i don't remember much about my playthrough of the game in general.

>T1 is literally the worst
I used to believe that, but after playing TMA a bunch and replaying Gold on Expert I came to appreciate the supernatural levels a lot more. Also the best Gold missions are better than the best TMA missions, but conversely the worst Gold missions are worse than TMA's worst.

It still hurts.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
who thought this level was a good idea

Looking Glass truly was ahead of its time. Amazing how Squeenix fucked everything up so bad.

I played TDP when it came out, but was too much of a proto-zoomer to grasp it properly. I spent an inordinate amount of time on Thief 2's Life Of The Party demo though. I still don't know why they used a lesser version in the full game.

(thief gold)
1. the sword
2. mage towers
3. lost city
4. song of the caverns

my first playthorugh was late october last year

i will probably play thief II next month or 2, but SS2 first

looking glass was literally Dostoevsky of gaming
they understood the medium and why people would love the games they were making. their simulations were perfect blend of logical reasoning that you have to apply to real world mixed with rules and limitations that vritual worlds are burdened with. their games were really deep and meaningful.

they werent exactly fun like games that feature bing bang wahoo italian plumber are. its the fun you get from the pain you have to overcome alone

Why is this level so comfy?

I don't trust anyone who doesn't think The Sword is the best level in T1/Gold

Most of the "fun" you get from LGS games comes from things outside the game. They're incredibly immersive experiences.
That's why I never understand when people compare Thief and MGS, while they're both great stealth games, they are trying to achieve completely different things.

THAT CORRIDOR
perfectly placed, just to show you that this manor wont be as you had expected it to be

and, ugh… and the first manor is cute as well, i would place it as fifth

If you're going to replay Thief Gold or play T2 whenever you plan to do so, try going for full loot on each level. It's another reason why the series is so replayable.

Also, you can just grab the sword from mantling up on the pedestal, no need to go all the way up.

>seaside manor
Very comfy level. Didn't care much for Thief 3 though.
