I honestly wouldn't rule out a Hyrule Warriors 2 completely. Game saw some pretty moderate success, especially for a Warriors game, and you can't say they wouldn't have the material to really make it work.

You could use an overly complicated controller layout on Dolphin. It is possible, but awkward as fuck. Some shit like moving the boss key around is practically impossible. Research a little and you'll find something.

We better get a full Oracle remake in the style of Link's Awakening.

One thing I'd love to see in a sequel is more army types. Seeing Gorons and the odd enemy Hylian Knights is nice once in a while but 80% of the time it's one of the Bokoblin variants and the rest is Stalchildren. Where are the Zora guards? Deku knights? Gerudo warriors? BOTW's new Rito designs also give them no excuse to not have bird armies.

It'd be cool to get playable captain units as well.

Yeah I thought about this earlier. Use the character swapping mechanic to run around as a bunch of shitty Captains that can't accomplish much on their own and complete missions tactically. Would be a fun little side mode.

It'd make for a lot of interesting challenge maps indeed.
