>dude let's throw you into a 2v1 tutorial fight before you get the chance to save or buy items and your character is slow as fuck and dies easily if he gets ganged up on by multiple opponents LMAO
What the fuck were they thinking?
>dude let's throw you into a 2v1 tutorial fight before you get the chance to save or buy items and your character is slow as fuck and dies easily if he gets ganged up on by multiple opponents LMAO
What the fuck were they thinking?
I lost that first fight kek
I barely survived that one, but Zagi fucked me up twice.
The Burst Arte tutorial is probably the worst tutorial in video game history. It quite literally encourages you to never use them in that fight.
>losing the tutorial fight
thats how you know this game isnt fucking around
>Yea Forums isn't full of casual zoomer scu-
It's not like you have to win that fight.
I seriously do not understand the design of that fight. If you try to set up a Burst Arte you get hit with an enemy combo that staggers you and you can't get out of.
It also doesn't help that absolutely no walkthroughs let you on to the fact that the fight is difficult. They gloss over it like "lol its just a tutorial fight GIT GUD FAGIT"
You DID buy magic lenses before the tutorial fight and scanned both of them, did you?
I'm 10 hours into this game. Of course I did.
I want to fuck Velvet
Can't you scan them at the Nam Cobanda Isle?
So what do you miss for not completing the monster book?
Didn't bother with it because the idea of scanning every single enemy seemed unappealing to me, even though I knew there are probably permanently missable encounters/enemies.
GOD WHY IS RITA SO DELICIOUS I WANT TO FUCK HER SO BAD
I was itching for a fight, but damn I blew through items.
Pro-tip: You can just use the Free DLC (not sure if it's still free) from PSN to cheat.
Oh all the games i’ve played this probably has the worst 1st impression fight fucking ever.
I literally don’t know what to do and I’m getting my shit rocked
I get git gud but that’s just plain unfair
>Spamming Azure Edge is a better strategy for the Burst Arte tutorial fight than actually trying to use Burst Arte
nani the fuck
You get like a title or so.
If all you care is about your party build, just keep an eye in the quests necessary to get the Brionac, and to learn Tiger Blade, Dazzling Spin and Vanji Lost.
I don't know, I had to drop the game because of RE2 and KH3 being released but now that I have the plat in both, I can resume ToV from where I left off, the start of part 2
I didn't so my monster book is 99% and I have to go into NG+ just to scan them to get 100% so I can get Karol's last title so I can get the bunny guild attachment so I can finish the collector's book for estelle's last title.
I didn't know you could lose that fight. You learn something new every day.
I say HRROOOAAAAHGH
Fucking garbage game design that was. Actually made me drop the game for a few weeks.
The game's combat system isn't designed for one-versus-many battles whatsoever. It's way too reliant on having teammates to bail your controlled character out of an ass whooping with heals, buffs, items, and distractions. Remove all of those and you're one or two combos away from a quick death. It's even worse in that one fight against like eight of Barbos' goons. You literally can't do shit besides run around and spam Azure Edge until like five of those fuckers are dead.
>It also doesn't help that absolutely no walkthroughs let you on to the fact that the fight is difficult.
They likely wrote the walkthrough while playing the game on normal.
>that one fight against like eight of Barbos' goons
At least cutscenes are skippable.
is this game good for Nintendo Switch?
No the game has too much testosterone for you and your switch
FUCK
This game is FULL of retard designed encounters. The tutorial is just setting your expectations.
There is literally zero reason not to buy any game for the Switch if it's available for the Switch. Especially if you're a wagekek like me who actually travels for work.
I was gonna play it on a flight today but my friend gave me a hardback of dune. So I'm re reading that
>tutorial is 1v2 when the game is designed around 1v1
>throw 1vmultiple at you multiple times
Just a really badly designed game
P L E B F I L T E R.
You miss a cute scene with best girl
>dude lets make the player play an hour long tutorial with no saving and if they lose the fight at the end then they have to redo the whole hour
just japanese things, user.
ohohohoho....
HOHOHOHOHO!!!!!
YOUR SUFFERING HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN.
If you want to keep your sanity, DON'T play a fresh game on Hard.
Crash issues.
Fly O Holy Sword!
that's literally the only way to play the game correctly. juggle your enemies ad infinitum or your fucked.
I remember needing to drop the difficulty on easy back on the 360 to win here and feeling bad about it. It was my first Tales though. Thankfully I was able to win on the remaster without dropping the difficulty, though it's still a hard fucking fight.
>Yea Forums whining about a fucking JRPG and a Tales game at that being difficult or unfair
I played this game at launch when I was 14 and has no problems whatsoever this site is fucking iredeemable.
>Use the combo skills and techs to play the game better
Wow what a novel idea.
I think everyone does, as a new player theres no way you'd know about manual cancelling or anything and those two can stunlock you easily
Kind of a shitty way to start the game when yuri spends 5 minutes taunting them making you think theyre bumbling beforehand
You're still 14 kid
that fight is hardcore gangbang on hard. getting the shafts from all directions while the men scream at you "you like that?"
They tell you how to free run you casual, fucking use it.
git gud
>reading comprehension
zoomers also bitch how the game doesn't have autosave.
are they too lazy to find the nearest save point or save on the world map?
>not giving you a proper dodge
>not letting you disable the retarded useless jump
>not letting you continue running after a jump, locking you with animation frames
>not giving you a button to select the nearest enemy
>not giving you the ability to MOVE THE FUCKING CAMERA
fuck off with your excuses, this game is a literal polished turd
you didn't play it on hard, and you changed the analog controls to d-pad (which you can't do on the pc version), that's why it was easier for you.
that u need to git gud or be pleb filtered hard
the devs need to git gud at designing a combat system
How the fuck do you combo this dude? I beat him last night so its w/e, but he kept popping out of everything, even when I caught his neutral tech outs
If this bothers you, you're probably going to really not going to like this game.
That's not even the shittiest part of this one.
The characters? Oh fuck. Do I ever hate these characters.
So fucking sacharine. hate them.
>1000 use Brutal Fang
ebin shitposting m8
I finished this game on Xbox years ago and never had any problems you're all literal egoraptors and shit at games.
>I played this game at launch when I was 14
Enjoy your b&
Become good.
Yeah, they have way less recovery frames on hit. Just like Estelle he can just frame one arte out of a move because of the extremely shortened hit stun. Also BEST TITS IN THE SERIES
I really want to get into the Tales series after enjoying Vesperia, but I just wish you had more options for crowd control and that enemies weren't so prone to break out of your combos on higher difficulties in the future titles. Makes the combo-oriented system thay've been "perfecting" for so long now almost null. And it doesn't help that all the skills you'd want to alleviate some of the issues throughout the main game are locked behind post-game.
This
Normally I check myself to make sure I’m not playing like shit:
But this what the fuck?
Even god damn demon souls had more fair forms of avoiding getting hit.
Where’s a party?
Where’s a decent dodge roll?
Why is jump completely useless and can’t at least have an anime combo or some shit?
Why is it just plain unfair to play?
Whats you're favorite character to play? Patty and Repede are becoming my favs right now.
How do you Patty?
>>not giving you a button to select the nearest enemy
But there is you fucking mong
Why do you hate Estelle?
>also if you don't use magic lens on both you already fucked up on completing the monster book on that playthrough
She can do literally everything well, but I think she's best as a mage knight because her OTG options are REALLY limited outside of her spell game.
Yea ive been using her for her magic more than the cool gun and food abilities. Marvelous Fountain is godly.
Advance and critical mode spamming. Brainiac when i want to stay back. Critical mode has so many cool combos you can pull off and advance gets rid of most of the rng shit if you hate getting trolled
and that is?
Literally just tap R1 instead of holding
Because her naivete is staggering. I thought Colette was something else, but Estelle is willing to let the world go to ruin just so she could heal the person in front of her.
Don't discount her chef skills if you're playing as her though. They feel waaaaaaay better than praying for marvelous fountain since you can combo them and keep someone pinned. Also, I hope you know that AI patty can and will use brainiac spell select. Stop Flow and Marvelous fountain all fucking day, its fantastic
it does not select the nearest enemy, it selects whatever enemy matches the direction your pushing with the analog, which is beyond frustrating
Tap nigga tap
I can't fix retardation for you user
So how didn't Raven die at the end if all blastia were turned into spirits?
Number one tits in the series right here.
I lost the first fight, thought I was supposed to lose because the cutscene still played after it. When I found out I restarted the game then realized I had to do everything over again, the combat is so bad I didn't have the heart to continue
>t. haven't played the fucking game and don't know how the lock-on button even works
I just went to refight him just for kicks and he literally teched out with overlimit>mystic arte. My combo still held after the mystic arte and while he was in his post MA-stun state is how I know it was a tech out. THAT is straight up cheating
It uses his life force to power itself, not aer.
Yeah, i believe he, Yeager and Duke are the only main story bosses who can just activate mystic artes
>start Vesperia
>put it on hardest difficulty like I always do in Tales Of games
>though in Vesperia Yuri feels so fucking sluggish enemies can just kill you before attack animation is done
This Tales game feels like the slowest one in the series.
Maybe other characters are faster but I always thought Yuri to be a quick character.
Early Vesperia's such a fucking disgrace to the entire series. Even DotNW gave you backstepping and character switching right off the bat.
Should I play Xillia or Hearts R?
Holy shit you're dumb
it came out in 2008
Most tales games are like this
They just throw you into a fight and expect to know everything
Only hard part of the game was that giant fucking wolf that poisons you.
>going from from symphonia spell cancel infinites to actually having to fight as the game intends
I feel like i’m playing Vesperia wrong.
Been playing Tales for years and my first time against them it was definitely a "what the fuck is this shit" tutorial fight. Kept my distance and healed when needed, seperated and made use of the free run to space them.
But someone who has never touched the game? Absolute bullshit.
A likes tight pants more than skirts, B like skirts more than tight pants
Played it back on the 360 and the tutorial fight is easy as hell, what the fuck is wrong with all of you?
I started on hard on the PS4 release and that's the only time they've ever killed me. Unless you're playing on hard from the getgo were every boss has ridiculously bloated hp and you die, you're a casual.
Even if you've never played a Tales of game and you die to the tutorial fight you're a bumbling retard who should probably just refund right then.
According to you Matthewmathosis fags there are no games in existence built towards 1 vs many. Every time you are proved wrong, be it tales, das2 or God hand.
Fuck off and git gud
The problem is precisely if fyou've played a Tales game. You don't have basic actions that have existed since Tales of fucking Eternia.
And you don't need them anyway.
How long does it take for this game to start, 4 hours in, just finished the ruins next to Aspio, I feel like the adventure hasn't really started for some reason. Maybe because I haven't met the sexy chick and the samurai yet.
Dynasty Warriors
Dude, its a Tales game, expect 70+ hours to complete
I've only played Symphonia and Abyss and they "start" much faster in my memories.
You're just wrong. It's started.
>literal retard
Holy fucking scrubs city Yea Forums is such a casual shithole.
Just stick to your gacha games you brainlet tards lmao
Bosses in the PS3 version were changed from the 360 to no longer be subjected to infinites. Comboing them requires a lot more finesse.
She's garbage.
Thats why I mentioned catching his tech outs. Learn to read you fuck
