Hitomi got into top 8 in the first DoA6 tournament and honoka with her stances isn't exactly beginner friendly. My first DoA was 2 on the dreamcast.

I really like the game, and I love how fast it finds matches, but at the same time I'm sad that it probably won't be like that in the full game and will die in a week because this game just doesn't have the potential playerbase size of tekken or street fighter.

I've also been learning Kasumi. From what I've gathered, you want to keep your distance a bit and only rush in when your opponent whiffs or does a move you can punish. Try to get into the mindset of a quick little ninja girl and play to her strengths, which are her really fast (but weak) attacks. You can always use her teleport and wavedash to throw your opponent off guard too.

Throws are mainly for punishing hold attempts, and to punish defensive players, and outside of cetain offensive hold throws (like Tina's rodeo) they'll always lose to strikes, so only use them if you think they're going to try and hold you.
