ITT: If you haven't played this game, your opinion on games means nothing
desu it looks like a lot of fun. As does Mario Maker 2. I may consider buying a Switch in the next few months just for those two.
I should clarify the last console I bought was a PS2
too easy for my liking. the slow mow shit really makes this game too easy
lol
I’ve played an open world Ubisoft game before so Im good
It's a bad game though.
Or more aptly it might be the first truly terrible game for the zoomer generation, so I guess you're right so long as you're talking to zoomers. Its hard to have an opinion of what is good if you don't know what is bad, afterall.
But you'll also need to clarify cause zoomers don't seem to think it's bad at all, and unironically want more games to be equally as shitty amd unfulfilling.
was just in Lurelin Village just walking around and enjoying the sights and sounds. BOTW is definitely the comfiest game in the franchise, whether WW fans like it or not.
At least 50% of these
I played it and it's fucking boring. I played HZD around the same time and liked it more. And TW3 and FC5.
what if i haven't played any of them
>more open world crafting söyshit
nah bro I think I’ll pass
souless
Imagine having such shit taste that you hate one of the better zelda games.
BOTW has no crafting tho
>rusted master sword
What did Nintendo mean by this?
Don't tell me this game is in fact so retarded that it doesn't even have a coherent narrative?????
Thats not even the best game on Switch lol
cringe and snoypilled
Bored me to tears. The breakable weapons and cooking/crafting stuff was so dumb too.
cooking is the same thing as crafting
Your opinion is worth as much as a normalfag
>t. didn't play BOTW
97
>YOU CAN WALK AROUND
>IT SAYS ZELDA ON THE BOX ART
>IT IS FROM NINTENDO
>NEED I SAY MORE?
>10/10, YOU MUST PURCHASE THIS GAME.
i enjoyed it a lot at first but it got really boring. it was a good try but i prefer traditional zelda games.
It's about the visual my guy. The world of BOTW is set in ruins and it's pretty much the first Zelda to be set after Ganon "wins" and that shows it, it's not even rusted in-game, it was more of an icon for promotion than anything
Not really. You don't look around for food intentionally. You kinda just cook what you have on you, and it's as easy as throwing up to five things in a pot and seeing what comes out. Crafting would imply some type of progression and intentionally searching for items. In BOTW you just happen upon ingredients and cook whatever you want
>The game is easy if there is only one enemy
>Your Lynel Spear is badly damaged...
2/10 made me reply
i like how your post just cements further that there is no intelligible reasoning for why the game's iconography focuses on the rusted master sword. And also how you thought you were making a counter-point when you weren't.
It’s like other 3d Zeldas except the dungeons are split into little bits and scattered all over a barren empty world. If you want a good puzzle game without all the walk, just get Captain Toad.
>no rust or scratches
no 'crafting' implies combining base ingredients to make items it's functionally the same thing
This, I got bored after visiting the first village and stopped playing it.
what does a rusty sword have to do with a "coherent narrative"?
Snoyniggers SEETHING
Imagine if princess zelda was on the cover art of Majora's Mask.
What point are you making? Zelda is barely in Majora's Mask so it wouldn't make sense. The Master Sword is in BOTW, and the game is set in ruins, so it uses that imagery
Based but true.
The more monsters revive the more health they get, right? Isn't there any item or technique to kill them quickly? Freezing and shattering them or something?
In what way is the iconography focusing on the rusted mastersword? It's a tiny facet of the larger image of link seeing a huge grassland world. The rust on the mastersword is only to imply that link has failed/not done his duty for a long period of time, while the main focus is too show link discovering a large world for exploring. My "counter point" is that's it's retarded to judge promotional art when it's main focus is providing an overall feel/symbolic representation for the game and not genuine in game features/assets.
This
So did u just make a shit list of games on purpose orrrr.....
Metal slug 3 being the only exception
>zeldafag thinking their opinion is relevant
el oh el
Rent free
>Ocarina of Time redux update had the Ocarina of Time in the title art.
>>most important story related asset
>Majora's Mask had Majora's Mask in the title art.
>>most important story related asset
>Wind Waker had the King of Red Lions in the title art.
>>most important story related asset
>Twilight Princess had Wolf Link and Fused Shadow in the title art.
>>most important story related assets.
>Skyward Sword had Link holding his sword skyward in the box art.
>>most important story related attack
>Minish Cap has the minish cap
>Four Swords has literally 4 swords
>tri-force heroes has 3 links
>spirit tracks has train
>phantom hourglass has hourglass
>BotW has the rusted master sword in it's title art, and a collectors edition statue of the rusted master sword
>>has basically nothing to do with anything and the imagery only shows up in one cutscene
Sad part is all the theory crafting that went in before the game was released of trying to figure out it's importance. There were a lot of cool ideas to more accurately place the game before OoT to allow OoT to make more sense, but instead the sword is bullshit and the story doesn't give a fuck about the timeline.
>the rusted master sword is barely in BotW so it wouldn't make sense
what were they supposed to put on there, breath?
Did nintendo ever release a "definitive" edition of BotW with both dlcs?
Korok seed or a lump of shit.
these devs are geniuses
>handcrafted open world game
>discovering points of interest by climbing a tower and looking for them
>a sense of verticality never seen before
>improving your kit with smart crafting and permanent upgrades
>to quick travel you need to get to the place first and then complete a challenge
>a simplified history with a clear villain that is secondary to the JOURNEY
far cry 4 was a gamechanger in the open world genre. pic unrelated
far cry 4 was just a far cry 3 reskin
aha epic, nintenbutts btfo lmao
>it's pretty much the first Zelda to be set after Ganon "wins"
I played it and got bored after my second divine beast. The game desperately needed some real dungeons, as the shires really didn't cut it. Also combat was just okay
Quite frankly if you haven't played at least 30 of these you need to get the fuck off this board
>this is "patrician taste"
>it's pretty much the first Zelda to be set after Ganon "wins" and that shows it
uh...
I played it and didn't care much for it. I still think people mostly praise it because most 3D Zeldas are garbage and this is like the only good 3D Zelda since OoT and MM.
>first Zelda to be set after Ganon "wins"
BoTW's problem is that the "iconic tool" of the game is a fucking WiiU tablet. God, I hate the Sheikah slate so much.
This is not real, because it isn't in the game. It's on the same level as headcanon, or fan-fiction.
The first after Ganon Wins is LttP. BotW is at the tail end of the timeline.
the best part about the master sword in this game is its completely trash unless you spend ages leveling it up with the DLC that isn't even fun anyways
>leveling it up with the DLC that isn't even fun anyways
I can't believe they took the fucking best part of the main game and made it boring. Fucking hell.
>hey, remember that amazing area where you are stuck on a big island and have to explore so you can scavenge?
>let's recreate it except you are in a small box and we give you the weapons and there is no exploration
>ages
It's like an hour in normal mode and a fun challenge in master mode. Then it's one of the most useful weapons in the game.
You could just do the easy trial and then it's a viable weapon. It wouldn't be great, but it is a decent weapon that regenerates. You get the 60 damage on bosses anyway.
>it isn't in the game
???
>pretty much the first Zelda to be set after Ganon "wins" and that shows it
But literally the only area that shows Ganon's wrath is Central Hyrule. Outside of that, you have to look super hard for a destroyed building. Hell, Ganon barely had anything to destroy because of how fucking sparse BoTW is with architecture.
One of the coolest things to come across would be the destroyed areas like the Colosseum and the Temple of Time, if the next Zelda game goes with the whole "world got destroyed again", I hope they add more ruins to the world.
What we could have had
>BotW set sometime after SS and before OoT
>Demise, sealed inside the master sword, somehow escapes allowing his curse at the end of SS to be validated, and for his malice to be quasi-reincarnated as ganondorf
>by nature of breaking the seal, this also involves heavily damaging the Master Sword to give it it's busted up rusted appearance.
>Sword is eventually repaired over thr course of the story, imbued with the Time Stones introduced in SS
>Master Sword gets time manipulation properties, and gives an explanation for why Link ages instantly to the future in OoT upon obtaining the Master Sword from the Temple of Time, and why the Master Sword has frozen time in Hyrule in WW, also some TP related shit involving the temple of time.
What we got
>link gottin a battle a got hurted and the sword got hurted too so link go sleep and recover in saiyan recovery pod and sword feel better too now cause link and sword are like E.T. and Elliot
>isn't in the game
>literal cutscene showing the broken master sword
Zelda literally brought the Master Sword back to the pedestal so it could repair itself.
>Dark Souls Halberd Player
I didn't notice this, so I don't care. It's still not real. Nobody cares about this detail and Nintendo didn't intend for you to notice it.
why is it only damaged in the cutscenes but not when you actually find it in the game
But remember you can freeze the momentum in a steel block while bouncing a thunderbolt between two dimensions while riding a log to kill it instead!
Nigger did you get all the memories? One of the memories is literally about the Master Sword getting broken and Zelda travelling to Kakiriko to leave it with the Koroks and the Deku Tree.
True but that's the trade-off for creating a sandbox instead of an adventure game- you can do whatever you want at the cost of any kind of challenge
>It's not real
>Prove it's real
>"I didn't see it, you're the retard."
Glad to see Yea Forums will never change.
Is Rance unironically a good game?
>100 years ago Link killed a million Guardians like a chad but the Master Sword got damaged really bad
>Zelda brought the broken master sword back to it's pedastal where it could repair itself over the years
>when you find it, it's halfway through it's repairs, it's weaker than it should be but it's appearance is back to normal
>used in game art
>literally in a cutscene
>It's still not real
Sengoku Rance is fucking great. The other Rance games are more of straightforward JRPGs, but Sengoku is magical.
>start game for porn
>ignore porn in the end because I want to BTFO all the other warlords and conquer Japan
>The world of BOTW is set in ruins and it's pretty much the first Zelda to be set after Ganon "wins"
Dumb newfag.
I played WW for the first time after dropping BotW and enjoyed the first hour of it more than I did most of my 40 hours playing BotW. Nintendo has been doing this weird thing lately where it proves it has the power to make the best games in a franchise, but then just decides not to, e.g Pokemon S&M, Mario Oddysey, BotW etc...
It's some fictional pixels on a screen. It's about as real as anything else in a video game.
Did you skip the game's cutscenes or something?
>1/3 of these are j"rpg" trash
Sorry I don't play worthless genres
BoTW is a weird case where while I think it's a great game, but it has a shortage of the things I like in the game while having an excess of stuff I don't care for. It has 120 shrines, but I only really like 10% of them. It has 900 koroks, but only 50 of them are fun to get. I got super excited when discovering a village on the outskirts with no connection to the story, but there is only one of them. I loved Hyrule Castle, but it's the only large scale dungeon. I love the divine beasts, but they are super short. It has this huge open world, but my favourite parts of the world are the more "closed off" areas like Eventide or the path to the Zora domain or the sandstorm part of the desert.
I mean 95% of the cutscenes are optional so that's not hard to believe
Yeah, amusingly enough when I first played the game, I forgot to go talk to Hestu because I was eager to get to Kakiroko and ended up beating the game with the starting equipment slots, I never realized korok seeds had an actual use until after i beat Ganon and went back to clearing out quests I had ignored.
You're right they should've just fucking shoved line art of the paraglider into the title, would've looked SO much better.
It doesn't actually look like that in Link's hands. Therefore, not real.
>desu it looked like a lot of fun
ftfy
Sengoku Rance is, yes.
The others are pretty meh aside from Kichikou.
>It's about as real as anything else in a video game
>It doesn't actually look like that in Link's hands. Therefore, not real.
well when a majority of the game is spent gliding and the game was designed with an "open-air" mindset that does seem like a pretty good thing to use for a logo
A silhouette of Link gliding would have been cool as fuck, actually.
There are no definitive "must play" games. With the amount of genres and niches out there, you can have multiple infinities. Just because your catalog doesn't include the number "1" doesn't mean you can't have as big of an infinity with "2, 3, 4" and so on, and still be knowledgeable.
Based retard.
>ELLIIIIIIOOOOOTT
>infinity
oh no no no no no
Will Yea Forums ever stop seething about BOTW?
I realize my analogy is flawed, but it might as well be infinity. No single person has enough time to play every game out there.
>anyone but the developers' opinions matter
Let it go already.
