3DS is Dead

So this is dead now huh? After PQ2 there are no new announced 3DS games, its all just Switch now. And there's even RF5 in the horizon. If the 3DS is still alive, then RF5 would have been in 3DS instead, but it will be for the Switch, like the new port of RF4.
Damn, and I haven't finished EO4 and EOU2.

At least you still have some games to look forward to playing.

Yes, it's dead. It has been almost entirely dead for a while now unless you think one first-party compilation game or port every few months and a couple Atlus localizations counts as a platform being healthy.

im happy with its size and library
im happy

It's dead, but the 3DS's library is quite good and large.

Good. The 3DS is severely outdated hardware with dumb useless gimmicks like stylus input and 3D.

Thank God RF5 isn't on the 3DS. Maybe we'll get a Rune Factory game that doesn't look mediocre. Love the games, but the graphics has always been sub par in the series.

I really don't want an RF without the anime look. But 3D anime look like in Dragon Quest is just as horrid (even without the game reminding you of Dragon Ball everyday). I'm not going to expect FFXIV-tier of graphics from a handheld hybrid like the Switch, but if it is in a better console than the 3DS, then it needs to have better graphics. But an RF game without anime looks is just 3D Stardew Valley in a fantasy setting.

>only 5gb left on my 64gb sd card
I'm fine with it dying.

have you not seen frontier and tides of destiny?

Unrelated but I got the question seeing your pic.

Does the Vita have any good dungeon crawlers like the 3DS?
Hopefully not anime.

Good

I never said there's anything wrong with the anime look, I want that to stay as well. I'm just saying from a graphical standpoint, not artstyle. 3D anime can look good if done well, DBFZ for example.

vita is the drpg machine, but your'e shit out of luck if you don't want anime

The thing is quite old, it had a good live

HOW DID THIS ABSOLUTE NIGGER OF THE CONSOLE GET ZERO ROGUELIKES EVER, IT'S PERFECT FOR IT IN TERMS OF HARDWARE, YET NOBODY THOUGHT TO DO THE MOST OBVIOUS THING POSSIBLE.

NO ISAAC DOESN'T COUNT FUCK YOU

Does anything get roguelikes? It's kinda a dead genre.

What about the mistery dungeon games?

I mean the DS actually did have a bunch

but the 3DS does have PMD

3DS is still a more worthwhile purchase than the Switch in current year. Also 3DS has already given me my GOTY this year, and I literally don't see anything Nintendo has to offer on the Switch this year that could compete. The Switch fails at being a dedicated handheld because you're actively downgrading your experience of games when you could be playing them on a big TV.

>inb4 next direct they announce a super mario sunshine/64 remake with analog controls

Handhelds are fucking dead. I cannot believe it. Always loved them more than home consoles or PC.

What did the DS have besides that unemployed ninja game?

Isn't Yokai Watch getting a new game on the Switch?

They're only dead when we stop playing user

Same

All things must come to an end, and the 3DS's time is up. Don't be sad that it's done, be glad it was a wonderful handheld with such a good library and lifespan.

Super Mario 643DS

>dungeon crawlers
>not anime

enjoy silent hill book of garbage

>Re:Digitize Decode never got an English release
Fuck everything

not a roguelike

Yeah, Yo-kai Watch 4 in Japan which looks really good, although I highly doubt that'll get localized this year. But actually, now that I think about it, I'm reasonably excited for DaemonXMachina. But I've already put nearly 60 hours into Yo-kai Watch 3 alone and I've yet to even beat the main story.

It's had a good run. I'll probably keep playing my 3ds until it dies, thanks to the Etrian Odyssey games.
I wish Nintendo would announce a new dual screen console though, it's going to be hard going back to single screen Fire Emblem.

huh? isn't the switch a super advanced handheld? I'm actually looking forward to its game library a couple years from now

I'll miss lowres screens

>That weird feeling when I bought a cheap-ass phone and realized just how bigger the screen was.

I mean I'm not alien to anime or anything, I just hate the modern anime tropes like the MOE MOE KAWAII GIRLS with high pitched voices who never shut the fuck up (see Xenoblade Chronicles 2).
Dunno if you catch my drift, I like normal anime in decent levels, not the Neptunia bullshit.

The 3DS was home to the peak of Monster Hunter... good times...

Switch is a mega superior 3DS. I'm glad Switch came along. Losing the 3d and the dual screen is worth it to get rid of the fucking trash specs and resolution.

That's not the WiiU

Why would you play 3U on the 3DS when the WiiU version exists?

Well the Wii U one is technically a port, and 4U was pretty amazing too.

Because no one owned a Wii U and MonHun is supposed to be portable.

Had a great run. Back in 2011 when it came out, a bunch of people had it pegged as being dead on arrival after the rough launch.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get a few more games down the line.

Mine is living a pretty long life as a mobile emulation station.

input lag and frame drops

Watching stores downsize more and more 3DS stock, to the point where it's all shoved into one corner is really sad.

I love how well devs adapted to the 3ds specs, the latter games looked pretty good
