Microsoft's long term plan is to have Xbox not be a system, but a platform. They want to be the Netflix on games. They want to be on your TV, on your computer, on your Switch, and on your phone. They're clearly putting a lot of focus on Gamepass and trying to figure out how to transition it to streaming.

I started the series with CE and I enjoy 5's MP. It doesn't have CoD shit shoehorned in for no reason like 4, and what new shit it does have actually works well with the core fundamentals of what makes Halo "Halo".

At this point, with Microsoft wanting to be a platform, instead of just a console system, they are fine to make the Switch "their" portable console. Now the most demanding games would need their Xbox, while also selling any game and service they can on the Switch and their user base. It's... kind of brilliant honestly, and even if am out of the console wars, this alliance also makes sure than Sony never attemps to enter the portable market ever again, which is kind of a shame, but again, is brilliant.
