Why do we hate it again?

It fails to meet the most basic standards for a storefront.
It doesn't even have a fucking search function.

Shitposting aside, why would I hate it? Hate is such a strong feeling. I don't have strong feelings about it at all.

Frankly, however, for me personally, there's just no compelling reason to use it. There are some exclusives, but I don't really care about playing them. There are some timed exclusives, but I don't buy games at full price and by the time their prices drop sufficiently they'll probably be on other stores. Besides exclusives and timed exclusives, Epic doesn't really offer anything. It's just not better than Steam or GOG in any way that matters.

I've created an Epic account and signed in every two weeks to grab the free games, just in case I want to play them eventually, but, as of now, I haven't even downloaded the client.

Remember when Gabe was pissed at Windows 8?

Because things that are shilled to oblivion typically suck or are rooted in the deepest corporate evil

Gabe is still pissed at Microsoft though and keeps them on their toes with the SteamOS backup plan, Valve actually contributed a lot to Linux gaming by hiring graphics experts to work on the shit Linux drivers and stuff.
Tim is all bark no bite, or rather bite the hands that feed him.
