I beat the first Zorah Magdaros fight and got to the third area before being bored silly with it. It's just tedious

Finish the story mode. After this you'll unlock the last half of the game and that's really tedious, because every mission revolves around 3-4 monsters constantly attacking each other or you and you have to craft dung on the way.

MonHun is grindy, yes, but compare World's [farm the same 5-6 monsters on the same 5 maps forever] to GenU or 4U's [farm any of dozens of different monsters on more than a dozen maps] and it's clear World has extremely small amount of content.

I'm not going to pretend that I stuck around for longer in World or that the following makes the game any more diverse or interesting but it has the excuse of being the framework for a new generation of MonHun games, that really was to be expected.
