Back then, I thought Paper Mario would go back to being like the first two right after SPM. I wish we could've had three good games instead of two.

We could have had 4 good games if sticker star didn't turn out to be complete shit. Then colour splash might have turned out ok too.

I really tried to like this game
I really did but I can't enjoy it, and I'm saying that as someone who like strategy games like FE

Its seen in a better light on its own moreover in a series. Nintendo's attempt to "streamline" games to make them more appealing to new audiences. But on its own merit, its a really good game.

>CRITICISM? OF SUPER PAPER MARIO
>YOU'RE JUST LIKE THAT NERD WHO COMPLAINS ON IMAGE BOARDS IN THE GAME AHAHA

Pretty much all Elder Scrolls but I figure Morrowind will net me the most (you)'s

>But on its own merit, its a really good game.
No, it's shit. It combines the worst parts of platformers and rpgs with shitty level design and pointless numbers that force you to jump on enemies multiple times despite their patterns not being any more complex than those of enemies in a regular platformer. It's shit.

Not really. The platforming is so floaty and slow, and the levels are just bare. It's practically impossible to lose with how little damage the enemies do.
The humor is usually enjoyable, but the story is abysmal. The characters are never developed enough to care about them even a little, even though there's a ton of story text. I've seen people defend Bleck, but he doesn't actually develop, he just realizes that Tippi isn't actually dead.
It combines mainline Mario with Paper Mario, but doesn't retain any of what made those games good. Compare the hardest platforming challenge in SPM with the hardest one in something like SMB3. Compare the random NPC dialogue with random NPC dialogue in the first two Paper Marios. Super Paper Mario just doesn't stack up.

That game just felt too shallow to me. Maybe I should give it another try.

I love Morrowind but I can definitely understand why someone wouldn't like it. The gameplay is basically hot shit, NPCs are lifeless, quest design is inconsistent in quality, models and animations are dreadful. There's plenty of reasons to drop it, but if you can get past all that, the setting, exploration and lore are some of the best in any RPG.

Couldn't get into morrowind either.
Maybe my born after 1999 zoomer brain just isn't capable of enjoing a game that feels that clunky

I hated how all the npcs were all squares and sometimes triangles lazily assembled together. This is PAPER Mario, not SQUARES Mario

This and also how bland the pixls are, especially compared to the party members of old.

The Witcher 3

why user

Okay, "hate" is a strong word, but I don't care for ME at all.
The combat sucks. The plot is uninspired. The choices don't matter 96% of the time. The rpg-elements are all pretty lackluster. The mako sections became boring the third time you had to explore a planet.
While it is the kind of game that's better than the sum of its parts I don't see why it's so popular. Being introduced to a new setting and seeing aliens is fun, but if that's all the game truly has to offer I'd much rather watch a sci-fi show or read a book - or play something better. The upsides are simply not worth slogging through the rest of the game for.

Not to say it looked good but each Paper Mario game has a specific stylistic twist they try to take on the "paper" thing. In Super Paper Mario's case they tried going for a more digital/computer-theme with vectors and etc. It's why so much of the game is boxy and why a mouse cursor literally goes over Mario when flipping so it makes that they were like this.

Everyone hated that.

It not just because of the story either as I never really care for storys in games. I still completed it like because I have played the whole series and wanted to finish that one too but was glad when it was over.

While I don't "hate" persona, I feel pretty ambivalent towards it and like MT more.

Same here. More focus on the exploring and fighting instead of the half assed and not overly interesting story animu sections. I find Persona Q to be better than the mainline Persona series, but then again I do love the Etrian formula.

the second chapter 4 is over, you may as well quit.

I was just shit talking Shadow of Mordor in another thread so I guess I'll contribute that. How does a company manage to fuck up the open world collectathon stealth action genre so bad? The world is ugly as fuck, climbing and controls are atrocious, and the combat is clunkier than I've ever seen for a "tap x to awesome" bamham system. Did about 4 missions, half the white towers, a dozen or so challenges and then gave up at about 6 hour mark.

I agree, and the fact that it's all homages to other space stuff like Star Wars meant that the world itself felt derivative
>wow sexy space females
>wow animal human allies with different values but we get along
>wow magic space energy

And then you add shit gameplay and the game really didn't deserve the love it has. Even 2, which I liked, wasn't great enough to rope me into 3. Just seems like everything besides the dialogue is in the way of more dialogue.

I hate this game and the people who suck it's cock so much.
Can gou believe people defend this piece of garbage by saying that the boring monotonous gameplay is good, because it makes you understand the MCs frustration with his life better?
What kind of fucked logic is that?
