I had a copy of pokemon silver once, but the battery was so fucked you could only get one save on it and then the save would delete itself (basically it was a quicksave), anyway first pokemon encounter out the gate was a shiny Weedle, then I made my way to the radio tower and first try win a damn master ball, at that point I shut off the game experiencing anger in ways I didn't know possible.

Only time I've ever seen a shiny, it feels cheap nowadays when people can just game the RNG system.
