Sega considers Yakuza a budget series for the west so I expect 3-5 remastered to be bundled together. In other words wait for 5 to release in Japan.
Maybe you should learn to read and speak Japanese if you want to play Japanese games you filthy fat pig.
I suspect they won't even bother giving the remasters a physical release and just dump them onto PSN.
だめだね
That would be disappointing. I sold my PS4 a while ago but would buy another if I could have physical 0/1/2/3/4/5/6 on it.
We didn't even get the Yakuza 1 and 2 remasters for PS3 and Wii U, so you're probably right that they won't bother.
I'm pretty sure we're getting 3 this year unless this
is that the chinese title or something?
That was in the age of not getting the new games localized either, I'd argue circumstances are different now
I'd never need another game, if only because my OCD would have me Platinum ALL THAT SHIT all over again.
Why do so many people want remastered games now? If the original is easily accessible just play that.
We are definitely getting them, I remember saying part of the reason they made them was for the overseas audience. They're already translated anyway, except for the cut content from the PS3 version of 3 so it won't take much effort.
judgement is around the corner so no
maybe very late this year
>easily accessible
>on ps3
>shit framerate
>terrible localization
Maybe you should have just said you're an underage newfag who's first console was a PS4 and you've never even played the game before.
i have a ps1 2 and 4 so maybe i'm biased yes
Biased? Nah, you're just a faggot.
>terrible localization
Only Y3, you're a moron
haha! Yeah! I mean, if you can just play games on console why bother buying them on PC? Its the same experince haha!
sorry i can't help liking cock
considering they sold more copies worldwide than in japan and the new push to PC, it's a guarantee that they will at least be putting 345 out on PS4 in the west, i suspect we will also see them on PC eventually.
Sega just sucks at telling its fans anything. they don't build hype they just shit out a game randomly. Idk if that's a good thing or a bad thing, but I believe it will happen regardless.
Too be fair most stuff on PS3 and 360 looks like complete trash. I mean i can play PC stuff from the 90's and early 00s or PS1/2 titles and know that the graphics are bad but have certain charm to them. Meanwhile most PS3/360 stuff just looks like shite versions of what we currently see in games.
have a*
Yeah you might be right but I don't think they'll put out physical copies unless they bundle them all together.
Btw I got the PS3 remaster way back when it was released in japan and in Yakuza 1 they changed the first Majima a bit by making the baseball launcher machines active during the fight. I'm 98% sure in the original game those weren't part of the fight. Anyway I'm wondering if they localized these outside of japan if they're gonna change any gameplay stuff. (obviously the censored 3 and changed tanimura in 4 but those aren't really gameplay).
Wow, you're still posting huh.
Literally my first post in this thread...
samefag
Nagoshi said they were made for the west. Probably not released yet to avoid fatigue.
3 is physical only so unless you're willing to pirate you're looking at spending over $30 for a used copy. Bringing over the remastered version is justified.
Kenzan and Ishin please for fucks sake
5 PS4 isn't out yet so chances are they're waiting on that to see what they're going to do. A triple pack makes the most sense, they can charge $60 for it, you get a good value, Sega is seen as doing right by its fans, they don't have to stagger releases more to the point that we'll already have the PS5 released before we see Shin, and they still have Shin and NEVER EVER Ishin to smush in there before the PS5.
holy fuck I can almost explode with rage at that sword asshole outside Serena's bar
>can't block his attacks unarmed
>inescapable combo he gets you once
>surrounded by fucking assholes with unblockable weapons
>super armour out the ass when you're mid combo so you're stuck swinging and he'll just combo your ass in return
>can't use any disarms on him
>his attacks fucking track
I feel no shame chugging loads of healing items in this game, these fights are bullshit
>watch interview
>Kiryu VA said Ishin is one of his favorites and everyone should avoid it
Just do it.
new to the series started with 0 on pc, finished kiwami yesterday
is kiwami 2 worth getting on ps4 or should i wait? i'm really liking the series so far but i prefer pc because it's comfier and 60fps
How the fuck is PC comfier?
If you enjoy waiting a year. PC.
You'll potentially be waiting a year to get Kiwami 2 on PC since 6 seems to be next. Depends if you can wait, Yakuza games always target 30 FPS and K2 is 30 FPS.
Are you playing on hard? I'm playing on normal and only had to use 2 staminan royale on him.
Kiwami 2 on PC is a long time away but considering how samey the games are, the wait may be worth it.
Bait
Yeah I'm playing on hard. I figured 0 was way too easy on normal so I'd try this on hard but I swear every mini boss is you against 10 dudes with guns and/or swords in a tiny fucking room. Really makes me miss Majima's pummeling bat
>How the fuck is PC comfier?
i get to go from fucking around on the internet to playing a game instantly, and can alt tab
>Yakuza games always target 30 FPS
0, kiwami, 3, 4, 5 are all 60fps on ps4 though
so i'd really only have to wait for kiwami 2 and 6 once i'm done with everything else
nigga how can it be hard, just like nigga tigerdrop his ass, atack him before he can touch you
Switch the difficulty then. I don't see any reason to play these games on hard, the combat isn't that good. I play it for the cool story and the goofy substories.
>0, kiwami, 3, 4, 5 are all 60fps on ps4 though
and they're all PS3 ports.
>is kiwami 2 worth getting on ps4 or should i wait?
i think no 30fps heat actions is really awful, story is great but comabt and gameplay is nothing special wait for PC if you dont care about waiting
There's a demo for 6 and I think Kiwami 2 on PSN
sure
i'm just saying the whole series except 2 is available at 60fps
oh nice, i'll try that out and see how bad the framerate is
Hopefully the Kenzan fan translation will be done soon at least.
Yes sneaky OP posted a chinese game
yes
Not going to lie. 6 is one of my favorites. I really enjoyed Hiroshima. I wish they would make another game set there.
DELET THIS
>i'm just saying the whole series except 2 is available at 60fps
Well yeah, but again it's not what they target.
6, K2, Judgment, and presumably Shin are all 30 FPS games. 1, 2, Kenzan, 3, 4, Dead Souls, 5, 1 & 2 HD, Ishin, 0, and Kiwami were all at 30 FPS on their original systems, the only game framerate I'm not sure on is Black Panther because it feels like 30 on the streets but 60 in battles. They've only been doing 60 FPS on ports and Fist of the North Star is the only game that released at 60 (Because it was on the PS3 engine).
You're right that you can get them at 60 FPS now but it's not their goal is what I'm trying to say. I mean, we might see the Dragon Engine games at 60 FPS on a PS5, who knows.
3 and 6 are underrated. Okinawa and Hiroshima are comfy as fuck
it's a pity, i wish i wasn't so picky about it but it really does bother me
at least they're starting to put them on pc which is great for preservation and 60fps + graphics scalability in the future
>Judgment
>30fps
oh god no
Mods too, I'm eager to see where the animation mod goes in 0 because they've already got Akiyama and Saejima's styles functioning. Model swaps are also very fun in general.
You expected something different?
>You expected something different?
after fist of the north star? yes
i'm guessing the wait for kiwami to kiwami 2 will be a lot longer than from 0 to kiwami since it's a whole new engine
if they even decide to port it at all
Fist of the North Star was running on the same engine 5, Ishin, Kiwami, and 0 are. It's a PS3 engine and they already knew how to utilize the PS4 to get it to run at 60. Judgment is on the Dragon Engine which already requires a standard PS4 to make concessions to run it and runs at 1080p 30 FPS on a PS4 Pro. There's no way it was ever going to be 60 on PS4.
the Y1&2 HD conversion is mega lazy. I've played it a fair bit
>all the glitches are still there
>game put into widescreen with no regard for what is / is not loaded in. Lots of views out of bounds
>a few key character models were updated but all the generic pedestrians and most of the substory people are blurry triangle heads from the PS2
>heavily compressed FMVs ripped directly off the PS2 disc and upscaled, they all look atrocious
>weird smoothing/sharpening filters applied to certain assets that stand out and look awful
after kiwami 2 and 6 i really dont like dragon engine and this stupid ragdolls, i hope judgment will have less drops then kiwami 2 with heat actions
I imagine it’s taking a while because they might be redoing the English localization for Yakuza 3 since it was bad the first time.
Shintaro Fuuma.
Still better than FUMA OYABUN!!!
>Kage and Fuma are so ingrained into me after five games I have to do a double-take on my typing when speaking about The Florist and Kazama.
Kage sounds cooler than "The Florist" at least.
Is 2 on PS2 good?
I'm one of those "zerobabies" and played Zero and Kiwami. Wondering if I should wait for Kiwami 2 to come out, maybe by 2026 on PC or play Yakuza 2 on PS2.
One of the biggest issues I have with Yakuza 3(and 2 I guess) is that everybody refers to Kiryu as Kiryu in all voice acted scenes but the subtitles say Kazuma. Good thing they fixed that from 4 onward
What did they do to the enemies in Kiwami that makes them so much more annoying to fight compared 0? I can't quite put my finger on it
In my opinion Yakuza 2 is one of the best PS2 games. You don't have to wait for Kiwami 2.
The healing bosses have that require you to style match and have heat, expecially annoying for the final boss as he has Legend aura healing and you're not getting the counter to that until post game.
By the way, do people have that much difficulty with Kiwami because they're choosing hard or do they just suck?
The only fight that really made me try a few times was Majima at the batting cages, before I got good.
You can just interrupt their healing with a weapon heat move
Because Zero was too easy. Kiwami isn't very polished and come fights are poorly balanced but I actually enjoyed it to some degree exactly because Zero had no challenge whatsoever. Things change once you get Tiger Drop though.
K1 and K2 are different enough from their counterparts that they're both worth playing. 2 has Adam, the Marietta, Shinseicho, and Kaoru's good VA while K2 has Four Shine, Majima Construction, new substories, and Majima Saga. You can give 2 a go and then just wait for K2 to come out and play that a year or more later comparing the two. You just need to get used to how much more basic and rough fighting felt in thePS2 games, that's all.
You get knocked down on their second or third hit along with the finishers meaning enemies mid-combo can just throw you into the ground. The only other game that does this is Kenzan because you can have guys mid-combo slashing at you knocking you down and you have guys constantly stabbing you randomly during their attacks.
Oh that shit is easy to counter, even if you're without heat just hit them 3-4 times as brawler, switch to the right stance and climax heat it.
I just really hate the enemies deciding they have infinite poise mid combo and knock you on your ass.
lol fuck niggers
jesus dick that fight was way harder than expected
these two guys just don't ever stop hitting you
>found Y2 PS2 used in very good condition for 13€ new
Only missing 1,4 and Dead Souls physical. Should just order them online.
>kyohei jingu
>because Zero had no challenge whatsoever
climax battles was good and kiwami 2 is even worse then 0
>Removing content from the remastered version of games with removed content
No thanks.
>climax battles
Never bother with those desu. I want challenge in game not some separate side mode.
howaito piggus out
>Going back to 3 after playing the modern games
Why would anybody do this? They're all basically the same fucking game anyway.
Western cover art sucks ass. Should've gone for the Jap versions, they are all styled similar to each other, black and white cover arts
I always find it weird when they have obviously foreign dudes they can all speak japanese
wouldn't at least some of them not be able to speak weeb?
>muh chase battles
lad they're clearly nogs.
Dude, modding is a thing
They'd be stupid not to release a 3-5 set in the west instead. And even then it needs to be an unbutchered version of 3.
>I want challenge in game not some separate side mode.
really check those battles if you want good challenge, they should be in story i agree to get some CP or anything
It's there for those who started with Zero, dumbass.
I don't just collect. I play my games.
>They're all basically the same fucking game anyway.
no
We're still going to end up with more content than the PS3 version when it gets localized. They cut a ton of shit in the localization for time/budget reasons.
There are very few foreign guys who you have no choice but to encounter like Mack, Not Wesker, and Bacchus. Not Wesker clearly can't speak Japanese and I think Mack speaks broken Japanese with English peppered in.
Majima-han, are you even trying?
>They'll mod the missions from a last-gen PS3 exclusive game into the PC version
Ok dude. Just copy&paste the code over.
>tfw west will never ever get authentic yakuza expirience
youtube.com
Wesker in 3 doesn't speak anything but English and it's great. You also have the same guy in Ishin speaking completely fluent Japanese just with an accent because he's obviously not from Japan. The only other foreigners are the Jingweon who only have a couple members that speak fluent Japanese while the rest only speak Korean or really really broken Japanese, the Chinese mafia in 6 who only have Ed and a couple others who can speak proper Japanese, many people in Little Asia in 4 outright require Tanimura to speak Thai or Chinese just to communicate with them, Nair also only speaks I think Chinese, and then you have random Poppo clerks that are Nigerian or white who speak really broken Japanese.
People who started with 0 aren't going to want to go back to the comparatively minimalist 3, idiot. It's not worth playing at the best of times.
It's the most shamelessly rehashed series outside of Musou.
Nice but 5 will feel out of place in your collection because it's japanese
Jingu is a bit of a dick, but I didn't suffer as much.
Yeah, I didn't expect these nigs to be challenging.
The thing with Kiwami is that, as much as I like Zero better, it actually made me learn a bit more about the styles from Zero while upgrading them, along with a much better dragon of dojima which is fucking fun to use if you don't spam fucking tiger drop all the time.
I mean Zero locks away the arguably broken modes behind minigames that you will probably leave for after the game is done. And worst of all, it takes it all away if you do Legendary. I wanted a harder game which made me fully use and exploit all of the styles I have.
>tfw ordering the entire menu
Kiryu sure has a sweet tooth
steamcommunity.
com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1660892640
have fun
>People who started with 0 aren't going to want to go back to the comparatively minimalist 3
People play games in order, dumdum.
>fight the red gang in the club.
>the small one keeps doing the spinning attack whenever i KD him.
fucking nog
I found myself mostly using rush style for bosses because beast is just bad now, you can rarely if ever get a brawler combo in and brawler counters just don't do much, they don't even interrupt a boss combo.
I dont think there's a single person involved with yakuza or sega against that content, hell, you have Pleasure King in 0, it's just from a company pov any whining or backlash needs to be a avoided as it can be very bad and ruin reputation, even if i hate trannies it wouldnt be fair for me to throw them shit for it
I started the series with 0, 2 years ago. I haven't played any of the other games. Ask me anything.
Have you considered playing any other Yakuza games?
Where's the PS2 music mod
on steam also
They don't though.
What the fuck is the point of the Asia free pass if there is only one chick (because the one that's cucking Yuya ain't even showing up)
Did you like 0?
The character isn't even a tranny though.
It sets a terrible fucking precedent where publishers are now responsible for combing through their old games and George Lucas-ing out everything offensive to re-release them. That's abhorrent.
Mack spoke mostly fluent Japanese but he did have English words peppered in like Tom does in Ishin. They just use Katakana to make him seem inexperienced with the language and that he has an accent.
There's also the Portugese guy in Kenzan who can't really speak Japanese (He speaks really really broken Japanese and Musashi has to figure out what the hell he's saying as part of the substory), and then there's the Black Boat guy in Ishin but from what I remember he knew Japanese he just couldn't speak because he had sea sickness.
William in Ishin also speaks Japanese with English words but the English is in hiragana, there's a hilarious scene when you can uncap your level where you have to fight all the masters at once at Komaki's Dojo (Komaki, Ginryu, and William) and when William walks into the dojo wearing boots Komaki immediately reprimands him telling him to take off his shoes when entering the dojo, and William tells him they're not shoes, they're ぶーつ (Boots) which Komaki doesn't understand so he just shrugs it off and lets him wear them anyway during the fight.
Do you really want them? They cut content out of 3 and replaced Tanimura in 4.
>They cut content out of 3
Not as much content as they cut from the original localised version
They changed the two big fat guys into two nigs for K2? lmao
that fight is obnoxious
Any way to edit saves in Yakuza 0? Or at least cheat the game into thinking it's set to Legendary difficulty mod?
stop being a shitter
You can use cheat engine to change the difficulty
Situational sidequests on the map are more important than mahjong, a quiz game and hostesses desu. It's basically the meat of the game even if those ones weren't remarkable.
That's K1, there's a substory about a kid with appendicitis.
I wrote up how , it just involves Cheat Engine to swap around the difficulties until you find the address.
He's a dude that tells you he's a girl, so i imagine that counts as tranny, i dont like it being removedb either but i at least understand their fear from backlash
>let's lock Kiryu in a room with 10 guys
>and the room is so small you can't do your beast AoE heat move
>and some of them have knives to stunlock you
You can stop the healing with any heat move
Many thanks.
There’s still cut content in 3 and 4, based retards. Not to mention the DLC outfits like the wrestling costumes.
Considered it but havent actually bothered yet.
Yes. I thought it was great.
Play the rest of the series then, all of the games are good. 2 is as good as 0
>Chinese version turns it into communist
Richardson speaks Japanese and English in Ryu Ga Gotoku Online
Original 2? Does it emulate well? I do have a PS2, but I'd rather just, you know.
Was Wesker fooling us during all of 3?
Hey moose, are you by any chance white? I love your comments and your love for the yakuza series btw, keep it up buddy.
Kiwami 2 and 2 are equally great. The original does emulate well if you don't have a potato PC and know how to properly set up your emulator
It's not exactly good Japanese
You can set a character to appear on the main menu and they say some lines when you tap on them
So far I've had Richardson say
>What!? Oh, it's you.
>Doushimashita. (in really poorly accented Japanese)
>You! Dare ka ni, suke raretenaika
I am not very good at Japanese, so I'm not sure if the Japanese bids are correct though
Yeah, no problems with emulation. I guess I could play it and play K2 whenever it decides to come out on PC (or if I grab a PS4, I guess). I wanted more Majima, but eh.
ps2 kiryu just doesn't look like kiryu to me
yes i'm a 0baby
Why did they lock weapons and armor behind minigames in Kiwami? In 0 you can use D&T but now I have to win and do good at certain minigames to get equipment that I need to get 100% completion.
there's 2 weapon shops though?
regardless of difficulty, kiwami is harder than 0
100% is not worth it. I even hated maxing out DoD because of the pocket circuit shit.
How the fuck do I fight right in kiwami? The yellow fighting style seems a bit shit and the dragon one requires a fuck ton of grinding
The original has better atmosphere. Also my favorite Yakuza 2 location was cut in Kiwami 2.
>I wanted more Majima
youtube.com
Just watch this
PS2 Kiryu looks great, it's a shame they switched over to making him look more like his VA. It would have been better if he slowly began looking more like his VA in the later games to show his age since PS2 Kiryu looked like in his late 20's/early 30's at best.
It's what they've been doing for years. T&D was the exception, you usually have to either do minigames or farm the Coliseum to get weapons and armor/accessories. One example is to get the best umbrella to use in Kenzan you had to beat the kabuki minigame above 3 Ryo I think it was. There's also the weapon store in Beam, the guy in West Park, you can buy some weapons at Ebisu, and then win some from the casino or the Coliseum so it's not all minigame locked.
rush, dodge a lot and keep doing the same combo over and over.
a lot of stuff is still locked behind minigames regardless
Early game = Rush mode
Midgame = Rush/Brawler
Late game = Upgraded beast mode, maybe fucking try to get some DoD skills goddamn
Beast feels so fucking bad to use in kiwami. It's just lacking oomph and you get stunlocked constantly
Still top tier if you can find a few bikes around though
Also, if you see a boss charging up, switch to the color of the style that matches his aura and if you have enough heat, press triangle. Do it quick so he doesn't restore more health than needed.
You can get 4 and 5 on psn and 3 is the worst game in the series.
They also completely replace one of the main characters in 4, why would you want to play any of the remasters?
It has its uses
>bikini bar majima
>tables and chairs everywhere
>immediately change into beast
>mfw
To be fair at some point in the game, with bear hugging and shit, I was beasting good. The game made me learn how to fucking use it properly. On Zero I had skills I never used because there's literally no fucking need.
Fuck.
kiwami is just harder in general compared to 0
filtered, fuck off namefag
Early game is Rush or Brawler. Rush because it'll give you the mobility you need and decent combos at that point, Brawler because it'll give you the damage and defense you need.
Mid game is Brawler because of the damage and mobility. Rush starts doing far less damage, you start needing to block way more, and you'll need to be using street weapons to clear out groups.
End game is DoD and only DoD. If you didn't bother with DoD then it's Brawler with Beast mixed in when you're near two-handed weapons since you can instantly swap to Beast from a sway or an attack and then back to Brawler.
Some people also like using Rush but I just didn't like it in Kiwami and found it knocked enemies away way more than usual. Beast has to be used different compared to 0, it's much more of a style you switch into to pick up items to hit enemies with now, you don't really use it to fight because you don't have super armor when you have Heat anymore.
The Yakuza games aren't really all that good to be honest.
t. played some
Beast mode in 0 felt so fucking powerful
>slowly stomp your way over to whoever needs some VITAMIN WHEELCHAIR
>stomp their face in
>throw a ramen sign on their body and jump on it
>tank boss hits while punching no problem
>punch out entire groups in one go
I didn't like style switching. I really prefer one character - one style system. It allows you to completely master your moveset and define characters better. In Zero I could buy a move and forget about it because I didn't have a reason to use that certain style in recent encounters. After full upgrade I never felt like any of the styles actually evolved into something new, I still just used bat nunchaku like in the beginning.
I think 4 is still the best in combat aspect. Each character had unique and defined playstyle and it was fun to learn new ways to play. 5 was a bit too bloated and poorly balanced sometimes. Zero is more casual.
smacking the fuck out of people with a motorcycle was one of my favorite things to do in 0
in subsequent games you can't do it with a motorcycle but at least you can do it with a bike
You can do it as Saejima though.
You can do it in 4, 5, 6, and K2. Saejima even rips out stop signs from the ground that one-shot enemies on EX Hard in 5, Kiryu needs to activate his Devil Trigger in order to do it.
Kiryu's a fucking a dick
Yea I remember being able to do it if you activate heat but I don't remember being able to do it much in the others.
I did look for more mook fights in 0 though so maybe it's just sample size.
just watched some gameplay of kiwami 2 and unironically the best thing about the ps4 engine is that you can just walk in stores
I just installed 0 and tried to play the game, but it's impossible. The cutscenes are freezing like crazy. Anyone knows a solution for this?
Majima had a hard life.
dragon engine does have some nice stuff like that but you do lose out on some other stuff. it is much better in K2 than it is in 6 though. Judge eyes and shin are using it right? Do we know how it handles in judge?
Skip them and then watch them on youtube? I don't really know sorry.
Fuck around with the graphic settings, especially fullscreen mode because that shit is buggy as fuck.
>game is stuttering and lagging on fullscreen borderless
>game is running at 240 fps on fullscreen exclusive
This Majima everywhere gig must suck for Majima every now and then
The earlier games just let you pick up bikes. Starting from 4 Saejima could do it if you got the upgrade for it in one of his trees and didn't require anything special to pick stuff up and I think Kiryu learned it if you fought Saejima in IF7-R. In 5 you needed the training to do it from the Mountain God as Saejima, I can't remember if Kiryu got it from an upgrade or it was just in Ultimate Heat. In 6 and K2 you need to be in Ultimate Heat to throw stuff like benches and motorcycles around.
>Do we know how it handles in judge?
It's a bit tighter than in 6 and K2. Movement feels a bit better, attacking in general feels a lot better due to the various things you can do like leaping over enemies, sliding under them, running on walls briefly, and the styles attack faster than the other two games. The best part is the enemies don't block as much as in the other DE games and they switched back to mostly using the old blocking system but with the new blocking system rearing its ugly head when fighting certain types of mooks and bosses.
You kidding? Read his dialogue, getting his ass kicked by Kiryu gives him a massive hard on.
>Lapped
What happened to you, PCF?
I might have gotten the upgrade for saejima but I didn't really max anything out outside of 0, would explain why i never saw it much afterwards.
Wait until you see him in 6. It's not very pretty.
Yakuza 3 had a fuckload of cut content on PS3 for whatever reason. A remaster would solve that with better framerate to boot.
this. who the fuck even uses kiryu's 2nd style? everything about it just makes kiryu out of character
was rush the 2nd style? I feel like that's the only one 'out of character' for him
Dunno if i should wait if 5 gets a disc release in the west or just import the ps3 copy, looking at my yakuza collection where it jumps from 4 to 6 fucks with my OCD
1. Find yourself a high priority registry fix available on the steam forums
2. Do not use SSAA
3. Cap framerate to 60 in the video config file
4. Switch to audio mode 1 in the audio config file
See if that helps. Even though the game weirdly has a high framerate cap, you should set it lower, or you're getting a buggy experience. It's one of those japanese games after all. I managed to play it on integrated graphics at 30fps, so it shouldn't be that much of a problem.
>for whatever reason
The localization company that was handling it at the time really half-assed everything and Sega didn't care either. They cut shogi and mahjong despite 2 having mahjong and even two substories tied to it, they cut the hostess clubs despite 1 and 2 having it, several substories relied on teaching people English and I guess they didn't understand how they would get across teaching English in English (When 5's localizers did it perfectly fine and just redid the substory using French I think it was for the one question they asked), Answer x Answer relied on Japanese history and pop culture at the time it was made in but they also localized it fine in 5 with Haruka by just making the questions about Sotenbori instead, and there's just a whole lot of other stuff cut.
They even made it so some of the content was pre-order only and if you didn't you could never get it again, I think one guy said it was a bunch of Premium Adventure costumes, the tournament mode that let you fight exclusive bosses, and a bunch of other stuff.
>worst
>Mine is in it
>Wesker is in it
>you fight an entire swat army in the hospital
You mean BEST
It's coming. just wait
The Answer X Answer thing was removed from the 3 Remaster
I don't know why people give a shit about mine, though wesker is good yea.
The fag they have kiryu cry over is in the game too though, I can't remember his name but I think he had a snake tattoo.
I understand your painunless you mean the kiwami version in that case get good lmao
In the second game he comes back but has a badass theme.
>I don't know why people give a shit about mine
>Is an actual threat and attacks Kiryu where it hurts him the most.
>Gives Haruka a scene where you root for her.
>Doesn't mess around and kills people close to him when they mess up (Like the fat guy)
>The first time in the series they actually did a dynamic intro for a fight.
>THAT KICK IN THE DYNAMIC INTRO YES HOLY SHIT
>Fly is one of the best boss themes and transitions into the fight perfectly.
>Has a really good fight in general.
I mean, his motivation of wanting to love Daigo forever was a bit out there, but he still ended up being a pretty good antagonist overall. Ryuji's more or less the only other guy to antagonize Kiryu and the people close to him that much.
The DLCs are there, just not on PSN you dumb retard, one of the DLC packs each for Y3 and Y4 was exclusive to Best Buy and Collector's Edition, only the 2nd one is on PS Store.
None of the DLC was cut.
And in Y4 the only things cut are Answer x Answer (which is impossible to do unless you were born and raised in Japan) and the licensed music.
His intro was certainly good, and his fight was decent. The dynamic intros were definitely my favorite part of the bosses in 0.
I've just always sort of disliked the "I'm secretly the big villain but I pretend to just be a dick" trope. Why can't they just have an antagonistic character that is simply just a dumb dick instead of an evil mastermind.
Then there's also the yakuza trend of "this guy in a trim suit is secretly fucking ripped", and yea his motivation is pretty dumb.
He's better than 5 and 6's final boss, at least.
>dump them onto PSN
pls God no, I need a 5 physical release
I honestly have given up on make the cutscenes work. The game itself works fine, but the cutscenes keep freezing. I guess I'll have to get it for the ps4 then. Thanks for the tips btw.
i did that shit for a minute solid just fucking blown away that there were no loading screens
in and out, in and out
It was also fun to just jump off of railings/roofs for a few minutes.
I wanna play this series but don't wanna go through all the other games. Can I still play the newest game yakuza 6?
play 0
great starting point, fairly recent, and one of the best games in the series
youtube.com
Why wasn't he the final boss when he has the best boss theme in the series.
だめよ だめなのよ
3 isn't even worth playing. It adds NOTHING to the series. All you need to know is "Kiryu runs an orphanage" and you're good
Just finished Kiwami 1can someone spoil me the rest of Kiryu-chan's story up to the last game?
also what happens to Goro-kun and daughter-chan?
>-chan
Kill yourself weeb faggot
When you read a book series do you start with the last entry? When you watch a TV show do you start with the last season?
Majima is still a crazy bastard and mostly a comic relief character. Haruka grows up, becomes an idol and then settles with a chink and they have a baby
Start with 0, it's the (second) most recent game, the first chronolgically, and the best in the series overall.
6 is probably like the second worst overall.
>Caring about DLC costumes
Play 0.
Sorry meant for
Majima splits between yandere stalker and "too old for this shit"-style grumblings, he's currently pretty much the only "real" power dojima has outside of kiryu the one man army.
Haruka grows up, starts taking care of the children at the orphanage she and kiryu came from. A few years later she starts an idol career but kiryu infected her with his HONOR autism and so she quits after her first gig, runs away, gets fucked by some scrawny chink and pops out a baby.
okay thanks
and if you were asking for kiryu specifically, he fakes his death at the end of 6 after saving haruka's child so that they'll stop fucking bothering him with yakuza shit.
it'll take some time to adjust the contents for western values
Daugher-chan will be raped in one of the later games.
I really like this image
>RAAAWR! I WANNA BE A DRAGON CAUSE I GOT A TATTOO
>NO! WE FIGHT NOW WITH BULLET HOLES AND I WANNA BANG YOUR SISTER
>Good fight. I guess its time to retire and get some kids
>WE WANT YOUR LAND SO GET OFF OF IT
>NO
>CIA WANTS YOUR LAND
>ILL BEAT THEM TOO
>glad thats over.
>THERES A TIGER WHO ESCAPED FROM JAIL
>WANNA BANG KIRYUS KID FOR LIKE ALL OF 3 SECONDS
>I WAS POOR AND NOW IM RICH AND LAZY
>im a corrupt cop who likes to play mojong
>WE FIGHT ON ROOFS AND FUCK THAT BOSS FIGHT WITH THE COPS
>UNCLE! I WANNA BE A STAAAAR
>ok, ill go drive a taxi while majimas wife hooks you up
>DDR WITH MAGICAL GIRL TRANSFORMATIONS
>BASEBALL SHIT HAPPENS
>A TIGER ESCAPES FROM PRISON. AGAIN.
>ITS NOW TIME TO PLAY YAKUZA: ORGAN TRAIL HUNTING SIMULATOR
>ITS NOW TIME TO PLAY YAKUZA: FPS SNOWBALL FIGHT
>TIME FOR ANOTHER MEGA FIGHT
>MY DADDY IS THE DRAGON OF DOJIMA AND IM RETIRING
and then 6 starts with her having a baby.
hope this helped.
Nice "game" you got there, I will be "playing" it as well here:
>>WE FIGHT ON ROOFS AND FUCK THAT BOSS FIGHT WITH THE COPS
this is definitely one of the highest points in the series for me and it's a shame that no one else seems toa gree
everyone complained about 0 being too easy
its DMC3 america all over again
Yakuza is the only series I know of that is both a great movie and a great game.
Did he say "west" or did he say "overseas fans"? because if he said the latter there's a good chance he meant China and not the west
It's because progression takes longer and Dragon style is fucking worthless until you finish Kowami's training.
They're intentionally directed to speak broken jap despite being able to speak normally, it's part of the stereotype.
Mine is a great turboautist who shouldn't have died in my opinion
he was disappointing in Ishin though
because after unlocking the tiger drop in kiwami i literaly NEVER used any of the other styles again
dragon style is SO MUCH BETTER holy shit just need my fucking spin kick and hammer fist and were done
>playing Kiwami
>all those agressive enemies
>all those annoying bosses
>all those fucking coliseum opponents
>mfw I got Tiger Drop
Dragon of the people is such a fucking good title. why didnt they released like that?
>get tiger drop
>majima battles instantly become a joke
who designed this move holy shit
Well, with Mine it was kind of blatant he was bigger than he was acting, particularly with how they kept showing him working out and doing all the underhanded deals. Then once he starts threatening Kiryu you know he's going to be the one you fight at the end. It's not like Iwami who looks nothing like a final boss just as a very simple example. Man is he such an awful way to end Kiryu's saga and his motivations are laughably bad with the whole "Waaaa, daddy won't let me murder a bunch of people and put my family in danger when he's spent his life helping me to avoid that life so I can jerk myself off to being part of the underground mob".
Because Munakata is somehow worse than Jingu even if you have the full Sacred Tree Armor set equipped to Tanimura (Though he actually felt like someone you should hate story-wise so they did well there), Kido feels like he's just shoved in there to give Saejima someone to fight and only really becomes a threat minutes before you get to the roof in the first place, Daigo is only really built up to be making really dumb choices in the final chapter so you don't really feel the need to go beat him up as much as they tell you you need to, and Arai is the only one that actually feels somewhat developed as a final boss. He's the only one I cared to fight to be honest.
>the coliseum in general prior to the knockout ring
>mfw that FUCKING GUY WITH THE HORNS SHOWS UP WITH HIS 800 MILLION DAMAGE POKES
I like this series for what it is but it's absolutely true, a lot of the story beats each time are the same. If it wasn't for Ichiban apparently being a reverse-Kiryu I think I might've just dropped the series moving forwards (granted I have my doubts about how different SRGG will actually be)
Kowami
There's a reason you don't get it until the end. It's meant to be the only way to beat Amon.
i finished the story on kiwami but didn't do much side content because the sub stories were shit and everything else was the same as 0 (which i played a ton)
i kinda want to go back and get the tiger drop now though
The true game lies in Mesuking.
Why does Kiwami have absolutely no arcade games other than MesuKing? MesuKing is fucking boring.
The fight's motivations and characters aren't the strongest in the series yea but the whole scene beforehand of them together as a group and then them dropping down on the money rain with a helicopter.
youtu.be
I don't know did but I want to shake their hand, I was getting real goddamn sick of breaker majima.
>not in babysitting haruka
Seems weird to have the major mini game be something aimed at little kids in universe. Even pocket racing was established as an all ages thing.
That fucker was annoying as hell. I got some cheesy tactic against him with rush style but he still killed me from time to time. What a fucking bullshit.
you can't emulate 2005 arcade games in a 2005 game
they're not in kiwami because they were lazy i guess
majima dies in yakuza 5 because his idol ex wife had an abortion
dude backflip on you while you're down for a quarter of your health lmao
I didn't realize the name was literal in 0 and K1 so when I got to that part in K2 i got pretty excited.
I like how this is the only remotely yakuza thing Kiryu does in the whole series.
>Majima's bat's attacks have superarmor
>you can Tiger Drop each hit
>Enter the arcade for the first time
>Oh shit, Virtua Fighter! Let's--
Yeah it's like they didn't want you to have fun. The moment I unlocked super hang on in zero my dick was so hard
The part before that is definitely great, don't get me wrong, and it's equally as great when they do it again in 6, it's just that two of the four bosses don't really feel like they should be bosses at all.
I was so disappointed when I tried to go up to the Virtua Fighter arcade but it doesn't do jack shit
i had 1 bottle of milk and 3 sushi sets in that fight
it was probably one of the hardest things i ever managed to acomplish
I hope he has something along the lines of Hana or Takasugi as his main humanising interaction and not something annoying like later-series Haruka or Zero's Nishiki again
It was kind of cool in 6 but in 6 it's 1/3 people you care about and 2/3 you probably only barely care about, if at all.
I didn't really hate them, I felt they were a better version of the snake guy from 3, but I still didn't think they were the greatest.
I had some trouble with them too, since I wasn't really kitted up on anyone.
He's really not too bad with Brawler, just keep your distance and wait for him to attack before going in, a full combo does a bunch of damage and knocks him down.
is that fucking akiyama?
i thought he became a bum again
The dude at the sega arcade is the devil.
>do the substory with the sugardaddy faggot that is trying to get crane game toys
>"i need the entire woo family"
>are you fucking kidding me
>look at the crane game
>monkeys and birds
>hey counter dude, change the prizes
>right away sir!
>look at the crane game
>smaller birds and big monkeys
>change the prizes
>all birds
>change the prizes
>only blue woo-kun, nothing else
He was real?
you think wuu is hard
good luck trying to get the big squirel
Is it just me or do the crane games get much, much harder as the series goes along (at least chronologically).
In 0 I could get pretty much everything on my first or second try, then in K1 it's slightly harder, then it just keeps getting worse.
I don't know how I managed to get that miku that some kid wanted in the game where you have to put a tiny rod inside a hole.
For me it was more 2/3rds you care about and 1/3rd you're just so-so about. Akiyama, Nagumo, and Kiryu are great, and Yuta actually ended up being someone I liked once Kiryu whipped him into being a responsible adult, model ship guy was alright, the only one I didn't care for was the other guy whose name I can't even remember.
He's only a bum in 6 because of the Chinese Triads hunting him down, Sky Finance technically is just temporarily shut down and Hana is on a vacation because of it, Akiyama didn't lose any of his money or Sky Finance in Kamurocho and Sotenbori. This is told to you when you first meet him in 6.
play mahjong instead
I did the entire substory. Halfway through I learned that I could position Kiryu in such a way that I could look at the crane game while talking to the dude, so I would immediately know if he fucked up or not. I had to ask him like 8 times until he decided to put up the fucking squirrel.
The camera is a mess in the arcade.
i laughed my ass off when i found out he was real
i could feel he was a reference to something for some reason but didn't think he'd be a real dude 1:1
i didnt actualy played 6 yet
games i didnt played
>3,zombie,6,dragon of the north star
Was I the only one expecting a playable Nishkiyama mode? Guess that's what I get for going in blind after playing 0. His blue super aura moves just made me more curious.
that sucks. i only want 3 because its ps3 release was physical only and kind of botched, so i never played it
Yeah he seemed like he was referencing something super specific but I felt like there was some cultural thing I wasn't picking up on. He's even voiced by him too.
Haruka's dad was probably the one i cared about the most for mostly obvious reasons, and then the walking chad chin mostly just because of his jaw.
I can't remember if the other 2 had any significant character traits. Left of kiryu is the guy you fight at the start right?
The beginning of his substory is hilarious.
Only somewhat. 1-4 you can more or less grab them the exact same way (Just aim slightly below the head), with 5 onward it's physics based so you have to aim for dead center more or less and just hope you don't lose grip strength. The rod ones are absolutely evil.
Kiryu's left is Nagumo, yeah. He's the guy you keep fighting through all of 6 and is the hard-headed lovable idiot of the crew.
>He's the guy you keep fighting through all of 6 and is the hard-headed lovable idiot of the crew.
Yea that was pretty much my opinion of him too.
I thought it was funny that the baseball game was a microcosm of the series with "No! You can't sacrifice yourself in baseball! It's me you want!"
Is this the most powerful scene in the series?
Lots of people were saying this before Kiwami was released. Would've been a bit tricky to position within the narrative but I do reckon that if Kiwami was a "full game" and not just a quick cash grab we would've at least gotten playable Nishiki chapters or something, he had parts of a distinct movelist in place already (you could even give him his Ishin moves when he's using a sword)
Was personally hoping for a Ryuji mode in Kiwami 2 instead.
I really wanted to like Yuta but I just never could, his role in the plot had nothing to do with that either. Just did not give a shit about him for some reason. Nagumo becomes a top tier bro though and is plays off of Kiryu's type of character nicely as well.
I honestly noticed none of that. Not even the character updates. It was way more consistent experience than when I tried emulating those games.
Also this might be some prior version difference stuff but the first time you fight majima I don't remember the baseball machines shooting baseballs during the fight.
I didn't care much for him at the start, he was just such an asshole and a self-absorbed prick to Kiryu when Nagumo very quickly warmed up to Kiryu, but then when you head to Kamurocho the first time he started growing on me because he takes in some of the life lessons, and then when they finally get the story going a lot of what Kiryu does really shaped Yuta up into a better person. I was honestly quite happy to see him with Haruka at the end raising Haruto. It felt like he was up to the task after making so many mistakes during 6.
It just seemed like so many of his cutscenes were about to transition to actual game, so when it jumped back to Kiryu I was suprised every time.
I finished Kiwami yesterday with every style fully upgraded.
-I felt money was pretty useless unlike in Zero, and you can easily max out the amount of unspent EXP after having upgraded the 3 alternative styles
-Majima... was a mix between annoying and excellent. I didn't find him as annoying when it came to encounters, since at some point I was able to consistently beat him without having much trouble. It was more annoying to do some minigames. I also somehow didn't receive that many emails, I don't know if the game glitched out.
-The substories... many of them are way more simplistic than in Zero. They put no effort in them. There were some interesting ones, but just a few. I found weird that some were done with Haruka, and they were voice acted.
-The story itself, although I like it, I just cannot like it as much as Zero either. I guess they didn't expand on it, I've seen some cutscenes from the original and it seems to be the same exact thing with changed graphics.
-Too many fucking board games.
-Dragon of Dojima felt more fun to use than any other style in this -and- Zero. Hard to upgrade though.
-The stunlocking in this motherfucker is crazy and it made me a bit angry at times.
-It felt jankier at times, with floating objects at the start of some fights, some scenes going straight into others without much of a transition, kinda cheap in a technical level. Almost made me feel like Zero was developed after, and not before this.
-I don't know if this is intentional, but if we were to grab some scenes from it and rearrange them in a different order, we kinda get Zero. There's odd parallels when it comes to specific scenes. You have the girl that fucks off whenever she wants. You have the big boat. The car chase. Maybe it doesn't help some maps are the exact same.
Money is pretty useless in games compared to 0, was kind of disappointed about that.
I think like K2 and 6 it kind of mattered because of stat grinding
I agree with a lot of this, but I think another thing was a huge letdown was the music. Every track in zero was a fucking banger, this had maybe 4 really good songs. No style-specific battle themes was also a really big letdown.
>There's odd parallels when it comes to specific scenes.
It's more that this series as a whole repeats itself a lot with Kiryu's story.
>budget series
1, 2, 3, 4, Dead Souls, 6 and Kiwami 2 were sold at full price, only 5, 0 and Kiwami 1 were sold on a budget price, mostly because Dead Souls almost killed the franchise in the west.
Kiryu is more boring than based majima
Baseball machines throwing balls is 1 & 2 HD exclusive. Not even Kiwami does it for some reason. it definitely made the fight more unique and could knock Majima out of some attacks if you set it up right. You also had save booths having item boxes which makes things so much more enjoyable because it's pretty rough having to run back to Serena or West Park every time you need to deposit stuff.
>many of them are way more simplistic than in Zero. They put no effort in them.
Keep in mind this is the first game. What you're expecting substory-wise wasn't even put into play until around Kenzan and even that had filler, and it took until around 3 or 4 to finally get into the rhythm of what the newer games have when it comes to quality and hilarity. You still have some here and there but that's what to expect in general for a decent while.
>I guess they didn't expand on it
Every single Nishiki scene at the start of chapters is brand new, the substory explaining why Sera hired a guy to kill Kiryu in prison is new, the entire opening 30 minutes where you get the ring for Yuki is new, and the entire bit where Majima calls you over to the pier to chat is new. If you want to understand how much development Nishiki got in the original pretend the first cutscene in the game before the Dojima stuff never happened and then pretend every single cutscene with Nishiki at the start of each chapter never happened. That's how much he was in the game originally, it was like four or five times at most and why he was one of the worst antagonists.
>Dragon of Dojima felt more fun to use than any other style in this -and- Zero
Well yeah, it's his original style and his style going forward. Beast, Rush, and Brawler are just bits of DoD's fighting philosophy taken and turned into styles.
I think the marketing for "majima everywhere" was really overblown. The faggot fucks off to god knows where every couple of fights unless you're far enough into the story.
The only time I got to fight Majima between chapters 6,7 and 8 was the story fight. He just stands at the entrance to west park and keeps smoking, before and after kidnapping Haruka.
>the entire opening 30 minutes where you get the ring for Yuki is new
Well... that's not necessarily a good thing. But I agree with the Nishiki scenes.
It mainly gives Shinji a couple more scenes and the point of it is to show Nishiki hates how Kiryu gets more attention from Yumi than he does. Notice how during the scene she just thanks Nishiki for his expensive gift and when Kiryu gives her the ring she's ecstatic, then you can see Nishiki in the background not saying a word and very dejected as Reina's trying to chat him up. You can see the cracks forming at that point.
>kiwami 2 is 50€
god damn, does it have more content than kiwami 1?
cause that's a bit pricey for a 25 hour game
Do you ignore everything in the game that's not the main story?
Yep, it's definitely longer than Kiwami by at least 20 or so hours, maybe a bit more than that.
does kiwami 2 not feel like just an expansion pack like kiwami 1 did to zero?
Am I the only one who find Judgement boring looking? I saw Kamorucho now 10 times and in one of them completely destroyed (Dead Souls), I have enough from the same looking environments.
only in kiwami
i just checked and i have 70 hours in 0
i didn't do much side content in kiwami because it was all the same as 0, and the substories were bad
i went to the cabaret clubs quite a bit, finished the gay girl's story thing
New engine with just the DoD style so more like an expansion pack of 6.
>in one of them completely destroyed (Dead Souls)
Judgement also has an arcade game based on Dead Souls
Yea if you play them all in a row things start to get samey, that's what happens when you play over a decade's worth of a series in one shot.
In terms of content it makes 6 feel like an expansion pack of K2 instead
I dig the new restaurants, Theater Square having this entire lighted inflatable display setup, and a bunch of newly accessible buildings. It also has the disguise system and the drone to fly around with so it's a nice change. I'd still like something more drastic like what 4 did but they're probably saving that for Shin if I had to guess.
When it comes to Kamurocho you have to appreciate the little changes in it, it just sucks Judgment wasn't set somewhere else though because a change of pace would be great, it really makes Kenzan and Ishin much more unique.
It's more like an improvement over what 6 brought to the table. Doesn't feel like an expansion pack at all. Kiwami 1's the only game that really has that feeling.
Help me get into this series, the biggest turn off for me is the combat, are the styles supposed to be a rock paper scissor system? A lot of the time bosses are annoying as hell, especially with super armors
the last thing I need for the Platinum is to beat the chase scene in Super Hard. I can do Mahjong tricks all day long and beat all the Climax battles easy, but that fucking chase scene man.
>pocket circuit testing music in kiwami
2 is basically where the series started being good. Problem is that only 0 matches 2s quality in terms of writing. And Goda is the best antagonist in the entire franchise.
>are the styles supposed to be a rock paper scissor system
Nope, it's more about choosing what fits the situation. Rush is more for when you feel like dodging more or doing hit-and-run tactics with quick attacks. Brawler is more for general fighting since it has decent damage, defense, the ability to block, and the ability to pick weapons up. Beast is meant to be for AoE more or less, you use it to pick up bikes, motorcycles, electric substations, anything else that's two-handed, and then go to town on enemies because it deals more damage than the other styles but it's slow and has to tank attacks instead of block them. Dragon is the final style, it's meant to cover every base, it deals way more damage than the rest, it's fast, it has Tiger Drop, and a whole host of other ridiculous buffs.
When it comes to Yakuza it's more about how you want to make the fights fun. Do you feel like just mowing down all the enemies? Go to town with a bike. Do you feel like systematically taking them down one-by-one with Heat actions? Go Brawler and get creative. Do you want to cheese? Go Dragon and Tiger Drop everything. Do you just want to mess around? Mess around.
Ultimately you have to play on the hardest mode and put a lot of limitations on yourself (No 2 handed weapons, no equiped weapons, no Tiger Drop, no healing, no Ultimate heat, etc) if you want to make it be a difficult experience. It's usually more about unwinding and messing around in the fights which is why the Heat actions are always so brutal or require ridiculous circumstances like the chopsticks one or the swing one.
i want a true next gen yakuza where EVERY single building that is a store is explorable
I remember that fucking Dead Souls out of all games was a eternity in every electronic shop in Germany. I saw that fucking game for 40 bucks until 2017 in shops and never saw someone buy a copy of it.
Just use Rush for EVERYTHING until you get Tiger Drop, as soon as you can get TD. Also focus on upgrading damage.
You'll probably have to wait through another 2/3 crossgen games first.
This is nothing but a PR excuse to explain why they had to censor the games for China. The Chinese love Yakuza and Sega has started to pander towards them incredibly hard with 6 and wanna keep getting that ching chong cash.
Thank you.
your power is seriously gimped compared to Y0. if you really went nuts on making cash, by the half way point of the game you could wreck just about anyone with a random jab in almost any style, even on hard.
Kiwami you are seriously weak compared to that and the only thing they give you for compensation is the tiger drop and the chop counter, which are annoying to time on mobs. also, lots of randoms have weapons and love to knock you down and do combo breaks on you. making the fights more tedious. they also tend to surround you which makes it far more difficult to actually get a good combo off and every hit takes a good chunk of your heat down making heat actions a chore.
Neat thanks anons
>muh mods
Very few games actually have great mod support really fucking sick of you faggots always acting like any PC game is gonna be on the level of Doom or Oblivion. At best if 3 makes it on PC we'll get a music restoration patch and model swaps.
Biggest issue is that the bosses don't have a redone moveset based around the styles you're going to be using while also locking out the one they were designed around behind Majima is Everywhere.
I havent played them all. But yes
The one game I want to play the most is Ishin. Could I play that with super basic japanese language knowledge?
if you have 200 hours to spare
play through it and look up any words / kanji you don't know
fun and educational
You only need Japanese knowledge if you want to Google for Japanese guides or actually understand it
khhsubs.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
Use the first Youtube link until it's done, then use the second Youtube link for the rest of the chapters. You'll need to refer to his text guide to understand the in-between events or use Salty Yen's video playthrough.
There's also one or two other English guides out there if you need to cross-reference between stuff, but overall KHH's guides will easily get you through both Kenzan and Ishin no problem, I can personally attest to it. You just need ThePatrick's Kenzan guide and some Japanese guides if you want to 100% Kenzan, Ishin only needs Japanese guides for cross-referencing and even then you can make do without them.
is there any possible chance that sega will localize this?
We've had them teasing it since 5, and every single survey since 0 has asked if we wanted it (With one of the recent ones asking if we'd want Kenzan as well) but it's been like two or three years of them asking about us wanting it now and we still don't have it. The joke answer is NEVER EVER, the reality is "Maybe but don't hold out hope".
sega doesn't want free money
>look up 当店 because i know the kanji but not the word
>it means "this shop"
>there's a specific single word that means this shop
ok why is this language retarded
How shit will Yakuza 3 feel going straight from Kiwami 2.
I’ve marathoned from Zero to Kiwami 2 this year and somehow I’m still not sick of Kiryu or running around Kamurocho.
Digging out and Hooking up my PS3 is gonna be a pain...
Just skip Y3 user, it was the reason I dropped the series back in the day, don't ruin it for yourself. It's just boring and shit
There's going to be some adjusting and you'll feel a bit stiffer, but the only real hurdle to overcome is dealing with enemies blocking all the time. If you're doing it on the PS3 then expect some fuzziness over everything. Recorded this for a guy yesterday who asked the same thing.
i'm just waiting for kiwami 2 and 6 to get ported to pc
they're coming, right?
6 is confirmed for PC so yeah Kiwami 2 will
is there an actual source for this besides a leaked esrb rating?
Thanks anons, it might be a bit of an adjustment but I’ll give it a whirl. I would skip 3 if I could because 4 and 5 look way more interesting but I don’t think my autism will let me.
I’ve been playing them on console but I really loved Kiwami 2 so I hope you get to play it soon pcbros. I just felt the world was really well realized on the new engine
No it's not, you're confused. That announcement you're thinking of was for Kiwami 1, not for 6.
So since Judge Eyes has an english dub for some reason, will they do one for Shin?
Sega's financial reports.
there's no way they're releasing 6 after kiwami
especially since kiwami 2 released shortly after
>release 0
>then remake of 1
>then 6
nande
>The publisher said it plans to release Yakuza 6 on Steam in North America and Europe before the end of 2018
Yes that's the one I'm talking about, it's a mistranslation, they meant Kiwami
It happened on PS4 and right now PC has not only released in PS4 order but also released with the same release time as well (Like five months apart) with 6 being teased in their financial reports as PS4/PC despite having no PC version. 6 after Kiwami isn't farfetched, especially since that's how they did it on PS4 and the way they did it for PS4 players was to give them a manga that summarized the events of 2 through 5 on their website which they heavily pushed on top of making some summary videos as well.
I started with Kiwami and i'm just wondering one thing:
Do all games take place in Kamurocho?
>started with Kiwami
oh no he fell for the bait
also no
zero has you in osaka for half the story. and there's another set in some seaside town.
Yes. Sometimes there's other towns but in most games it's Kamurocho.
It's featured in most games, but it changes every time and usually there's 1 or 2 more cities to explore
Well, it's a remake of the first one so I saw no problem with it.
I'm not sure if I should get Kiwami 2 or 0 next.
I see, thanks.
Besides the samurai spinoffs, yes.
>1/Kiwami
Kamurocho
>2/Kiwami 2
Kamurocho, Sotenbori, Shinseicho (Does not exist in Kiwami 2)
>Kenzan
Gion, Suburbs, and like eight other small maps.
>3
Kamurocho, Okinawa
>4
Kamurocho but now there's the rooftops and the underground mall/parking lot. I can't remember if this was the first game to introduce the sewers or not as well.
>Black Panther
Kamurocho
>Dead Souls
Kamurocho but now it's destroyed with walls everywhere.
>Black Panther 2
Kamurocho, Sotenbori
>5
Kamurocho, Sotenbori (Now has the park at the bottom-right), Tsukimino, Nagasugai, Kineicho
>Ishin
Kyoto (Four bits to it, Rakunai, Rakugai, Fushimi, and Mukurogai), Mibu (Very small area) which leads to the Shinsengumi HQ, Gion (It's not the same one from Kenzan, not even close), and Tosa (Only visited at the start of the game and during the story, outside of the start you can't explore it)
>0
Kamurocho, Sotenbori except now in the 80's
>6
Kamurocho but they redid the whole thing with many new stores and areas you can visit, Hiroshima
>Judgment
Kamurocho with a bunch more stores, minigame areas, and general buildings you can enter.
The thing is that with each game they always add new areas, new stuff, they change things up, they change locations, they move stores, etc. The Gelataria for example has been closed since Black Panther 1 and in 6 they boarded up the place.
sega would be dumb to release 6 after kiwami on pc
the ps4 version could've been targeting the series vets not newcomers but who knows, it will probably happen
>Dead Souls
>Kamurocho but now it's destroyed with walls everywhere.
Explain right now.
Non-canon zombie spin-off.
It's a zombie spinoff. Basically the government has these walls they can just walk over to areas where its infested with zombies and plop them down which creates a quarantine zone. You explore the quarantine zone which has broken stores, stores that are barricaded that you have to save, shortcuts not in the other games, the Kamuro Theater Underground is way different compared to 4 with tons of new areas, etc.
>the ps4 version could've been targeting the series vets not newcomers
It was targeting both which is why they went to such lengths to commission a manga of the four games not on PS4. They wanted newcomers to buy it even though they only played 0 and Kiwami.
should I buy Kiwami (1) ? I heard only that is frustrating
It's a fun fanservice game which a lot of people hate for some reason.
No, its hated because it ran so fucking bad it went below 10 FPS
>holy shit Yakuza with zombies that sounds so coo-
>see 5 seconds of gameplay
The gameplay feels so slow what the hell?
The fact that it looks like a PS2 game doesn't do it any favors... but I didn't play it so I won't judge.
Why did a zombie outbreak start anyway? are the main characters okay? what about Haruka's dog? or Reina and Yumi?
atrociously, just don't do it
watch a summary if you want to see the like 3 things that haapen and just go to good games like 4 and 5
Framedrops weren't THAT ofter really. I don't know, I had a lot of fun with the game. I liked the insta-headshot mechanic and game overall was really nice. Sure, some repetitive moments with underground dungeon but such things present in mainline games as well.
>The gameplay feels so slow what the hell?
It's a very unique shooter really, it doesn't play like your normal TPS at all. But it's hard to tell if you'll like it or not. I had lots of fun with it.
Probably depends on how well Judge Eyes sells. I wish they hadn't bothered dubbing it since it'd probably get localized quicker.
I mean, the gameplay is very rough, aiming is on the left control stick for some sacrilegious reason, actually aiming is a waste of time compared to stacking the lime green talisman and just spamming R1, Ryuji's entire section is painful with his awful QZ, the substories are mostly miss with a couple very good hits, the Underground Subterranea is the worst, Amon is easily the worst in the entire series, a majority of the grenade-type weapons are outright unusable, the hostess club are handled in the worst way possible requiring you to fully exit the QZ to get a date from them, QTE speed is determined by your difficulty meaning hitting anything on Dead Souls difficulty without XMB buffering is close to impossible, and the framerate is like mid 20s with constant drops at any given time.
I still enjoyed my time with it.
>The gameplay feels so slow what the hell?
It's basically a really hacked up shooter made from the Yakuza skeleton so it plays like you're playing a Yakuza game with tacked on shooter mechanics.
>Why did a zombie outbreak start anyway?
Rich guy decided to experiment on people or something and started the outbreak to cleanse the earth? I can't remember what his pointless rant was about but you only get told at the end of the game.
>are the main characters okay?
Yes, you play as Akiyama, then Majima, then Ryuji, then Kiryu. Hana is okay on Akiyama's side, Daigo is fine on Majima's, Ryuji has his own OC character he's trying to find, and on Kiryu's side he's going after Haruka. Haruka got kidnapped like usual.
>what about Haruka's dog? or Reina and Yumi?
Haha, you're a funny guy.
I didn't expect that webm to go the places it did.
>what about Haruka's dog? or Reina and Yumi?
>Haha, you're a funny guy.
You're kidding right? right?
Dead Souls is full of stuff like that, especially in the good substories. Majima's playthough has some ridiculous moments throughout most of it as well.
Reina and Yumi are both dead dude. Haruka's dog was left with a homeless guy at the end of 1 and then in 2 Kiryu sends him over to Sunflower Orphanage during a substory regarding it to cheer up the kids.
The dog is fine, he stays at the orphanage for a while
actor changed because cocaine
mash that shit like your life depends on it
it's fine for a normal playthrough. if you're going for a 100% clear then it feels terrible. also, everything takes forever to die
>yakuza survey that had Ishin in there was almost 2 years ago
>they still haven't done a single thing about it
>so unless you're willing to pirate
why wouldn't you be?
hory fuck, i thought he was a joke...
