Why Was It So Good?
David Morris
Aaron Ross
sons of liberty was objective better.
Henry Thompson
Best setting
Best bosses
Non-retarded storyline
Bentley Gutierrez
Kojima is a genius
Ryan Mitchell
>best bosses
In what world ?
Nathaniel Bennett
great setting
great characters
refining of MGS2 gameplay and much more atention to detail
3>2
Jeremiah Cooper
Story made sense in a vacuum
Boss vs Snake
Volgin is a compelling villain
God tier dialogue
Camden Cook
Attention to detail.
Great gameplay with multiple ways to clear levels. Style of play affected difficulty.
Good story.
Pretty damn good graphics.
Seeing familiar characters in a prequel setting.
Shit man it did it all.
Gabriel Powell
>he thinks the HxH villains were better
Dead Cell was boring. The Cobra Unit had wide VARIETY of interesting bosses. It covered everything you could imagine from camouflaged sniper battles to guys with giant flamethrowers
Anthony Hill
The Fear alone is better then almost every other games bosses combined
Ayden Ross
fpbp
Jaxon Gomez
Story was incredibly simple and goofy.
Pacing was pretty good and game had decent variety.
Definitely the best collection of bosses in the series, nothing else even comes close.
Best Codec team as well.
That said, as a stealth game MGS3 is dogshit and way too fucking easy.
Andrew Thompson
The fuck are you talking about? The Fear is the worst boss in the game aside from the Shagohod.
It's the only boss I'd say that's as bad as the MGS1 and 2 bosses.
Justin Thomas
didn't have a fat bloke on roller skates, multiple metal gears at once, or a jet, though, did it. Check and mate.
Luke Nelson
T. Brainlet that couldn't beat him
Jaxson Thomas
Best voice acting
Evan Diaz
>a jet piloted by a former president of the united states who is also your clone "brother" is a boring boss encounter
excuse me
Isaiah Wood
>refining of MGS2 gameplay
In what fucking way?
Level design went to complete shit.
The enemy AI is pathetic on all difficulties. Legitimately the worst AI in the series barring the PSP games.
Combat isn't remotely dangerous or challenging.
Stealth is absolutely the easiest it ever has been in the entire series to the point where it's honestly difficult to get caught.
Camden Reyes
I meant snake's, not your, given you're raiden at that point
Dominic Wood
>The begging of a legend
>Awesome sneaking and neat mechanics
>Best bosses
Big Boss is a bad-ass. This game is amazing not only surface level, but in perspective to the entire series - Being double crossed, being undouble crossed, being chased by a fucking massive tank while killing niggas on a motorcycle. You're not even BIG yet....And you feel all the power...and while you play you realize what you will become in the future.
Wyatt Garcia
for me it's Solid Snake's games
Bentley Butler
I would argue that the experience in MGS3 was much more fun but just because of better mechanics. Sure Harrier Jet was ridiculous, but the fight was nothing too special mechanically compared to the hide n seek fights with The End/The Fury as well as the log trick with the Fear
Luke Murphy
It's good until you defeat The End and reach the mountains, after which it fizzles out.
Jaxson Diaz
>Online functionality
>Snake Eater
wat
Jace Harris
>sons of liberty was objective better.
I would agree with you but the ending of MGS2 was god awful to the point MGS4 had to retcon it
Liam Anderson
would have been better if MGS4 just never existed
Thomas Gray
>he didn't play the first iteration of Metal Gear Online
oh user. 4 had MGO2.
Lucas Sanchez
but then MGS2 would not be properly resolved
Josiah Powell
MGO was Subsistence though
Tyler James
The ending of MGS2 is brilliant and MGS4's story is dogshit entirely because it retcons MGS2
way to prove you're a brainlet
Caleb Powell
I'm okay with that
Joseph Green
Next time you fight him use the fake death pill dumbass
Ryder Kelly
The fight is so unfun and shitty most people just do the suicide into stun grenade instant kill.
Dominic Morgan
you're right, I'm retarded
Henry Brown
>this fight sucks
>HURR JUST SKIP IT RETARD
really proved him wrong
Michael Fisher
why was your mom's pussy so good lmao
Carter Nguyen
>and MGS4's story is dogshit entirely because it retcons MGS2
MGS4 resolves MGS2's loose ends
Henry Gonzalez
MGS4 was made at a time when retards still didn't understand MGS2 and it was made FOR retards who didn't understand MGS2.
It ruins the story of the game. And MGS4's plot just sucks ass anyways. Has no artistic point and is nothing but NANOMACHINES
David Jackson
Willing to try new things. Lots of variety in environments that made the game feel like an adventure with a strong arc. It's fun to sneak through because the game encourages curiosity about the level design.
I prefer the previous Metal Gear games for the most part, but MGS3 is far better than anything after it.
Dominic Johnson
2 > 1 = 3 > 4 > V
Levi Murphy
>It ruins the story of the game
Ruined?
Or actually resolved?
Robert Roberts
The level design is almost entirely closed hallways with grass to lay down in that makes you basically invisible.
Also literally any object makes you basically invisible as well, since enemies can't see you when you use first person lean. Meaning you can get free headshots on everyone on the map for eternity with no chance of getting caught.
About the only segments with any actual stealth that requires effort are the mountain base and the prison break.
Samuel James
2 didn't need resolution, it was fine
Isaiah Wright
>Non-retarded
MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOWWWW!
Jason Parker
I don't disagree. The variety of environments still makes progressing through the game and manipulating enemies fun. It's not a tight sneaking experience like Ghost Babel, MGS2, or even Ground Zeroes, but that variety is what gives MGS3 an edge over something like TPP or MGS4 which are similarly easy to break but also more boring.
Joseph Sanchez
>it was fine
except for Ocelot and the Patriot AI still out there causing chaos
>MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOWWWW!
I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm, in flap-jaw space, with the tuning fork, does a raw blink on Hiri-Kiri rock!
Oliver Ramirez
>write a nonsensical ending that barely manages to work despite the latter half of the game obviously being rushed
>characters abruptly leave despite boss fights being teased throughout the entire game
>characters are rapidly killed off just to tie up some loose ends
>characters are rapidly given character development to try to make the player feel sympathy for them
>gloss over it by having snake tell raiden that what happened doesn't matter, just the emotions he felt and what the writers were going for, even if they messed it up
that's not brilliant, that's lazy as fuck
Julian Watson
because it was fun
