Phil has been doing a bang up job fixing the xbox brand though.

From taking smaller studies under their wing to selling decent hardware at a budget price, fixing the backwards compatibility issues, getting a solid value for people out of game pass which includes new releases, PC and console releases for all their 1st party games with cross platform support and now rumors of going all in on cross platform across other companies' hardwares could mark a huge comeback for the xbox name.

It's way better than when Don Mattrick was in charge of the brand.

MIcrosoft and Apple are the only two companies in the world that genuinely hate their competition. Its what made them both such powerhouses in their own times

Also I will say I don't think Sony, Valve or Nintendo are perfect they definitely have some top level execs that are literally EA equivalents but the vast majority is done with love.

About this, I don't know if this is actually happening, If Nintendo of Japan says no, then it's not happening since Microsoft's xCloud streaming does compete with Nintendo Onile and Classic Games Selection along with their mobile division so we'll have to see if NOJ says yes to this but they may say no.

I also know for a fact, it's not coming to the PS4/PS5 due to it competing with PSNow and Sony would never allow it. Microsoft needs to stop with this shit because now it's feeling like desperation and like they just gave up. I believe we will only see xCloud/Game Pass on Xbox consoles, PC, mobile devices, and TVs that have apps but it will fail in all categories except the consoles.

Microsoft is worried about Amazon, google, and to a lesser extent Sony. Nintendo is going for a different audience and wants to sell hardware/toys. Microsoft is trying to get everyone on their software services.

They're really pushing for the cloud gaming experiences and Nintendo's IPs are mostly able to cope with that with possibly the exception of Smash or Splatoon. I'm a bit surprised that Nintendo hasn't tried to push their weight to get infrastructure of their own and try this but it may be the ship has sailed with them no longer competing for the high end graphics and not having strong enough relationships with third party developers. They might want to get out of the business in regards to hardware and let you stream anywhere from a device if the business model allows for it and they can switch.
