What am I about to say will trigger a lot of people here, I realize that. It's not going to be a popular opinion. But fuck it. I think in terms of gameplay and graphics, Anthem is better than Cyberpunk 2077. Yes, the load screens are awful, the story is shit, the writing sucks. But man the gameplay is fucking awesome, and the gfx look amazing too. This is why CDPR made a huge mistake making their game an fps, it would be so much better with third person. Look:

You can be fully immersed in a game's world with a third person camera, Anthem has tons of verticality and the cameras don't affect it negatively one bit, it's called locking the damn camera to behind the shoulder/head when looking up. It isn't hard ffs. CDPR is just lazy and doesn't want to bother doing well made animations, which third person would require.
That's why so many on cdpr's forums for the game years back hoped it would be third person, so we can have action combat like that. Look at that shit, the melee and gunplay are superb. Put aside your hatred for Bioware and EA and look at it objectively. Anthem's gameplay is better than Cyberpunk 2077's gameplay. It just is.

I gotta agree with op much as I hate to admit, Anthem's gameplay actually looks better than anything cdpr showed us. Maybe they'll change it to third person and surprise us, I hope so. They need to take some notes from Anthem as far as gameplay goes.

I never said that, I said cyberpunk's gameplay is bad, you can see in the demo it's bad. It's so underwhelming. Also melee combat is trash, which is a symptom of first person camera. They promised an indepth melee system with parrying and shit. Third person is perfect for that. Instead we're getting some shit watered down garbage instead like deus ex melee combat.

You're crying over a decision CDPR has made possibly years ago. Whats done is done. Cyberpunk has much bigger problems for a narrative RPG design; all the characters are boring as fuck save for pic related.
Here's the real redpill that will trigger you too. Both of these games are shit and have terrible gameplay. CDPR has never made a good game and there is no reason to believe they ever will, they make movies and grindfests for stupid people. Anthem is so bad I won't even bother making a comment about it.

Look, Anthem is a shit game, but the actual gameplay itself is good, by that I mean the combat. It's fun, and feels good, and melee is very well done. They basically did what Warframe failed to do, melee 3.0 still hasn't come out yet.

The melee combat and movement is amazing, and better than warframe.
The demo was shown, and it isn't going to magically change. The gameplay is a generic cod style fps with homing bullets and bad melee slapped on. Get fucked.
