How are you finding Far Cry: You Can Fucking Double Jump Now?

It's basically Far Cry 5 but they listened to feedback about the forced kidnappings and stuff like that. It also has a bunch of design elements from FC: Primal in there, as well as FC: Instincts-style superpowers. Plus a bunch of expeditions to other regions that are really fun. It's a smaller, more constrained game than FC5. The budget and scope limitations are evident. But in a lot of ways it's a better version of FC5.

Is the map smaller?

A fair bit of the Northeast and Northwest is inaccessible. It's a shaved down version of Hope County. I suppose that if you add up the parts of Hope County you can access plus all the expeditions, New Dawn's landmass is probably as big, or bigger than FC5 though.

Yes and no. It confirms that his prophetic abilities were to some degree genuine. He wasn't crazy. He did hear some kind of voice. But he misunderstood. He was sincere in his efforts to do God's will. But it's implied that he made a terrible mistake assuming he was the Shepherd. His efforts to play that role hurt so many people.

At the end of the game, he says that his soul has become a cancer, and begs you to "end the vicious cycle" by killing him. He tells you that you are the true Shepherd, and you will do what he couldn't do. It's quite tragic, and it feels like a shame that the nuances a lost on a lot of people. Joseph is an example of a pure heart and sincere intentions going terribly, terribly wrong. Repeatedly. In New Dawn, the Edeners are on a path of peace and love, but Ethan's bitter, jealous, and ambitious son Ethan ruins it all. And Joseph feels responsible.

I like that the dog can now get into your car and that the shield throw is so hilariously out of place it's Captain America tier, but honestly from the few hours I played everything else was so fucking underwhelming and I can't believe that Ubisoft just keeps rehashing the same old stale, shallow shit and people keep lapping it up. The Far Cry series has so much potential, they keep pouring a ton of resources into it, the art is always top notch, the core gameplay is polished, but they never do anything even remotely deep or interesting with the mechanics or world. It's always super shallow characters, super shallow looting and crafting, super shallow inventory, super shallow weapons and customization and it's all just so fucking bland and forgettable.

I legitimately do not understand how people can enjoy this shit.

For the love of god give us a AAA Stalker or Boiling Point like experience with some actual depth, the novelty of this formula wore of SIX fucking games ago.

Weapon customization and weapon levels are fundamentally incompatible. If you're going to force players to replace their guns with new ones, you don't want them becoming attached to a heavily customized gun.

Far Cry 5 didn't have double jumping, expeditions, nor outpost escalations. Being able to tear shit up with superpowers including being able to turn invisible at will pushes the game closer to the Crysis power fantasy than most of the other FC games.

simple fix - let players upgrade internals instead of whole gun and how it shoots.

Dialogue is written badly, it's cliche, it's bring, it's marvel netflix tier bad. I can fucking predict what anyone will say, it's first Ubi game I feel that way, their writers usually pretty good.

FC5 and New Dawn use projectile physics instead of hitscan. Meaning you have to track moving targets and stuff like that. The lower tier guns in New Dawn are kinda low quality. I assume they're less accurate.

lol fuck no, the base tier MAC 10 looking SMG is a literally fucking snipe rifle, it's stupidly accurate and you can one hit with headshots with ease.

I spend more time pirating Far Cry games than playing them because the devs keep spending more time making shit games than good games.

From what I know he could've just nuked the place himself because he was about to get arrested again so he had to do it to make sure his Eden would still happen, because if you leave instead of trying to arrest him, no nukes go off, it's just the car ride where you hear that trigger song thing and it fades to black, or am I missing something here? It's generic because it does literally nothing to meaningfully differentiate itself outside of LOLSOWHACKY antagonists and LOLPINK.
It's generic because the formula is so refined and boiled down to the absolute basics that it's literally meaningless, the loot system is meaningless, the economy is meaningless, the games are 90% filler.
Far Cry is the very embodiment of what generic is, it's completely unremarkable and utterly forgettable, which is why they feel the need to shit them out with such regularity as opposed to making a decent game that people would continue to play for years to come and it's why they go out of their way to ensure modders can't ever actually do anything worthwhile with their games because god forbid someone do something interesting or new with the formula.

The whole scenario just seems like a clusterfuck of mismatched and anecdotal info, why would another country bomb the everliving shit out of some backwater bumfuck nowhere place out in montana and sure there's missile silos and those would be targets if they were somehow able to somehow, some way get a couple of nuclear missiles past the radars, satellites and NMD without anybody knowing at all, there's no evidence of either scenarios, the story wants you to believe joseph has supernatural visions, but it could all just be a ploy, a set up to make you believe it, like a brainwashing that this is the truth and that's it's not just him taking advantage of an already unstable world to create a new society by creating and making up a scenario where he's a prophet of the lord, telling us that the world is going to end and all, when in reality he's just tugging the strings and setting up his plan.
I should stop because there's really no evidence for this either and they (Developers) set up the story just like they have done to confuse people to what is really going on in it.
