I could use similar or identical justifications for a huge number of other random pokemon to get in. Gengar is from a generation long past, and not an especially important pokemon as far as marketing or story presence goes. Eggman is the main antagonist of a very long-running series and one of the most popular characters in said series. Soma is the protagonist of multiple games. I wouldn't say either of them are likely, especially Soma, but they're far above "Sakurai/Nintendo decides gen 1 needs more representation for some reason."

Any first party character has higher chances than a third party character no matter how unlikely that character is, and getting unique movesets for third party characters that have already been represented is extremely unlikely, and the only reason Alucard is higher up is because unlike Soma he's arguably the most iconic Castlevania character next to Simon and Ritcher. Gengar just has much more going for him.

That's not really true, third party smash characters outnumber smash characters who aren't main characters of some sort, be them protagonist, deuteragonist, main/major antagonist, or otherwise being "the face of the game" in some way. Richter and Ken only got in because they were easily to make, other wise we would have gotten Alucard and Chun-Li over them. None of these pokemon got into Pokken, and they aren't as unique as Gengar.

There's only like 5 first party characters that I want, and even then they're not that important in the grand scheme of things. I fully believe that we've reached the bottom of the barrel and all the big A-listers are in. The only really good choices that are available now are third party characters. This is why the next Smash game will come out after 10 years, it's gonna need some new IPs and characters to come up so they can make a good roster for the next game.

People are now rallying up behind protagonists from dead franchises or really obscure characters, we really did hit rock bottom. These 10 years will introduce new IPs and characters, maybe even bring back old characters and give them life again, like what they did to Pauline as an example. Either way these 10 years are gonna be needed for the sake of the next Smash game.
I disagree, right now the third parties are looking more interesting and fresh. I don't have anything against these bottom characters, but they're quite boring compared to someone like Doomguy or Dante.

I've already addressed this above, but I'll repeat it again. Waluigi appearing in every Mario sport game doesn't make him a filler character. He has his own personality thar differentiates him from the rest of the cast. His long standing legacy made him more popular than half of the Smash roster, most people know him.
