What are some of your hopes for the game?
>An easy way to search for levels in the game, no more level codes, be able to sort through game type, tags, etc...
>Create "level packs" where users can play a series of your levels together
>A music creator similar to Mario Paint
>Amiibo costume be not limited to just the SMB style, and have them not disappear after taking damage
>Get rid of the annoying wait time for unlocking new items
>Just more new stuff in general
>Some other stuff I can't think of
Super Mario Maker 2
BING BING WAHOO
I want to be able to transfer levels through wireless local
No idea but among the other good Switch games out there, this one will probably be the one to get me to buy a system. Had fun playing the first one with a friend a few years ago
map maker
Something I forgot to mention was the ability to transfer levels from the first game over
I think a reasonable idea is pre made "Maps" with stage areas.
So like the typical Mario circles you enter for a stage but they're empty. You place your levels into these circles. Essentially making your own map.
The game is DOA if it doesn't let you play levels without the online subscription. Uploading should be the only cost.
I'm excited to finally be able to have Mario Maker level threads on Yea Forums again, you faggots made some pretty creative levels.
I hope it's a good game without Nintendo Online because I'm not paying for that shit
I really hope the physical version comes with a stylus, seems kinda mandatory for a game like this.
Also will you be able to use gyro to move your cursor around while in TV mode? Gyro aiming in Splatoon 2 works amazingly well so I'll be upset if I have to manually move the cursor with the stick.
They have a gyro cursor in captain toad so probably
>The game is DOA if it doesn't let you play levels without the online subscription. Uploading should be the only cost.

So now we know what the shitposting will be like when it comes out
Even better if some schmuck buys MM2 and bitches about the paid online that he refuses to purchase out of sheer autistic stubbornness.
If you can afford new games, you can afford the Online.
>b-b-but muh dedicated servers
It just works, you don't need servers.
Co-op
Gravity. Why am I the only one who cares about gravity? Imagine the potential with four simple directions of gravity panels.
>game grumps
Ross gets an entire month to be paid full time while making Mario Maker levels
Aren't you jealous user?
And here come the shills who think it's ok when Nintendo does it.
What next, you'll shake with excitement when they announce amiibo costumes have been replaced with a Season Pass? Because hurr, you're just poor if you disagree with shitty business decisions.
meowser
It'll probably be free to upload and download levels. Even sóyny got that right with LBP and Dreams
user, user, user
How many times do we have to go over this?
Paid online was the plan from the very beginning, Nintendo was very transparent about this. The free trial period was only supposed to last a year, as a bonus to early adopters. They even extended it, which I guess gave people the impression that it would be free forever.
It's ill informed people such as yourself who have issue with Nintendo Online. And to top it all off, it's very affordable with plans starting at 3 dollars a month, to 20 dollars a year. Compared to PS+ or Xbone online, it's an absolute steal.
I honestly feel bad for those stubborn autists who refuse the fee and miss out on games like Splatoon 2 and Tetris 99. It's like you actually hate video games.
>And to top it all off, it's very affordable with plans starting at 3 dollars a month, to 20 dollars a year. Compared to PS+ or Xbone online, it's an absolute steal.
The service is vastly inferior to both PS4 and Xbone, though. You get what you pay for unless you play on PC where you get the best service, for free
>t. Switch + PS4 owner
For Nintendo to not delete levels just because they're not popular, especially with Switch requiring a sub fee to play online.
Big spiky dicks
Heh, enjoy paying $59.99 a year to play your no games online with free shovelware PS+ titles, chump. Tetris 99 alone was worth the 20 dollars IMO.
Christ Reggie, you're retiring soon so give it up.
If Fortnite can function without any subscription then the least they can do is let you play some fucking levels like you're supposed to.
Those are already in the first game. They were added in an update.
>150 mario maker episodes
>Arin never realizes mario can twirl mid-air hence making the game 5x times harder for himself
jesus christ he's a fucking retard
I havent played much mario but what does the twirl do? I still seem to get hit using it
PS+ games are much better than NES roms and Tetris, and PS4 actually has all the network features you'd expect from a current gen console.
Maybe our $20 per year Switch online fee will actually get Mario Maker 2 a text search feature. Probably not though
makes calculating where you fall/avoid death objects much easier, it's like a light version of peach's floating mechanic in mario2
Fuck off with your old shitty levels. Make new things you peasant
I'd rather they did the LBP method where the old levels are there already, but marked as made with MM1 and filterable.
That's not really making your own map if it's just a pre-made template
make it so mystery mushroom characters can be used outside of SMB1 mode
I'm excited for new original songs for SMB style Desert, Snow, Jungle and Night themes
>tfw Ross could make the shittiest levels but will get top ranking due to popularity alone.
Hammer suit, Tanooki suit and frog suit when
That's way too much work.
SMB2 style
PS Plus games are hit or miss.
What if the sprites stay the same regardless of course style? For example, the Luigi costume would remain the Mario 1 style sprite regardless of if you're in Mario 3, World, or even 3D World where it'd still be a flat 2D sprite in a 3D environment.
Agreed
But for me there's enough decent to good games to warrant the pricetag
You're literally saying "it's okay when Sony does it".
i'm saying it's okay when sony does it with current AAA games, not 30 year old 8mb ROMs and P2P server structures you insipid fuck
No I'm saying the PS+ games I play and enjoy are valued at much more than the $60 pricetag, if I bought them separately
?????
I don't think it can be that expansive, but it would be cute if you could get player made maps as the overworld for 100 Mario run. Sure, it wouldn't be your levels in the map, but it would add more flair to the experience.
First one wasn't me, just a shitposter. I have a PS4 and Switch
Less 10 year olds designing levels please
how about giving mystery mushrooms character the ability to have power up forms then?
3D Weird Mario
Honestly hope that SMB keeps the Costume power ups to that style, because its really the only thing going for it. I do hope that certain skins get height changes such as Mega Yarn Yoshi and Megaman, because a lot of sprites felt waay to small. I also hope that costumes have a way of having certain abilities, such as double jumps, melee/projectile attacks, or even the ability to grab and throw enemies like throw kirby, depending on which costume
I have a PS4 and a switch as well, and compared on equal terms the PS4 online is better, but it's also 60$ so that's expected. I still hope (and expect) that you'll need online to upload levels and hope this decreases the amount of bullshit I find in super expert. Needing it to download levels would be a plus just so I can laugh at all the salty poorfag third world trash who can't pay 20$ a year.
More theme exclusive power ups would be great in general. Would add more reason to use a certain style outside of its aesthetics.
Why don't you guys play SMBX if you want these features?
I want to be able to upload a level for playtesting before it goes to the public.
Because SMBX isn't as fun as Mario Maker is
Being able to make level packs or playlists of some kind, some way for a person to play related levels ive made in order.
the nsmb style better be the most versatile
i'm talking penguin suit, super leaf, ice flower, mini mushroom, the goddamn blue shell
i was fucking astounded that the nsmbu style in mario maker 1 didn't have the super acorn
I kinda hope NSMB DS is an option
that the online is free because I'm not paying for Nintendo Shit Online
I always wonder why devs that creates games with implied user-created content never check other games with rich user content.
LBP devs wouldn't check Warcraft 3 editor that has perfect tools and wouldn't add basic actions like kill, teleport, hide, etc.
Mario Maker devs are even more retarded and couldn't check LBP that already prepared everything for them.
>No decent search tools, only shitty website with half-assed attempt, no level hubs/level links/filters
