So can BioWare finally be put to rest?

That's a bigger shit show than I expected.

Shepard sends his regards, bitches.

who could have predicted this

no they need another dragon age bomb and a final mass effect nail in the coffin

Most people when the gameplay was revealed to be Destiny but even more uninspired looking

Man, if that had quotes from some of those places it would be even funnier.

>out of 50

Who can save Bioware now that even their staunchest defenders have turned on them? Who can they put the blame on this time?

Nothing of value was lost

Gamers are entitled pieces if shit....

>Who can they put the blame on this time?
Big bad EA for not giving them another six years, apparently.

When you have literally zero material for your "accolades trailer" because no-one thinks your game is good, you know you need to stop making video games.

Even shit like Evolve and We Happy Few had enough shills for an accolade trailer for fucks sake

Attached: 1541038071955.jpg (607x415, 119K)

How are 60, 65 and 70s considered bad scores

Evolve was a good game though

thats too much money, no one gonna do that.

el whoosho

Nigga they aren't even passing other then 70

Attached: 1528343251017.jpg (250x230, 10K)

in the hunt for microtransactions and lootboxes sure they will

When it's a look at all the good reviews we're getting trailer
Also for something their trying to hedge a lot of bets on

Attached: bam_ham.png (640x903, 872K)

>Americans
In real countries, anything above 49 is passing.

> I got straight Ds on my report card mom! why are you crying?

EA will put a bullet in bioware tomorrow if it helps them put out another sports game

This timeline is repeating help I'm having a problem how do I get out of the loop

>no one gonna do that
Are you underaged? Just you fucking watch them.

>In real countries, anything above 49 is passing.
So your countries literally train you to be happy with subpar work?

because games journalism is hot dog shit and made a 7/10 average instead of a 5/10 like it should be by definition, so most "good" games get at least 80+, making Anthem's score shit from how it is vs how it should be

>knowing a mere half of the material is acceptable

in america, anything below 70 is considered a failing grade
so, when american writers give a game a score between 0 and 100, they use the public's past knowledge of grades to communicate what they think about the game
this is why ign generally doesn't go below 70, because the vast majority of games pass as games

Expecting severe cutbacks before DA4, if even that happens, but given that EA gave the green light I think it's 50/50.

But a new Mass Effect? No way, unless DA4 is a massive success. If EA and BioWare were smart they'd pump out a Mass Effect trilogy remaster to get some easy bucks.

We can only hope.

Attached: 1489975901488.png (222x283, 49K)

Amerifat here, even our 90s are subpar work. The education system in this country is a fucking disaster.

IF you only are 50% good, then you are shit

EA does have a track record for doing the dumbest shit possible, so I wouldn't be too surprised if they tried to get at least one more game before taking BioWare out behind the barn.

Not exactly. Of course it's technically a pass, but nobody will be impressed with those grades, employers will laugh at you.

Generally 80 or 80% is a B- and 85 - 90 is a B+

70 is thus a C-, which is below average.

>destructoid

They're still around?

who fucking cares
why are you having this argument when the standard in video game review scores have been "7/10 is average" for 20+ years and everyone knows this

>try to join random co-op in progress
>brings you to an already completely mission
This has happened like 4 times in a row.. I want my $15 funbucks back

>eat ma period
lol, still funny

This will literally never fail to make me lauch.

You are laughing, but we all know they're going to sell the GOTY edition a few months from now. Hell, they might even get some goty awards for whatever reason.

Because it's a product competing against other products for my money. Why settle for mediocrity?

What's the point of a 10 point scale if half of the scale is never used

as a longtime ME fanboy, unless EA publicly apologizes and acknowledges that they cut the final boss fight from ME3 in the final 48 hours of development because they refused to let Bioware have a 1 or 2 month delay to fix it, I won't buy

further, the fucking boss fight and original ending better fucking be there. they FINISHED THE GODDAMN ILLSUIVE MAN BOSS BATTLE AND NOBODY JAS EVER FUCKING SEEN IT

THEY FUCKING PAID MARTIN SHEEN AND NOBODY EVER SAW IT

I will never not be mad.

Anyway, give the remaster to Bluepoint.

Did Andromeda get any GOTY? Anthem is getting worse reviews.

they havent tried to milk actually good studious.

why are you asking me? I didn't fucking decide it and I don't like it, but it's just how it works
there's no point in semantic arguments

>the whole first person fort tard-sis is unnecessary
Pic related is probably why I can't get into this game. It breaks any semblance of immersion

P.S.
got this game for free, and I feel I overpaid

Attached: why.png (378x488, 9K)

Giant Bomb gave it GOTY.

I see so much hate around certain aspects of the game which I don't quite understand. For example:
Gunplay is bad? What? Gunplay feels great. It's not supposed to be the main theme, you as Iron man are supposed to be the weapon. Why are people comparing this to Destiny?I know there aren't that many weapons, but javelin abilities are supposed to outshine any weapon by far. Who gives a crap about shooting with a semi auto when I can charge with a shield bury enemies 3 feet under?Fort Tarsis is dead? Um...yeah, even the NPCs in the game seem to hate it which seems intended imo. You're not supposed to love fort Tarsis as it's some kind of meh outpost. I agree with the low sounds and that there isn't any social aspect between players. Loading screens are plenty, but don't last long for me (SSD) Potentially a limitation of frostbite engine. I'll give you that.
Lots of bugs ironed on the 22nd patch. I've never disconnected in my entire playtime. Gameplay feels fluid and flying takes skill to manage without overheating. Graphics are great. Combat is amazing. Dungeons actually take skill and coordination to get through. They managed to ship a very fair in game store. There is a framework in place which will allow lots of great content added in the future. It feels well designed.
Do you think all the bad feedback is warranted? I see lots of potential here in an already decent game. I can compare this to Destiny release and confidently say it outshines it by miles. Honestly, I can't wait until the reviewers who are giving a 5/10 come back next month with the very predictable "I was wrong about Anthem, please go buy it" shite. I've been gaming since the 80's and this is not a 5/10 game. it's a 7.5/10 with the potential to be a 9.5/10 within a couple of months post release. This is the first time in months where I decided to ignore all the major reviewers (shillup specifically who was extra salty for not getting a free key) and I'm really happy I bought this game.

No all the plans for DLC were scrapped. Dragon Age II didn't have a GOTY either because retailers weren't interested in carrying it.

An AAA game getting 65 when generic weebshit with only a 100k budget also gets 65 is pretty pathetic.

Check this out.

Attached: Screenshot_20190224-060354.jpg (1080x1920, 1.14M)

people can mostly sell what they want, can buy what they want, can like what they want.

faggot

EA paid me $100 to post that.

What the fuck is wrong with triple A games? Can they NOT make a fucking mess out of everything? Where is the passion and love of the craft?

I'm no engineer, but the chicken leg design would probably be better at supporting the weight of the suits and keeping it balanced.

why do tranny shills always need to write a backstory where they're happily married with kids

>employers actually look at grades
wut the fug

It went away once they started pandering to women, thirdworlders, and other people with poor spending habits

>Where is the passion and love of the craft?

Went out the window over a decade ago. Passion doesn't increase EPS, shoveling out yearly installments of decaying franchises does. And when sales become sluggish because rational people stop buying the same game after the 10th yearly update, you just pack it full of pay to win microtransactions and loot boxes, because if a person buys even ONE lootbox, there's a chance to trigger a psychological response and lead them down the road to becoming a gambling addict, at which point basically every dime they're worth is now yours. At essentially no extra development cost. Now THAT's a fucking business model.

It's not common, but depending on the career it'll happen.

Grades mostly matter in regards to transferring for Colleges, or getting into them.

those are Cs.
the fuck kinda parents would love their kid if he gets a fucking C grade on his math scores

I'm more concerned that he's supposedly an attorney but his English looks like some 12 years old.

Why wouldn't an anthropomorphic suit (like Iron Man, RoboCop, etc.) be balanced?

It must suck for them, they have no positive reviews to do an acolades marketing video or billboard for because everyone is giving them a 70 or a 60

Imagine your parents paid your way through 6 years of college and those grades were on your transcript.

Aren't 60 and 65 Ds?

Because it's a real world design that militaries and companies have been using in their prototype power suits. The reason is it help absorb impact and helps with running, with all that extra weight trying to run would be murder on the mechanical parts in the knee joints, which would eventually murder your knees when you iron man your way in and the servo fails.

Would you give it a chance Yea Forums?

Attached: 1534099890059.jpg (600x400, 76K)

Nah, it's still easy. Just paraphrase some vaguely complimentary snippets from various reviews and call it 'the blockbuster hit that has reviewers raving!'.

Most people are retarded enough to buy into it without doing any research.

>"dude you're like iron man lmao"
>can't shoot while flying

Attached: 1549742200581.jpg (1024x1000, 190K)

>finally got rid of all that stupid relationship shit

>Best material/color picker in a game ever

>Mechs are utilitarian and cool af, in contrast to Titanfall which was the opposite of good.

>ruined it by lack of content

HOW DO YOU FUCK UP DIS HARD!

Only if it's a Milky Way prequel, ideally set during the First Contact, or Rachnia Wars or something.

I went to an american prviate school for middle/high school and I was surrounded by people smarter than me, I got consistently B+ grades with a few A's and C's while most of the people I knew got straight-A's. I always thought I was just stupid until I started working, most people who graduate public school are fucking stupid. Like, if they took the classes we took they'd be lucky if they even fucking passed, meanwhile I got B's while high for most of my high school career. I got into a A/B Grade College with my "sub-par" grades while most people I've met who got A's in public school rarely got into even B-Grade colleges. America's schooling is fucked, everyone's always losing.

Attached: 1550695445490.png (774x513, 324K)

I think this is the worst I've seen a AAA title do in a while

Christ. When the Guardian is the only outlet willing to give them the 40 this dumpster fire deserves you know the industry is due for another collapse

>>That 70 from Destructoid
As if people needed any more proof that they were full of shit

Honestly I would probably think these designs would be slightly more realistic if the suit was anything bulkier than a suit of plate armor.

>make a generic as fuck Destiny clone

>take away everything that makes Bioware games Bioware games

>guise where is all the content? l;oll

The absolute state.

>76
???

95% of people knew 76 would be shit, Anthem stands out as an absolute heaping pile of diarrhea that surprised a fair portion of people.

Murricans can't design mechas.

>he thinks Bethesda is a AAA studio

They're not. Skyrim gave them delusions of grandeur. They didn't even make the best Fallout game since they acquired the franchise.

you have to come to a stop and go into hover mode
unlike iron man who has dog fights and carpet bombs shit while flying

That whole argument was just a cope anyway.

>a real world design that militaries and companies have been using in their prototype power suits
Nigga, the burden of proof is on you. I can't find any that supports your claim, and I've been googling for 3 minutes.

Yeah, I think if this game doesn't get fixed at all and leave it he will kill his family.

What I don't understand is how Destiny 1 & 2 got so much higher scores when they play so similar.

Why not just make an Iron Man game?

That shit would sell like hot-cakes at the moment if it isn't just some movie tie-in shit.

You know a game is bad when even paid reviewers give it a bad score.

>>The actual state of the industry.

Call me when its finished, only then ill pay.

*anything

>happily married husband, father to three children, long time gamer, and 64 year old attorney

I feel like playing tortanic after seeing this shitshow

What else are they for?

>Bioware Edmonton made a more shit game than Bioware Montreal
absolute state of this company and leafland in general

Because gamers like to apply their knowledge of a grading scale to reviewing. Even though in all other forms of media will state 50 as average since it uses the entire 1-100 range and 50 is average.

if AAA studios are determined by game quality, then why is EA deemed AAA?

bethesda has had (last time i checked) four game of the year awards, i think that qualifies them as AAA

its not quality, lol. It's budget

>AAA studios are determined by game quality
more likely their budget

Have you honestly never seen a digitigrade mech design before? Not that guy, but you act like the idea is inherently outlandish, considering we're talking about mechs.

Everyone knew Anthem would be shit too.

Shills do this to seem relocatable.

a coffin needs a lot of nails

Wasn't there a similar post that reddit found out its a real shill?

You get the first 50 points for writing your name and date. Just cut them off and pretend all video game review scores are on a scale of 50 to 100. This rule has applied for the last decade.

Use screws then the zombie cannot come back out of the grave.

I was in the "alpha" and knew it'd be boring as fuck. The mainstream media universally shitting on the game, that I didn't see coming.

lk.

>Have you honestly never seen a digitigrade mech design before?
I haven't. The closest thing I've seen is the werewolf suit in the Underworld movies. It works there, but not here. It's distracting in Anthem.

Is anybody honestly surprised by Anthem shitting the bed?

I'm not sure which game broke the camel's back (Fallout 76 maybe), but there's been extremely negative feedback for a lot of 'AAA' titles recently, and the reviewers are being directly called out on their bullshit. They're just starting to respond to the new environment.

The only people who should be allowed to come near Iron Man are the Ace Combat devs.

launch what?

OH NONONONONONONONO

Attached: 19972.webm (1102x696, 2.95M)

games are a funny medium where you can go past just being awful and into literally unplayable dogshit territory which is what the lower half of the 1-10 scale is for

Currently grinding Titans solo to unlock a new paint job. While I try to unlock the legion tombs. Colossus is easy mode fighting Titans on hard. So I switched to my Ranger for a bit of a challenge.

I just caught up on talking to everyone in Tarsis. Going to thumb through the challenges and journal next. My OCD Completionist will be the death of me,theres a metric fuck ton of objectives to complete. And I just unlocked my third Javelin.

they have been giving games such high scores or so long that the rating system is completely skewed to the point where a 60 may as well be a broken unplayable mess
actually metacritic even has a different scale for videogames but it doesn't go far enough obviously

Attached: meta score.jpg (589x268, 22K)

>I'm not sure which game broke the camel's back (Fallout 76 maybe)
I think it was Battlefront 2.

>when reviewers are so incompetent you have to change the rating system to make up for it
Can't say I'm surprised.

A lot of places used the 5 point system, which was also standard for movies for years. Some still do. The problem arises pretty much because of Metacritic. Metacritic bases everything out of 100 so a decent game being rated 3/5 is inflated only to a 60/100 when realistically it's more of a 75 or even an 80. And since Metacritic is so powerful you pretty much have to make it easier to scale to 'out of 100.'

Games cost more and are significantly greater investments of time and energy than movies and music, it actually makes sense that standards should be higher. Of course standards aren't higher and reviewers are just shit, but still, I don't think there's anything wrong with the concept, the score isn't an average, it's a measure of success

I find it so hillarious that the game EA meddled hard in was shit but the game they didnt give two shits about and stayed out of is absolutely wrecking shop.
5 bucks says that EA will abandon Anthem to fuck Apex right in the mouth, effectively refusing to learn any lessons.

Lord have mercy, its pathetic this what some people get paid to do. Prostitution is a more respectable profession.

>Games cost more and are significantly greater investments of time and energy than movies and music
why should that matter?

>games cost more and are greater investments
You braindead retard are just thinking about AAA games, which is an absolute minority.
The exact opposite is true, in fact. >90% of games are cheaper and less of an investment than movies on average.

>Games cost more and are significantly greater investments of time and energy than movies and music, it actually makes sense that standards should be higher.
Uh, no. Blockbuster movies usually cost more than video games.

youtube.com/watch?v=MbtlghVYHjQ

I SPY WITH MY LITTLE EYE

It's an arbitrary number. We could do scores from -5 to +5, or -100 to 0. It doesn't matter, because you just compare the numbers to other games to get the value.

Give this game the 6 weeks EA themselves gave it.

Well know then.

It's a fucking scale. If everything is held to a higher standard then why are so many things given high 90s? Even if we were using a school grade scale, what you said is so fucking retarded

Perhaps 'critics' are getting less and less money for their reviews? There's definitely some weird stuff going on behind the scenes with all the layoffs of 'journalists' and Blizzard layoffs.

7 is mediocre and below 7 is shit.
8 above is the only good score.

it could be anything, it's the scale that's fucked up

Not in video game journalism. 80 is average.

Scale is fine. Most games are in fact made well, so our standards are high.

The ranges are skewed in such a way that you have smaller points to place in each category. I'd also say that in games 75 is more closer to average and anything below that ends up being trash

That's not true, because people compare cross media (aka game scores and movie scores, when trying to figure out whats good or not) and the system should have some logic to it.

No one would accept, for example: 1 - shit game, 2 - amazing game, 3 - okay game, 4 - good game, 5 - bad game

Game scores are currently illogical.
3/5 should be average, everything below is sub average and everything above should be above average.

The only good system is a like/dislike system like Steam has.

The writing is on the wall, honestly. The entire industry is on the verge of a massive collapse. Oversaturation and the rapidly growing threat of legislation and even possible criminal charges for the lootbox industry (which targets minors with what is essentially gambling) has everyone on edge. Game publishers are literally starting to lie about what their game's monetization models are- promising games free of microtransactions, then shoe-horning them in a few months after launch, once the reviews are out.

But AAA titles are too expensive to develop (and executive salaries too high) without the massive amount of income microtransactions bring. Selling 20 million copies of a game for $60 each isn't enough to cover the costs anymore. Now you have to sell those 20 million copies, at least half that many season passes for $30 each (and price point the DLC you're withholding to cost more than $30, of course), and then nickle and dime the fanatics with trivial cosmetic shit. And once the money for skins and recolors starts to dry up, just straight up sell in game advantages.

The bottom has to fall out. When the next major recession hits (probably soon), gamers just won't have the budgets to afford that kind of shit, and the companies dependent on those income models will die.

Indie developers and small studios will get some time to flourish, at least.

>The bottom has to fall out. When the next major recession hits (probably soon), gamers just won't have the budgets to afford that kind of shit, and the companies dependent on those income models will die.
I look forward to this. Sometimes you can no longer maintain something, and it's better to just destroy it and build something new where it used to be. At the end of the day, we'll better for it. EA, Bethesda, and Ubisoft can go to hell.

Nice wall of text, shill

Also, Blizzard-Activision.

Nigga your auto correct is fucked

Fucking phoneposters, at least he's posting something with detail while all you phoneposters do is shitpost.

All those ratings haven't been an entirely bad thing for Anthem. It helped create of number of fans who believe critics have been unfair to Anthem, believe people only dislike it because of EA hate or because they mindless follow others, are willing to excuse flaws by "game X did Y too", can be led on for a long time with vague promises that come with "games as a service", and are more concerned about defending the game then getting a better one.

Such fans can be useful because they will never apply an critical eye beyond "its not perfect but..." statements. I'll be interested to see how much Anthem sales.

Bear in mind, when I predict a collapse, I don't mean 'No video games forever' or anything like that. But the big publishers who depend on these slimy monetization schemes (primarily the ones you mentioned, plus ActiBlizzard) will die. And they will, of course, take all the studios they own down with them.

There'll be a major shakeup in the industry, thousands of game developers will be starting up new companies or indie projects, and gaming will either enter a dark age while game makers learn how to make games on a shoestring budget again, or a golden age of creativity as games are made to be games, free of shareholder and executive interference, and not virtual slot machines.

>Anthem, fallout 76, ME:A and more.
How does this shit happen?
They invest shitloads of money, how can't someone with at least half a brain realize the development is not going well, the game sucks and do something about it?

Attached: 1542982996796.png (314x278, 129K)

>IGN 65
Holy fuck, that's shit.

Subscription based services like Xbox Game Pass are almost certainly the future. People won't feel as ripped off by DLC and microtransactions if they can play the full game for free. It works well for gamers, too. I can play the game for free, without having to worry about the opinions of reviewers, and if I like it, I can spend $40-$60 on the DLC. This will likely result in games having lower budgets for a while, but in the end things will work out.

They've been working on Anthem for six years. This is EA cutting their losses and forcing Bioware to release something.

The extra length lets you take much larger strides, making you much faster, at the cost of reduced energy efficiency and weight bearing. Lots of predatory animals have legs shaped like this because they need the extra speed to chase down prey.
Humans have ankles that are in line with the knee because it allows us to carry stuff in our arms and walk on our hind-limbs for long distances without burning through massive amounts of energy. Also it allows us to carry much heavier things without rapidly tiring or injuring ourselves.

It's a dumb idea on a mech suit though, because you're putting a huge amount of weight onto a very small foot.

>all those fucking idiotic self-serving edits
god how can people stand to look at reddit

I hope they have enough fans playing it right now to keep them working on the project.

Love everything about the game except those loading screens. Not at the end of the game yet so haven't seen how dry it gets in end game.

Worst case scenario I play myself bored and go back to warframe or pickup division while I wait for the free expansions lol.

I'll support Bioware with in game purchases as long as they keep coming with the loot and interesting additions to end game wether through rifts, endless defence missions or loads of new bosses for me to kill over and over again for weapons or fashion.

Diablo style loot, guns, stats and fucking aliens. All I want.

>Why people do this shit? Why they talk about their families like they were medals?
It's a standard salesman tactic. You tell people a little story about yourself and your place in the world (usually targeted to appeal to your mark) to make you seem more relatable to them and to try to trigger a "trustworthy friend/authority figure" response from them so that you can trick them into thinking that they are getting friendly advice from you rather than being upselled by someone who wants their money.
Being an experienced lawyer this guy probably just does it automatically. That is if he isn't just a legitimate paid shill.

Depends on where you live actually.
Here in Massachusetts the educational system is literally among the best in the world, and anything below a 60 is still a failing grade (and in college pretty much anything below a 70 is a failing grade and will result in an academic warning if your GPA is below a 2.00).

Really? I’m not even the least bit surprised. BioWare has been a shit dev for like a decade, their shittiness has been a meme since like forever! Bad game after bad game.
>Mass Effect 3
>Dragon Age Inquistion
>Andromeda

and now Anthem. You must live under the biggest fucking rock

Imagine growing up with a dad who plays Anthem

>Yea Forums
>reviews are retarded and don't matter

>also Yea Forums
>hahaha look at these review scores!!!!!

fucking retards. The game looks absolutely shit before you call me a shill.

and yet in reality, the industry has seen both record levels of growth and profits for five years straight. Nice Yea Forums tinfoil hat bullshit theories, though.

>Games cost more and are significantly greater investments of time and energy than movies
You're fucking retarded if you actually believe that.

Only if they go the Merc route and actually stick to it instead of this "you're a merc, now go stop someone with God powes". Seriously I don't understand why people keep acting like Bioware are masters of writing. Every game of theirs is just you playing as someone uber special and you stop someone from getting God mode or stop something that already is. For fuck's sake build up to that shit instead of making that square one, then escalating it from there.

Attached: 1546187356952.gif (342x192, 1.98M)

Fascinating user.

It's more the fact that they were developing it for 6 fucking years. How can something with that much dev time be so devoid of content and soul?

Why is the government of your country so shit despite having a mountain of taxpayer dollars to improve your lives? The bigger the corporation, the harder it is to control what's going on, and the easier it is for individuals to act in self-interest at the cost of the company's well-being.

>shit instead of making that square one, then escalating it from there.
This is why I couldn't take Cisquisition seriously. Like 5 minutes into the game before anything about MC is even established you become the super-special chosen one. 2 hours later you're the seat of power of the entire inquisition. Then after that you're picking flowers and collecting bear asses to fill requisitions.

I am a 24 years old broke degenerate kissless virgin who is finishing law school and already passed the bar, and I can imagine myself lying saying that in 10 years I will be married with 3 kids, instead of being a divorced dude who doesn't see his kids because his ex is a bitch, and waste all his money on coke and prostitutes, barely waking up without a hangover.

I look at that post, and I can feel the lie on it, because it is a lie I would say.

Attached: file.png (494x429, 298K)

>gaming like most other forms of media and life in general is laden with hypocrisy.
Thanks for pointing out the obvious.

Yea they have record level highs and there are still absolutely massive layoffs happening across the entire AAA gaming industry and many massive games, which have sold in the tens of millions and brought in literally BILLIONS of dollars, are said to have been "underwhelming" for investors.
Even if the growth is massive and record breaking profits are being made, if it isn't ENOUGH of a profit - no matter how high - they might as well be operating at a loss for how they react.

>We gotta be adaptable, right?

This is the kind of asshole that when the Japs bombed pearl harbor probably advocated for not going to war. How limp do you have to be to just take the cock (or vag if you're gay) that gets shoved down your throat?

If I pretend to be gay will I get vags shoved down my throat?

We can try.

The idea of infinite growth is a fundamentally flawed idea and we are reaching the end result. As investors, people who have no actual understanding of what they invest in, demand more and more eventually a point is reached where there's nothing left to cut outside of man power and facilities. The fastest way to boost profit margin is cutting those two and that's the stage the industry has reached.

The biggest problem with this game, and I know there are a fucking ton, is constantly taking you out of the action. No one wants to slog through these shit conversations in Fort Tarsis. Fort Tarsis could have been removed completely, instead you're forced to go there after every mission. You spend more time slow walking in that shithole and loading than actually playing the game.

reminds me once again how much i care about review scores

>they all colluded to score a huge game low so that you can "trust" them in the future

wooow

Yikes! You reference Destiny like everyone played it! Also, the worst and most cringy part of Bioware games was all that shitty relationship/dialogue crap.

It's wonderful how people took until now to realize Bioware doesn't have originality.

Or maybe it's such a shit game that even paid journos can't defend it without seeming disingenuous?

remind me why i care, again?

Seriously asking didnt Destiny get 6.0's at launch?

>7 year development cycle on one of the most expensive engines, AAA game heavy on marketing, expensive voice actors on a 200 plus dev team
>hOW arE 60, 65 ANd 70s cONSideREd bAd SCOreS?

It got a bunch of 7s which is still really bad for these games with so much hype behind it.

Let's be perfectly honest, all mech suits are dumb.

Your mom lived for X years and 9 months to create you and that turned out totally shit too.

It be like that sometimes.

I'm 21 years old father of 2 kittens and a grocery store pharmacist, now with that out of the way why does every reddit post sound like a marvel movie quip or a line from a sitcom?

There will be layoffs, and a few new hires, and they'll convert Anthem into a Battle Royale somehow.

Well it’s not exactly setting the world on fire, nor a blockbuster expierience that guarantees fun for every generation
It’s competent to middling and that doesn’t sell a game, it just tells people that they can at best play it and not be bored

I'm so sorry your parents threw you against a wall as an infant, user.
Life will get better for you I promise!

Spider-man, Red Dead, God of War. Took years to make, commercially and crictically successful. EA is the fast food of video games. They’re filthy rich and they put out shiny plastic hollow shit for the basic consumer to waste money on. Just drop their shit name and your gaming experiences will be better. They even hopped on the battle royale train and everyone eats it up. Just please don’t give money to that shit company.

the people that write the scripts for the reddit marketers aren't very smart

At least I wasn't 35% off 2 days into my lifespan.

Attached: 1523234808528.png (225x233, 135K)

As far as I've seen in recent years the only games that get 10s are rockstar and first party exclusives mostly. Even 8s and 9s are reserved for mostly polished single player experiences.

On an honest review scale 7 is good, but nobody works like that and this game probably sucks. Im so bored though I wish someone would convince me to buy it.

Nier got 5.0s and is still one of my favourite games of all time.

PRESS A BUTTON
SOMETHING AWESOME HAPPENS

>list 3 fast food games
>"EA is the fast food of video games"

how is that shit any different lol

>Make sure to include matchmaking on every activity
>Make sure to have some actual RPG elements and "builds"
>Make sure to not make people pay $20 for every new morsel of content added to the game
>Explicitly try to do everything right that Destiny got wrong
>... except being a desolate clusterfuck at launch

Attached: 927358923.gif (250x251, 998K)

I agree, life is way more shit then that.

I am frankly amazed by lack of shill reviews. Like you said usually there's someone who sells out and will praise the game regardless.

Attached: amashing.jpg (165x178, 6K)

that piercing white background cooks my eyes like fucking scrambled eggs

Honestly user I was just making a joke but you could do better if that was meant to be a serious comeback. You people used to be smarter than me.

Except it doesn't. The shooting is bad and the powers are samey.

Why did this happen Yea Forums? Where did Bioware lose the thread? Where did blizzard?

The industry is fine. It's the AAA branch that's falling apart under their own weight.

see

and besides that, it's all wrong. Ubisoft is the fast food of games, EA is like out of date gas station snacks.

>Explicitly try to do everything right that Destiny got wrong
The game was in development for 6 years and still managed to fall into every trapping that Destiny 1 did. It's almost impressive.

They aren't, I hate the story to death in this game, but I'm having a ton of fun. Yea Forums just wants to ride the hate train to tortanic town because 95% of this board are NPC's that just parrot Yea Forums catch phrases in an attempt to be human.

Attached: 1547082965546.jpg (300x300, 19K)

Marketers are living billboards, hence why advertising seems to be more personal these days, even software has little messages that seem to invoke a personality(see for example the text boxes when discord is updating or hover text on pornhub "achievements" in someone's profile)
It's also why fucks in a grocery store will walk up to you, compliment your shoes then tell about how they're their own boss and you should totally be like them travelling 5 months a year and to do so you have to sign up for some bullshit

Ubisoft made rayman legends and child of light and fuck you.

>i got str8 d and c in my report card I did well r-rigth????

so mass effect 2 was the last bioware game

>he said as he piously demostrates his elitism

" lol "

>literal Ds and Fs
>not bad scores
Your parents sure instilled some good values in you.

It has better gameplay than cyberpunk 2077 by cdpr.

Destiny 1 is a better game than destiny 2

If the trappings are just a lack of content then why didnt anyone give a shit about 8hr campaigns in 60 dollar singleplayer games 15 years ago.

ironic shitposting is still shitposting

>school and review scores are the same thing
You dumb bitch.

I like a big mac or steak and cheese hoggie. Just cause it's fast food doesn't mean it all tastes bad.

now that stale gas station food... another matter entirely.

youtube.com/watch?v=-EHqRRSaE5U
it really needs more skin varietty and that'll fix everything

Attached: anthems-epic-skins-cost-8-50-piece.png (620x348, 272K)

I mean it, say what you want about the game as a whole, the actual combat is really good

I legitimately spent the final boss fight of mass effect 2 saying "what the fuck is this dumb ass shit" on repeat while being salty about not getting a perfect run because the game autosaved over my only file at the moment I failed the green sniper dudes side missiom cause I got stuck on the balcony.

Im still mad and I havent played a bioware game since.

>Bioware is going to have THREE (3) GDC talks next month about successful Anthem supposedly was.

Oh god I can't wait to see these and see this trainwreck take place.

>I failed the green sniper dudes side missiom cause I got stuck on the balcony.

lol this shit almost happened to me i can envision your panic in my head right now

gotta give up on perfect runs man, its not what its about

Yikes. No wonder you're content to settle for the lower end of mediocrity.

oh my god, this is like an early christmas. that will be great! hope some good memes come out of it

I just do ad hominem these days, much simpler than being creative

yes

Kek

>a game failing is like christmas for you

holy shit. Help, seek it

>retard trying to be so contrarian he shills something everyone pans
This is to go even further beyond.

it's just funny to watch people flounder around in these big events. most comedy shit has sucked lately so this is the next best thing. yes, watching people fail and waste vast amounts of cash is hilarious

>measuring your success on a failing academic system that doesn't even use the A-D and F system anymore
What a fucking retard.

But is it failing as hard as Anthem?

>If EA and BioWare were smart they'd pump out a Mass Effect trilogy remaster to get some easy bucks.

id buy it if they released the trilogy remastered with all the dlc.

Reminder that secret Bethesda new IP game they are working on is Destiny clone too.

I was hearing that you could get a 0 for weapon stats as they are completely randomised.

Batman

nah, not a snowball's chance in hell. they are not stupid and their workflow/personnel is completely different from those type of tasks.

If it's moddable, i'll just make it a porn game anyways. Esta es el fin, Todd.

>contrarian
Oh yea, I'm a contrarian alright. I'm playing without you knowing just to spite you. Yep you got me good. People definitely cannot have a different opinion then the secret club of Yea Forums.

You fucking NPC. Learn to think in more then two directions.

>whilst using the same engine for 15+ years straight, saving tremendously on technology costs and adapting their tools to their exact workflow desires

Yeah, they're the model of a stupid company.

Your comments are why everyone like me who wrote good posts stopped coming to Yea Forums years ago...pointless contrarianism directly in the face of reality. hurr bethesda so stupid. dey make fallout 76, it fail! whoaa so only like 5 games theyve made have been historically high selling? that sucks

Please feel free to fuck off to whatever hugbox again.

Attached: 1493292573809.jpg (298x309, 104K)

They literally have no competition whatsoever in single player sandbox moddable RPG genre. And they are stupid as shit, because they don't realize it and all they want is to get into MMO/coop space where they will be immediately torn into shreds.

>get your stupidity publicly demolished
>h-hh-hugbox!
retard fuck.

>They literally have no competition whatsoever in single player sandbox moddable RPG genre
that is their fault
>And they are stupid as shit, because they don't realize it and all they want is to get into MMO/coop space where they will be immediately torn into shreds.
except they're not making any kind of MMO or coop game, you fucking space retard.

>fucked off years ago
>still here sucking the corporate cock
Uhhh....

Anyone else on this retarded Tomb mission? Wtf is this shit blocking the main campaign

>TESO
>F76
confirmed imbecile

How's Todd Howard's dick taste? Is it good?

TESO isn't made by Bethesda, whatsoever.

FO76 was made by their new sub-studio, not the main studio that makes the elder scrolls games. Most of the people who worked there have now probably been fired. It isn't "all they want", it was a side project with newly hired junior staff.

Attached: Rise_of_Mordor_Public_Battle_Balancing.png (256x144, 72K)

Fortnite’s sucess is causing publishers to rush out games, and to paywall features that previously came with the base game, which is making triple A games worse. Its frightening to see games with big budgets and experienced developers sink closer and closer to Ride to Hell: Retribution standards, but that is the absolute state now. Shit will get worse, and may never get better. Publishers might just keep forcing studios to make F2P MMO PvP games until that market is completely saturated.

Shill money before Gamergate. They readjusted their scoring afterwards.

BioWare free pass at the height of its power.

Good god. What disingenuous fucks. DA2 is legit worse than Anthem.

Honestly after playing for 5 hours or so I really like the movement stuff and feel like it could have been pretty solid if they fixed some of the technical issues before release and fleshed out the content a bit. I'm constantly getting disconnected making me work extra hard to play a kind of mediocre game

It was retarded for them to push it out in this state.

>all the justification in this thread
I know most of you are shitposters with nothing better to do than troll for (You)s, but in case anyone is actually unironically shilling, seek help, this isn't healthy

>Game appears to have been designed by apes whose only goal was emulating Destiny, except with even less content
>Predatory microtransactions
>Half-baked story with quirky, quipy, sarcastic characters making up 60% of the cast, including the protagonist
You're fucking right I'm glad it failed. We already get a dozen games like this a year, if Anthem became critically acclaimed I'd be forced to deal with it more than I already am as everybody and their mother flew to copy them like they did with PUBG and Fortnite. I'd abandon the hobby at that point.

They had 6 years, no excuses for this shit

more like 'game of the queer' amirite

>mass effect

Don't you fucking put that on that poor series. Jesus Christ, 3 and Andromeda were enough.

>>Predatory microtransactions

I haven't seen a single microtransaction anywhere in 20+ hours

>you_gain_brouzouf.jpg

they are making one. The main studio is making it again

3 wasn't bad save for the ending

When the took the SJW pill and started hiring people based on diversity rather than talent. When they started making their games focus on social issues rather than being fun.

Every project happening under EAs wing seems incredibly mismanaged, I feel like anthem has a lot of good things that just aren't fully realized.

it's "as a service". they are looking for it to pick up players continuously. will get better.

I actually have a lot of faith in it getting significantly better, EA isn't gonna dump like 200 million dollars and then abandon the game on release.

I don't think they really have to add a ton of stuff to have a super fun game. Just have more shit going on in the freeplay world.

>Inquisition got a higher score than DA II
>Mass Effect is under 90

googled pics for me4 were andromeda pics

rpglets hate mass effect 1

Right? Easily was as good as DA:O if not a bit better.

What's even worse is I found out you have to talk to random people, like the rumor guy, then certain side missions unlock at someone like Yarrow and the mission isn't even related.

Because they genuinely believe it is good dialogue and how everyone talks.

bait

>EA isn't gonna dump like 200 million dollars and then abandon the game on release

That's exactly what happens with most EA games, Andromeda for example was expected to release a lot of updates but they axed it once the reviews and sales figures came in.

>implying EA doesn't throw their corpse in a ditch

>That's exactly what happens with most EA games

yeah except it's not, whatsoever

its of no value to just come here and type what you think, if it doesnt align with reality. EA is supporting battlefront 2 with content for instance when that game is one of the biggest commercial failures in gaming history

battlefield 1 still has new shit coming out. etc.

For the people who actually play I think so too, but the press still sucked it's dick or am I wrong?

Battlefront 2 had very little issues outside the initial micro-transaction and lag problems, plus it's supported by a big franchise fanbase so sales weren't hurt that much by the initial reception.

Anthem is standing on its own with no fanbase to fall back on other than biodrones, if the sales tank (which they most likely will), the service won't last very long.

Winner of over 90+ awards

Except you are using fucking school report grades which were created to judge competency in an academic subject. If a student getting 30% of the course-work incorrect of course there is legitimate concern he doesn't have a full grasp of the subject.

We are talking about a videogame ranking system, rated by enjoyment and value, a 5/10 SHOULD be an average barely passable game.

>Battlefront 2 had very little issues outside the initial micro-transaction and lag problems, plus it's supported by a big franchise fanbase so sales weren't hurt that much by the initial reception.

uhh bro sales were like 20% of what EA expected. meaning if EA acted as if you characterized, they'd have dumped the game and not supported it at all

they didn't..they are supporting it with free content

theres no such thing as a "biodrone". I dont think anthem will tank, its very pretty

You should honestly kill yourself. I mean like seriously were you ever graded in school? You shouldn't listen to reviews by media critics anyway, but if you don't know those percentages out of 100 are bad you're just hopeless, I seriously hope you are baiting but I actually don't think you are.

>EA isn't gonna dump 200 million dollars and then abandon the game on release.
How are people this fucking stupid? Seriously, or is it on purpose and deluding themselves into think Andromeda doesn't count because "it was da b team!". EA didn't just drop a game, they shut down an entire fucking studio over it.

do you think andromeda cost 200 million dollars to make

>they shut down an entire studio over it!!

whoa, a studio full of untalented people that proved they can't make a competent product was closed. amazing

>My only experience in rating is school report cards.

>Assurees us that the game is good while simultaneously attempting to offend and not providing any counterargument or reasons why the current narrative of it being bad

I can't tell if you're a troll or just a big dummy.

Attached: 1339954744969.jpg (540x720, 158K)

You're a dumbass.

It cost 100 million and the supposed A team had is showing they're hardly better at making a competent product with all the issues plaguing the game. At least the faces have some animation to them this time around.

Bitch, take your ass back to plebbit.

lol if mass effect andromeda cost 100 million dollars then some money was moved aroudn in very crafty ways by jewish people EA has in their employ

I thought that's was Fallout 76 was supposed to be.

>my only experience in rating is by media shills
Even by that you should know the game is fucking bad if you value ratings. The thing about report card percentages is that it has a much more real world application of aptitude even if it has its own flaws within a real world system.

50 is usually called 'mediocre', not average.

I know the game is shit, my issue is with the rating system itself and retards like you defending it because "huurr durrr 70% = average".

Why the fuck did you space so much in your post you fucking asshole? Why does anyone do this?

>yeah it's shit but all games nowadays are shit so deal with it and lap this miserable pile of shit up you stupid goy
This has to be a false flag, no one person can be this intentionally retarded and insufferable, especially not on someone else's dime.

Attached: abstract.png (513x499, 112K)

So do you actually have an issue with the rating system itself? Or just with people like me who are saying a 70 percent is thoroughly average. I mean seriously I don't understand how you could think something well under 70 is good in any way, almost regardless of the structure or customs of what you give value to.

By definition, most games are average and uninspired. It's rare to see total bombs like Limbo of the Lost or masterworks like [insert your favorite game here].

Shouldn't then game ratings be distributed in a bellcurve where 5 is the peak and 1 and 10 are the statistical extremes?

I can get what you're saying, but that still seems like far too much leeway, especially if you want ratings to indicate quality. I myself never look at any ratings, but I'm responding to your idea.

Top lauch

Attached: 1460021448976.png (500x514, 410K)

How is Anthem going to support its continued development?

The Division and Destiny had great sales and made some amount of money off micro transactions. If Anthem doesn't have great sales all they have is micro transactions and from what I've seen not even the fans are all that interested in their cosmetics at the moment.

Everyone always forgets Sonic Chronicles. Quite possibly the ONLY game in the franchise to ever have bad music.

Even if the gaming industry didn’t operate on a 70-100 score that’d still be mediocre to below average. Since it does and AAA games usually get super high reviews no matter the quality (DA2 and Inquisition) the fact that Anthem is unanimously disliked must mean it’s so fucking bad not even the biggest shills bothered to praise it

redditors are genuinely subhuman
